| Jul 2022 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | Low Tire WARNING light comes on even when there is no problem, because as I was told by my dealership, "The warning light comes on when it can actually be a reminder." Because of the WARNING I pulled over on a heavily traveled road way to look for a low tire. Dangerous not only to my self but other vehicles. "Warning" does not mean the same as "Reminder" and yet Honda has no way of distinguishing the difference. Do I keep driving ignore the warning light as it probably means nothing, and causing an accident because there was a real tire problem or pull into a possible unsafe area, to check? I feel there should be a way to distinguish warning from reminder on the vehicle that has more electronics than the first space craft. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jul 2022 | SEAT BELTS | 15 mm bolt head that holds driver side seatbelt in place fell off without warning or manipulation of bolt. This occurred when seatbelt was being removed while vehicle was at a stop. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jul 2022 | SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | 2019 Honda CRV, 37,000 miles. Vehicle applied the Automatic Emergency Braking system while it was IN MOTION at about 30-35 mph. No one was behind me; thankfully, but this could have been a SERIOUS ISSUE if someone was. I drive two small children in this vehicle on a daily basis. I was stunned and scared when the brakes engaged with no warning at such a speed with no obstructions in sight. This was a down hill straight road and no cars parked on either side of the road. Upon googling the issue, I came across the information that this was not a random fluke, but a known safety issues with my year, make and model. I have reported this incident to the dealership (Brandfon Honda, Branford, Connecticut) to Honda Motor Corporation headquarters and here to the NHTSA. I am hoping for a swift review and resolution of this issue. Honda CR-V's and Accords are a very common vehicles so this issue affects a great number of people all over the world. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jul 2022 | SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | While getting off highway, traveling about 40mph, sudden severe braking, enough to force me forward in seat. Momentarily and then gone. Could have made me lose control and cause an accident. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jul 2022 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | 7-12-22 I was driving on I-70 east in Maryland--3 lanes. Car ahead of me was at least 6 lengths ahead. My BRAKE light flashed on my dashboard, and then the brakes were applied by the system. I was thrown forward in my seat and a car almost hit me from behind. I called dealership and they will look at system next week. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jul 2022 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | The contact owns a 2019 Honda CR-V. The contact stated while driving over train tracks at approximately 25 MPH at night, the vehicle independently stopped. The vehicle was stuck in the middle of approximately 3 of the train tracks. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact then accelerated to move the vehicle forward and drove safely to her destination. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 20,000. | Crash: No Fire: No | 20,000 |
| Jul 2022 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | On multiple occasions I have received a notice to brake, but there is nothing in front of me. It's even started to break a couple times. When these incidents happen, there was nothing in front of me. It was a clear lane... This has happened while adaptive cruise control is on and when it is off. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jul 2022 | SUSPENSION | I started hearing a roaring noise coming from the tires of my 2019 Honda CRV, so I made an appointment and returned the car to the auto dealership, who pretended like they didn't hear anything or see anything. I went for a second opinion at another Honda dealer, who then stated my tires are cupping. This is the second set of tires to replace in less than 3 years! The first set that cam with the car where Hancock Kinergy Tires, only lasted 29K miles! Now am on the second set Perilli Scorpion Tires and her we go again at 30K miles and my tires need replacing. I am now being told the issue is with the Suspenion on the car. It must be fixed or else I will continue to replace tires every 30K miles. I live in the real world and I don't have money to fix a manufacture defect nor do I have money to keep buying tires every other year. Shame on Honda for not addressing the issue, especially when it has been brought to your attention! I should have bought a Hyundai!! | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jul 2022 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | Incident happened on 7/2/2022 at approximately 9:45 pm. I was driving on a 3 lane street with light traffic. Speed approximately 40mph and no vehicles in front of me when my car suddenly had the automatic braking system stop the car. All 4 passengers jolted forward and fortunately no injuries as well as no car behind to cause a collision. I feel this is extremely dangerous and could have caused a major accident or injuries. Planning to bring car in to dealership for further evaluation as well | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jul 2022 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | I was driving at approx 20 miles per hour and the automatic braking system activated and the car came to an immediate stop. Luckily the car behind me was at a sufficient distance - or this would have been a rear end collision. This was extremely frightening and I found it difficult to drive the rest of the way home. I took side roads instead of the highway. This is a very terrifying incident that could potentially have resulted in a serious accident to myself, my passengers and others. My lease ends in December 2022 but I don't feel I can ever safely drive this car again. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jun 2022 | STEERING,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | While driving felt sticking of the steering wheel when only turning left on curves or at a red light or stop sign. This occurred sporadically over a three month period but became more pronounced the last month prior to taking the vehicle to the dealership. Dealership discovered the issue was the electric power steering (EPS) had failed. This occurred 3 months after 36 month warranty had expired and 3,000 miles over the mileage limit. No warning light was displayed when issues occurred. Diagnostics was performed by dealer and fault code 32xx thru 34xx confirmed the problem was the EPS control unit. Had the unit replaced due to safety concerns when driving with family. Because of the electric system there was no way to conduct preventative maintenance. Called Honda corporation and a "Good Will Case" was opened (#13019826). | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jun 2022 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | The contact owns a 2019 Honda CR-V. The contact stated while driving approximately 30 MPH, the Forward Collision-Avoidance Emergency Automatic Braking erroneously activated and applied the brake, causing the vehicle to abruptly decelerate. During the failure, there were no vehicles or objects nearby to cause the system to become activated. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The local dealer and manufacturer were not yet notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 25,630. | Crash: No Fire: No | 25,630 |
| Jun 2022 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | We were driving on the interstate in Las Vegas with no cars in front of us for at least 300 ft when the Automatic Emergency Braking engaged fully. Scared us to death but luckily we did not get rear ended. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jun 2022 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | The Automatic Emergency Braking System failed. I was driving and the car automatically braked to a complete stop on its own. No "bRAKE" light came on before, the car just braked on its own, no warning. Luckily there was no car behind me this is a street people usually drive 60 on!!! Everything flew off my seats and it hurt my entire body | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jun 2022 | LANE DEPARTURE,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | While driving the emergency brake system activates and brings my car to a complete stop. It happens intermittently. The most recent was during a trip the week of June 6,2022-it occurred approximately three times on our way home. Fortunately I saw the brake light flash and tapped the brake to avoid it from coming to a complete halt. We were traveling about 60mph! I even pulled off the road and turned the car off and back on again to see if that would help! Additionally I had to turn the lane keep assist off because it malfunctioned a few weeks ago-it kept trying to pull my car outside of the lane I was in-it acted as though I was drifting out of my lane. I almost lost control of the car. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jun 2022 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | On June 17, 2022 I had front end collision. I was stopped at a traffic light and went to move up closer to the car in front of me. When I touched the accelerator my accelerated very quickly in and removed my foot from the pedal. The engine continued to rev even though my foot was on the break. I was not seriously injured. The car that I hit had 2 people in it and they looked ok at the scene. I think they are being evaluated for injuries. I am waiting to take it to Progressive Insurance Network collision center. But they don’t seem to be interested in anything but body work. | Crash: Yes Fire: No Injuries: 2 Medical attention | Unknown |
| Jun 2022 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | I was driving slowly (25 mph) through an intersection when the car suddenly beeped and flashed "BRAKE" and slammed on my brakes. Another car almost hit me as he was not expecting me to stop in the middle of the intersection. All of my things inside the car flew around and the abrupt stop hurt me and my daughter in the back seat. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jun 2022 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | Car applied brakes without warning in 2020 while driving on the freeway | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jun 2022 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | The automatic braking system came on for no reason while I was driving on the highway T 65MPH. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jun 2022 | SERVICE BRAKES,ENGINE,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | Out of nowhere all the warning lights on dash board came on and the parking break was automatically applied. Fortunately I was not driving at the time. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jun 2022 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | Automatic emergency braking engaged when there was nothing in front to brake for. This has happened 8 - 10 times in the last two years. The car is available. Sudden braking with nothing to brake for startles me but no injuries. I contacted the dealership but they have not checked the vehicle. No one has inspected the vehicle. When the automatic braking engaged the "braking" light came on as brakes engaged but no warnings prior to it engaging for no reason. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jun 2022 | LANE DEPARTURE,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | ALL THE WARNING LIGHTS WERE FLASHING ON DASH, BRAKES, POWERS STEERING , CRUISE CONTROL ANTI LOCK BRAKES ,LANE DEPARTURE ECT. THIS HAPPEN ON THE WAY TO WORK SHUT OFF CAR TWO DAYS REMAINED ON. ON THE WAY HOME LIGHTS WENT OUT. WAS TOLD TO BRING CAR IN FOR DIAGNOSTICS. MADE APP AND AWAY IT WENT, APON ARRIVING TO DEALER , I EXPLANIED THATTHE LIGHTS WENT OUT. THEY TOLD ME THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY 150 DOLLARS FOR DIAGNOSTICS. TOLD THEM I WAS UNDER WARRANTY WITH FULL COVERAGE, DIDNT MATTER. THEY ASKED IF CAR WAS RUNNING OK AND I REPLY YES. BUT ALITTLE CONCERNING TO HAVE ALL LIGHTS FLASHING AT SAME TIME. NEEDLESS TO SAY ONCE AGAIN LIGHTS CAME ON A MONTH LATER SAME THING WITH DEALER MAKE APPOINTMENT. I THINK THAT THIS SHOULD BE LOOKED INTO BECAUSE IT’S NOT THE FIRST TIME THIS IS A PROBLEM FOR HONDA IT WAS HAPPENING TO THERE 2017. PLEASE CHECK INTO COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE WARNING LIGHTS. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jun 2022 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | ON June 14, 2022 my 2019 Honda CRV slammed on the brakes without me touching the brake pedal. My vehicle is available for inspection if needed My safety was at risk because I was thrown forward violently. My safety and the safety of others were at risk because if there had been a car behind me, they would have hit me. I have not taken it to a service center yet. I have not had time. There were no warnings. I was going about 30 mph, I do not believe the BRAKE warning sign alighted but I can't say for sure because I was being jolted forward. There was no one around me on the road and luckily no one behind me. I read the Feb 24, 2022 CNN Business article “Random braking in Honda Accord and CR-V under investigation” and found this is exactly what happened to me. Please let me know if there are any updates you can share or if Honda is doing anything to alleviate the problem. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jun 2022 | WHEELS | My tire pressure light has gone on 10 plus times in the last year and I think only 3 times my tire was actually low on air. This is a safety feature because you need your tires to drive. The dealer has advised they can’t find an issue with the sensor etc and keeps telling me it’s the tread etc and wants to show me how to recalibrate the system. I worry every time I get into the car that the light is going to go on and hear a binging sound. It’s very nerve wracking because I only have just shy of 34k miles on the car and it continues to happen. If I ignored it and turned out there was a flat then I cause more damage to the vehicle. I would never consider taking it on a long ride just because of this issue. I don’t want to know how to recalibrate I want it fixed. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jun 2022 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | Automatic emergency braking glitch. Car suddenly stopped with nothing in front and without driver's control. The car behind us narrowly avoided a rear ending collision. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
