| Jun 2024 | POWER TRAIN,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | The oil cooler lines on my 2019 Silverado 1500 disconnected at the crimp while I was driving. The vehicle has only a bit more than 30,000 miles. I checked online, I.e. various sites as well as nhtsa and found the GM Customer Satisfaction Program N192220080. In the pdf on your site dated June 22, 2021, it is stated that only 530 vehicles were affected. I believe that this problem is more widespread than GM is willing to admit. Fortunately I was not driving on the interstate at a high rate of speed where “ a potential loss of propulsion” could have resulted in a tragic outcome. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jun 2024 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,EXTERIOR LIGHTING,ENGINE | The electrical system: truck will make clicking noises after I turn it off and the keys are out of ignition. Radio won’t go off when it’s supposed to. I have fan on in my truck for the heat/ac and it blows out of the wrong vent or if I have dial on high there is nothing coming out. When I’m walking away from the truck it will start making noises. Head lights are dim inside lights are dim. I can smell gas in my truck. Transmission jerks no power at all driving up a hill. I had a 2006 Chevy Silverado. I fell in love with it the first time I seen it. She had a v8 vortex motor in it. I don’t know why a person would put come up with a v6 to pull an 8000 lb truck!!! It takes forever to speed up! I was told to save gas, I seriously don’t think so!!! I put transmissions and engines together for 15 years at Toyota. I have a lot of respect for the Japanese people because they care about what they build. Chevy needs to hire some people from Toyota to help straighten them out. Can’t really give dates to many! | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |

| Jun 2024 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER,ENGINE | I have 2019 chevy silverado 1500 that only has 38000 miles and bought it at 34000 miles. I drive it 20 miles if that to work and back only and use my wifes cars another chevy on weekends family car. One morning i turned it on and it stated no oil pressure to turn car off. I did as it stated lifted the hood and can tell the oil cooler line/hose came off due to the latch bracket not holding. Thank God i wasnt on the highway in dfw traffic could have caused an accident. Low and behold many hundreds of complaints with the same vehicle and issue has been filed with Gm motors. While in alaska and canada the exact same issue is recalled but not the united states of America! Please help as i cannot replace an engine in this time today with a family over an issue many hundreds of chevy owners are having. Its an obvious recall and part thats not up to the law or standards. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jun 2024 | SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC | The contact owns a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated while driving 50 MPH, the message "Brake Failure" was displayed. The traction control, ABS, and check engine warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated that while approaching a red traffic light and depressing the brake pedal, the brake pedal was stiff and failed to respond as needed. The contact drove over the curb and onto the median, where the vehicle stopped. The contact was able to drive to the residence at slow speeds, and the contact turned off and parked the vehicle. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle, 10 minutes later, the message was no longer displayed, and the warning lights were no longer illuminated. The dealer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed and attempting to make a left turn, the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was able to be restarted and taken to a dealer. The dealer diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the ground wire, positive wire, and electrical connection box had low resistance causing the battery to drain and lose voltage. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000. | Crash: No Fire: No | 50,000 |
| May 2024 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | Sliding Back window of 2019 and newer GMC pickups are experiencing issues with defects on the plastic connecting to the back window. They are cracking and allowing water to enter vehicle and down to carpet possibly creating mold. They have fixed mine one time already and the fix lasted for a little over 2 years. and just my truck was in the shop again for over a week and it’s the same issue . Advising they will not cover it under extended warranty . The is a health concern and GMC knows about it and will not do anything to rectify the problem | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2024 | STEERING,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | Because of faulty ground strap, lost power steering and several other fault codes. Authorized GM dealer reported ground strap completely broke. My vehicle has a little over 26000 miles on odometer. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2024 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,EXTERIOR LIGHTING,SEAT BELTS | Hello, I purchased a 2019 Chevrolet Trailboss LT from a Chevrolet dealership on April 23 2024. I noticed a few days later and after the first rain, the back window was leaking water inside. There is a service bulletin regarding this issue, I called General Motors and was told that they recommend me getting this repaired at my expense. Ironically my mother whom was with me at the time of purchase was coughing on our way home from the dealership and said she’s very sensitive to black mold and felt the truck had mold somewhere in it. I do have pictures of large water stains on the headliner along with water running down the back window onto the carpet. I do not feel comfortable putting my family in this vehicle with possible black mold. At time of purchase, i mentioned to the sales lady that my mother suffers from a chronic lung infection and the leaking back window service bulletin was never disclosed with me. I feel that General Motors should be held accountable to make these repairs at their expense due to black mold, water around electrical and seatbelts. Thank you for any help | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2024 | STEERING | While driving my 2019 Chevy Silverado 1500 Crew Cab with the grandkids in the car the electric power steering was lost while driving the vehicle which almost cause an accident. It became extremely hard to turn the wheel lost the power sterering while making a turn almost hit the curb and by an on coming vehicle. I noticed there is a National recall on the Chevy Silverado's for this exact issue with the same symptons listed on the recall but my dealer ( Depaula Chev located in Albany NY) states for some reason my vehicles VIN is not listed as a recall thats associated with the National recall. I had a person come by cause Im afraid to drive the vehicle and it came up as service the power steering EPS. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2024 | POWER TRAIN,ENGINE | Cracked Engine. There was no warning. No indications prior to incident. Driving approximately 45/50 mph on road, out of NO WHERE a message appeared "Shift into NEUTRAL and SHUT OFF ENGINE" I coasted to the side of the of road, there was no power at all. I did as the message stated. Once I turned off the vehicle, it would not start. It has not been able to start since that time. I had to have the vehicle towed. First to my local mechanic who could not find anything and suggested to take to a dealer, I had to have it towed again. Thankfully other vehicles behind me were patient enough for me to get to the side of road. However, this could have caused a very serious accident. I have read other complaints online regarding the same issue. GM/CHEVY states there are not enough complaints of the issue but have had some. Does a death need to occur to get attention? I certainly hope not. The vehicle has been properly maintained. Chevy can not give a reason for this happening. My vehicle is over the warranty amount in mileage. Therefore I have to pay 30% of the cost for a new engine. I would not be as upset if there was something I did, but if it is properly maintained, why? No one can answer that question. All I get is "I understand". If they did, they would have done something sooner and they would cover this cost 100%.There has to be some defect or issue somewhere. They can not seem to give me an exact figure for the repair. Who knows what my out of pocket cost will be. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2024 | POWER TRAIN | The contact owns a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact was able to drive to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed with transmission failure. The contact stated that while attempting to shift into 3rd gear, the vehicle returned to 1st gear abruptly. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the failure persisted. The contact replaced and performed a reset to the battery and the check engine warning light disappeared. The contact stated that after repair the vehicle worked properly for several days however, the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 150,000. | Crash: No Fire: No | 150,000 |
| Apr 2024 | ENGINE | I was on my way to an important doctor appointment driving on the interstate in fairly heavy traffic. All at once with no warning my engine died and the transmission shifted itself into neutral. I was in the fast lane when the engine stopped. Fortunately I was able to make it over to the emergency lane. Otherwise I could have very likely have been hit by another driver. This was a very scary occurrence. I had it towed to the dealer and was told that my 6.2L engine was locked up. I have done my own oil changes for the past 55 years so I know for a fact that there was oil in the engine and it had be changed regularly. From what I have read on numerous other web sites this seems to be a common occurrence with these engines. I think there should be a factory recall on these engines immediately before someone is seriously injured or killed. Please look into this very serious problem. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2024 | POWER TRAIN | Engine blew the lifters while driving on the highway at 75MPH in Morning traffic. The truck immediately lost power and dropped from 75 down to 45 quickly without any input from me. Luckily the cars behind me were able to swerve before hitting me while i was pulling to the side. The lifter failures are a known issue with GM trucks with the 5.3 and 6.2 liter engines. The service advisor told me they do at least 12 of these per month. There are 100's of messages on several forums where people have the exact same issue. Some of them experiencing the failures with as low as 5K miles. GM's fix is to replace both banks of lifter if the engine has under 16K miles and only replace the one bank if the engine has over 16K miles. The FIX is not really a Fix since GM is putting the same lifter design right back in, leading to many people having the issue multiple times. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2024 | ENGINE | Driving truck down road, suddenly alert on dashboard comes on that says “oil pressure low, shut off vehicle.” Turned into the parking lot, shut truck off. Noticed oil cooling line had come off the clamped side. Tried replacing it into clamp and replacing oil but engine would not turn over. Towed to shop. Had to replace entire engine. Noticed that other 2019 Chevy Silverado 1500s were recalled for same issue. Called to report to GMC—- they would not do anything about it since it was not part of the original recall. Please consider asking them to expand recall—-given that the recall reflects the exact issue we had with our 2019 Chevy. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2024 | POWER TRAIN | The contact owns a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated while her husband was driving approximately 30 MPH, the check transmission warning light illuminated. The contact was informed by her husband that prior to the warning light being illuminated, the vehicle was vibrating and shaking abnormally. The contact stated that her husband had experienced the failure with the vehicle jolting and the transmission slipping while shifting between gears. The contact stated that the transmission was repaired 5-months prior at the dealer. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer to be diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000. | Crash: No Fire: No | 120,000 |
| Apr 2024 | ENGINE | 1: Cylinder 1 misfire (available for inspection upon request) 2: Vehicle can cut off without warning while ABS brakes malfunction. 3: Dealer unknown Independent service confirm 4:unknown 5: engine light illuminated intermittingly 1week prior to the misfire. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2024 | ENGINE | The contact owns a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while his wife was driving at an undisclosed speed, the "Oil Pressure Low, Turn Vehicle Off" message was displayed. The contact's wife pulled to the side of the road. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed that the failure was related to Customer Satisfaction Program: N212326940 (Engine Oil Cooler Lines Detaching from Crimp); however, the VIN was not included. The contact stated that the rear main seal had previously been replaced due to an engine oil leak, but the failure persisted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to file a complaint with the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 84,000. | Crash: No Fire: No Towed | 84,000 |
| Apr 2024 | POWER TRAIN | The contact owns a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated while slowing for a traffic signal and coming to a stop, there was a jolt as if the vehicle had been crashed into in the rear of the vehicle. The contact stated that the vehicle also hesitated and then jerked into gear while depressing the accelerator pedal. The contact stated that the failures were intermittent but reoccurring. The contact stated that the "Transmission Hot - Idle Engine" was displayed. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer who advised that the transmission failure was a known failure but that the manufacturer had not provided a remedy. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 65,000. | Crash: No Fire: No | 65,000 |
| Apr 2024 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | When turning off the vehicle, the DIC gives an indication of Shift to Park warning. After a few minutes the beeping and warning would turn off. Started happening at 62,000 miles. Dealer looked for it April 18, 2023, could not duplicate the problem. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2024 | ENGINE | I had an oil cooler line fail on the interstate, causing a sudden loss of oil pressure. Caused a great deal of smoke to the side and rear of vehicle as well as oil spilled beneath. I was fortunate to get off the road before an accident occurred. There was a related recall to this line in the past but covered only a small number of vehicles. It still seems to be a common occurrence according to several mechanics, vehicle owners, and tow truck drivers. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2024 | POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | When I put the vehicle in reverse the camera goes fuzzy then cuts out completely. Then goes on/off repeatedly. Also having transmission issues, I put the vehicle in drive and doesn’t move until about 7 seconds after I let off the brake. Does a bad jerk! Shifting issue throughout the whole time I’m driving! I talked to a guy about his truck that has the same issues I’m having and he said the dealer needs to change the transmission soon. Really concerns me bc I feel like one day it will leave me stranded and the truck only has 48,000 miles | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2024 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER,SERVICE BRAKES | This 2019 Silverado pickup truck lurched forward on 2 different occasions. The first time it lurched forward, it was in a parking lot and no damage was done to the truck or any other vehicle. The second time our 2019 Silverado pickup truck lurched forward I was turning around at a farm. The truck hit a wooden building on the farm and did damage to it and our truck did damage the front end of the truck to the tune of $3,474.00. If someone was in front of the truck, they would have been killed or seriously injured. We have been very careful with the truck ever since. We could pull it into our garage and it could lurch forward and go through the garage wall. | Crash: Yes Fire: No | Unknown |
