It felt as though the wheels turn when this happened and the steering wheel wouldn’t move. This caused a loss of control and the vehicle left the road coming to rest in the ditch. The changes are more than an annoyance and cause the driver to be distracted. the volume must be muted to stop from allowing the radio to turn up the volume and be even more distracting, but an audible beep can be heard with every change and its distraction cannot be ignored. The changes are very distracting and make it impossible to use hands free navigation. The system interrupts calls made using paired cell phone and Calls are ended irrelevant of nature. The system also places unrequested calls if the system is left on that particular screen. The Uconnect screen delaminating is very common and know issue. It was inspected by the dealership and they said the system must be replaced. what’s seem to have not been accepted is that it is a hazardous distraction and potentially stops the user from accessing help when needed until it can be replaced. I was almost hit and cause several accidents in trying to get to the shoulder of the road. I called a tow truck and again the driver and myself almost caused accidents in trying to get the truck loaded on the truck. I took it to a near by repair shot. They diagnosed the problem quickly. I then waited 6 weeks, yes 6 weeks for the crank position sensor to come in. That was back in April. Ever since then we have been trying to load the correct software because it still is not running right. This is dangerous. I also have an outstanding recall on this truck for the high pressure fuel pump. So that can go at anytime. | Aug 2023 | POWER TRAIN | I was driving my Ram 1500 along the road to my house when it slammed to a halt. Luckily I was not going to fast and I was able to push it into my driveway. The problem was that the magnetic strip on the tone wheel failed and it shut the engine off. At the time of failure, the part was not under recall so I had to pay for the parts and labor myself. A couple weeks ago I received a letter from Chrysler (FCA) that there is now an open recall for the tone wheel, (Recall 66A), but there are no parts yet available to fix it. However, it also says on the letter that if the part has already failed and if I have already paid to have it fixed that I am eligible for a reimbursement of expenses. I filled out the online form for reimbursement, however I was contacted by FCA and they stated that they will not be processing any reimbursements for Recall 66A at this time.
