| Mar 2023 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | Is Honda ever going to correct their air conditioning issues? This is the second vehicle from Honda that I’ve purchased brand new that has a/c issues in under a year. The first time, I just stuck it out and sweated to death in my car until my lease ended, now I can’t do that for the safety of my children while living in the Deep South. It’s incredibly dangerous for drivers to sit in a hot car- even if the windows are down. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Feb 2023 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | I have had several times where the "BRAKE" alert comes on the dash and the car brakes and will not excel. Note.. this happens when there is absolutely NOTHING in front of me. This is apparently a common issue as I am seeing that many people have reported this. I have reached out to my dealer with this however, because it does it when it wants to and not all the time, they have not been able to see it happen or know why. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Feb 2023 | SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | The contact owns a 2019 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the Forward Collision-Avoidance Automatic Emergency Braking function was inadvertently activated; however, there were no other vehicles around. The ABS warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was not yet taken to an independent mechanic or local dealer for diagnosis or repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 12,000. | Crash: No Fire: No | 12,000 |
| Jan 2023 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE,LANE DEPARTURE | I have 2019 Honda collision mitigation braking system problems, other driver-assist technologies with 2019 Honda accord vehicles also routinely issue false safety alerts. Honda Sensing technologies include Road Departure Mitigation System (RDM), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS), and Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR) all issues my 2019 has . The dealer states it’s multi purpose camera module is at fault needs expensive replacement and labor in excess of $ 1800 | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2023 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | Travelling at approximately 47 mph, with nothing in front of me, the car's emergency braking system engaged completely unexpectedly, slamming my car to a stop. This caused a pick-up truck, to hit me from behind. The emergency brake light appeared at the exact same time as the car's emergency brakes applied. The driver of the other car confirmed there was nothing in front of me. The Honda dealer where I brought the car the next day stated there was nothing wrong with the camera or radar system. This failure caused an accident, and could have been much worse. | Crash: Yes Fire: No Injuries: 1 Medical attention | Unknown |
| Jan 2023 | AIR BAGS | Airbag light came on two times (December 21 @4:38 pm & 29 @10:41 am 2022) and each time vehicle was taken in for service. The warning lights comes on & it reads, "supplemental restraint system problem, see your dealer". The mechanic believe it is due to a chip in the dashboard - they have not confirmed. A recall should be issued, because the orange indicator light stay lite and the reason for the "airbag indicator light" malfunction, needs to be addressed. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Dec 2022 | EXTERIOR LIGHTING | I have had (2) headlight assembly replacements on my Touring due to water infiltration into the housing causing obscurity of the beam. I am now having a third headlight assembly problem due to water infiltration. This is under standard wear conditions and no damage to the components. I've heard other drivers having the same issue. Honda is refusing to resolve the issue for me. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Dec 2022 | VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL | The contact’s mother owns a 2019 Honda Accord. The contact stated on multiple occasions while the accelerator pedal was depressed, the vehicle jolted back and forth. The check engine warning light also illuminated while accelerating. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the brake booster assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 55,000. | Crash: No Fire: No | 55,000 |
| Dec 2022 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | I saw that this is already under investigation by nhtsa and want to add my name to the list. The car randomly brakes at times for no reason which I find extremely dangerous. It's never caused an accident for me, but I've had at least a dozen near misses of being rear-ended. I've tried to turn off the automatic braking but it still randomly slams on the brakes by itself. This system needs to be disabled as it's just a ticking time bomb. Your form won't let me answer the questions so I'll do it here: Date: Always Speed: Any speed Mileage: Since I purchased the car new. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Dec 2022 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | 2019 Honda Accord LX I purchased this car late September in 2022 from Mclarty Honda in Little Rock, Ar with less than 25,000 miles. To date the brakes have locked up multiple times on my way to work for no reason whatsoever and I have a witness to every time. I would be driving down hwy46 headed to Sheridan, Ar and the brakes would engage for no reason and completely stop my car in the middle of the road. Nothing would be in the road for it to sense/detect or whatever to even need to apply the brakes. I recorded a video of the brakes smoking like my car was on fire just yesterday morning when i got to work. I’ve called the dealership multiple times and they have no response or reason for why my car is doing this, I have even scheduled it to be repaired two times and the dealership hasn’t been able to fix the problem and it pisses me off they are even able to sell such a piece of shit vehicle. The dealership along with honda should be held accountable, apparently they have known about this issue since 2015 and yet to do anything to correct the issue just swept it under the rug and left the consumer to deal with their problems. Whats even worse is Congress has made it a law that new vehicles are required to have this worthless piece of technology installed on each vehicle, smh like they have any clue what the American people want or need lol and why is it taking so long for NHSTA to get a response from Honda? This is ridiculous and the people who are in charge need to get off their butt and get something done for the people instead of their pocketbook. Real talk | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Nov 2022 | VISIBILITY | The contact owns a 2019 Honda Accord. The contact stated while driving 65 MPH, the contact heard a sound like a gunshot coming from the sunroof before the sunroof shattered into tiny pieces. The contact managed to drive the vehicle home and contacted the manufacturer and was instructed to take the vehicle to a dealer for inspection. The vehicle was taken the dealer where she was informed that a rock had struck the sunroof, causing the sunroof to shatter. The contact was shown the point of impact. The contact contended the report and stated that there was no debris on the roadway that should have caused the sunroof glass to shatter. The contact was given a case number. The vehicle was not repaired and remained in the possession of the dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 21,000. | Crash: No Fire: No | 21,000 |
| Oct 2022 | POWER TRAIN | The contact owns a 2019 Honda Accord. The contact stated while driving 30 MPH, the vehicle started to stall. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact was able to park the vehicle at a nearby parking lot. The vehicle was not drivable. The contact towed the vehicle to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the transmission to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 158,000. | Crash: No Fire: No Towed | 158,000 |
| Oct 2022 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | I will be driving down the road and my screen will turn its self off and then back on. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2022 | EXTERIOR LIGHTING | Turn signal and headlight assembly. Turn signal and headlight assembly intermittently not working. I believe there is a design flaw in the headlight assembly letting moisture build up causing the electronics to fail. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2022 | FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | I had the recalled fuel pump replaced at Miller Honda in Winchester, VA on 6/17/21. Since hen, I have driven my car only 10,000 miles more. Yesterday, at Joe's Auto it was diagnosed my car needs the fuel pump replaced. Did Honda really fix the problem? | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2022 | FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM,LANE DEPARTURE,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | We own a Honda Accord with approximately 39,405 miles on it when we took it to the Bob Howard Honda Dealership located at 13201 North Kelley Oklahoma City, OK 73131 for repair/diagnosis on August 25, 2022. The failure of the Honda included every sensor displaying in the vehicle from emission to lane change, etc. The dealership stated that the only code they noticed was a low fuel pressure but there was no issue other than that and these new cars are sensitive to low gas in vehicles which they felt contributed to every emergency sensor warning displayed with safety issues. We picked vehicle back up and on August 27, 2022, my wife was stranded cause the vehicle just stopped and would not start again with the same codes as before. Just quit running while driving which was very unsafe for my wife. It took well over 3 hours waiting for vehicle to be towed cause HONDA doesn't have a shift release easily accessible on their ACCORD models when vehicle is unable to start and to be put in neutral cause it won't start. We had vehicle towed back to Bob Howard Honda and on Monday, August 29, 2022 they stated it needed a fuel pump which would cost around $1007.00. However, the fuel pumps are on back order with no timeframe for delivery and the warranty for this vehicle expired apparently at 36,000 miles. First off fuel pump should not have failed this soon for a brand new Honda Accord or any vehicle for that matter. This is a failure in manufacturing. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2022 | FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | My car has stranded me 3 times by not cranking. I have taken it to Gerald JONES Honda 3 times and they claim they can’t find nothing in the codes. They told me sounds like a fuel pump but mind wasn’t covered under recall. I have on 25255 miles on car and shouldn’t be having these issues . I made a video to show them how it will not crank. I am trying to share video but it will not take. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2022 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | Driving my 2019 Honda Accord on major Interstate at night when car suddenly brakes hard at 75 mph with no other vehicles or oblects around. The car's AEB/CMBS systems were on at the time of the hard breaking which occured twice with 3 minutes of each other. I was fortuanate no vehicles were behind us because we could have been seriously rear ended. I have contacted and notified the incident to the Honda Dealership I bought the car from, but no response yet within 5 hours since I called them. No issues with the car prior to the incident | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2022 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | For the past 3 years my car has started breaking on it’s own when there is no reason to. There are no cars or anything in front of me. It has been doing the breaking on it’s own more often and now is worrying me more. It once breaked me when i was on the interstate going 75! And other times when I’m in heavy traffic. I need something to be done about this. I don’t want to have my kids with me when this happens again and it causes an accident..I don’t need my car to cause an accident at all. Please let me know what will be done about this problem with my car. I can’t afford shop fees to get my car looked at. I am asking if this problem can please be fixed. Thank you. Have a good day. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2022 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | The automatic braking system malfunctioned and started to brake for no reason, with no car in front and/or no other safety risk. Luckily there was no car behind me which most likely would have resulted in a rear end collision; which put myself and other at risk. The warning lamp on my dash was flashing brake as the vehicle was braking. I am afraid to drive the car due to safety concerns. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Aug 2022 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE | As I was driving down the interstate, it had been raining hard, but the speed had increased and we were going around 70-75, speed limit 70. I was in the far left lane when the lane all of a sudden was ending. I had to work my way over fast, so i kicked it to move over to the next lane, and when i did, I lost ALL power in the vehicle. I was terrified !! I did have enough speed to get over one lane but there was a lot of traffic and i had to get over another one to stop on the shoulder. It was close but we did get over and stop without causing an accident. If I had of hit someone or someone hit me, it would have been a multi car accident with all the traffic and probably someone being killed, including my husband and I. This needs to be investigate before someone is killed . | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Aug 2022 | POWER TRAIN | Vibration Noise / Shuddering – Experienced a pronounced Low-frequency vibration noise / shuddering while coasting down in speed with foot off gas pedal. Felt like the CVT didn’t want to down-shift as speed decreased. Problem first occurred several times on August 12-13, 2021 when odometer was ~ 15,250, and has happened a few times since. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Aug 2022 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE | My car was initially at Performance Honda due to engine failure on June 24, 2022. They called on July 20, 2022 and confirmed that my car engine was repaired and I picked it up on July 20, 2022. Then on July 23, 2022, I incurred the same engine failures as noted by the warning and error lights on my display panel. The car started slowing down while I was on the expressway creating a safety hazard but I was able to drive it to Performance Honda. The manager explained that the car needed a turbo and they had to asked Honda to approve the purchase to install it into my car. I dont know if the turbo is new or used or even under warranty but Performance Honda contacted me on August 8 and said again the engine was repaired. I've read where there are other owners experiencing similar issues. My car was still within warranty of my purchase date July 17, 2019 and the repairs were made under the warranty but I still incurred rental car expenses that have not been reimbursed to date. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Aug 2022 | FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE | The contact owns a 2019 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle would stall as several warning lights appeared on the instrument panel. The contact had taken the vehicle to an unknown dealer where a software update was performed; however, the failure persisted. The contact then stated that he had taken the vehicle to another dealer and was informed that his failure was related to a defective fuel pump; his vehicle was also under NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V215000(Fuel System, Gasoline); however, the parts for the repair were on backorder. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired and remained in the possession of the dealer. The failure mileage was 40,220. Parts distribution disconnect. | Crash: No Fire: No | 40,220 |
| Aug 2022 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | The contact owns a 2019 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while her husband was driving 45 MPH, the vehicle experienced phantom braking. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 39,000. | Crash: No Fire: No | 39,000 |
