I pulled over and then everything slowly came back on. The car continued to run just fine. It was just both displays went totally black and then the red collision warning lights were flashing. This blackout lasted for several seconds before both systems rebooted and returned to normal. This has happened multiple times and does not seem related to any specific driving condition, speed, or weather. The vehicle itself continues to operate normally during the blackout, but the sudden loss of all visual information — including speed, alerts, and navigation — poses a serious safety risk. No warning lights or error messages appeared before or during the incident. This issue started shortly after receiving an over-the-air software update labeled GM N25-F172AE. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and recently sent an email, advising the contact that the part was not yet available to repair the vehicle. Whole driving down the highway, the speakers stopped working, both screens would go blank and the red pre collision lights would turn on. This causes the inability to see your speedometer or other required information while driving. I am unsure if this affects any other safety equipment from functioning if there was a crash during this timeframe. This lasted for several seconds while the system essentially restarted itself. Once everything turned back on, everything worked as it should. I had cruise control set at the time, and it did not affect my speed. I heard a “click” after everything went black and after restarting, it was normal. My red indicator above the steering wheel flashed a couple times and the radio came on first, then the speedometer. It would be available for inspection upon request. This put both mine and others’ safety at risk. I had no way to see my speed, cruise setting, or access any of my tools that uses either this or the radio to function. This has not happened again, I have reported the issue to the dealership the next day with no contact back. | Nov 2024 | STEERING,UNKNOWN OR OTHER,VISIBILITY/WIPER | Two major complaints this Vechile #1 The current std operating control features are a flat out Safety Issue NO-ONE has taken into account the display of to name a few such as Fan-Speed Hi/Low, AC On/Off ,Heated Seat adjustment you cannot View while driving during daytime hours or late afternoon 1-2 hrs before dark But you can view 100% only when the Sun is directly behind you ( THEY DO NOT LITE UP UNTIL ITS NIGHT TIME & ONLY AT NIGHT) You might be laughing well zip it up ( WHY IT FORCES THE DRIVER TO TAKE THEIR EYES OFF THE ROAD) it’s not funny Gone is Std button or knob you can reach and adj .Trying do certain adjustments I find myself wandering off the highway onto Rumble strips searching for control of certain p.b. #2 This car while Traveling on [XXX] threw PA into Ohio with only 500+ miles we come up on quick stop Traffic back up ( TRYING TO QUICKLY TURN ON THE HAZARD WARNING SW —-NOT FOUND )2-days latter still have not found I should not have to be searching the I/Net or reading some now small portion of a new idea shortened version of a operators manual Basic functions we all should be able to Operate any Brand Vehicle Not this Car this [XXX] design Control Panel is a Ralph Nader example of how to Distract every driver behind the wheel. Also a lot of overall reviews many give this car great reviews But No One Takes Ease of Std Operator Functions into Account of any Safety Factor and I don’t trust you or any Government Agency will be telling GM this design of Std Control access eventually will cause many accidents .
