| Apr 2022 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,SERVICE BRAKES | The contact owns a 2019 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while his spouse was driving approximately 5 MPH in the driveway, the power steering and brakes became inoperable. The service brakes and several other unknown warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a local dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the failure was related to the wiring harness in the rearview mirror. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 30,000. | Crash: No Fire: No Towed | 30,000 |
| Apr 2022 | VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | I was driving on a city street at around 30 mpr with no cars in front or behind me when my CRV came to sudden jerking stop and then continued forward. It was so abrupt that my head snapped forward and I slid toward the steering wheel. Luckily, no one was behind me otherwise, I would have been rear ended. This has created a great fear in driving my CRV. I still intend to contact the dealership and report directly to Honda. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2022 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | While driving on the interstate highway at about 70 mph, with the adaptive cruise control activated, the "BRAKE" warning flashed and the brakes were applied, causing the car to slow about 10-15 mph. I manually applied gas to resume speed, and then re-activated the adaptive cruise control. The weather was sunny, about 80 degrees. There were no cars, or anything, in front or behind me for at least a half mile. There was nothing next to me on the berms. I don't recall if any cars were approaching in the opposite direction. This has occurred at least twice since, once on the interstate and once at about 35 mph on a non-interstate highway. The conditions were similar in each case. This could certainly cause a disastrous accident if there were more traffic. Since this happened somewhat rarely, I have not brought it to the attention of the dealer. I still own and drive this car. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2022 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | The contact owns a 2019 Honda CR-V. The contact stated while driving 30-35 MPH, the collision mitigation braking system was applied inadvertently. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact then depressed the accelerator pedal and continued to drive. The contact stated that the failure reoccurred twice while driving. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was unknown. The VIN was not available | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2022 | SEATS | The contact owns a 2019 Honda CR-V. The contact stated while in a building he heard a loud explosion. Upon going outside, he noticed the vehicle seat was on fire. The fire was extinguished by the owner. The fire department was contacted and stated the fire may have been started in the passenger seat due to the coils. There were no reported injuries or police reports filed. The contact stated the heater in the seat was previously used. The contact had some items on the seat. The contact mentioned that he had his dog in the vehicle and could have died due to the safety failure. The vehicle was towed by the insurance company. The contact called the local dealer but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 42, 800. | Crash: No Fire: Yes Towed | 42,800 |
| Apr 2022 | FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | There is a recall on some "NOT" all 2019 Honda CRV -( Recall consequence: Fuel pump failure can cause an engine stall while driving, increasing the risk of a crash.) While driving my car started to stall and act up like it had bad gas, the dashboard then lit up with every warning possible. I was able to get my car to the dealership I purchased it from. They did the recall search and Zero open recalls for my 2019 honda were found however the mechanic stated it was the fuel pump which is the same problem listed above for the other 2019 CRV. Please investigate and Please help!. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2022 | SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | Multiple times, while driving, the automatic braking system engaged when there were no cars or obstacles ahead of me. Most recently I was accelerating, and the brakes slammed on throwing me rapidly forward. The car behind me was driving the same speed nearly rear ended me. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2022 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | Auto Braking System - Yesterday at night while driving at 45mph the Auto Braking System activated by itself inspite of no obstacles anywhere near me and the vehicle came to a complete standstill in the middle of the highway. I was lucky there was no vehicle behind me else I was for sure going to be rear ended. Lane Keeping Assistance System - The Lane keeping assistance activates itself even though it has been turned off. The vehicle forces me to stay in lane many times when there is a change in traffic pattern and also when you cross over a line just to stay safe from a vehicle that is crossing over a line on one of your sides. This is dangerous. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2022 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | The Automatic Emergency Braking System brakes the car to a complete stop when there is no reason or no obstacle in the way. This has happened on two occasions. Once in Alameda, CA while on a connector bridge to the island and second on a city street in Walnut Creek, CA on 4/1/2022. The Automatic Emergency Braking Light has come on in excess of 20 times during normal driving. Although no braking occurred, the light flashed for no reason. The emergency stopping will eventually cause an accident if it continues. The car is currently under warranty and has been brought back to the dealer. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Mar 2022 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | 3-29-2022 forward collision warning - BRAKE - showed on display in front of steering wheel. There was no vehicle in front of me for a great distance. This had not happened before but the automatic braking system has malfunctioned 2-3 times per year for the 3 years I have owned this car. I reported that to this site last week and have discussed that issue a number of times with 5 dealer employees to no avail. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Mar 2022 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | Automatic Braking system brakes several times a year for no reason and is a danger for someone rear-ending me. There may not be another vehicle in front of me for 20 car lengths or none at all. Dealer's personnel as recently as yesterday have doubted me/told me nothing can be done/is due to sensitivity to heat/air system temperature/a steel plate over a hole in the road etc. Say it is just the new technology which is so sensitive. Last time it happened was last week. Has happened for the three years I have owned this vehicle - purchased new. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Mar 2022 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | In the past month, or so, my automatic emergency braking system has initiated, for no apparent reason. Last night's incident was the most severe. I was driving about 25-30 miles per hour, accelerating (to get to the speed limit of 35 mph), when the car's automatic braking system slammed on the brakes, causing my car to lunge forward. It was not a slight brake slowdown; it was a strong, immediate, brief stop. I am grateful that nobody was traveling close behind me, otherwise I would have been rear-ended. The very strong motion jerked me so that both of my wrists and my neck are now hurting. I am now very nervous about driving my vehicle; and, especially having passengers with me. I have left a message for the service manager at my Honda dealer (where I purchased my new vehicle in 2019), and am awaiting a return call. | Crash: No Fire: No Injuries: 1 Medical attention | Unknown |
| Mar 2022 | SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | We will be driving and it will say something like system brake and it will hit the brakes on us and cause us to lose control of the vehicle happens every few weeks | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Mar 2022 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | DEFECT - The Forward Collision Warning and Braking system erroneously activated for no apparent reasons. On March 3, 2022, I was driving on a highway at 65 miles per hour when the Forward Collision Warning and Braking system unexpectedly activated for no apparent reasons. I had reported earlier incidents of this erroneous activation to a Dean Honda service representative who attributed the cause to interference with sensors such as snow on vehicles. I want to emphasize the following conditions at the time of the March 3 erroneous activation: (1) my car was the only car on the road, no vehicles were in front, beside or behind; (2) the road was straight; (3) no overpasses, (4) no objects or structures on both sides of the road and (5) the windshield in the vicinity of the camera, and the hood and front grill in the vicinity of the radar were clean. As a result, I do not believe that the March 3 incident was attributed to sensor interference as Dean Honda claimed. On March 14, 2022, Dean Honda took possession of my vehicle for less than an hour and again claimed reflection could be the cause of the March 3 incidents. Dean Honda is located at 911 Clairton Blvd., Pittsburgh, PA 15236. Phone no. 412-552-3228. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Mar 2022 | SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | 2 incidents Car going 60 mph on interstate, no cars around and car suddenly brakes. Lasted about a second or two. Car slowed but did not stop. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Mar 2022 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | The contact owns a 2019 Honda CR-V. The contact stated while driving 60 MPH, the Collision Mitigation Braking System warning light illuminated; however, the closest vehicle to her vehicle was ten car lengths away; and there were no other vehicles nearby. The contact stated that the failure had been reoccurring intermittently while driving. The dealer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 4,000. Consumer stated since March 15, 2022 there have been three (3) additional incidents, activated the dash Emergency System braking notification and the audible alarm without reason. These occurred twice on March 17, 2002: one time traveling approximately 45 mph, and the second time traveling approximately 60 mph. The third time was several days later on March 23, 2022, traveling approximately 40 mph. Happened with no apparent reason for the system to have initiated the dash and audible sound warning. Consumer took it to the dealer, they test drove the car to see if the issue would occur during the test drive, unfortunately it did not. | Crash: No Fire: No | 4,000 |
| Mar 2022 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | I was stopped at a red light, and when the light turned green, I accelerated and then maybe 2 seconds later the car suddenly braked. I was in the middle of the intersection. There were no cars behind me. My safety was put at risk because if there was a car behind me, it would have rear ended me. I took the car to the dealer the same week, and they told me I can turn off the CMBS (collision mitigation braking system). | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Mar 2022 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | Periodically the driving assistance will break the vehicle when there is no reason. It happens both when changing lanes as well as when driving straight-on. The warning light "Brake" appears on the dash and the breaking system engages. It has not put my safety at risk, but it is disconcerting when it happens. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Mar 2022 | FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE | The contact owns a 2019 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while driving at 65 MPH, the vehicle stalled inadvertently. An unknown audible alert was heard coming from the vehicle. Upon investigation, the contact related the failure to a faulty fuel pump. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 30,000. | Crash: No Fire: No | 30,000 |
| Mar 2022 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | Vehicle suddenly flashed a warning on the dashboard and vehicle slammed it's brakes on completely stopping the car while I was traveling approximately 65 MPH. There was no vehicle or object in front of me, luckily there was no one behind me or they probably would have hit me. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Mar 2022 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | When driving at approximately 35 MPH the automatic braking system engaged, stopping the car rapidly and throwing me forward enough that all items siting on the passenger seat landed on the floor mat. There were no cars or pedestrians in front of me (or luckily behind me). This has only happened once. The dealer informed me that something might have been blocking the sensor (I don't think this was the case). The vehicle has not be inspected by any parties as this fortunately did not cause a collision. There were no warning systems that the automatic breaks weren't working properly. The typical dash indicator did turn on when the car braked. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Mar 2022 | ENGINE | On Feb.15, 2022 traveling on I-95 in the passing lane outside Florence S.C. we experienced a drastic loss of power over the course of less than a minute making it difficult to pull over to a slower lane and stop on the right side of the road to find an exit or stop safely. We eventually got over and were able to travel approximately 25 mph to an exit in Florence S.C to Cale Yarborough Honda dealership where the problem was determined as failure of number four fuel injector. Fortunately, with a pet in the car they had all parts necessary for repairs which included fuel injector set, plug top coil assembly, and ignition coil. we were released after approximately 5-1/2 hours with no additional problems. Considering the traffic, lane location, posted speed and the drastic loss of power my wife and I were very concerned about our safe exit off of I-95, and were very lucky to find a dealership with needed parts in stock. We were told by the dealership in Florence and Roanoke Va. that similar problems are occuring in 2018, 2019 and 2020 CRV's, Pilots and Sedans. All parts and service costs were paid under factory warranty. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Mar 2022 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE,LANE DEPARTURE | I HAVE ASKED QUESTIONS EVERYTIME I HAVE IT IN BUT HONDA DOES NOT SEEM TO HAVE AN ANSWER. 1. WHEN IN CRUISE THE CAR WILL RANDOMLY BRAKE WHEN NOTHING IS IN SIGHT 2. MY BLIND SPOT MONITORS SEEM ONLY INTERMITTENTLY NOTICE ANYONE ON MY PASSANGER SIDE OF VIHICLE | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Mar 2022 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | I have been experiencing the same unexpected braking issues that I have read other drivers of the CR-V are reporting. For example, I was traveling southbound of Delaware Rt1 near Milton DE just over a week ago. This road has two lanes running in either direction. I had been in the right lane and saw some vehicles ahead moving at least 20 miles per hour under the speed limit. I switched to the left lane, which was clear for at least 1/4 mile ahead. As I approached to where the vehicles were, my car slammed the brakes on and decelerated quickly. I was nearly rear-ended by a truck coming up behind me. This same type of thing has happened on curves in the past and it just seems that the system is misinterpreting the road conditions. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Mar 2022 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | While driving, when using the radio or GPS, the display on the center console will intermittently go haywire. Display will turn on and off, loudly beep, screen will go blank and then turn back on unexpectedly, brightness adjustment bar appears on screen. There is no control over these problems except having to stop the car and turn it off fo a couple of minutes. Very distracting and dangerous while driving. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
