| Oct 2022 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | U connect radio system / screen delaminating/ radio makes phone calls to 911 and other numbers on its own. Controls a/c and heat turns those off and on without anyone touching the controls very annoying, distraction to driver also causes backup camera not to work. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2022 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | Touch Screen on radio has peeled up and is bouncing all around from navigation, heat/air, radio and will not power off. Cannot use any function properly or connect the USB functionality. The dealership informed me it was a problem with all 2018 models and we would have to replace the entire screen. This is our opinion should be a recall on the model. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2022 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | The touch screen in my vehicle, that controls everything from heat& A/C, GPS, radio, heated seats/steering wheel, and also connects with my phone. It automatically changes constantly without warning causing me to have to switch back or turn off what it may have turned on. It changes my directions when I use it to go to unfamiliar places forcing me to briefly take my eyes off the road to navigate the screen. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2022 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,SEATS,VISIBILITY/WIPER | The Uconnect 8.4" has a delamination problem that causes the screen to act like it's being touched. This causes distractions because the seats vent/heat turn on/off. The radio station changes frequently. It makes calls from your phone using Bluetooth and the only way to stop it is by using your phone which causes distractions. This is a known problem based on Google searches and Ram/Chrysler should fix this issue before ppl are injured/killed while driving. The u connect screen controls, climate, hazard lights, phone, and other apps which is a huge problem and safety issue. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2022 | FUEL SYSTEM, DIESEL | The contact owns a 2018 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving 50 MPH, the service electronic control warning light was illuminated and the vehicle went into Limp Mode. The contact was able to drive to his residence while experiencing the failure. The contact took the vehicle to a local dealer who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The mechanic cleared the code. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure was experienced three days later. The contact took the vehicle back to the dealer who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The mechanic cleared the fault code and reset the computer. The vehicle was repaired but continued to experience failure again three days later. The contact took the vehicle back to the dealer for a third time and again the mechanic was unable to determine the cause of the failure but informed the contact that the vehicle needed to have the pressure checked. The dealer stated that the equipment to service the vehicle was not available to them. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact took the vehicle to a second local dealer: Baxter Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Papillion (14920 Crest Road, Omaha, NE 68138: (402) 819-6852) and was informed that the VIN was associated with NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V406000 (Fuel System, Diesel) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The dealer also informed the contact that the turbo needed to be replaced. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. Parts distribution disconnect. The failure mileage was approximately 66,300. | Crash: No Fire: No | 66,300 |
| Sep 2022 | ENGINE | Exhaust manifold bolt issue causing exhaust leak. This is a known issue for these engines and Ram will do nothing about the problem. In most areas an exhaust leak because of their defect will cause non inspection pass. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2022 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER | The in-dash audio system is shorting out. GPS will not work; U-Connect cannot make or receive calls (safety issue); U-Connect will make random phone calls over and over again, causing the driver to try and stop the calls while driving (safety issue); radio changes constantly between radio, Sirius, Aux and Phone (you cannot turn it off). It also affects the a/c and heat. I cannot believe this issue has not been recalled. I understand it is a real problem in the Ram trucks. Dodge needs to take care of this immediately! I do not drive the truck much because it is dangerous. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2022 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | The Uconnect display system is delaminating and it is causing the computer system to randomly start turning systems on and off as well as not allowing the navigation system to function properly. The air conditioner is effected as well as the radio and CarPlay system. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2022 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | I have Ram 1500 year 2018 , my Uconnect screen is delaminated and having issue with touch and it is working by itself selecting options and also turning on heat and increasing by itself and also when the screen is working by itself the back camera doesn’t turn on and I see online many people are having the same issue and also I contacted the dealer and they said it cost around 1500 | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Aug 2022 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | Driving down the interstate in the rain and the infotainment center starts randomly turning on and off the climate, turning off and on the heat/cool seats, turning on the backup camera, changing the stations, and just randomly changing settings. Truck is beeping alerts and very dangerous in the rain. It cannot be interrupted, this continued the whole 2 hour drive. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Aug 2022 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | Turning onto a main hwy, vehicle would not move forward. Response time for throttle was more than 5 seconds. Car behind me had to slam on their brakes on order to not hit me. Vehicle is continually having throttle response issues. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Aug 2022 | POWER TRAIN,ENGINE | The magnetic material on the tone wheel delaminated causing the engine to stall and not restart. Incident was on the curve of a busy mountain road. The failed part was kept by dealer Jacky Jones Ram in Hayesville, NC. There were no prior warnings to the failure. This same failure is described in recall 20V-475 but my vehicle VIN is not included. There are several other occurrences in online forums of the same problem occuring on vehicles that are also outside of the recall VINs. The recall should be expanded to also include at least the vehicles that actually have the problem. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Aug 2022 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | I am having problems with my 2018 Ram 1500 Uconnect system. With no input from me it asks if I want to reset the time and also gives me a message of function is not available while driving. When the Uconnect is doing this, all other functions (climate, navigation, radio, etc) are not available. Doing some research, I found this is a very common problem with Uconnect due the screen delaminating, yet Dodge is doing nothing to fix the problem except charging owners for testing and replacing. Doing some further research, I found where Dodge has issued a service bulletin (S2108000130) addressing the delamination issue but does not give a clear direction to the dealerships to fix the problem. Why this was going on, the dealership I purchased the vehicle contacted me. When I explained the problems I was having, there response was to trade the vehicle in. Instead of helping fix the problem, they wanted me to buy another vehicle. After locating the service bulletin, I took my vehicle to another dealer. They refused to even look at the vehicle and wanted to run a system test on it. I explained that you could actually see the delamination and a test would not be needed due to this. They also refused to look at the service bulletin I had located. Since this is a known issue with the Uconnect, a service bulletin being issued and class action lawsuits being filed on this matter in other states, I want my Uconnect replaced at no charge. My vehicle has under 49,000 miles on it at this time and I should not be having this problem. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Aug 2022 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | The Uconnect 8.4 inch radio is delaminating causing uncommanded inputs into the vehicles climate, sound system, and phone access. The vehicle changing music and climate is distracting, but the commands in phone access are extremely distracting and could cause safety issues to others. This is also a very common issue according to others and although some have received a FCA goodwill warranty I was not able to. The goodwill warranty tells me Chrysler and Uconnect know this is a common issue that needs to be corrected. Also, Chryslers fix is to replace the radio when the glue between the digitizer (touch screen) and main unit melts despite the main unit not being the cause of the defect. So charging people $1,000 dollars for a new unit is a bandaid issue as the unit will just delaminate again. This issue needs a more effective solution. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Aug 2022 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | My radio began changing channels, volume, settings and controls. The radio began making phone calls. The air conditioning and heat would increase and decrease on it's own. Very scary driving down the road and volume of the radio would increase without warning and could not be turned down. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jul 2022 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,BACK OVER PREVENTION | I am having an issue with the radio screen on the vehicle is delaminating. This isn't repair able buy putting a new screen or screen protector on. the only thing is to replace the radio. the radio has the reverse camera connected to it and the radio controls the heating and AC. the radio also controls or changes settings in regards to electric brakes for trailers as well as lighting and etc. This is a major safety concern as when the delamination gets to the point of full delamination it tends to short the radio out. Shorting the radio out can cause the AC and heating which in the current weather climates becomes dangerous to be in. (heat stroke, frost bite, etc). the reverse camera also would be disabled which can be a potential danger to anything in rear of vehicle that isn't seen in the mirrors. Also a device shorting out also can cause fire. FCA is aware of the issue and is only replacing vehicles under the original 36,000 warranty. for everyone else it is Over $1,800 closer to $2,500 to have issue fixed that should be a recall issue. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jul 2022 | SUSPENSION | Automatic Air Suspension defective. Truck back 2 wheels remains in "off road" mode while the front 2 tires remain in" plant" mode. Brought to carmax after owning for a month. they brought to dealer where is was serviced and fixed at the time. same issue is ongoing after now 2nd attempt to fix. replaced relay part and broke a week later. now having battery and alternator issues along with suspension is still broken. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jul 2022 | POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,SERVICE BRAKES | The lights on the dash went out while sitting still. All of them flashed on then off again, a warning light about the transmission came on and then off again. The motor surged and would not stop, the brakes would not work, the shifter would not work. The vehicle surged into oncoming traffic. | Crash: Yes Fire: No Towed | Unknown |
| Jul 2022 | SEAT BELTS | Passenger seatbelt in front will not latch happened this spring. The car dealership had my truck for 3 weeks the begining of June to clean exhaust filter and find out why every warning light on the dash was on and did not fix the seatbelt or the other two recalls according to what I pull up with my vin. I have 4 children aged 4-12 this is unacceptable. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jul 2022 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | The touch screen on my Dodge Ram has failed. A quick google search shows this is a widespread problem among all Chrysler vehicles. This is a safety issue as most of the controls for the vehicle are accessed through this screen. Further, it causes my radio to consistently change stations, turns the volume on my raid to max randomly while driving with scares me every time it transpires. I can not access any emergency services. The vehicle randomly shuts off even though it’s new. The screen randomly turns off while using it. It gets stuck on backup camera while driving or shuts the backup camera off during use. It changes the climate control consistently while driving. Turning on the heater to max when it’s 109 outside or flipping on the ac when it’s freezing. I can’t use the manual controls because the touch screen overrides them. I am constantly having to push buttons on this screen while driving to turn the volume down, but it keeps slamming back up to max with no way to stop it. I have to stop random emergency calls when it decides to make them, or control unbelievable climate conditions constantly changing while driving. If this isn’t an emergency issue that has possible grave consequences for drivers, idk what is. It is undoubtedly a safety hazard and the manufacture does not care. It is obviously a major flaw or design issue by the manufacturer and for public safety, there undoubtedly should be a recall on this. It’s not an issue of just being able to use the radio. What this screed controls, and what the defect is causing is a massive safety issue being ignored by the manufacturer and nhtsa. I’m sure this has led to fatalities, but how would we know if the people are dead? | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jun 2022 | STEERING | 2018 RAM 1500 eco diesel with LESS THAN 26,000 miles on it. My husband and I had a harrowing drive a couple weeks ago bc the power steering unit started to intermittingly cut out/fail (think hair pin turn on country roads at 55, you are CRANKING on the wheel bc power steering cut out, then halfway through the turn it decides to come back and now you are OVER steering). Again, we have less than 26k on this truck ((and it is BABIED)) so clearly this is a faulty part. We got it fixed (I have receipts), but per RAM the truck is "too old" thus "out of warranty" with no current recalls and thus my request I submitted to RAM to reimburse us for the faulty part was denied. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jun 2022 | FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | The filler pipe for filling up gas will not take the gas from gas station filler nozzle you have to constantly engage nozzle it automatically shuts off and then you have to engage nozzle multiple times to fill gas tank. Dealer wanted to replace entire tank and filler pipe for $800.00. You asked what date did this occur it’s every time you put gas into the truck. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jun 2022 | FUEL SYSTEM, DIESEL | The contact owns a 2018 Ram 1500. The contact stated that the vehicle was experiencing hard starts and was making abnormal sounds. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V406000 (Fuel System, Diesel). The contact stated that unknown parts were replaced; however, the failure recurred increasingly while driving. The contact stated that while her husband was driving 40-50 MPH, the vehicle stalled inadvertently. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact's husband was unable to veer to the side of the road. The contact's husband was able to restart the vehicle and drove to his residence. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but did not provide any assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 65,000. | Crash: No Fire: No | 65,000 |
| Jun 2022 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | There is a problem with the UConnect system where screen delaminating causes the system to be very erratic and make selections on it's own. It randomly selects any of a number of screens and makes selections within those screens causing major distraction while driving. This affects every selectable component including Radio, Media, Climate, Apps, Controls, Phone and Settings. This also takes my desire to run Max AC and instead gives Max Heat! Backup Camera, and many other issues. This is clearly worthy of investigation given the number of complaints I see on NHTSA for these issue. Please make this a recall. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jun 2022 | POWER TRAIN,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL | The contact owns a 2018 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving 60-65 MPH, the vehicle inadvertently started to decelerate while the contact was attempting to accelerate. The contact stated that after several minutes the vehicle returned to normal driving. The dealer was contacted and notified of the failure but offered no assistance. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 34,000. | Crash: No Fire: No | 34,000 |
