Jan 2023 POWER TRAIN The transmission will not reverse when cold. It goes into gear and moves less than a foot, then stops like it is in park. After switching between Drive and Reverse several times it functions normally. I was stuck blocking 2 lanes of traffic because of this. The transmission also finds a false neutral momentarily during acceleration. This has almost caused me several accidents while merging or pulling out onto traffic. Dealer could not reproduce when truck was warmed up. No warning lights illuminated. This is dangerous.

Jan 2023 UNKNOWN OR OTHER On my F-150, I got a check engine light reading code P0430. I just hit 100,000 miles when the light came on so I started out by replacing both converters and all four sensors. After about two months, the light came back on and two of my sensors had been burnt up. Although the truck does not run poorly, it does have a slight lag when attempting to accelerate.

Jan 2023 POWER TRAIN The 10 speed transition is overall very clunky and does not shift smoothly. Recently when driving up a slight incline around a turn, the truck abruptly downshifted due to the incline. I was only doing 25 mph but the road was slippery and the abrupt rough downshift caused the rear wheels to lose traction and truck rear end slide. This was very alarming as I did not expect such a forceful rough downshift. Had another vehicle been coming in the other lane, the rear end of my truck may have hit them. I have experienced this more than once, despite being very gentle on the accelerator so as not to force a hard downshift. Also, when shifting into reverse, the transmission takes very long to finally get into reverse. Need to be very careful not to pull in front of another vehicle before backing up because the transmission takes so long to get into reverse. If I step on the gas before reverse is found, then when the transmission gets into reverse with the accelerator pressed, the truck lurches backwards. I have a 2010 Toyota Sienna with a 6 speed transmission with almost 300,000 miles. It still shifts extremely smoothly and shifts into reverse within 1-2 seconds. It's night and day compared to the F150 10 speed transmission. In poor road conditions, I don't feel comfortable and always in control with this transmission. There are no error codes so I have not asked the Ford dealer to investigate. I also see many Ford owners having the same issues with no resolution coming from Ford.

Dec 2022 POWER TRAIN 2019 F150 with 65,000 miles on it, started having issues shifting gears. Was accelerating on the Freeway and jumped from 3rd to 8th gear losing all power and making all passengers jerk forward whipping our necks. Also, started to not go into the right gear after starting up in the morning; put the truck into drive and immediately went into 7th gear without releasing the break and the Powertrain Malfunction came on. Restarted the vehicle and put in drive and the transmission went to 4th gear, started driving and the Powertrain Malfunction light cleared and shifted somewhat normally other than hard shifting. Ford Dealership diagnosed the truck and stated that it needs a new Transmission already at 65,000 miles and they will not warranty it since it is already past 60,000 miles. A transmission should not be going out at 65,000 miles.

Dec 2022 ENGINE The truck cut off while rolling up to a stop sign. And an error code came up the dash.

The contact took the vehicle to the dealer where the door was repaired out of pocket. The dealer linked the failure to an unknown recall and referred the contact to the manufacturer for assistance. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and confirmed that the vehicle was not under recall. The contact was then referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 44,000.

Dec 2022 POWER TRAIN The 10 speed transmission in the truck slips into neutral during acceleration. I usually loose 2nd or 3rd gear. The engine RPM spikes to 4-5000 and the vehicle coasts to near stop before transmission grabs again. It can create a danger on highway acceleration ramps or at stop signs. It happens intermittently and has been going on for 9 months or so.

Dec 2022 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER,VISIBILITY/WIPER When I put my vehicle into reverse, I get a warning that the backup camera is inoperable. Ford already has a recall on Some backup cameras but refuses to address mine because of the VIN not being on their list. Others at risk? Whenever I need to back out of a parking space. The onboard computer should have the records of the many times the camera was needed but not working. I am unable to afford the cost of a service call as I am a senior citizen.

While reversing, the message "Camera not Available" was displayed and the camera image was inoperable, causing the vehicle to make contact with a trailer. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The local dealer was notified and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V252000 (Back Over Prevention). Dec 2022 POWER TRAIN The transmission has is constantly slipping in an out of gear along with hard shifts that could potentially cause whiplash with how hard the gears shift and grab. Also truck slips in and out of gear when going on an incline resulting in vehicle no longer able to move and started to row backwards even though the truck said it was in 3rd gear. These transmission issues seem very prevalent with the 10r80 ford 10 speed transmissions. I also experienced a situation where the truck went into a limp mode and had no power and almost lost all ability to steer and stop the truck due to the transmission issue.

Dec 2022 STRUCTURE,VISIBILITY Rear window exploded. No impact. Remote started my truck, cold out so rear defrost was on from the remote start. Go in truck shut the door and before I could press the start button (it was running from the remote start but still have to press the start button) the rear window exploded shattering everywhere except for the power slider. After some internet research, this appears to be a common problem with F-150's which Ford refuses to acknowledge.

Dec 2022 SERVICE BRAKES I was driving approximately 35mph. I braked hard enough to slow down to avoid hitting a car that blew through an intersection. That's when my brakes became soft, and the brake pedal went all the way to the floor. The truck had limited braking at that point. I was able to continue driving for a bit. The brakes would initially have some braking power when I first apply the brake, but within seconds the brake pedal would go all the way to the floor again. After braking several more times, the low brake fluid message came on. I opened the hood, and you can see fluid has leaked on the passenger side near the firewall.

Dec 2022 ENGINE I own a 2019 Ford Raptor with 62,000 miles. At 27,000 I had warranty cam phasers replaced under warranty. I just had same issue come up again at 62,000 miles and ford dealership mak haik in Jackson Ms is saying it’s not warranty because I didn’t bring truck in for an update that I knew nothing about. My extended warranty CNA National has turned my claim down also because they followed my dealerships decision. The cam phasers on f150 eco boost are a bad problem for this truck and it should be a recall and definitely fixed at no cost to customers. I’m without a ride as of now and I owe 4 more years on this truck. They are expecting me to pay 3,800 to fix it while others that noticed a letter are repaired. This is not right!!!

Nov 2022 POWER TRAIN Numerous transmission problems of slipping and hard shifting, then stuck in lower gear, can not upshift to higher gears. Have taken for warranty service 3 times now. 1st time caused me to be stranded in remote desert area on one of hottest days of year with wife and child in car with no tow because of COVID/passenger restrictions. Issue is intermittent not constant. But once issue begins it doesn't not go away until taken in for service. Not safe to be driving on road with these issues.

Nov 2022 POWER TRAIN This vehicle's transmission has been discussed over the last few years referencing its "harsh shifting" and seems to not work correctly. Specifically in gears 2-5, the vehicle fails to shift properly which then doesnt allow the vehicle to move appropriately. We have incidents where the vehicle will shut off suddenly asking for us to turn off and turn on the vehicle. Our safety is in harms way each time the vehicle fails to shift properly and Ford fails to remedy the transmission (10R80)

Nov 2022 POWER TRAIN The truck skips gears when speeding up causing the vehicle to stall and then slam into gear creating a whiplash affect. This is particularly dangerous when trying to pull on to a road with oncoming traffic as the vehicle stalls before getting into gear which could result in a wreck. While decreasing speed the vehicle skips gears again creating a loud clunking noise, as if the transmission is going to fall out of the bottom of the truck and jolts the passenger.

Nov 2022 POWER TRAIN 10 Speed transmission makes loud clunking noises when shifting. Also some times when you start vehicle is make a Loud bang. Dealer knows there is a problem but acts like nothing is wrong because they do not have a fix. Tried to reprogram tranny but does the same. I have complained everytime I go in for a oil change. I don’t think they have any qualified techs to try and resolve the problem. If you read on line several people are experiencing the same problem.
