| Apr 2025 | STEERING,WHEELS,ENGINE | Since I leased the car, I have taken it to the dealers 4 different times for the steering wheel shaking out of control the first time the "fixed" it but turned me away the 2nd and 3rd time. Each time I requested the left mid speaker to be checked and replaced but they refused to do anything about it until my last oil change 2 months ago. Last year around November they fixed and oil leak, but the cat never leaked oil form the bottom. The Jeep was burning oil not leaking oil and they never did a consumption test. I took it in because the oil levels were low. However, the speaker is still broken, and I did not return the Jeep because they would not give me a loaner car for the service even though it's under warranty. In addition, right front and back tires blew out and when I had the Jeep towed to the dealership for repairs, I noticed that the back tank next to the muffler was leaking. While the Jeep was at the dealership waiting to be serviced, it was vandalized with the rear left window busted out and pain job damaged. My personal registration and insurance information among other things was taken as well. It's been 3 and a half weeks, and they are jerking me around about the repairs. Yesterday, I talked to the service manager (Jose & Rob) they were very condescending about having the repairs done. Upon talking to them I was told that the found and fixed another 'oil leak" but never did a consumption test. I didn't notice the oil being low when I turned in the Jeep on 4/14/25, so they assumed that the leak that I mention was coming from the engine and not the rear and found another leak but had not checked the rear for the leak that I requested them to check. In addition, they claimed that they fixed the oil "leak" without doing a consumption test. I turned the Jeep in on 4/14/25 and the vandalism happened on 4/24/25. FYI this site won't allow me to download the videos of the Jeep doing the "death wabble (shake)". Please email me so I can forward that to you. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2025 | STEERING,POWER TRAIN,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL | Firsts, "service shifter" came up on the dash, with no other lights. Followed by the check engine light. After that, there was a red tortoise that appeared on the dash that said "vehicle speed may be limited". After which the throttle response was limited and I couldn't accelerate over 10 mph. Within 30 seconds of that the steering wheel locked up, not allowing me to turn and the throttle response died. The vehicle stopped. I turned the vehicle off and back on and began to drive again, almost immediately the same error messages came up, followed by a locked steering wheel (unable to turn) and no acceleration. At this point, the dash board began to illuminate all lights, "Auto Emergency Braking Unavailable", "service shifter" "Service transmission" etc. With the fuel cluster jumping and dropping. Following this, the windshield wipers began to go without control and then the vehicle died and was unable to be started. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2025 | SUSPENSION | I am submitting this formal complaint to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) regarding a premature front CV axle boot failure on a Jeep Wrangler with only 16,000 miles. This failure occurred under normal operating conditions and is indicative of a systemic durability defect that could pose serious long-term safety concerns if left unaddressed. The vehicle was brought to an authorized Jeep dealership in New Jersey after grease was observed leaking from the front axle. Inspection revealed a torn CV axle boot. Importantly, photographic and video documentation confirm the vehicle was never subjected to off-road use, impact, or any owner-induced damage. Despite this, the dealership refused warranty coverage, claiming no cause could be determined—yet arbitrarily attributing it to external influence without any supporting evidence. This type of failure in a critical drivetrain component at such low mileage raises substantial questions regarding material integrity, seal design, and long-term reliability—issues which fall under NHTSA’s authority pursuant to 49 U.S. Code § 30118 – Notification of Defects and Noncompliance and 49 CFR § 573 – Defect and Noncompliance Responsibility and Reports. Additionally, Jeep Wranglers have a well-documented history of drivetrain-related problems, including steering instability, axle vulnerability, and component fatigue—many of which have already resulted in Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) and consumer complaints to your agency. This suggests an ongoing pattern of premature wear and reliability concerns that may meet the threshold for a safety-related defect investigation. While the failure in this instance did not yet result in an accident or injury, the CV joint and axle boot are vital components of the steering and stability system. A compromised CV joint due to undetected boot failure can lead to sudden loss of control, especially at highway speeds. The failure mode—occurring silently over time—is precisely the | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |

| Jan 2025 | EXTERIOR LIGHTING,UNKNOWN OR OTHER | We leased our jeep [XXX and started having Software (SW) issues in December 2023. We were informed in June 2024, after having multiple SW issues, from dealer senior mechanic that 90% of the first wave 2024 Jeep Wranglers had SW issues. Our jeep was a first wave unit, we were not informed of a possible SW during test drive. There's been two SW updates that I know of, one in late Jun 2024 and another in mid Sept 2024. Neither fixed all the SW issues and in fact added more additional issues. Dates listed or beginning dates. Issues include Control-D: going totally blank starting in Jan 2024 on startup or while driving or starting, in Oct 2024 having a half inch strip across the top and down left side, Dash navigation direction provides two dashes starting Jul 2024 on startup and for about 30sec, GPS freezing up in Aug 2024, all functions on screen froze up Nov 2024, to name a few. FCA US LLC has no idea when the next SW update will be released or what fix's will be included. Hardware (HW): Mar 2024 headlights with switch in Auto will come on in broad sunlight. While driving on [XXX], engine warning light came on and remained on for a total of 36hours during start up and driving time. Presently at Starr Motors Suffolk, VA since Dec 16, 2024. They have been directed to trouble shoot and fix HW. We've were informed Jan 14, 2025, that the Oil Control Valve is bad, and more testing will be performed once parts are replaced. With the SW and HW issues this jeep has had, we believe it is not operationally safe to drive. | Jan 2025 | POWER TRAIN | The contact owns a 2024 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that the manual transmission failed to operate as designed, and the vehicle intermittently hesitated while shifting gear. The contact stated there was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer who was unable to duplicate the failure or determine the cause of the failure. The dealer contacted the manufacturer about replacing the transmission under warranty; however, the manufacturer denied the request. The vehicle remained with the dealer unrepaired. The failure mileage was approximately 5,000. | Crash: No Fire: No | 5,000 |
| Dec 2024 | POWER TRAIN | On 12/06/2024 while driving on highway around 65 mph, hear loud bang and vehicle shut off (no warnings). Thanks to quick action of drive alongside, was able to get to side of highway without accident. Would restart but would not go into gear. Upon towing to dealer, discovered catastrophic failure of rear shaft and rear differential. Drive shaft broke off the differential. Dealer waiting on back ordered parts before they can determine if problem was by driveshaft, differential, or some other part of the drivetrain. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Dec 2024 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | The instrument cluster screen panel went black without any warning. No information, just a solid black screen. I could not determine vehicle speed, fuel level, or see warnings/alerts for tire pressure, oil or transmission function. Vehicle is still in possession of dealership and not repaired. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Dec 2024 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | Purchasd in January 2024 similar incident reported twice, early 2024 and now this date 12/2/24. Incident includes vehicle warning to “stop Vehicle. Engine will shut down’ followed by errant warning gauges going off, cameras, speedometer other indicators not working. Twice brought to dealer. First time they could not verify condition. Now I at dealer again for incident service. Pending. Seems to be a recurring problem dating years back with no resolution from Jeep. A very unsettling issue as to safety and drivability of vehicle. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |

| Sep 2024 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | I believe a serious malfunction occurred with a 2024 Jeep Wrangler on [XXX], the day after I purchased the vehicle. The incident took place while I was driving westbound on [XXX] , at a speed of 65 mph. At the time of the incident, I had both front Targa Top Panels removed, both front windows down, and both rear windows up. Suddenly, I was struck in the face by what felt like a rock. This unexpected impact caused me to swerve dangerously close to the median. Almost immediately, I noticed I was bleeding and experienced excruciating pain. Upon exiting the highway at my home exit, I checked on my nonverbal child to ensure their safety. To my dismay, I discovered an adjustable turning loop cover on the rear back floor of the vehicle. After further investigation I noticed my rearview mirror had a crack also. I'm confident this piece flew from my passenger side of my vehicle, hit off my window shield or rearview mirror, and into my face. Concerned about the safety implications of this malfunction, I returned to the dealership, Tyson’s Motor Shorewood in IL, where I purchased the Jeep. Although they offered to reattach the piece, I declined, as I believed this could pose a further risk of injury. I no longer own this Jeep after sustaining this injury I felt compelled to sell it for the safety of myself, and my children. I have reported this incident to Jeep, and my case number is #[XXX]. The malfunction resulted in a laceration and bruising to my face, and I strongly believe that this issue warrants investigation. The potential for more serious injuries, especially to other occupants or drivers, is a significant concern. | Sep 2024 | STRUCTURE,UNKNOWN OR OTHER | I had several safety concerns regarding the 2024 Jeep Wrangler that I purchased and subsequently traded in after only 31 days due to multiple issues that I believe may compromise vehicle safety. Upon purchasing the vehicle, I noticed that the front inner splash guards were loose. After the dealership, Tyson’s Motors in Shorewood, IL, replaced both splash guards, I discovered that the front left splash guard had plugs that fell out, exposing critical hoses underneath. This issue raised immediate concerns about the potential for damage to these hoses and the vehicle's overall safety. In addition to the splash guard issue, I experienced further safety concerns, including screws from the inside speakers located between the front and rear seats falling off while driving, as well as a loose headlight pin. These problems not only posed a risk to my safety but also created an environment of uncertainty regarding the overall reliability of the vehicle. Due to these ongoing issues, I felt it necessary to trade in the Wrangler for an identical model, as I believed the original vehicle was possibly faulty. Unfortunately, the replacement vehicle caused me injury just two days later, which I have also reported to the NHTSA, dealership and Jeep. I believe these issues warrant serious attention and investigation to prevent potential safety hazards for other drivers, passengers, and those driving on the road. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |

| Aug 2024 | STEERING | I have not had any incident with this vehicle as of yet, but I bought it brand new a few months ago from Westgate motors in Raleigh, North Carolina. It’s a brand new jeep. It only had 12 miles when we got it from the start it has bad steering and it steers all over the road while you’re driving it you can be driving it all of a sudden it’ll just start to switch lanes or something or getting into another lane and then it feels as if the back end starts to sway like it was hit with a very bad wind. The cruise control varies up and down at times without even touching it. Coming down a hill once it moved over into her on coming lane. I had it back at the dealer several times and was told this is normal for jeeps due to their new design since 2018. I called jeep corp and they told me to call the dealer nothing they could or would do to help me. Dealer told me nothing they could do either and if I brought it back I would the trade in amount I had with my previous car. I’m writing here and letting my family know they if anything happens to me when driving this jeep to please have an investigation done. I have told the dealer I do not feel this is safe to be on the roads. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Aug 2024 | STEERING,SUSPENSION | Issue: Front End violent DEATH WOBBLE at interstate [XXX] speed of 75mph on [XXX] outside Benson AZ (unexpected and harsh). Hit rough patch in road and steering wheel and front end violently shook side to side for about 5 minutes until I slowed to below 50mph. Almost crashed into other cars but I regained control at a slower speed and had no accident. Vehicle purchased on [XXX] new. Slow 45mph initial test drive had no wobble. Dealer attempted to repair on 2 occasions in June 2024 but could not guarantee it fixed. They bled and primed its newer dampener which was empty/never primed. Supposedly it was the newer upgraded steering dampener that was to have fixed this issue but did not fix it. Had 3 more minor wobbles after Dealer fixes on the next 3 weekends driving on [XXX] at 70MPH but these were less intense and manageable (did not scare me so much as I was expecting them), Now I locally drive it with no major issues. Will have Dealer review at the next 5000 mile service. This Death Wobble should NOT be in a $58000 Jeep Sahara. Very scary. Dealer confirmed issue, but applied no permanent fix. Said to drive under 75MPH and be aware of the front beam axle feelings. No messages or warnings before, during or afterwards. The wobbles catch you by surprise. After these experiences I can drive it okay. I have owned over 10 Jeeps and none had this wobble issue. If informed about this Sahara's wobble, I would not have bought it. Dealer made no effort to replace vehicle or refund my money. So I am stuck. The Jeep forums mention this being an issue for 2024 saharas and some 4Xe jeeps. | Jul 2024 | POWER TRAIN,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL | While driving the vehicle, I received a warning that the clutch was overheated. A few days later, it had no acceleration while merging onto the freeway. Fourth fifth and sixth gears had zero acceleration and I was almost runoff the road. The vehicle would not go over 70 miles an hour And the cruise control failed. It told me service required. I took the vehicle into the dealer and they told me there were no codes so there was nothing they could do unless I made an appointment. Which I did their convenience was two days later. As I was leaving, they informed me that it would cost $180 to diagnose the problem, even if there was no problem. Since the initial problem, the vehicle has hesitated in all gears and has lost its “Peppiness” The vehicle is a brand new 2024 model. After googling I found that there was a recall up to 2023 models stick shift clutch overheating. I suspect they did not fix the issue and my 2024 may catch fire as well, also the lack of power is disheartening while driving And may also pose a risk. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jun 2024 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,SEAT BELTS,ENGINE | The first time this happened I was in Maryland, while reversing out of a parking spot onto [XXX] , the Jeep just shut off, just before that every light on the panel went off and the ABS, Powertrain just to name a few failed. I was stuck 3/4 out of the spot when the shutdown occurred, the steering wheel locked, gear shift wouldn’t move and when I tried to press the brake it wouldn’t go down. I had to hit the ignition to reset it while out in oncoming traffic, after 2 attempts, I was able to get it started and shift into park, then drive and then pull in. During this time the check engine light was on. When I returned to NH I took it to the dealership ( Bonneville & son) they had it for nearly 2 weeks, determined it was the alternator output. They ordered a new one but due to a sku error in jeeps system, it was the wrong part, so they had it an additional 4 days. Today [XXX], I was pulling Symmes Dr to park at the park and ride in Londonderry. While going around a curve, the jeep did the same thing and just shut off at 32mph. Steering wheel locked up, everything went dark on all screens, I could not brake or accelerate. There was no space on the side of the road, there was a line of 3 cars on the opposite lane and there was a tractor trailer in my rearview mirror shuttering. He was able to stop at an angle but was stopped less than 4 feet from my rear bumper. When I saw it in the mirror, I thought that was it. I was almost killed today due to jeeps complacency.
