| May 2026 | STEERING,LANE DEPARTURE | During normal driving in rainy conditions, I experienced a sudden and unexpected loss of vehicle control involving steering behavior. At the time of the incident, the lane-keeping/driver-assist system was active, and I had both hands on the steering wheel while actively controlling the vehicle. Without any prior warning lights, dashboard messages, or alerts, the vehicle suddenly began to behave abnormally and unexpectedly pulled/dragged. I experienced a sudden loss of effective steering control and was unable to fully correct or regain control of the vehicle before a collision occurred. The incident happened abruptly without any gradual warning or system notification. Road conditions were wet due to rain, but there was no prior indication of mechanical or electronic malfunction before the event. Following the crash, the vehicle was declared a total loss by insurance. There are no open recalls listed for my VIN at this time. I am reporting this incident due to the sudden steering/control behavior and potential safety concern. | Crash: Yes Fire: No Injuries: 3 Towed | Unknown |
| May 2026 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | ADAS system malfunction. All systems failure rotating alerts on dash. Cruise control doesn't work.Alerts for failure see your dealer for emergency braking system, lane departure and lane keeping, forward and parking collision..everything failed. Car was drivable and dealership has service four times without success. All safety systems down and places occupants at risk. Now replacing whole system carriage. We have been a couple of months trying to track source. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2026 | STEERING | The contact owns a 2025 Honda Civic. The contact stated that while driving and turning the steering wheel does not come back to center when turned and the driver experienced resistance, sticking and binding while turning. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that the steering wheel gear box needed to replaced. The manufacturer was not yet notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 54,000. | Crash: No Fire: No | 54,000 |
| May 2026 | SEAT BELTS,SEATS,LANE DEPARTURE | Accident happened while driving on a two-way county road without center lane markings. The driver was leaning to the right of the road. The lane keep assisting overcorrected to the left hitting a culvert. Upon the crash the seat unlocked from its position and slid towards the steering wheel. The seat belt did not lock in time to prevent the seat from considerable forward movement. The airbag located inside steering wheel seemed only partially inflated. No other airbags deployed. The combined malfunctions resulted in the driver's left foot being crushed (various fractures and joints dislodged), and right ankle fracture and dislocation. The driver was the only one involved in the cash. However, other drivers could have been affected by the sudden change of lanes - especially if driving the opposite direction. The issue has not been reproduced as far as known (unable to find any reports, images or videos online). There was no inspection following the accident. The car had previously shown unexplainable lane keeping assistance overcorrections before, but there were no system failure warning lights. The seat sometimes needed readjustment (the locking system would click, but the seat would not remain in place). Summary of issues: -Lane keep assisting - overcorrected leading to hitting a culvert on the opposite side of the road. -Driver's seat unlocked forward toward the steering wheel when car hit the culvert. -Seatbelt did not lock appropriately to prevent seat moving forward toward the steering wheel. I am unsure if the car is still available for inspection. It was totaled by the insurance company. | Apr 2026 | STRUCTURE,UNKNOWN OR OTHER | I was driving merging onto the freeway and my sunroof completely shattered, no car was in front of me so, nor was I driving under a bridge, it just completely shattered. Looking as if someone grabbed a hammer or punched it, I know a rock wouldn’t shatter it, maybe crack but no it shattered. The glass looks like it lifted too , not caved in , so almost as if there was too much pressure as well. Have seen similar cases , not sure if any have reported but yes I have seen similar issues occurring. Thankfully I had my headliner closed , so the glass fell on there I had to pull over and figure it out, I did not touch the glass at all, as I’m currently having my Honda Dealership look at it. Just hope it doesn’t happen to others | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2026 | STEERING | My car is experiencing steering problem- it is sticking and makes it hard to steer, I took it to get diagnosed today and I was told I need a new steering gear box because it is faulty. This is a common recall for the year make and model car I have and I was told that my vin number doesn’t not have any recall yet it is still experiencing the same exact problem as the recall. The car is a year old but it’s been going on for months and I assumed it was normal because it’s never been mentioned until I found out about the recall and brought it in specifically for that reason | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2026 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | This vehicle suffers from phantom braking. With the adaptive cruise control set, at times, in the display of the instrument cluster, the display shows a semi, motorcycle or car that is not there in real life. When this happens the car applies the brakes and starts slowing down. Sometimes this is bad enough that the collision warning message comes on and the brake application is very aggressive. The type of weather or road surface does not seem to matter. It seems to be very random. This happens once a week. Not just on the date provided below. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2026 | STEERING,SUSPENSION,WHEELS | Warranty work has not been completed and I have had this issue for months. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2026 | STEERING,SUSPENSION,LANE DEPARTURE | A complaint is being filed regarding a **2025 Honda Civic** involving failure to diagnose and repair a safety-related suspension defect during the warranty period. While under warranty (20,000 miles), a **clunking noise from the rear suspension** was repeatedly reported to Tamaroff Honda [XXX] ). Despite multiple service visits and complaints to both the dealership and American Honda (Case #XXX and #XXX), no proper diagnosis or repair was performed. After continued inaction, another Honda dealership identified a **broken rear shock absorber with an active fluid leak**, a safety-critical defect affecting vehicle stability and control. This condition existed and was reported during the warranty period but was dismissed. There is also a pattern of complaint mishandling, including lack of follow-up and unresolved case activity. Requests for service records and complaint documentation have not been fulfilled. This complaint requests investigation into the safety risk and failure to diagnose and repair a known defect during warranty. | Mar 2026 | SERVICE BRAKES | I was turning into a parking space in my 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid Touring, in a plaza area. As I depressed the brake, I felt some pressure, but then all of a sudden it went straight to the ground, which caused my car to go over a landscape median, and hit the tree in the middle of it, causing my car to hit a stationary vehicle on the other side to the right, which in-turn caused my car to flip on it's drivers side. All of the airbags deployed and my driver's window was broken. My arm was injured and scraped but not broken. As I was waiting for the EMTs while sitting there, I noticed a warning circle with Bright Red Bold Letters that said BRAKE in the middle. My only thought was to shut the car off immediately. The manufacturer and insurance have given me a runaround regarding having someone to investigate/inspect the brake system, no success so far. I have a few days left for the insurance to hold it, being that it's been deemed a total loss. The CHP report is still not out. Hopefully the insurance will give me an extension for the hold. I had reported this by phone to NHTSA on 2/13/2026 and they did give me a claim number, but I don't see anywhere where I can add the claim number. | Crash: Yes Fire: No Injuries: 1 Towed Medical attention | Unknown |
| Mar 2026 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER,BACK OVER PREVENTION | The infotainment system stopped working and the dealer said parts were on back order and that they have no eta for the replacement parts. It's been two months. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Mar 2026 | STEERING,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,WHEELS | This car is have been giving me issues for months even tried to trade in for months but got denied this is an safety hazard i can lose my life but the steering power is bad is tight the braking system is sensitive everything is difficult and expensive it’s killing my pockets which why I can’t pay my car note and why should I pay for a car that’s not safe ! I want to be put another vehicle | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Mar 2026 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | The contact owns a 2025 Honda Civic. The contact stated while driving approximately 64 MPH, the Forward Collision Avoidance system unintendedly activated without a person or a vehicle nearby. No warning lights were illuminated. The failure reoccurred on several occasions. The vehicle was taken to a dealer to be diagnosed; however, the cause of the failure was undetermined. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer to be diagnosed; however, the cause of the failure was not yet determined. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact researched and was made aware of a Class Action Lawsuit associated with the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 6,555. | Crash: No Fire: No | 6,555 |
| Mar 2026 | STEERING,UNKNOWN OR OTHER,SERVICE BRAKES | While driving, the steering wheel suddenly became stiff and difficult to turn, making it hard to control the vehicle. This happened unexpectedly and created a serious safety risk, as I could have lost control and caused an accident. At the same time, the braking response did not feel normal, which made the situation even more dangerous. This issue has occurred despite previous repair attempts, and the problem remains unresolved. I am very concerned about the safety of this vehicle and the risk it poses to myself and others on the road. No warning lights appeared before the issue happened. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Mar 2026 | STEERING | The electric power steering is malfunctioning. At highway speeds, steering becomes sticky. It is difficult to make small adjustments (such as to stay within the lane), leading to overcorrections to compensate. I worry that the stickiness and associated overcompensation may lead cause a crash if it persists. The issue has not been confirmed by a dealer or service center nor inspected by manufacturer, police or insurance company. However, I have called Honda and it is a known issue. There is already a recall for 2022 to 2025 Honda Civic's for this problem in the electric power steering, but my car is not currently included in the recall. I did not have any warning messages. I first noticed this issue on 3/9/26 when my car had 12800 miles on it. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Feb 2026 | STRUCTURE | Steering wheel coating is peeling off on my 2025 Honda Civic, VIN 2HGFE2F51SH537065. This appears to be a manufacturing defect. The dealership did not resolve the issue. Requesting investigation. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Feb 2026 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER | the car has a major water leak causing excessive water around the sunroof and back rear windows. it’s causing the vehicle to fog up which causes a impairment for seeing outside and what’s around. over night the vehicle windows freeze up and become extremely wet and get into electrical components. the sensors stop working and no longer activate until the car “drys” up. this takes several days. previously the car had to be taken to the shop. the hybrid battery is still having problems and is draining most of the gas out. this vehicle is a extreme safety hazard to the excessive fog. the defroster does not help with anything. i have taken it to the shop 2 times & requested a buy back from honda corporation which was denied. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Feb 2026 | SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC | The contact owned a 2025 Honda Civic. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed into a parking spot, the brake pedal was depressed and went to the floorboard. The vehicle failed to come to a stop. The vehicle drove over a parking median in front and struck a tree. The contact then attempted to steer the vehicle to the left, but crashed into another vehicle on the passenger side. The vehicle flipped onto its driver's side, where it came to a stop. The message "Brake" was then displayed. The air bags deployed, shattering the front driver's side window. OnStar came on the speakers and informed the contact that help was on the way. The EMT arrived, and the contact was able to exit the vehicle through the sunroof. The contact sustained injuries to her left shoulder and arm, as well as a sore neck and stomach. Medical attention was received. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard, but had not yet been deemed totaled by the insurance company. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 8,000. | Crash: Yes Fire: No Injuries: 1 Towed Medical attention | 8,000 |
| Jan 2026 | VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | “Collision mitigation system problem see dealer” warning! Once at unknown mileage around 6,000 and once at around 10,000 miles. Random vehicle braking around 6-8 times in 12,000 miles with no reason. Braking happens while in cruise control. Both times that the warning messages appeared it was along with warnings for adaptive cruise control, automatic braking, lane departure, lane keep assisting. Many warnings all flashed consecutively with the final warning about collision mitigation system problem see dealer. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2026 | STEERING,SUSPENSION,SERVICE BRAKES | The vehicle has experienced ongoing steering-related noise and vibration during driving since early ownership. The issue is noticeable at various speeds and road conditions and affects confidence in steering control and overall vehicle stability. The vehicle has been inspected and serviced multiple times at an authorized dealership, but the condition has not been resolved. During prior service visits, the condition was characterized as unlikely to recur; however, the same issue continued to reappear after service. Following the most recent service visit, the vehicle also began exhibiting brake-related issues, including abnormal noise and behavior during braking. These combined steering, braking, and stability issues affect vehicle control and create a safety concern while driving. The vehicle remains available for inspection upon request. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2026 | POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE | The engine and electrical/power train system malfunctioned, causing the vehicle to stall, shut off, and shake without warning. The failure results in complete loss of power and inability to move the vehicle. This defect has occurred multiple times and has been inspected by the dealership over five occasions, but the problem has not been fixed. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2026 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE,LANE DEPARTURE | I am filing a formal safety-related complaint regarding my 2025 Honda Civic Sport Touring Hybrid and the performance of its driver assistance systems. This vehicle uses a camera-only driver assist and lane keeping system. I previously owned a 2018 Honda Civic Touring that used both radar and camera. The earlier radar+camera system performed significantly better, maintained the lane more accurately, and provided smoother, more predictable behavior. The 2025 camera-only system frequently: – drifts within the lane – loses lane tracking unexpectedly – requires frequent driver intervention – feels less stable at highway speeds In my opinion, the newer vehicle’s system represents a downgrade in functional safety compared with prior-generation Honda systems. This change was not disclosed during the sales process, and many owners may assume newer models offer equal or better driver-assist performance. My concern is that removal of radar and reliance on camera-only sensing has resulted in degraded lane keeping performance that could increase crash risk due to unexpected disengagement or poor lane centering. I request this information be reviewed as part of consumer safety monitoring of driver assistance systems. | Dec 2025 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER,VISIBILITY/WIPER | Summary of the Issue: My 2025 Honda Civic Sport Touring has experienced repeated windshield cracking without any impact, debris strike, or external cause. This raises serious concerns about windshield integrity, structural safety, and potential manufacturing defects. ________________________________________ Incident Details First Windshield Crack – March 2025 •Around March 2025, the original windshield developed a crack with no impact to the glass or vehicle. •The crack originated at the lower left-hand edge of the windshield. •Honda replaced the windshield at a cost of $1,623.96, which I had to pay. •The crack appeared spontaneously and spread quickly. Second Windshield Crack – December 24, 2025 •On December 24, 2025, the replacement windshield also cracked without any impact. •This time, the crack began at the top right side of the windshield. •I discovered the crack when approaching the parked vehicle; there was no event that could have caused damage. ________________________________________ Safety and Financial Concerns •The vehicle is still under the manufacturer’s warranty and has only 16,653 miles. •The cost of windshield replacement is extremely high due to required ADAS camera recalibration, which is mandatory for safety systems to function properly. •Repeated spontaneous cracking raises concerns about: oStructural integrity of the windshield oPotential manufacturing or design defects oCompromised performance of ADAS safety features oRisk of sudden visibility obstruction while driving | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Dec 2025 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER,VISIBILITY/WIPER | A brand-new 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid sold by Lehigh Valley Honda had inoperative front and rear windshield defoggers immediately upon delivery. The defect caused persistent windshield fogging, severely impairing visibility in rain and cold conditions. The selling dealership refused to perform warranty repairs and stated the issue was in all Hondas. The vehicle was unsafe to operate due to impaired visibility, creating a potential crash hazard. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Dec 2025 | VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL | While driving on the highway, I attempted to accelerate to safely merge into an adjacent lane when the accelerator pedal became stuck in the fully depressed position. The vehicle continued accelerating and the pedal would not release. I applied the brakes and exited the highway at the nearest exit, brought the vehicle to a complete stop, placed it in park, and turned the engine off. After restarting the vehicle, the accelerator pedal remained stuck. I had to manually pry the pedal up from the floor. There were no loose objects or aftermarket floor mats present—only properly installed Honda factory floor mats. This appeared to be a mechanical failure and presented a serious safety risk. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
