Date Component Summary Severity Mileage
Oct 2025 POWER TRAIN,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,ENGINE Driving on highway at 70 mph and I lose all power. Message says to shift to park. Jeep will not accelerate when gas pedal is pressed. Had to come to a complete stop, shift to park and luckily it drove for a few more miles to get me off the highway before getting killed. Multiple dash lights came on including check engine.

Oct 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE While driving the car shut down. We had to come to a stop to put it in park to restart. Thankfully we were in a a parking lot after one incidence and once on a side road. We would be in a very dangerous situation if we had been on the highway. Our dealer service center said it might be a software update issue but they are not sure. These incidents did occur immediately after a software update. The check engine light did come on a stayed on after the shut down.

Oct 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM A software update was installed yesterday, and I almost died on a busy interstate when my vehicle shut down and would not restart. The jeep software update is causing THOUSANDS of vehicles to shut down. I literally had to wait hours for police to show up to clear the road so we could safely tow the vehicle. I come to home look on the Jeep forums and LOTS of people had the same issues.

Oct 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER,ENGINE Took uConnect update last night. Upon driving after update, jeep looses power and shuts down. Everything on dash lights up. Wants you to put vehicle in park. Throws a check engine light. Upon restart check engine light stays on, go a few miles and Jeep repeats the process.

Oct 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM After an over-the-air update of the Uconnect system on 10/10/25 the vehicle repeatedly lost propulsion. In each instance I abruptly had absolutely no acceleration, the gear indicator on the dash started flashing, the power mode indicator (electric/hybrid/esave) disappeared, an alert said shift into park and press the brake + start button, and the check engine light and red wrench lights came on. I was still able to steer and brake with power steering and brakes for maybe 30 seconds before those went out too. After putting it into park and pressing the brake and start button it started back up and I could drive it normally for a little bit, but it happened two more times on a 1.5 mi drive. This is a serious safety issue. I read the check engine code which was P1E1D

Oct 2025 FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM After a over the air update, the vehicle will unpredictability lose power. The dash will display a warning stating that the vehicle must be shifted into park to be restarted. Jeep has acknowledged this issue in forums with no resolution identified. I have only experienced it while trying to accelerate in front of traffic, on of which almost resulted in an accident due to failure to accelerate.

Oct 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM Moments after installing a software update as instructed in my dashboard, my vehicle came to an immediate halt while driving on a busy freeway. The dashboard displayed instructions to shift the vehicle in park and restart the vehicle. I managed to move the vehicle onto the shoulder and completed these steps to regain control of the vehicle. I completed the rest of my commute on local roads, and this incident occurred two more times before I arrived home. This is not an isolated incident. Many users have reported similar incidents and accidents associated with the recent software update. I contacted Jeep to document this concern. However, they took no responsibility and offered no guidance to rectify the issue. This vehicle is only one year old and is now unsafe to drive.

Oct 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE The engine shut off itself while driving on the freeway with highway speed, with warning message shift to P to start, after recent OTA update from jeep on Friday night. Forcing me to stall on the freeway and almost cause crash. Look like this is wild spread issue affecting all 2024 jeep 4xe after update and I dropped my car to dealership twice today but they not able to fix it. Oct 2025 POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE After downloading the latest UConnect update, I turned on my Jeep and started my drive. About 500 feet later all the dash lights came on, told me to shift into drive to drive (I was) and I lost all power and steering control. I turned the Jeep off and back on and I could drive. This time I made it 1/4 mile and it shut off again, same situation in the middle of an intersection making a left turn. I was nearly hit by other vehicles and had to rely on the downhill slope to roll into the closest parking lot. The software update is bricking all 4xe jeeps that download the software update. UConnect help said they didn’t have a solution and to call Jeep Customer Support. I called them and a man answered the phone and said “we can’t help, call back on Monday” and hung up. I called my dealership and they didn’t know what was wrong with it either. I now do not have a vehicle until Tuesday at the soonest due to the holiday and the weekend.

Oct 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE Updated the Uconnect Software, went grocery shopping, on way home from store car completely shut down on the highway, said to put it in park to restart. Software updates shouldn’t cause complete power failure.

Oct 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE After installing the latest OTA update (U37.23-PROD), my Wrangler 4xe displayed “Service Hybrid System” and lost power while driving on the highway. The vehicle entered reduced-power mode, forcing me to continue using only the gas engine with limited acceleration. This is a safety issue. The problem started immediately after the OTA update. Diagnostic codes: U0594, P0A45, P1E1D. Please escalate this to Stellantis Technical Operations and confirm if a software reprogram (TSB 08-029-23) is available for my VIN. This situation created a serious safety concern while traveling 300 miles from home on a weekend with no Jeep dealers open.

Oct 2025 UNKNOWN OR OTHER Diving when alert came on that said service charging system and vehicle was going to be disabled. With in seconds vehicle powered off. I was barely able to pull off and part of my vehicle was still stuck sticking out on a busy road. Vehicles check engine light came, battery light and a message about the charging system. Has to have the vehicle towed to the dealer. I was told this was the 4th jeep towed there today after yesterday’s update.

Oct 2025 STEERING,ENGINE,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE Jeep released an update for uconnect box. After it was automatically installed my Jeep wrangler lost engine power and steering while in the middle of a round about. Barely had enough momentum to make out of the closest round about exit and no power to pull off the road. Dashboard flashed shift into park. Shifted into park and restarted the engine. Turned off the main road and it died again. This did it 3 more times trying to drive home. This is extremely dangerous since you lose steering and engine power. This could kill someone on a turn, highway, or intersection.

Oct 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE I parked to go into the grocery store and a message popped ip about an update. I clicked update now and the screen went black and the vehicle shut off. I left the store and in the middle of the road the whole jeep lunged forward and shut off. It said to go into park and turn on the vehicle. I drive slow home and my husband tried to take a look and drove it around our complex and it did the same to him and would not allow him to go over 15 miles an hour and that was pedal to the floor. It is now parked in our complex away from other cars as I’m in fear it might ignite as that is a popular issue with the 4xe. I have had the radio replaced due to a malfunction and it was warranty. I fear there is an electrical malfunction.

Oct 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE The car got a uconnect update tonight. 30 minutes later, when driving the car for the first time since the update, the car shut off while in drive going 30mph. The car loses power, tells you to shift to park. Turning the car off and on enabled it to drive for a while longer, but the same thing happened again. The check engine light is on, and it's giving a number of code errors around the hybrid controller.

Sep 2025 AIR BAGS,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM On August 4, 2025, while being operated in an ordinary and careful manner, the newly-purchased vehicle experienced an episode of sudden unintended acceleration, lurching forward uncontrollably and slamming into a tree. Then, as the driver attempted to back up, the vehicle charged forward and struck the tree again. The vehicle's driver airbag never deployed despite sustaining two head-on collisions which ultimately rendered the vehicle a total loss. The vehicle's manufacturer hired an "independent" inspector to inspect the vehicle. They found "no manufacturing defects" and blamed "human error" for the incident.
