| Jul 2026 | STEERING | The contact owns a 2025 Honda Civic. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the steering wheel started sticking and was difficult to turn to the left or the right. The steering wheel was sticking while accelerating around corners. The contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V744000 (Steering); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where it was diagnosed with steering rack assembly failure. The vehicle was not repaired because the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 38,000. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |

| Jul 2026 | POWER TRAIN,ENGINE | Reported this to the dealer in June 2025 a month after I bought the car. Dealer checked the car & couldn't find a problem causing this. Problem continues & is getting worse. I believe problem with CVT - vehicle jerks, hesitates and shudders in low speeds upon deceleration and acceleration. Not a smooth ride at all. I had an older Civic with CVT and husband has a 2022 Civic with CVT and never had or have this issue. Will take to the dealer again. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |

| Jun 2026 | STEERING,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | My 2025 civic presents the dangerous defect for sticky steering from the recall already placed on models 2022 to 2025 under recall 24V-744 but my VIN number is not listed so the dealer wants to charge me the full replacement cost . Please help me include my VIN to this well know and dangerous recall. | Jun 2026 | STEERING,LANE DEPARTURE | Hello, I am writing to formally request escalation and review of a potential vehicle safety concern involving my recent accident. I previously filed a complaint with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), contacted Honda, State Farm, and the investigating police department regarding this incident. I am following up because I am concerned this may represent a broader public safety issue, not limited to my individual case. Given the nature of the incident and vehicle behavior involved, I respectfully request: * Confirmation that my complaint has been received and assigned for review * Evaluation of whether this issue may indicate a potential safety defect or recurring pattern * Preservation and review of all relevant vehicle data, including Event Data Recorder (EDR), ECU/diagnostic logs, and any available telematics data * Any guidance on additional information or documentation needed to support a safety investigation I am concerned that if similar incidents are occurring in other vehicles, this may present a risk to public safety. I am requesting that this matter be reviewed accordingly for potential defect or safety trend analysis. Please confirm receipt of this request and advise on the next steps in the review process. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter. Sincerely, [XXX] Report# [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6) | Crash: Yes Fire: No Towed | Unknown |
| Jun 2026 | STEERING,LANE DEPARTURE | After using the lane assist the steering wheel becomes sticky when I turn it off. Then if I turn it back on letting the lane assist correct my driving to turning it back off when turning around corners my steering wheel becomes really sticky. Then when driving the vehicle with lane asssist on the steering wheel will feel slightly different then I’ll turn it back off and it won’t stick around corners anymore (so then I can’t use my lane assist without my steering wheel getting sticky again) it really makes me worried. I don’t know if it’s connected but it makes me feel unsafe. When getting a hold of the dealership, they told me that I had to pay $150 to get a diagnostic because I didn’t have any active recalls. Which I think is a little crazy considering I keep reading about all these recalls about sticky steering wheels, but not specifically mine even though I’m experiencing the same thing they are. I’ve talked to somebody about three different times about recalls on this and they just keep saying that I don’t have a recall, but I’m telling them about what I’m experiencing is similar to people with active recalls, but they will still charge me a diagnostic fee that I can’t afford. And tells me I’m not in warranty. So my safety is at risk.. I have children in this car. I have pets in this car and I have family in this car….. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jun 2026 | STEERING,POWER TRAIN,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | 2025 Honda Civic Hatchback experiencing dangerous mechanical binding, sticking, and notching in the steering column. The defect is strictly thermal, escalating significantly in extreme Arizona heat and/ or after driving for a prolonged duration. This requires excessive driver effort to break the steering wheel free from center, risking over-correction and loss of vehicle control. Additionally, vehicle experiences intermittent powertrain jerking and hesitation during low-speed acceleration. Under active factory warranty, the vehicle was towed to a local Honda dealership. The Service Director initially pushed back significantly, attempting to dismiss the safety keywords and label a major steering defect as a vague 'multi-system failure' on the printed Repair Order. After consumer refusal to accept the vehicle, the Service Director capitulated, personally authorizing a Repair Order explicitly documenting in handwriting: 'Also Steering Sticky while CAR in motion. Also vehicle jerky at low Speeds.' The Service Director physically signed next to these terms. The Service Director explicitly acknowledged that the symptoms sound like the NHTSA recall 24V-744, but stated they must put up to 300 miles on the vehicle to 'replicate' the issue before replacing the steering rack due to fear of corporate financial chargebacks, actively attempting to force a consumer to keep an unsafe vehicle unless able to replicate. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jun 2026 | STEERING,AIR BAGS,LANE DEPARTURE | i was driving on the highway with lane assist on and i can feel it correcting me even though it wasn’t needing to be but i thought maybe i was driving a little bad but then i contirue to drive with it on and i instantly get jerked to the left like if it saw something and swerved and we spun out and almost went to another highway oncoming traffic , my passenger stated the wheel was shaking the same instant before hand but we crashed and the vehicle is waiting to be looked at currently | Crash: Yes Fire: No Injuries: 2 Towed | Unknown |
| May 2026 | STEERING,LANE DEPARTURE | During normal driving in rainy conditions, I experienced a sudden and unexpected loss of vehicle control involving steering behavior. At the time of the incident, the lane-keeping/driver-assist system was active, and I had both hands on the steering wheel while actively controlling the vehicle. Without any prior warning lights, dashboard messages, or alerts, the vehicle suddenly began to behave abnormally and unexpectedly pulled/dragged. I experienced a sudden loss of effective steering control and was unable to fully correct or regain control of the vehicle before a collision occurred. The incident happened abruptly without any gradual warning or system notification. Road conditions were wet due to rain, but there was no prior indication of mechanical or electronic malfunction before the event. Following the crash, the vehicle was declared a total loss by insurance. There are no open recalls listed for my VIN at this time. I am reporting this incident due to the sudden steering/control behavior and potential safety concern. | Crash: Yes Fire: No Injuries: 3 Towed | Unknown |
| May 2026 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | ADAS system malfunction. All systems failure rotating alerts on dash. Cruise control doesn't work.Alerts for failure see your dealer for emergency braking system, lane departure and lane keeping, forward and parking collision..everything failed. | May 2026 | STEERING | The contact owns a 2025 Honda Civic. The contact stated that while driving and turning the steering wheel does not come back to center when turned and the driver experienced resistance, sticking and binding while turning. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that the steering wheel gear box needed to replaced. The manufacturer was not yet notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 54,000. | Crash: No Fire: No | 54,000 |
| May 2026 | SEAT BELTS,SEATS,LANE DEPARTURE | Accident happened while driving on a two-way county road without center lane markings. The driver was leaning to the right of the road. The lane keep assisting overcorrected to the left hitting a culvert. Upon the crash the seat unlocked from its position and slid towards the steering wheel. The seat belt did not lock in time to prevent the seat from considerable forward movement. The airbag located inside steering wheel seemed only partially inflated. No other airbags deployed. The combined malfunctions resulted in the driver's left foot being crushed (various fractures and joints dislodged), and right ankle fracture and dislocation. The driver was the only one involved in the cash. However, other drivers could have been affected by the sudden change of lanes - especially if driving the opposite direction. The issue has not been reproduced as far as known (unable to find any reports, images or videos online). There was no inspection following the accident. The car had previously shown unexplainable lane keeping assistance overcorrections before, but there were no system failure warning lights. The seat sometimes needed readjustment (the locking system would click, but the seat would not remain in place). Summary of issues: -Lane keep assisting - overcorrected leading to hitting a culvert on the opposite side of the road. -Driver's seat unlocked forward toward the steering wheel when car hit the culvert. -Seatbelt did not lock appropriately to prevent seat moving forward toward the steering wheel. I am unsure if the car is still available for inspection. It was totaled by the insurance company. | Apr 2026 | STRUCTURE,UNKNOWN OR OTHER | I was driving merging onto the freeway and my sunroof completely shattered, no car was in front of me so, nor was I driving under a bridge, it just completely shattered. Looking as if someone grabbed a hammer or punched it, I know a rock wouldn’t shatter it, maybe crack but no it shattered. The glass looks like it lifted too , not caved in , so almost as if there was too much pressure as well. Have seen similar cases , not sure if any have reported but yes I have seen similar issues occurring. Thankfully I had my headliner closed , so the glass fell on there I had to pull over and figure it out, I did not touch the glass at all, as I’m currently having my Honda Dealership look at it. Just hope it doesn’t happen to others | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2026 | STEERING | My car is experiencing steering problem- it is sticking and makes it hard to steer, I took it to get diagnosed today and I was told I need a new steering gear box because it is faulty. This is a common recall for the year make and model car I have and I was told that my vin number doesn’t not have any recall yet it is still experiencing the same exact problem as the recall. The car is a year old but it’s been going on for months and I assumed it was normal because it’s never been mentioned until I found out about the recall and brought it in specifically for that reason | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2026 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | This vehicle suffers from phantom braking. With the adaptive cruise control set, at times, in the display of the instrument cluster, the display shows a semi, motorcycle or car that is not there in real life. When this happens the car applies the brakes and starts slowing down. Sometimes this is bad enough that the collision warning message comes on and the brake application is very aggressive. The type of weather or road surface does not seem to matter. It seems to be very random. This happens once a week. Not just on the date provided below. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2026 | STEERING,SUSPENSION,WHEELS | Warranty work has not been completed and I have had this issue for months. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2026 | STEERING,SUSPENSION,LANE DEPARTURE | A complaint is being filed regarding a **2025 Honda Civic** involving failure to diagnose and repair a safety-related suspension defect during the warranty period. While under warranty (20,000 miles), a **clunking noise from the rear suspension** was repeatedly reported to Tamaroff Honda [XXX] ). Despite multiple service visits and complaints to both the dealership and American Honda (Case #XXX and #XXX), no proper diagnosis or repair was performed. After continued inaction, another Honda dealership identified a **broken rear shock absorber with an active fluid leak**, a safety-critical defect affecting vehicle stability and control. This condition existed and was reported during the warranty period but was dismissed. There is also a pattern of complaint mishandling, including lack of follow-up and unresolved case activity. Requests for service records and complaint documentation have not been fulfilled. This complaint requests investigation into the safety risk and failure to diagnose and repair a known defect during warranty. | Mar 2026 | SERVICE BRAKES | I was turning into a parking space in my 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid Touring, in a plaza area. As I depressed the brake, I felt some pressure, but then all of a sudden it went straight to the ground, which caused my car to go over a landscape median, and hit the tree in the middle of it, causing my car to hit a stationary vehicle on the other side to the right, which in-turn caused my car to flip on it's drivers side. All of the airbags deployed and my driver's window was broken. My arm was injured and scraped but not broken. As I was waiting for the EMTs while sitting there, I noticed a warning circle with Bright Red Bold Letters that said BRAKE in the middle. My only thought was to shut the car off immediately. The manufacturer and insurance have given me a runaround regarding having someone to investigate/inspect the brake system, no success so far. I have a few days left for the insurance to hold it, being that it's been deemed a total loss. The CHP report is still not out. Hopefully the insurance will give me an extension for the hold. I had reported this by phone to NHTSA on 2/13/2026 and they did give me a claim number, but I don't see anywhere where I can add the claim number. | Crash: Yes Fire: No Injuries: 1 Towed Medical attention | Unknown |
| Mar 2026 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER,BACK OVER PREVENTION | The infotainment system stopped working and the dealer said parts were on back order and that they have no eta for the replacement parts. It's been two months. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Mar 2026 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | The contact owns a 2025 Honda Civic. The contact stated while driving approximately 64 MPH, the Forward Collision Avoidance system unintendedly activated without a person or a vehicle nearby. No warning lights were illuminated. The failure reoccurred on several occasions. The vehicle was taken to a dealer to be diagnosed; however, the cause of the failure was undetermined. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer to be diagnosed; however, the cause of the failure was not yet determined. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact researched and was made aware of a Class Action Lawsuit associated with the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 6,555. | Crash: No Fire: No | 6,555 |
| Mar 2026 | STEERING,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,WHEELS | This car is have been giving me issues for months even tried to trade in for months but got denied this is an safety hazard i can lose my life but the steering power is bad is tight the braking system is sensitive everything is difficult and expensive it’s killing my pockets which why I can’t pay my car note and why should I pay for a car that’s not safe ! | Mar 2026 | STEERING,UNKNOWN OR OTHER,SERVICE BRAKES | While driving, the steering wheel suddenly became stiff and difficult to turn, making it hard to control the vehicle. This happened unexpectedly and created a serious safety risk, as I could have lost control and caused an accident. At the same time, the braking response did not feel normal, which made the situation even more dangerous. This issue has occurred despite previous repair attempts, and the problem remains unresolved. I am very concerned about the safety of this vehicle and the risk it poses to myself and others on the road. No warning lights appeared before the issue happened. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Mar 2026 | STEERING | The electric power steering is malfunctioning. At highway speeds, steering becomes sticky. It is difficult to make small adjustments (such as to stay within the lane), leading to overcorrections to compensate. I worry that the stickiness and associated overcompensation may lead cause a crash if it persists. The issue has not been confirmed by a dealer or service center nor inspected by manufacturer, police or insurance company. However, I have called Honda and it is a known issue. There is already a recall for 2022 to 2025 Honda Civic's for this problem in the electric power steering, but my car is not currently included in the recall. I did not have any warning messages. I first noticed this issue on 3/9/26 when my car had 12800 miles on it. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Feb 2026 | STRUCTURE | Steering wheel coating is peeling off on my 2025 Honda Civic, VIN 2HGFE2F51SH537065. This appears to be a manufacturing defect. The dealership did not resolve the issue. Requesting investigation. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
