| May 2023 | POWER TRAIN,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,ENGINE | PowerTrain Malfunction Failed, notification on my vehicle appeared on 4/28/23, although I had been notifying dealer for 3 months prior the safety issue I was experiencing, and nearly got killed on a major interstate, on 4/26/23 my truck stalled as foot pedal would not work. Major safety of semi-trucks and other vehicles on main I30 Interstate were trying to avoid hitting me due to my vehicle abruptly downshifts from 10- to 1st gear. Foot pedal inoperable during that time. Yes, the dealer and Ford on 4/28/23 provided me a rental vehicle after my near collision experience until they figure out what to do, replace transmission or rebuild, unresolved. No the vehicle had no warnings, but did have symptons, which I took to dealer and they ran a diagnostic, and found nothing, they said there are TSBs out there with the downshifting issues, and stalling, jerking of transmission. But they said just wait it out initially, and I had to call Ford Corporate relations and raise the roof, after I nearly got killed by semi trucks from being stuck in a major interstate highway. December 2022 when it began, the dealer kept doing a reset, which seemed to make it worse, then when I told them how unsafe it was they ignored me, until April 26th when I left a voice mail after nearly being killed. I demanded service as I have a warranty and they ignored the symptoms for so long. Multiple people could have been killed on the interstate when my truck stalled, I had to try and coast to the side of interstate as the truck foot pedal did not work after downshifting from 8 to 1. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2023 | SERVICE BRAKES,ENGINE | I approached a stop sign on a downhill descent and as I approached, the auto StartStop shut off my motor and I lost control of the vehicle. I could not steer and the brakes were squishy. I started rolling in to oncoming traffic. When I looked down at the dashboard it read, “Auto StartStop Shift to P, then Restart Engine.” I have a picture of the alert. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |

The contact took the vehicle to the dealer who confirmed the vehicle was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V252000 (Back Over Prevention) and the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2023 | ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING,POWER TRAIN | The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated that at startup, she heard a rattling sound at the hood of the vehicle. The contact then stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was able to be restarted. The contact was unsure of any warning lights. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the PCM needed reprogramming with the 21B10 update. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle started to shudder, and the vehicle stalled, without warning. The vehicle was taken to a different dealer where it was diagnosed that the Cam phaser, bolts, seal, engine valves, engine gasket, and crank shaft oil needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the warranty had expired and advised to contact the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 107,328. | Crash: No Fire: No | 107,328 |
| Apr 2023 | POWER TRAIN,ENGINE | After purchasing my 2019 Ford F150 equipped with a V8 engine I noticed a loud knocking or tapping noise coming from the engine and a large consumption of oil happening. With no visible leaks I was putting about 1.5 to 2 quarts of oil a month in the engine to keep it filled. Loosing that much oil so fast could cause the engine to experience a catastrophic engine failure at any driving speed causing danger to me, my family, or other drivers on the road. Not to mention the environmental impacts caused by the engine burning so much oil so fast in possibly thousand of trucks across the country. I scheduled service with a Ford dealership. I have taken the truck in twice to have it looked at. Dealership has performed several service bulletins on it but it is still making a knocking and tapping noise and using excess amounts of oil. I have been told by ford dealership that they are aware of the problem and unable to determine if, or when, problem will be able to be fixed. This seems unacceptable knowing the truck is still under factory warranty. I have looked for answers online and found this engine in 2018-2021 Ford F-150 trucks is causing the same problem for a HUGE amount of other Ford truck owners as well. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2023 | ENGINE | My engine failed after just 32,000 miles | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |

| Mar 2023 | POWER TRAIN,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | I got the truck with 10,00 miles and currently have 47,000 miles. I have been having oil burning issues since the beginning, but it has gotten worse. When I was adding the oil myself before having the dealership do it I was having to add almost 4 qts per 5-6 thousand miles. I have been taking it to the dealership every 1000 miles for oil consumption test. Typically, my oil burns over 1/2 qt per 1000 miles so the dealership claims. I have also claimed about harsh shifting and clunking noises. Most recently I took it in for the harsh shifting of the transmission and 4 wheel drive while the did the oil test. They reflashed the transmission and topped off the oil. The dealership then forgot to put the oil cap back on (I didn't think I had to check their work) the next day after a short drive there was oil all over my engine, electrical systems, battery, suspension and underbody because of the missing cap. They took the truck back and then claimed only a 1/2 qt was gone. The dealership after a few days tells me it is all cleaned and ready to go. I got the truck with oil all over the place. So they keep the truck yet again, few days later I get the truck back and my truck is shifting worse in some ways now than before the flash. Today I had to take the truck in for an engine light about the catalytic converter failing. While they had the truck there it then gave a bunch of codes of powertrain body control all related to lack of power and powertrain failure. displaying a bunch of red lights including a gear wrench on the instrument cluster. These only appeared after the tech scan the first code. The dealership now has my truck yet again and have said it will be at least a few days. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Mar 2023 | POWER TRAIN | Truck transmission bangs when shifting between gears. Also slips out of gear at random intervals while driving. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Mar 2023 | BACK OVER PREVENTION | The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the reverse camera displayed a hazy and obscured view while the vehicle is in reverse. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the camera needed to be replaced; however, the vehicle was not repaired. The contact believed that the failure was associated with NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V252000 (Back Over Prevention) however, the VIN was not included. The contact was informed that recalls were VIN specific. The manufacturer was notified and advised the contact to have the vehicle inspected at a dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 34,000. | Crash: No Fire: No | 34,000 |
| Mar 2023 | SUSPENSION | Rear Left Upper Shock Absorber Mount Splintered into three and sheared off. This problem is happening to other late model F-150 owners https://www.f150forum.com/f118/broken-shock-frame-mount-496255/ Someone just posted that the left rear upper shock mount sheared off on his 2022 F-150 FX4 I have no left rear shock and I took it to the Ford dealer and they didn't even attempt to warranty repair the truck. I do not understand anything over the phone due to my hearing, please email me at [XXX] On the evening of March 11, I had just ate dinner at a Italian restaurant and saw my left rear shock absorber laying on the ground. This shouldn't be happening on a truck that is not even five years old and doesn't even have 100,000 miles on it. Ford should be fixing my truck period. This is a safety issue. | Mar 2023 | TIRES | T275/65R18 Tire Tread Outer walls have serious cracks, separation, compromised, and unsafe | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Mar 2023 | POWER TRAIN | When driving this vehicle at slow speeds when cold there is a groning sound or growling sound coming from front differential. At high speed it gets lowder but is less noticeable because of tires. When coming to stoplights or stop sign slowing down considerably alot of moaning, groning noise comes from left side. The vehicle will then have a slight pull to the right. Its been at dealership twice second time still there as they can't seem to duplicate the issue but will not drain the front end to see how much metal in oil. I have videos of the noise and there our several complaints on the ford forum with YouTube videos of exact noise. I see that 2020-2022 has issued a recall because of defective pinion. I think the recall should take into the effect 2018 on as they are the same differential. As a mechanic for 35 years from ford retired I believe the issue is either 1 the bearing race is not seated and when cold you hear the moaning groning because the bearing race is spinning in the aluminum housing or the pinon bearing set are pitted for some reason. You can feel a slight vibration under the floor board when it's doing it which leads me to believe if the bearing locks up the front driveshaft will go through transfer case and vehicle will end up out of control. Thank you | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Mar 2023 | SERVICE BRAKES | While driving at highway speeds the truck when hits uneven ground will trigger the abs and the brake will be applied to the right wheel causing the vehicle at 80 mph to be yanked to the right hard abs light flashes, no codes all components pass inspection | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Mar 2023 | BACK OVER PREVENTION | I purchased my 2019 Ford F-150 used in October of 2022 directly from a Ford dealer. The reverse view on the infotainment screen was foggy at the time of purchase due to moisture in the rear view camera. My local Ford dealer told me that the specific rear view camera in my truck was part of a massive recall, but they would not replace the camera because my VIN was not included on the recall list. I am confused as to how a part can be found defective and a recall issued to replace the part, but a vehicle made with the defective part is left off of the recall order. In any case, I purchased a new backup camera directly from Ford. The original camera has been superseded by a new part number. Hopefully, the new camera will not have the moisture issue. I have the old backup camera and it is available for review. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Mar 2023 | STRUCTURE | I purchased my 2019 Ford F150 used in October of 2022 directly from my local Ford dealership. At the time of purchase the tailgate handle did not work properly. The tailgate handle would stick in the open/unlatched position. If you closed the tailgate with the handle in the open/unlatched position the tailgate would fall down. If the falling tailgate struck a child in the head, it could cause injury or death. I purchased a new tailgate handle. The torsion spring and hinge pins on the new handle are coated in grease. The spring and pins on the old tailgate handle are rusted. I still have the old tailgate handle and it is available for inspection. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Mar 2023 | WHEELS | My vehicle went in for oil change, tire rotation and tailgate recall. Now I was told by the dealer that lug nuts had swelled because manufacturer put caps on the nuts which causes overheating. According to my dealership I have 12 lug nuts to replace. Is this reasonable to replace these items on a 4 year old vehicle? My dealership told me they don't make vehicles like they used to. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Mar 2023 | POWER TRAIN | Transmission shifting erratically with symptoms of lunging, missing gears, not engaging reverse, downshifting hard, and downshifting while accelerating. Symptoms worse between 3rd and 6th gear and almost not drivable right after starting on a cold morning (20deg F or less). Ford has reprogrammed ECU but it seems worse and has developed clunking noise somewhere in driveshaft or rear differential. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Mar 2023 | LANE DEPARTURE,BACK OVER PREVENTION,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | Backup camera faulty shows blurry screen when putting truck in reverse also sometimes shows no picture and just different colors on screen. 2019 F150, 20k miles. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Feb 2023 | ENGINE | The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle, the engine was making an abnormally loud knocking sound. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that he was able to drive the vehicle; however, the failure persisted. The dealer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The contact related the failure to Ford Campaign Number: 21N03. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that they could not assist as the vehicle was not included. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000. | Crash: No Fire: No | 50,000 |
