Date Component Summary Severity Mileage
Nov 2022 TIRES The indirect TPMS system on my 2019 Honda CRV is a safety hazard. The TPMS alert light stays on all the time, even when all tires are properly inflated, when all tires are the manufacturers recommended size, and all tires have adequate tread to meet all safety regulations. The dealer acknowledges the system is poorly designed and was probably implemented because it is cheaper to manufacture than a direct TPMS system. The dealers have no remedy, therefore, Honda should be forced to recall the vehicles and make necessary changes to create an effective TPMS system.

Nov 2022 STRUCTURE The summer of 2021 my back windshield broke spontaneously reasons unknown. I had the window replaced shortly after, but I have noticed an odd unaligned shift in my back end lift gate/hitch. My hitch loses a tad off and there is a bigger gap difference between the driver side and the passenger side. My vehicle has not been in an incident that would cause this issue.

Nov 2022 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM Infotainment System Will randomly glitch. No touching or pressing of buttons beforehand. And no access to do anything while glitching. Infotainment System Will spontaneously beep like you are pressing buttons, go from light to dark at different speeds. Very distracting while driving. Especially when nothing can be done to fix. Once car is turned off and restarted it does seem to “most of the time” make it go away for a bit. Nor rhyme or reason as to when it will happen. Hot or cold, AC or heat etc.

Nov 2022 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE While driving on highway MPH 65-75 vehicle will show break sign and give sound warning and auto break with no car in front that would indicate a need for such an event. This has happened more than a few times and each time the vehicle slows quickly enough to jerk your head forward and scare the crap out of not only myself but my children. This even happens when the cruise control is on and set.

Nov 2022 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM Last night as we were driving home our headlights went off for a few seconds and came back on. This is the second time this has happened. Nov 2022 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE I was proceeding straight ahead on a busy city street, crossing a set of railroad tracks, when my car suddenly engaged the brakes without me pressing the brake pedal. Fortunately, the car behind me was not following closely enough to result in an accident. Fortunately, there was not a train approach an intersection with this occurred. There was no warning just suddenly the automatic brakes were completely engaged, bringing my car to a complete stop on the railroad tracks. While the brakes are engaged, the automatic brake engagement, light and audible alert sounded, but there was no advance warning. This automatic brake engagement failure is an incredible safety risk that needs to be amended by the vehicle manufacturer immediately.

Nov 2022 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE I had just switched lanes to make a right-hand turn onto another street. I was going to brake anyway because I needed to slow down to make the turn, but as I lifted my foot off the gas pedal, the car started beeping and began braking itself. By the time my foot reached the brake pedal, it was already depressed. This wasn’t a huge problem since I was in the process of slowing down anyway, but it still shouldn’t have happened. There were no cars or other obstructions in front of me (either in the lane I had just left or the one I had just gotten into) nor were there any cars or obstructions to either side of me or in the upcoming intersection. We had this same problem a couple months ago where the car braked in the middle of an intersection when there was no car ahead of me. I reported that incident to NHTSA when it happened, and we subsequently took the CRV to our Honda dealership. They said the sensors/camera probably needed to be realigned and charged us to do so. Obviously that didn’t solve the problem since this happened again.

Nov 2022 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE While driving the vehicle over afternoon, the vehicle flashed "BRAKE" on the console and then almost immediately slammed on the brakes without any need to. There were no cars in front of me. The metal plate that was on the road due to road maintenance appeared to have set it off. This was not the first time the car's automatic emergency braking system would warn me of nothing. Unfortunately still, it slammed on the brakes this time and could have caused an accident should there of been anyone behind me.

Oct 2022 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE My car recently applied its breaks automatically for no reason as I drove through an intersection with a traffic light. Fortunately nobody was behind me at the time or it probably would have resulted in a collision. We contacted the Honda dealer through which we bought the car, and they said that this is known issue without a fix. I have owned the vehicle for a year and this is the first time that it has applied the breaks automatically, although I have had about 3-4 other incidents where the brake warning light on the dashboard and beeping noise that typically warns you that you are about to hit a vehicle in front of you has falsely gone off. Each time this has happened, as well as the time the car falsely applied the automatic breaks, I have been passing through a green light at an intersection.

Oct 2022 UNKNOWN OR OTHER The display audio screen dims and brightens by itself and starts changing screens, channels, and beeping obsessively. This is very distractive to the driver and pushing buttons on the screen to try and make it stop does nothing and could very easily cause a wreck from the distraction of the unit beeping, changing channels, randomly calling people and flipping screens. Honda acknowledges this issue in Service Bulletin 19-066 which I don't think owners should have to pay to have fixed and should be a recall.

Oct 2022 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE My vehicle activates the automatic braking system when there is no car or other object in front of me. This has happened several times since I have owned the car. The most recent times it malfunctioned were (1) when I was approaching a train track and (2) when I was approaching a large metal plate on the road covering up a hole in the road. It gives no warning and slams on the brakes. This is very dangerous as I am afraid of being rear-ended. I consulted my service representative at the Wolfchase Honda dealership and was told that "the system is functioning as intended". I do not believe that. There is clearly something wrong with the sensor. He claimed that the sensor was just very sensitive and there was no way to adjust it. A different representative at the same dealership claimed to have never heard of this happening. I also do not believe that. This needs to be the subject of a recall.

The contact stated while driving 50 MPH, the Forward Collision Avoidance system inadvertently activated and abruptly stopped vehicle due to a metal plate being on the roadway. Sep 2022 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE Unexplained auto braking. 1st incident Summer 2021. Was approaching intersection with a stop sign with no vehicles behind or in front of my CRV. There was 2 construction metal poles on each side of the intersection. As I approached the cars brake warning light on dash flashed. I tapped brakes to slow down released the brakes and the light returned and car suddenly braked hard before I got to stop sign. Was only going about 15 mph but braking was hard enough to throw me forward in the seat and was caught by the seatbelt. There was nothing in front of the vehicle. Happened again 2 days ago Sept. 2022. Driving on highway at daytime no vehicles in front or rear of my CRV. Brake light started flashing to hit brakes. I applied brakes, but there was nothing in front of me. Because I continued braking the auto brake did not engage this time. Talked to local Hinda dealer was told they have not heard of any issues. If it happened again they recommended getting car inspected. Also have had intermittent issues with radio display suddenly starting to dim and change brightness on its own going from black to bright repeatedly with audible beeping. Was driving car everytime this happened. Happened multiple times over last 2 yrs. Only way to stop it is to stop vehicle, turn it off and then restart it.

Sep 2022 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE I was going through an intersection. There were no cars, people, animals, or other objects immediately in front of me. Suddenly, the automatic braking system warning light came on, the alarm sounded, and the car braked out of nowhere. There was a car following closely behind me, but thankfully it did not hit me. After the car braked on its own, I was able to keep going, and made it home a minute later. We have had the automatic braking work properly in the past, but this is the first time it has braked when there hasn’t been any reason to. It was terrifying to have it happen, and I’m thankful that it happened at low speeds and didn’t cause a collision.

Sep 2022 ENGINE BASICALLY WHEN ITS COLD OUTSIDE 30F OR LESS THE CAR IS VERY SLOW TO HEAT UP. IT WILL NOT HEAT IF IDLING YOU HAVE TO DRIVE 4 TO 5MILES ,IN THE MEAN TIME THE WINDSCREEN WILL NOT CLEAR . IF ITS ICY OR SNOWING VERY LITTLE HEAT TO CLEAR WINDSCREEN . THEN WHEN YOU PARK AND LET THE CAR IDLE FOR A WHILE IT LOSES WHAT HEAT HAS BEEN GENERATED. GOD FORBID YOU WERE CAUGHT IN A SNOW STORM THE 1.5 LITRE TURBO EARTH DREAMS ENGINE WILL NOT GENERATE ENOUGH HEAT TO KEEP YOU ALIVE AT IDLE . THE REMOTE START THAT COMES AS STANDARD EQUIPMENT IS A JOKE.I EVEN TRIED PUTTING THE KEYFOB IN THE CAR START IT FOR AN HOUR, NO HEAT GENERATED UNLESS YOU DRIVE THE CAR FOR AT LEAST 4 OR 5 MILES.

Sep 2022 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE My brake mitigation system keeps lighting up intermittently when there is nothing in front of my vehicle. This past time that it happened, my car actually stopped suddenly automatically when the brake light came on. I was traveling at about 35mph when it happened. Luckily nobody was behind me. My small dog was in the passenger seat and was thrown into the dash board and thankfully not injured. I called my Honda dealer and they had me bring my car in but the problem wouldn’t duplicate during their inspection. This seems very dangerous and it makes me nervous all the time while driving now wondering if it will happen again.
