Nov 2025 POWER TRAIN,SEAT BELTS I purchased a 2019 Chevy Traverse brand new off the lot as single owner and kept up with maintenance. The transmission just went out while I was on the highway and abruptly begin reducing speed and I was unable to accelerate. This was dangerous as no warning lights came on prior to this happening to warn that there were any engine issues. This could have caused an accident on the highway due to me not having control to accelerate and vehicle de-accelerated without warning. Also the passenger seat belt stop working and would not click. There was a Shift to Park warning that kept coming up on the car about 1.5 years ago that should be a recall as the car would not go off when turned off. The radio and lights in the vehicle would continue to run while the engine was off. I am concerned about all of the issue with this car that makes me question the quality and build of this vehicle. The first 4 years this vehicle was great and then all of a sudden it begin to breakdown in parts. The dealership confirmed all of these things and I asked if warranties were on these items and it was not.

Before the Transmission went out when I will stop at the red lights or stop signs the car would just take off for no reason. With my foot still on the brakes or the car would just stall when I am driving it right in the middle of traffic. GMC needs to held accountable before some one gets killed.😤😡🤬

Oct 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER Shift to park notice. For several months the shifter has had issues going into park. The shifter is in the park position but isnt reading. I know a few other people with similar Traverse models in my area having the same issue. Im also aware that some models of GM SUV have already recalled this part. After having to wait over 5 minutes multiple times for the car to recognize that its in the park position I decided to get this replaced. This is an issue I believe a recall should be noticed and I should be reimbursed for the parts and labor of this

Sep 2025 AIR BAGS I was in an accident in my 2019 Chevy Traverse on September 4, 2025. Upon impact, my airbags did not deploy. I was pulling out from and intersection and a car with no lights on was coming from the right of me going towards the left of me. I ended up hitting his car on the driver' side and rear door. His side airbags went off. I was wearing my seatbelt. My body was thrown forward and hit the steering wheel. The airbag did not go off upon impact. I have a broken sternum, bruised ribs and bruises across my left shoulder due to the seatbelt. I ended up in the hospital overnight for observation. They were worried about my heart and lungs since they were jarred forward when I hit the steering wheel. Now my insurance company wants to total my car. They also want me to get a different title (salvage title) if I have the car fixed, which in turn with make it hard for me to sell it and keep insurance on it. I want to know what will be done about this. If I get the car fixed, will it happen again? Looking for answers. I feel that I would have been just fine if my airbag had went off. Now I am looking at 6-8 weeks of painful recovery.

Sep 2025 POWER TRAIN We bought a 2019 Chevy Traverse High Country in 2018. Oct 2021-Jan 2022 Chevy held the car to put a new transmission in, at no cost to us, with no explanation, no paperwork. Now we are in September 2025 and the car needs another transmission. In Oct 2021 I was accelerating through an intersection and the car stopped in the middle of the intersection, it was TERRIFYING. Luckily people around me realized the situation and help me get the car to safety. I had my two children in the car under 3. Fast forward to Sept 2025, I am merging on the highway accelerating and my car is SLOWING DOWN. I had the car towed to a dealership and the transmission has gone into self protect mode, identifying a gear shift problem between gears 3-4. Three transmissions in a car from end 2018-sept 2025.

Sep 2025 POWER TRAIN The contact owns a 2019 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle and shifting to reverse(R), the vehicle made an abnormal, loud clunking sound. The contact stated that while driving at 15 MPH, the vehicle failed to shift out of first gear, and the engine was revving. The vehicle was towed to T&T Automotive, where it was diagnosed that the transmission had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact related the failure to an unknown recall. Additionally, the contact stated that upon shifting to park(P) and attempting to turn off the vehicle, the message "Shift to Park" was displayed. The vehicle was taken back to the mechanic, where the failure was related to an unknown TSB. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 111,000.

Sep 2025 BACK OVER PREVENTION: WARNINGS The "shift to park" alert keeps coming on even when car is in park gear. One has to either put car in reverse and then shift slowly to park more than a few times for it to finally recognize it is in park. Otherwise, one cannot turn car off and brake stiffens and hard to turn car on again. This is frustrating and poses a hazard. This has been ongoing for months.

Sep 2025 AIR BAGS The contact owns a 2019 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated that while his wife was driving at 20 MPH at an intersection, she failed to see the approaching vehicle that was driving 40 MPH and T-boned that vehicle. The air bags did not deploy. During the impact, the contact's wife's chest area collided with the steering wheel. The other vehicle did have all the air bags deployed. A police report was filed. The contact’s wife sustained abdominal, right knee, and chest pain, as well as a headache, and was treated in the hospital. The vehicle was towed to the tow yard. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 48,000.

Sep 2025 UNKNOWN OR OTHER Vehicle: 2019 Chevrolet Traverse High Country Mileage at Failure: ~68,897 miles Problem: Rear auxiliary evaporator leaked refrigerant, causing the A/C to blow warm and fail. Safety Concerns: Loss of cooling performance in high summer temperatures → potential heat stress risk for passengers, especially children and medically vulnerable occupants. Refrigerant leaking inside the vehicle → potential inhalation exposure for occupants. Diagnosis: Dealer confirmed refrigerant leak from rear evaporator; repair cost $1,763.05. GM Awareness: GM has published TSB 16-NA-046 and PIT5335A describing this exact failure mode (evaporator corrosion from blower motor copper dust), but has not issued a recall or extended coverage.

Aug 2025 POWER TRAIN My 2019 Traverse has approximately 27k miles. I have taken the car in to a Chevy dealership for repair. The car is shuddering at around 20 mph. The dealer told me this is a common issue and after review of hundreds of complaints it appears it is. It is out of warranty by a year. Apparently the issue is likely the torque converter. However GM, requires I do a transmission flush and reprogram followed by driving 500 miles. If it does not work then I have to replace the torque converter. The transmission flush is $980 dollars and a torque converter is quoted at $3,400. If this is a known issue and no fault of the driver it should be covered by GM. Why would I pay 1,000 dollars to then pay another 3,400 for a total of $4,400 dollars for a repair for a car with 27k miles. I feel like this should be a recall based on the number of complaints and cost to buyer. This seems ridiculous. I have agreed that the initial 980 dollars as I have no choice. I am requesting someone look into the GM transmission issues from the 2017 to 2020 year vehicles.

Aug 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM I have been experiencing an intermittent issue where the vehicle displays a “Shift to Park” message, even though the gear shift lever is clearly in the Park position. When this happens, the vehicle will not fully shut off, and I have to repeatedly move the shifter back and forth or restart the vehicle to clear the message. This issue began around January 2024, and it has become more frequent over time. I understand that this is a known defect in GM vehicles, and that GM issued Technical Service Bulletin #19-NA-206 to address it. According to the TSB and owner reports, this problem is caused by a faulty park switch or microswitch inside the shifter assembly, and the solution involves installing a jumper harness and/or replacing the shift control assembly. This is both a functional and safety concern, as the vehicle may not recognize it's in Park and could potentially result in a failure to turn off or secure properly. I’m requesting that General Motors or an authorized dealer perform the recommended repair per TSB #19-NA-206 at no cost, as this is a widely reported manufacturing defect. Please advise how this issue can be resolved as soon as possible. I am attempting at uploading a photo and a video. The system does not allow videos and it is rejecting the photo.
