Date Component Summary Severity Mileage
Jan 2026 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,STRUCTURE,UNKNOWN OR OTHER During normal winter operation with the heater in use, the center console area becomes excessively hot. I have measured surface temperatures exceeding approximately 130°F using an infrared thermometer. The affected area includes interior touch surfaces, cup holders, and a factory-installed wireless phone charging pad. The heat appears to originate from HVAC ducting routed through the center console to supply the rear seat vents. Closing the rear vents does not reduce the console temperature, indicating heat transfer through the ducting rather than airflow. The condition is most severe after a warm-soak cycle (driving to operating temperature, briefly parking, then driving again). When a phone is placed in the intended storage or wireless charging area, the device overheats and triggers thermal protection warnings. The console surfaces also become hot enough to present a potential burn risk with prolonged skin contact. These temperatures exceed recommended ambient conditions for consumer electronics and lithium-ion batteries in a normal-use interior storage and charging location. The issue was reported to a Hyundai dealership. The service department stated the heat was caused by the rear HVAC duct and considered the condition “normal.” No repair, insulation review, or corrective action was offered, and no specific temperature measurements were provided in writing. Hyundai Consumer Affairs directed me to return to the same service department, despite the concern remaining unresolved. This condition occurs during normal vehicle operation and represents a potential interior thermal safety concern.

Jan 2026 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE I’ve been driving this car for nearly a year, and during that time I’ve had multiple incidents where the Forward Collision-Avoidance system applied sudden hard braking when it wasn’t necessary, creating dangerous situations. I don't think I will be fortunate every time. I believe there is a serious issue with how the Hyundai's FCA system is operating and it needs to be investigated as a priority. Currently I am driving with it turned off every time I start the car. On my research I found this issue has been reported by multiple other drivers as well and I don't see any acknowledgement or reference from Hyundai on this so far.

Jan 2026 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE The contact owns a 2025 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that while his wife was driving at various speeds, the imminent crash braking failed to function as intended. The first time that the failure occurred, the contact's wife was driving in the rain, and a beeping sound was coming from the vehicle, and the vehicle stopped independently. The vehicle returned to normal functionality after several minutes. The contact stated that on a separate occasion, while his wife was driving in slow traffic, there was an abnormal beeping sound coming from the vehicle before the vehicle independently stopped. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle returned to normal functionality minutes later; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic, and the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 1,000.

Jan 2026 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM I’ve been driving this car for nearly a year, and during that time I have observed 6+ incidents when my instrument cluster went blank and rebooted in the middle of the road while the vehicle is moving. This seems to be widespread issue with no resolution from Hyundai what so ever. I have raised this issue with Hyundai as well.

Jan 2026 POWER TRAIN,ENGINE,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE engine RPMs surged and the car accelerated forward without foot on the gas pedal concerned about possible pedestrian accident or collision with objects and prop. damage. dealer was unable to duplicate the problem and no repair was made there is no warning...I never know when it will happen and it has occurred in a number of different circumstances

Jan 2026 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE Hard braking first occurred on a major highway with no prior notice that this would happen in close call accidents. The cars traffic had to veer away from me in order to avoid hitting me. Another highway (95) incident was a 18 wheel semi that had to move to the shoulder and could have easily totaled my car and me. I then researched this and found I could delay the action be setting the Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist mode to "Late". This helped in giving notice for some time, however the hard braking occurred again on a regular two lane small highway as I switched lanes, saw a car stopping suddenly and the brakes locked up. (This is the latest incident as dated below). There was no "Late" warning, the brakes just locked up. Being in fear of my and my families life I did further research and found that I could disable "brake assist" and only get warnings - which is what should be the default - BUT, this must be done each time I start the car. If my wife drives and forgets to do this each time I now fear for her life!!! This is not a simple matter. It is unconscionable and horrible this type of control over basic transportation is allowed to exist. This must be addressed and corrected! I'm all in on helping make meaningful change to this issue.

Jan 2026 STEERING,AIR BAGS Horn inoperative. Vehicle sets diagnostic trouble code C2A23 indicating horn switch / clock spring failure. Multiple owners report similar failures. Horn is a safety device and failure may prevent warning other drivers. This include the airbag that might be affected since the clock spring is having an issue.

Jan 2026 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE The forward collision avoidance engaged when it was unnecessary and nearly caused me to be rear ended. It doesn't slow you down, it brings your vehicle to a complete stop and leaves you stuck unable to move for a few seconds... just long enough for the person behind you to read end you. This is incredibly dangerous. I would speculate that this feature will result in many rear end wrecks and should be addressed expediently or Hyundai may risk a significant class action lawsuit.

Jan 2026 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE Had just turned out onto a major road and started to accelerate. At approximately 30 mph forward collision system alerted and applied automatic emergency brakes even though the next car was several car lengths ahead of me and there was absolutely no risk of forward collision. The vehicle immediately behind me had to slam on their brakes to avoid rear ending me. Thankfully, this was coming out of school zone so their speed was not high. At regular street speeds this malfunction would have likely resulted in a crash with injury. During the time that the automatic brake system was activated I could not override. I used gas pedal but car would not accelerate until the system stopped, perhaps 2-3 seconds later. Car was purchased used within last month and had an inspection by seller then, but I am not aware of any inspection by manufacturer/ dealer.

Jan 2026 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE 11/2/2025- The forward collision warning and the automatic emergency braking system engaged and brought my vehicle to a complete stop in the middle of the road when there was no imminent danger of a forward collision occurring. My vehicle was rear ended by the vehicle behind me as a result of the sudden and complete braking of my vehicle. This same incident happened a few days before this collision, but there was no vehicle behind my vehicle, so no rear end accident happened at that time. 12/1/2026- vehicle inspected at Jim Click Hyundai regarding the sudden stopping of the vehicle. Jim Click determined a fault code FRONT CAMERA BLOCKAGE. Dealer said they cleared the code and the problem should not return. On or around 12/8/2025 the 2025 Hyundai again had the front collision avoidance system randomly setting off alarms when the vehicle was driving on the freeway and other vehicles were traveling alongside the 2025 Hyundai. There was no emergency braking occurring at this time. 12/9/2025- the 2025 Hyundai returned to Jim Click Hyundai and at that time the dealer determined the front camera was showing an obstruction when none was there. They replaced the front camera with a new camera. 12/28/2025- the same problem of the front collision avoidance system and the automatic emergency braking engaged again, even though there was a new front camera installed on the vehicle. The 2025 Hyundai vehicle came to a complete stop in traffic. The vehicle ahead 2+ car lengths ahead swerved from the left lane to the right lane to avoid a box in the road. Driver of the 2025 Hyundai was applying the brakes when the 2025 Hyundai emergency braking system took over and the 2025 Hyundai came to a complete stop in traffic when there was no need for this. 1/2/26- 2025 Hyundai returned to Jim Click Hyundai and remains there while the Service dep't is driving the vehicle trying to diagnose the cause of the continued emergency braking problem.

Jan 2026 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE The emergency breaking system automatically engages whenever it feels it wants to. It has become extremely dangerous to drive the vehicle on a daily basis. I have been in contact with Hyundai, Hyundai consumed affairs and have brought the vehicle back to two dealerships to see if they can duplicate the problem. They have been incredulous thus far and still I am left with the safety issue. I feel very scared to drive the vehicle. I am not sure what to do at this point because Hyundai said if they can’t duplicate the problem then the vehicle is working as designed but is it going to take a serious accident for this to be taken seriously. It has been happening since September 2025. Thank you

Jan 2026 UNKNOWN OR OTHER No visible speedometer as the dashboard was either blank or flashed message "No Signal". The HUD was not showing either. Jan 2026 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE The Automatic Emergency Braking system, I think it may be called (or is a part of) the Forward Collision Avoidance system by Hyundai, triggered incorrectly while on Interstate 265. My car was travelling at about 35 MPH on the off ramp when the Automatic Emergency Braking system triggered and cause my car to rapidly decelerate to a near standstill. The vehicle following behind me had to swerve into another lane to avoid hitting my car. The problem has not been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or service center. The component has not been inspected yet, but we will be bringing it to the dealer in the near future. There were not warnings or messages that this was about to happen other than the emergency sound and light when the Automated Emergency Braking engaged. This has happened twice before on other roads and in other situations with this car.

Jan 2026 SUSPENSION,SERVICE BRAKES We have had a suspension clunk since we bought this in April 2025. Something is loose in the right rear. They have replace the right and left rear shock mount, the right rear shock and it still persists. There is a clunk or grabbing noise when the brakes are applied as it almost comes to a stop, it appears to be in the front. This has not been found, the last mechanic that looked at this said all new vehicles do this.

Jan 2026 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,SEAT BELTS,UNKNOWN OR OTHER There was an accident involving this vehicle where another vehicle pulled out in front causing a collision. There was damage only to the front of the vehicle which caused several malfunctions. Prior to the impact the break assist did not operate which may have prevented the collision but when the impact happened the seat belts locked in place and the driver side window would not roll down nor would the driver side door open. This seems to be a safety hazard as if the vehicle were on fire how would the driver be able to get out? The problem was reported to the dealer, with no resolution. I do have photos of the damage that can be available upon request.

Jan 2026 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM Vehicle dash intermittently goes out. Flickers, goes dark, or shows every warning that exists on the panel. Jan 2026 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,EXTERIOR LIGHTING,BACK OVER PREVENTION Issue Type: Intermittent Electronic System Failure / Critical Safety Hazard Description of Incident: A severe safety-related incident occurred while driving at night on 12/29/2025, at approximately 5:48 pm. Under fully dark winter conditions in MA, while the vehicle was in motion with the headlights set to AUTO, the following events occurred: Total System Blackout: All interior and exterior lighting systems suddenly failed simultaneously, including the digital instrument cluster, infotainment display, and backlighting for all illuminated buttons and controls. The complete failure of exterior lighting and interior displays resulted in an immediate loss of forward visibility and access to critical driving information. Duration: The blackout lasted approximately two seconds before the system appeared to reboot. Recurrence: Approximately ten seconds after the first incident, the same total blackout occurred again under identical conditions. Vehicle Status: The engine remained running throughout the incidents; however, the simultaneous loss of lighting and instrumentation created an extremely high-risk driving situation. This incident constitutes a critical safety failure. The vehicle had experienced repeated electrical system failures prior to this incident, and was previously presented to the dealer on 8/7/2025 for diagnosis and repair. The dealer was unable to determine the cause of the malfunction and failed to take appropriate corrective action to address these issues: 07/13/2025: The Auto Stop function became inactive, and the vehicle failed to accelerate properly after stopping at traffic lights, creating a hazardous driving condition. 07/14/2025: The phone failed to connect to the vehicle’s infotainment system. 07/17/2025: While reversing in a parking lot, the Parking Collision Warning system failed to detect a moving vehicle behind the car. No audible or visual warning was issued, rendering the safety feature ineffective in preventing a potential collision.
