| Oct 2025 | SEAT BELTS,SEATS,UNKNOWN OR OTHER | The second row captains chairs are able to be buckled when any booster or car seats are in the seat. The seat belt buckle is too far flush into the seat, so when any car seat/booster seat is in the seat, the buckle is inaccessible and blocked and the seat belt is not able to be used. We had to purchase seat belt extenders so the seat belt could be buckled. We spoke to Hyundai corporate and the local service center and they confirmed nothing could be done. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | SERVICE BRAKES | When driving at a low speed and over an uneven driving surface attempting to brake, the abs system unnecessarily engages and causes the car to lock up and skid instead of braking. This almost caused a car accident where my car would not stop like normal and almost skid into a stationary vehicle with an increased stopping distance until it stopped with a jolt. There is a class action lawsuit on this issue in Ohio and New York. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | SERVICE BRAKES | I have had multiple issues when it comes to braking on uneven roads, going over railroad tracks, and going over speed bumps in parking lots. The vehicle will start shaking erratically and lunge forward into oncoming traffic. No warnings or lights came on either. I have now taken my vehicle in to 3 different dealers to have it inspected and have had the issue replicated several times by a 1 of the dealers. The service manager from the dealer i originally bought the vehicle from refused to even inspect the vehicle and told me the only way they will even look at it was if I brought a video showing the issue of the vehicle lunging forward into oncoming traffic. They also stated that this wasn't a warranty issue and that I would be billed for it. The vehicle is brand brand new 2025 Palisade(2 months old) with 2,000 miles. I was advised to open a case with Hyundai and was then told by the case worker that this is how the vehicle is supposed to operate and there are no issues. After further research to see if anyone else has reported this issue, I found 2 class-action lawsuits filed and over 100 complaints filed with the NHSTA as well. I guess I'm not the only one having this exact issue. This is a serious safety issue and should be addressed. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | SERVICE BRAKES | I just had at least my 6th occurrence with my new 2025 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy Night Edition where, while braking at a slow speed, my abs kicked in and wouldn’t stop my car despite pushing the brake to the floor. Finally it abruptly stopped. In all situations, the road surfaces seemed to be slightly uneven or slightly bumpy. Each time this happened, I was traveling very slow and no faster than 10-15 mph. I’ve had my car for less than 5 months and now has happened at least 6 times. I nearly missed rear ending the vehicle in front of me in all cases because the abs was aggressively pulsating but not stopping until almost hitting the vehicle in front of me. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | SERVICE BRAKES | The brakes on the car almost caused an accident where we would have rear ended the car in front of us. We were in a line of cars exiting a gravel parking lot traveling 5-10 mph. I pressed on the brake pedal as the car in front of us began to brake and our antilock brakes engaged and our car continued to travel forward towards the car in front of us. Luckily the car in front of us pulled out onto the road and we did not hit them. Similar issues have happened a handful of times since buying in March of 2025. I am an experienced driver and am familiar with how antilock brakes work and when they should engage, these instances have not been such cases. It seems it will only be a matter of time until this causes accidents. Another instance was when approaching a stop sign and hitting rumble strips in the road. This improper engaging of antilock brakes can very easily lead to car not stopping in time putting myself, my family, and other vehicles traveling on road at risk. I called the dealer and they said there is no issue and the antilock brakes are acting as they should. I have owned several cars over my lifetime and never had antilock brakes engage in these same instances. Upon investigation online, other drivers are experiencing similar issues and Hyundai is denying the issue. I have an appointment scheduled to get it looked at. There were no warnings, messages or other symptoms of the problem. How many people are going to have to report the same issue or how many people are going to have to be hurt before action is taken. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | SERVICE BRAKES | It doesn’t brake on uneven surfaces because of ABS sensor issue. This has been reported by many owners of 2023-2025 Hyundai Palisade. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,SERVICE BRAKES | When driving over railroad tracks or entry gates, the vehicle skids forward in an uncontrollable manner and vehicle is unable to stop when I press on the brake pedal. I have to put the car in “park” to stop the vehicle from rolling into oncoming traffic or colliding into the car in front of me. It appears to be an ABS problem. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER,SERVICE BRAKES | My location of work has metal grates (to close a metal gate) at the entrance and exit. I’ve experienced many many times at the exit as I am breaking the breaks slipping. I’ve noticed it other times as I break while driving over uneven surfaces. I finally started digging because that’s not normal and it was brand new. It appears others have had the same issue. It doesn’t look like a recall has been issued, but definitely needs to be. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | My car has had numerous issue. The first issue was with the front end collision warning system. I had a sensor warning come on twice saying it may not be in use, but then it falsely predicted a collision resulting in the car slamming on the brakes when nothing was there. I almost go rear-ended as a result. The dealer found that the radar system was completely broken and the sensor was facing to the side instead of the front. I bought the car brand new and there was no evidence of damage and it has never been explained how it got damaged. They replaced the system and that was resolved, but the sensors continue acting strange. It's now turning on the camera and telling me to check my surroundings when I'm stopped at a red light. There is nothing happening around me. The problem that is ongoing and has yet to be resolved is my brakes. It's an intermittent issue, but when I go over rough surfaces and hit the brakes I get a crunching/grinding noise that sounds like it's grinding rocks. This happens intermittently. The dealer was eventually able to replicate it and is saying it's the ABS system and that it's normal, but cannot do anything to repair it. However, it is not normal for ABS to come on going over a bump and it shouldn't sound like that. When this happens, the brakes don't seem to respond properly and as quickly as it should. I have not gotten any warning lights for the brake issue. It does put the parking brake on at times for no reason when I'm on a completely flat surface. The car was out of service for 21 days in a month and a half of owning it. I have a car that I don't feel safe in and I don't trust what it's going to do. It's problem after problem and corporate Hyundai doesn't want to do anything about it. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | SERVICE BRAKES | ABS on this vehicle is activating extremely aggressively while driving normally on regular street roads, The car shakes and slides and does not stop until the abs stops doing its thing the distance is very far compared to regular braking. This happened multiple times even when coming to a stop sign i found myself in the middle of the intersection and almost got hit definitely not safe whatsoever. The car is fairly new I'm just worried if its doing this often on regular roads what would it do when it snows. I saw online many people are having this very same issue and Hyundai should fix and do a recall on this matter. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | SERVICE BRAKES | 2025 Palisade 1,700 miles. Brand new. When I approached a stop sign, there was a small pothole just before it. When braking towards this sign, the front left tire traveled over the pothole. The car then shook violently and braking appeared to have halted for a moment. A search online revealed many people having similar issues with potholes/uneven roads and the brakes not functioning during this shaking period. It is suspected this is an antilock brake system. The issue is that it is too sensitive. Needs a recall to retune the sensitivity of this. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | LANE DEPARTURE | LKA forces vehicle to a left or right side of lane position and continuously provides steering input resisting driver in maintaining center of lane position. Condition has existed from day of dealer delivery. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | Anytime driving on a bumpy road the brakes do not work correctly. When driving on a bumpy road I can feel the abs take over and I lose control over braking. Eventually I have to slam on the brakes or the computer does. Feels extremely unsafe since there are lots of brick roads around me. This has happened since I purchased the vehicle. I just researched this issue and it seems to be known a issue. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | POWER TRAIN,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,SERVICE BRAKES | ABS kicks in with even the slightest bump. Had an incident a couple weeks ago where I went over a bump while leaving a store and the car almost did not stop before hitting oncoming traffic. Have had issues for 10 months with the car not accelerating properly or shifting properly. Have tried to drive in every mode (smart, sport, comfort) and nothing makes it better. I have had the vehicle to the shop 3 times. First 2 times said no problem. The third time stated my rear seal is leaking and transmission is leaking as well as 4x4 coupler needs replaced. I feel unsafe to drive in this vehicle with me and my children. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | SERVICE BRAKES | 1.A rattle from the brake pedal (pulse, vibration) when braking on rough roads. 2. I am not feeling safe and for my family when the problem occurs. 3. The dealership service center (keating hyundai) stated " Could not recreate concern". 4. I purchased the vehicle new. I did not know if the dealership inspected before it was sold to me. 5. No, there is no warning lamps. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | A Class action lawsuit has been filed for this Issue which Hyundai refuses to acknowledge our 2025 Palisade is having this issue on a regular basis. When it occurs the car becomes very difficult to stop we feel as do the lawyers in the class action in New York California and Ohio that this is a serious safety situation. We have had the car to the dealer and as previous owners have stated it is not acknowledged. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2025 | SERVICE BRAKES | BRAKES WON'T WORK AS EXPECTED ON SLOPES/UNEVEN ROADS | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2025 | SUSPENSION | The contact owns a 2025 Hyundai Palisade. The contact stated that while hauling a trailer and attempting to accelerate at various speeds, the vehicle was bouncing and the tires lost traction before being able to accelerate as needed. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to raise or lower as the shock absorbers were designed to perform. The vehicle was taken to the dealer but was not diagnosed. The contact called another dealer, Hyundai of Noblesville (17665 Terry Lee Crossing Suite A, Noblesville, IN 46060); who advised the contact to bring the vehicle to be inspected. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure that occurred and filed the case. The failure mileage was approximately 8,000. | Crash: No Fire: No | 8,000 |
| Sep 2025 | SERVICE BRAKES | pulling out of a dark parking lot at night, slowing to a stop at the stop sign. The road was bumpy and the abs kicked in for no reason, the brakes started juddering like crazy and the vehicle refused to stop. A loaded pickup was driving on the street and I was headed right in its path. I twice tried releasing the pedal and then reapplying it. the send time finally worked and the car came to a hard stop. All occupants were thrown forward. Seven year old in the back in a booster was complaining that the seat belt hurt her neck from the force of the stop. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2025 | LANE DEPARTURE | . What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? ---------- Nothing failed but the lane assist feature forces the car to drive hugging the left lane and not on the center of the road. This can be very dangerous on a freeway when passing big wide trucks. If you use the cruise control this feature automatically turns itself on. . How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? ------ When the lane assist is turned on the car drives close to the left line and not on the center of the road and this could be very dangerous when passing large wide vehicles or those with wide trailers. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? ------------ Yes. I took it to the dealer and they said that's how the car was designed and there is nothing they can do. They asked me to contact the Hyundai Customer Affairs. I opened a case number with Hyundai Customer Affairs. They said that if the dealer did not find a problem then there is nothing they can do. I am stuck with the problem. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? ------------------- See above. When I googled to see if other people are complaining about the issue, I found out that there are other people complaining but no formal complaint has been put forward. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? ------------ The issue has existed from the dealer. There are no warnings or anything | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2025 | SERVICE BRAKES | While gently slowing/braking on warm and dry pavement, the vehicle proceeded over bumpy railroad tracks which seemingly activated the Anti-lock brake system and prohibited the vehicle from stopping effectively. I had to turn the vehicle away from the vehicle stopped ahead of me because my vehicle was not stopping in time and I narrowly avoiding an accident due to this situation. Due to this inappropriate activation of the ABS system, the vehicle took significantly longer to come to a stop, and once the ABS stopped pulsating, the vehicle abruptly stopped, however I already had to turn away from the vehicle in front of me to avoid rear-ending it. This is an exceptionally unsafe situation that will inevitable cause injury or death should someone be driving fast up to the car in front of them and not expect this to occur. This is an extremely unexpected vehicle equipment response on a perfectly dry road without any debris/etc to cause tire slippage. Having done some online research of the issue, this seems to be a frequent problem experienced by other Palisade owners however Hyundai is not doing anything about it. We will have the vehicle inspected when we bring it in for the recent recall that Hyundai identified regarding seatbelts (however no fix has been identified for it as of yet). | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2025 | SERVICE BRAKES,BACK OVER PREVENTION,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | When driving on uneven bumpy roads, I find my ABS gives a collision warning and engages the brakes. I’ve almost crashed once already and I don’t know what to do. Also when parking in tight spots, the ABS turns on due to collision warning and instantly activates the brakes, causing me to almost hit the cars in front or behind me. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2025 | SERVICE BRAKES | The ABS system has malfunctioned 4 times now while braking when going over an uneven surface- railroad tracks, uneven older roads in the area. The car will start shaking and lunge forward even with the brake all the way down to floor. This has caused me to almost hit 4 vehicles now. Yes, it is available for inspection. My safety, as well as others on the road are put at risk until this issue is fixed. The first dealership i took the vehicle to on 8/28/25 told me there were no issues and couldn't find anything wrong. The problem has since been replicated by the 2nd dealer who has looked at the vehicle 9/22/25. No warnings or messages popped up on the dash at any occurrence. Their response was that they called the manufacturer and explained the issue and they were told that this is normal and is intended to do this- continue to move towards other vehicles when brake is engaged. This does not seem to be correct and appears that there is even a class-action lawsuit for the same issue that was filed early 2025. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2025 | SERVICE BRAKES | Happened to both my wife and I. As we attempt to stop the vehicle (for her at a stop sign, for me in a parking space), the car engages ABS and the car won't stop. Feels like you're trying to brake on ice. Very dangerous, I almost drove into a wall, she almost hit someone. We discovered that they have identified this as a problem and have offered no solution. I was told by the dealer "just tell your wife to go slow over speed bumps," and I corrected him that it seems to have nothing to do with speed bumps or not. And besides, that is not a correction that will make the car safe. Also discovered a class action lawsuit filed on May 9th 2025 for this exact issue. Many many driver reports online. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2025 | SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | In multiple instances, the ABS is engaging on uneven surfaces when it should not. It occurs when pulling into my driveway and just happened this morning in the car drop off line. I was going no more than 5mph when the car in front of me stopped. I hit the brakes and the ABS engaged (along with the crash alarm) causing a skid. No accident occurred, but it was unsettling. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
