Feb 2022 SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE Periodically my vehicle will abruptly slow down, propelling myself/passenger forward. I would examine the area and there is nothing moving that should have triggered it. There are no identifying factors involved, (day/night/wet/dry), it may occur at any time. I have mentioned it to the Honda service department at my local dealership. They say it will happen sometimes.

Feb 2022 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE The contact owns a 2019 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while driving at an unknown speed, the brakes applied independently. The failure recurred twice. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed however, the cause of the failure was undetermined. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was unknown.

Feb 2022 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE On three occasions the emergency automatic braking system activated. The first time it was hard braking; but, not to a full stop. The other two were minor. Only the first was a safety issue as it resulted in a quick slow down in traffic. I have not reported this to dealer and it has not been inspected. The word "BRAKE" illuminated on the instrument panel but not prior to the action.

Feb 2022 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE,LANE DEPARTURE When driving on the interstate with assisted cruise control and lane assist, my car has twice braked very hard when no hazards were in sight. Once, it almost came to a complete stop and had the car behind me been closer their would have been an accident - this was summer of 2021. The second time, it braked, I turned off cruise and tapped the brake and it corrected itself. In both cases, this could have been a very dangerous situation that put myself and others at risk. I thought it was happening because my windshield had been replaced and recalibrated. I had that checked twice and they found no issue with the calibration. I realized it could be a greater issue when I saw the news report on investigation of this happening on other 2019 Honda CRV's. I have not taken it to the shop yet. There were no prior warnings.

Feb 2022 SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE Purchased my vehicle November/December of 2019. I have had multiple occasions of my vehicle automatically braking for no reason what-so-ever. I've been in clear path of travel and it just brake. I have reported this to the Honda of Gallatin, TN on multiple occasions. I had to have radar system replaced with in a couple of weeks of owning the vehicle. And had to have some thing else replaced about a month ago because all my brake warning systems came on. On that occasion it didn't cause the brakes to come on but it's an uneasy feeling to drive with brake system warning on everything. The emergency braking has happen multiple times i'll do better in keeping track of those going forward

Feb 2022 VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE The ABS system suddenly engaged for no reason with the brakes slamming on. The system has also randomly alerted to brake for no reason with nothing but shadows in front of me. I purchased this vehicle because it happened multiple times in the 2018 CRV model I owned and the dealer I bought it from said there was nothing wrong and that it couldn’t be turned off. That vehicle stopped in the middle of a road from going 35 and again in the highway while traveling at 60 mph.

Feb 2022 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE When entering an interstate at rush hour, I was the first car in the line of those entering, and there were no cars ahead of me in the remaining length of lane. At the top of the ramp, with nothing in front of me, my car suddenly came to a complete stop with the screen flashing BREAK, telling me the automatic breaking engaged. The force of the break while driving 55 mph caused my body to fly forward (to the extent allowed by the seatbelt) and later a bruise across my chest. Everything loose in my car became a projectile. The car immediately behind me had to swerve to avoid hitting me, avoiding an accident. Problem is not reproducible as the system otherwise "works fine" and the car passes inspections. The car was under a year old at that point, and there were no other issues, warning lights, etc.

Feb 2022 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE The Automatic Emergency Braking System engaged while I was driving, causing my vehicle to slow down with a jolt. I felt my safety was put at risk. I have not yet confirmed this with my dealer, nor has it been inspected by anyone else. There were no warning lights or messages. indicating there was a problem.

Feb 2022 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE I was driving through an intersection at about 25 MPH with no car or obstructions in front of me when my Collision Mitigation Braking System inappropriately engaged and brought me to a screeching stop in the middle of the intersection. I am very lucky that no one behind me rear-ended me. My wife was wife me in the passenger seat and confirmed that there were no obstructions in the path of out vehicle. We were traveling straight through the intersection, no turning. My "Brake" light was flashing, the car was beeping and the brake pedal depressed itself firmly until the car stopped. This happened on 2/20/22 and I brought the car to the dealer (North City Honda) on 2/22/22 and they found nothing wrong with the car. When I first purchased this car in 2019, I was on the highway going 70mph with nothing in front of me and the same thing happened with the collision mitigation braking system inappropriately engaging but it lasted only about a second and disengaged. The "brake" light was flashing, the car was beeping and the brake pedal automatically depressed. Again, there was no car or other obstruction in front of me. Both of these episodes have scared the heck out of me, and I'm very lucky nothing bad happened with either.

Feb 2022 SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE twice in the past 6 months, driving down our rural road to our neighborhood the car flashed the BRAKE sign on the dash and applied the brakes. After touching the brake pedal the car returned to its normal speed. The road was clear, with no obstructions, no cars in front or cars coming the other direction. A web search brings up other incidents like this and a class action law suit

Feb 2022 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE Twice now, my Honda CRV has automatically applied the brakes without warning. Once at 55MPH and again at 25MPH, over a 6-month period. Both times, the car slammed on breaks and the engine turned off. I see on-line, others have also reported the problem, but I can't believe Honda has not issued a recall. I am going to my local Honda dealer next week for another recall and will see if anything at the local level can be done.

Feb 2022 VISIBILITY/WIPER Multiple system issues with this car, I was told by Honda Sevice manager, “ most people don’t even know what all the features do and don’t know they aren’t workin” WOW!! Most recently (2022)there is a spontaneous window crack, very fine line. Cannot feel crack at all on outside or inside of glass. Not from impact. Crack goes up to black area of windshield about 3.5” long. You can google and see there was a class action lawsuit filed do to Framing defect in CRV that causes windshield to spontaneously crack. (It was settled/ended with the initial plant if settling, without Honda responsibility , so no recall or notice to the rest of us driving this dangerous car) There are several reports of the crack leading to whole windshield shattering. I’m being told to “wait for Honda corporate to decide if they will cover under warranty” Even though the warranty administrator at Lisle Honda looked at it and said it was not from an object. He had to take photos, after marking with pen/ marker to send to corporate for decision. Also, ADAS system malfunctioning, auto emergency braking for no reason, no trafic around, blind spot warning only works sometime, lane departure rarely works, ALL system display as “not functioning” the minute there is even slight fog, rain or snow. Even AWD system no functioning warning. And passenger airbag randomly shows as “airbag off” when an adult is sitting in passenger seat, requiring us to pull over, get out of car, turn car off, lock it, unlock it and get back in to restart (sometimes several times before off light goes away). I have reported all of these problems over the past several years to Honda Lisle to no avail. I’m waiting to see if warranty will cover windshield for defect.

Feb 2022 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE,LANE DEPARTURE While driving warning lights on dashboard display the following issues: 1. Collision Mitigation System Problem 2. Road Departure Mitigation Problem 3. Tire Pressure Monitor Problem 4. Brake System Problem 5. Brake System Hold Problem 6. Power Steering System Problem 7. Vehicle Stability Assistant Problem 8. Hill Start Assist Problem and 9. Adaptive Cruise Control Problem. Vehicle taken to dealership for evaluation and assessment. Indicated it was due to corrosion on battery post. Post were cleaned problem reoccurring after vehicle diagnostic test. I'm unsure what will happen to me while driving. Unsure if the car System will fail while in motion. Dealership apparently unable to repair. This issue has been periodically reoccurring since September 26, 2021.

Feb 2022 VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE The other day my car logged 35k miles. About 200 miles later multiple waning lights came up on my instrument panel. Adaptive Cruise Control, Road Departure and Collision Mitigation systems are not working. After looking for help on different forums I found that at around 35K miles this is happening to many people. The "radar" part of the system is most likely the part that needs replacing and just the part is over $400! This safety feature is not only required for modern vehicles, but it is used in vehicle safety ratings and marketing to attract buyers to specific vehicles. This is no small matter in my opinion. What good is a feature that stops working after the warranty runs out.

Feb 2022 SERVICE BRAKES While driving 55 on a busy highway my car braked on its own. (Like slamming on brakes!!) The brake warning light flashed on the dash. THANK GOD the car behind me was paying attention and swerved into the other lane. Otherwise I would have been rear ended! This is dangerous and unacceptable! This obviously can happen at anytime and could result in an accident with potential injury.

Jan 2022 ENGINE I just started driving and I lost all pick up car went down to 8mph , wouldn’t go any faster.Fortunately I managed to get on a side street and make it to a church parking lot. if I would have been trying to get across traffic, this could have been dangerous let alone just stopping on the road. I called the Dealership and they gave me the number for there towing company (would be 3-5 hrs) called AAA would have been even longer. The police called a tow truck for me. They towed it to the dealership. Result gasoline in oil. Later I learned this is a problem called Oil Dilution with these cars. The dealership changed the oil , filter and spark plugs. All of my warning lights were flashing. They say this happened because of driving short trips. I’ve had cars that I drove the same distance to work and back, never had any problems. The car I had ran great, just wanted to make sure I had a reliable car as I’m getting older(67)

Jan 2022 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE Automatic Emergency Braking will randomly flash BRAKE and start to break, yet there is nothing under or near the car. Unable to reproduce the problem, but it's happened 4-5 times in two years. The BRAKE warning started showing within a few weeks of driving.

Jan 2022 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE My vehicle has 3 malfunction warnings that come up - Adaptive Cruise Control Problem, Road Departure Mitigation System Problem, and Collision Mitigation System Problem along with the brake system light on. I have had the vehicle at the dealer for repairs 4 times, it has happened again a few more times and I am bringing my vehicle back to the dealer again for the fifth time (on 1/18/22). It happens randomly and has been persistent since November 2020. The district rep for Honda (Arizona) is aware of these issues. I have been offered no other solution except to bring the vehicle back in again (for the fifth time).

Dec 2021 UNKNOWN OR OTHER I’m have problems with all the warning lights coming up on the dashboard. First time it happened I thought it was the brakes. They fixed the brakes. It happened a couple more times I turn it off and on and it was no problem. But one time it came on again but this time the car went slow I took it to the shop they fixed fuel pump and fuel filter set. I thought everything was good until it the warning lights came up again, so I went to get a new battery. New battery is in but a few hours later the warning lights popped up again. Luckily I haven’t been in a accident. But sometimes it’s scary driving the car and the warning lights pop up again. Every time I go to the dealership they said it a good to go.

Nov 2021 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM The contact owns a 2019 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while it was raining and the vehicle was parked outside, the contact's son noticed that the windows were rolled down, the air conditioning was activated, and the radio and windshield wipers were activated however, the key was not in the ignition. The dealer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to place the key in the ignition. The contact's husband placed the key in the ignition and rolled up the windows. The battery terminals were disconnected to deactivate the windshield wipers, radio, and air conditioning. The vehicle was towed to the dealer however, the dealer could not duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure recurred whenever it rained. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer a second time however, the dealer was unable to duplicate the cause of the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was opened. The manufacturer informed the contact that they needed to witness the failure to assist. The failure mileage was 15,112.

Oct 2021 FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM,LANE DEPARTURE,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE 1. My car like many other CRV's I have read about online in forums and other sites is experiencing the fuel injection failure of CRV's since 2017 model. The consumer reports article from 2018 stated the 2019 model was to include a "fix" for this problem but it has not. My car has been in the shop twice in 2 weeks for this issue and now I am facing a $1,788.00 repair at my cost to have all new fuel injectors replaced at 51,400 miles. First sign of problem showed every safety system on the car failing and warnings on every light on the dash. Only after the 2nd trip to the dealer was the fuel injection code thrown on the computer. This problem leads to stalls, cuts offs, sluggishness in traffic which all cause safety issues. 2. The automatic emergency braking system on my car has alerted on multiple occasions when there is nothing in front of me, no obstruction, or any reason to throw the brake warning on the screen. There is one particular place on my daily commute where this happens consistently even though the light is green and there is no traffic flow ahead, beside or oncoming. 3. The lane keep assist program misreads shadows from the electric or telephone lines projected onto the roadway and steers to maneuver around them. It also tends to have difficulty when the road is wet in spots from rain earlier in the day. I keep it off most of the time now because of how it reacts.

The contact received a recall notice for NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V215000 (Fuel System, Gasoline) however, since parts were not yet available, the contact waited several months before having the recall serviced at the dealer. After the recall was performed, the contact stated that the vehicle would fail to start up after multiple attempts with an abnormal grinding sound coming from the engine. There was no warning light illuminated. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 23,939.
