| Jun 2026 | STEERING,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | My safety, as well as the safety of my children and family, is under constant, severe threat. We are being forced to make financial payments on a vehicle that the manufacturer admits is a dual fire hazard and unsafe to park inside near our home, with no engineering fix currently developed to resolve the engine defect. Furthermore, the manufacturer has failed to provide a comparable, safe, or adequate utility rental vehicle to mitigate our loss of use while we wait indefinitely for these remedies. There were no warning lights or prior symptoms before the recall. This vehicle is actively subject to three major, concurrent manufacturer safety recalls carrying critical safety risks: NHTSA Campaign 25V-741 (Stellantis 68C) for high-voltage hybrid battery fire risk; NHTSA Campaign 25V-766 (Stellantis 78C) for engine casting sand contamination causing catastrophic engine failure; and the recently issued June 04, 2026 recall, NHTSA Campaign 26V-363 (FCA 21D), for an Electro-Hydraulic Power Steering Pump (EHPSP) electrical short circuit and fire risk. The combined safety risk of these defects is severe, including spontaneous vehicle fire while driving or parked, and sudden, catastrophic engine seizure leading to an unrecoverable loss of propulsion at highway speeds. The vehicle is currently available for inspection upon request and has been evaluated by an authorized manufacturer dealership. The dealer confirmed that the safety recalls apply to this specific vehicle. Out of an abundance of caution, the manufacturer has issued strict, overlapping instructions for both the battery and the EHPSP defects, advising owners to park the vehicle outside and away from structures or other vehicles until a remedy is obtained. Furthermore, for the engine sand contamination defect, the manufacturer has explicitly stated that a definitive repair remedy is not yet available, leaving the vehicle with a permanent risk of sudden mechanical failure or an engine-compartment thermal event. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jun 2026 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | My Jeep Wrangler 4xe experiences an intermittent loss of propulsion and acceleration while operating in Electric Mode. Prior to the issue, the vehicle often exhibits surging and inconsistent power delivery. When the issue occurs, the vehicle may hesitate, provide significantly reduced acceleration, or fail to respond appropriately to accelerator pedal input. In some cases, a message appears stating that Electric Mode is unavailable and the gasoline engine starts. In other cases, the vehicle does not transition to Hybrid Mode and provides little or no propulsion from either the electric motor or gasoline engine. Despite pressing the accelerator pedal, including significant throttle input, the vehicle will continue rolling slowly and fail to accelerate as expected. This has occurred multiple times, including while entering roadways, crossing traffic, making left turns across oncoming traffic, and merging with traffic. On several occasions, I was unable to clear traffic as expected and was forced to take evasive action to avoid a potential collision. The condition creates a serious safety concern because the vehicle does not consistently respond when acceleration is needed to safely enter or cross traffic. The issue is intermittent and can occur multiple times during a single drive. It occurs regardless of battery charge level, battery temperature, or operating mode conditions. No warning lights or check engine lights remain illuminated after the event. I have noticed the issue may occur more frequently during rain or adverse weather conditions. My vehicle has been subject to multiple recalls, including recall 68C, but this concern has not been resolved. I am reporting this issue because I believe the intermittent loss of expected propulsion presents a safety risk to vehicle occupants and other motorists. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jun 2026 | VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL | Received third notification of recall for the vehicle that I purchased from Don Jackson Jeep Cummings, GA on March 2024 by NHTSA. The first two recall warnings were 68C and 78C that Jeep stated was remedy via software. Software cannot guarantee that no electrical battery nor engine/transmission issue b/c the check engine light came on and vehicle kept at JEEP Morrow dealership for approximately 6 weeks. Notified approximately June 20, 2026, of third recall 26V363. I have requested and had several cases open with Jeep Customer Care requesting a buyback or trade in assistance due to negative equity in the vehicle due to uncertain of fire safety issue and concern that could potentially affect the general public, neighbors, daughter, self, and dwellings (e.g. home and community). The vehicle makes loud sounds, smell like smoke due to electrical fire, decrease in speed during acceleration, etc. Constant fear of family, neighbors, public safety, and self. "Begging" Jeep Customer Care to help me transition into another safe vehicle. Constantaly met with opposition and excuses like being told by two different managers (Darrel and Michael) that they have the final decision and no one that I can escalate my legitimate complaint. Requested in writing several times from Jeep customer care to put in writing why I am not eligible for a buyback, trade in assistance, help with negative equity, etc. No response. Cases closed. Due to the multiple recalls on Jeep 200-2024 wranglers for fire safety issues and no guarantee that a fire nor transmission or motor issues will occur, requesting NHTSA mandate that Stellantis remove these vehicle off the road and recall all these vehicles and make each customer who purchased these dangers vehicles whole instead of investing 71 billion dollars to revamp a company. Start with removing the vehicle that they knew had these issues into the market for the general public to purchase before someone gets serious injured and/or killed. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jun 2026 | FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | While driving in EV mode my Wrangler 4XE starts to limit power when the battery falls below 50%. The dash display which shows power output clearly starts to limit around 75%, then 50% once the battery hits 40-45% and then even lower as the battery depletes. This makes the car barely powerful enough to hold 50mph and it cannot even climb a hill and hold speed. Then the engine abruptly kicks on in the high 30% battery SOC and EV mode is locked out until you charge it or park, turn it off and let it cool off. This is after the latest battery recall that Jeep performed. They seem to be limiting the battery output at lower SOC to protect the battery but this means I am no longer able to operate the car I purchased in the way it was designed to originally, the way it was marketed, or even safely on a main road with moderate speeds without the engine kicking on. It is also limiting overall power which means I'm not getting the advertised HP and Torque ratings. Jeep needs to do a real fix for the battery issue and not just a software band-aid. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jun 2026 | POWER TRAIN | CLUTCH HOT FULLY RELEASE CLUTCH PEDAL AND REDUCE CLUTCH USE - January 2025, June 2026, additional occurrences but do not have documentation for it. I’ve had it in with no issues to a Jeep dealership. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jun 2026 | POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE | This complaint is based on four separate safety recalls affecting my vehicle — Recalls 56C, 68C (NHTSA Campaign No. 25V-741), 21D (NHTSA Campaign No. 26V-363) and 78C (NHTSA Campaign No. 25V-766) — which collectively demonstrate a pattern of serious, unresolved manufacturing defects involving both the high-voltage battery system and the gasoline engine. Stellantis has materially and permanently diminished my vehicle's performance and value through undisclosed recall remedies, left my vehicle subject to dual fire risks with no complete remedy available as none of the recalls actually made any functional repairs but rather reduced the risk to Stellantis, and subjected my engine to a potential catastrophic sand contamination defect for which the recall did not actually repair along with additional wear and tear on the combustion engine beyond the original design specifications of the vehicle. Perhaps no single fact better illustrates the magnitude of what Stellantis has taken from me than this: post-68C, my 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe — purchased at a significant price premium over standard Wrangler models specifically for its hybrid efficiency — now achieves no better real-world fuel economy in charged or depleted mode than the base 3.6L V6 Wrangler that costs thousands of dollars less. The EPA-rated combined gas-only MPG figures for the 2024 Wrangler lineup are as follows: •3.6L V6 (automatic, four-door): EPA-rated 19 MPG combined (17 city / 23 highway); •3.6L V6 with eTorque (automatic, four-door): EPA-rated 19–20 MPG combined; •2.0L Turbo (four-door): EPA-rated 20–21 MPG combined; •4xe PHEV (charge-depleted, gas only): EPA-rated 20 MPG combined — now further reduced by the 68C software restriction. All of which came at an $8-12K premium due to the PHEV vs. a standard V6 engine. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jun 2026 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | Unresolved recalls with no remedy available 6+ months. One is sudden loss of power and a new one just listed as risk of fire. Contacted Jeep costumer service and Stellantis. Neither party offered solutions. Just continue waiting for remedy. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jun 2026 | POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | While driving my 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe on the Garden State Parkway and approaching traffic on the Driscoll Bridge, a turtle warning icon suddenly appeared on the dashboard, indicating limited vehicle performance. Moments later, the dashboard displayed a message instructing me to "Shift to Park." Immediately after this warning, the vehicle suffered a complete hybrid/electrical system failure and lost all motive power. The vehicle became completely unresponsive, and I was unable to accelerate, move the vehicle, or restart it. The vehicle came to a stop in an active travel lane of the Garden State Parkway on the Driscoll Bridge, leaving me stranded in live highway traffic. This created an immediate and serious safety hazard, as vehicles were approaching from behind and I was exposed to the risk of a high-speed rear-end collision. The vehicle could not be moved under its own power and had to be removed from the travel lane and towed to a nearby parking lot. Roadside assistance later performed a battery reset, which temporarily restored vehicle operation and allowed me to drive the vehicle home. No permanent repair was performed, and the cause of the failure remains unresolved. The vehicle currently has multiple open safety recalls, including Recall 68C involving the high-voltage battery system. Stellantis has also recently announced an additional recall involving electric hydraulic power steering pump wiring and fire risk. The primary defect is the sudden loss of propulsion and complete electrical/hybrid system shutdown while driving, resulting in the vehicle becoming disabled in active highway traffic without warning. This defect created an immediate risk of a serious crash and could have resulted in severe injury or death. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jun 2026 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | Engine turns off while driving down road, have to pull over, restart vehicle to unlock gear shifter. Taken to Deery Iowa City three times to fix the dangerous problem and Deery Iowa City are only resetting the computer and turning off while driving down road continues happening. I have not been provided a safe loaner vehicle for over 12 days in shop. I cannot risk me and my daughter's safety resulting from this dangerous problem refusing to be fixed. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jun 2026 | VISIBILITY/WIPER | 2024 Wrangler RHD. After being parked overnight pushing the start button clicks once as if the battery is weak. A second push of the start button the Jeep starts normally. Also, the clock resets itself 4 hours ahead. The HVAC temperature resets itself to 72 degrees regardless of where it was when parked. When shifting into reverse the backup camera displays a blue screen. Dealership is going to ensure software is current and check the battery. This is an ongoing issue. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jun 2026 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE | I own a 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4XE High Altitude (VIN: [XXX]) with three open safety recalls, two of which involve fire hazards: NHTSA ID 25V741000 – High Voltage Battery May Fail and Cause Fire (parts available) NHTSA ID 25V766000 – Engine Failure May Cause Fire or Loss of Drive Power (parts not available) 2.0L PHEV Engine recall (parts not available) I have been trying to schedule a recall repair appointment for several days. The dealership failed to confirm parts availability, gave no clear answers, and ultimately hung up on me during our conversation. Despite the NHTSA website confirming that parts for recall 25V741000 are available, the dealership was unable to schedule an appointment and provided no solution. I am being forced to drive a vehicle with an active fire hazard while the dealership refuses to take responsibility or provide timely service. This is a serious safety concern and I am requesting immediate action. The dealership has shown complete disregard for customer safety and has failed to fulfill its obligation to complete open safety recalls in a timely manner. | May 2026 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE | NHTSA Complaint Description What Happened & Safety Risk: While driving a 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe at highway speeds on Interstate 84, the vehicle suffered a catastrophic, unrecoverable loss of motive power. Without any warning, the vehicle completely seized up, shut down, and turned off entirely while moving in active traffic. This exact life-threatening failure has now occurred twice. Operating a vehicle that completely dies at highway speeds places the driver, passengers, and all surrounding traffic at an extreme risk of a high-speed rear-end collision, as the vehicle loses all ability to accelerate or safely clear the roadway. Component/System Malfunction: The failure lies within the hybrid propulsion system and electrical/software communication network (specifically relating to active Federal Recalls 25V710 for Hybrid Control Processor software shutdown and 25V766 for engine sand contamination). The vehicle is absolutely available for inspection upon request. Dealer Confirmation & Inspection: The problem is currently being evaluated. The vehicle is currently held at an authorized Stellantis dealership service department, where it was brought immediately following the most recent highway shutdown. Warning Symptoms: There were no advance warning lamps, diagnostic messages, or performance symptoms prior to the failure. The loss of propulsion and complete vehicle shutdown occurred instantaneously and without warning while traveling at highway speeds. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2026 | ENGINE | My Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe has an active safety recall involving possible catastrophic engine failure, fire risk, and sudden loss of propulsion. The manufacturer recall states that sand contamination inside the engine may lead to engine failure and vehicle fire. The recall remains incomplete and the manufacturer states the repair remedy is still under development. I was informed that repair parts or a permanent repair are not currently available. This creates a serious safety concern because the vehicle may suddenly lose propulsion or experience a fire risk while driving or parked. I am concerned for my safety and the safety of my family. The vehicle is leased and I am still required to continue making payments despite the unresolved safety defect and lack of repair availabilit | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2026 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | I started my Jeep in my driveway and a warning quickly flashed onto the center screen just before the Check Engine Light illuminated. I attempted to test drive it. The vehicle started cutting out before the engine started racing. I was able to stop at the end of my street. I made a U-Turn to return to my home and the Jeep started bucking and jerking wildly as I was attempting to stop in front of my house. It was at that time it stopped running and locked itself in PARK. I called a tow to the dealer. The tow driver was also unable to move the vehicle as it was still locked in PARK. He was able to drag it onto the flatbed. Upon inspection at the dealer, they stated that the hybrid battery had failed and needs to be replaced. This was a dangerous enough situation but had this of happened in traffic or worse yet on the highway, it would have made for a much more dangerous situation where someone could have been killed. This is not the first time I've had drivability and loss of motive power issues with this vehicle. The last time a few months ago I brought it to the dealer's attention and explained the problem and the danger. The dealer advised me that the software after the 68C Recall will reduce power to protect the hybrid battery. It seems that Jeep is trying to save money rather than do the right thing and buy back these dangerous vehicles. Jeep customer service basically told me that it's my problem. I just want the Jeep fixed or bought back. It is not a safe vehicle to drive without fear of being smashed into from the rear. The Jeep is currently at the dealer waiting for a replacement hybrid battery. It is my understanding that the replacement battery will be the exact same as the defective one and runs the same chance of being defective and dangerous. How is this even allowed to happen? | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |

| May 2026 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | * See list below for specifics - yes vehicle is available at mechanics location * 6 lane intersection - vehicle and myself were in center lane blocking traffic - made 911 call requesting officer since I was blocking traffic * See below for detailed description * No at this particular time, it is at the mechanic's shop for further investigation - shop was closed by the time the tow truck carried the jeep to the drop off location * See below for detailed description Within the last week the jeep turned off on its own while sitting with the engine running in a parking spot, it also automatically slowed down to less than 25 mph unable to give it gas and then a warning came on about the sway bar being disconnected, the check engine light came on for a few days then turned off by it self, the last incident some of the following warning lights came on before the jeep came to a stop on it's own while traveling approx 45 mph on a 6 lane street - serv 4wd, auto emergency braking unavailable, sway bar!, service electronic stability control, sway bar disconnect unavailable, forward collision warning off, adaptive cruise control fault, and as the jeep cut off the warning light for the plug status fault warning came on. The vehicle has been towed to a mechanic and they will let me know the status of the jeep once they have checked it out. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2026 | STEERING,SUSPENSION | What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The vehicle experiences a severe front-end steering and suspension oscillation commonly referred to as “death wobble.” After driving over uneven pavement, bridge joints, potholes, or rough highway surfaces at highway speeds, the steering wheel begins violently shaking side-to-side and the front suspension appears to oscillate uncontrollably. The vehicle becomes difficult to steer and maintain lane control until speed is significantly reduced. The issue first occurred at approximately 10,000 miles and has recently returned. Although the current episodes are somewhat less severe than the initial event, the vehicle still becomes unstable above approximately 65 mph and cannot be safely driven at normal highway speeds. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? This defect creates a serious safety hazard because the steering instability occurs suddenly at highway speeds and makes the vehicle feel temporarily out of control. During the initial in incident, the steering wheel shook violently after hitting an uneven section of highway pavement, and I believed I could lose control of the vehicle or collide with surrounding traffic. The only way to stop the oscillation is to rapidly reduce speed to approximately 50 mph or lower, which itself creates additional danger from surrounding vehicles traveling at highway speed. The recurrence of the issue has made me afraid to drive the vehicle on highways or at normal traffic speeds due to concern over loss of steering control and potential crash risk. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? The vehicle was serviced. The dealer performed the fix of the wheel damperer after the original occurrence. While those actions temporarily reduced the severity of the symptoms, they did not permanent. This is a known issue for Jeep's since 2018, I have had 3 and all 3 have had it | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2026 | FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | I am reporting a serious safety concern with my 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe, VIN [XXX] . The apparent systems involved are the hybrid propulsion system, charging/high-voltage battery system, powertrain control system, and/or regenerative braking/deceleration system. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. After prior battery/charging-related issues and recent Jeep recall service, the vehicle displayed a “Service Charging System” warning and the check-engine light came on. While driving home, the vehicle did not decelerate normally when I removed my foot from the accelerator. It felt like the Jeep continued propelling itself or maintaining speed without accelerator input. I drove approximately one mile down my street at about 40 mph, and the vehicle did not slow down as expected unless I applied the brakes firmly. I had to brake harder than normal to slow the vehicle. This created a serious safety risk because the vehicle appeared to continue moving at speed without normal deceleration, which could have caused a crash or prevented me from stopping in time. After the incident, the vehicle also turn off. It took multiple tries and about 20 minutes to turn off. The “Service Charging System” message and check-engine light remained on. The problem has not yet been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center, but I am arranging for the vehicle to be towed/inspected and do not intend to drive it due to the safety concern. The vehicle was recently inspected/serviced by a Jeep dealer for recall-related work before this incident. I am requesting that the dealer/manufacturer inspect the vehicle and preserve all DTCs, freeze-frame data, module update records, HV battery/charging diagnostics, and any available accelerator/brake/propulsion data. No crash or injury occurred, but the vehicle created a serious safety risk. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6) | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |

| May 2026 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | I have had several instances of the infotainment system freezing up after starting the Jeep and putting it into reverse. When this happens, the radio sound is replaced with a buzzing noise and the rear camera image becomes frozen. None of the radio controls work and putting the vehicle into Park doesn't have any impact. The only resolution is to push and hold the power button until the system resets. This defeats the purpose of having a rear camera while reversing and puts the failure at the worst possible time (while backing up). | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2026 | SUSPENSION,POWER TRAIN,VISIBILITY/WIPER | first incident rear defrost tab would come on and get so hot it was burning the rear glass. major fire risk burning the components, reported to dealer, dealer replaced glass and component, no warnings, owner reported "smelling something burning". fire fighter found burned glass and component which was then unplugged. 2nd- hub centric ring loose and causing noise rubbing inside of wheel. owner states dragging sound from left to right at low speeds and one incident of vehicle not able to turn to the right. dealer replaced new hub ring. no warning alerts, major safety concern in regular operation of vehicle while driving could cause catastrophic failure and/or death. 3rd and 4th reported to dealer Sep 29, 2025 that transmission does not want to shift and when accelerating it feels like it does not want to pull. dealer reported no problem found reported to dealer march 26th 2026 that when accelerating and letting off the gas the vehicle makes a grinding noise and will jerk and jump. Also when pressing gas an letting off it sounds like it tries shutting off. dealer kept vehicle for greater than 30 days. dealer replaced rear end due to bearing failure and metal contamination which led to axle seal and bearing replacement for also being contaminated, dealer had to drill holes to swap over relocation bracket to track bar to accommodate lift. major drive train failure safety defect possibly leading to a catastrophic failure and/or death. no warning alerts 5th vehicle was returned with in the same week for major oil leak on back tires still at dealer ship waiting repairs. no warning alerts | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2026 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE | Yesterday evening we were driving and the orange check engine light came on. Followed by a red battery light, the red turtle and an exclamation point with a car and a speedometer symbol. It would not let me switch to electric e-save and kept me in hybrid mode. Regenerative braking would not work either. Once safely parked it was making a loud high pitched whining noise. It would also drop RPMs while idling and then they would rev up quickly. Once the tow truck arrived he tried to drive it up on the flat bed but it had no power to make it up the ramp and had to be pulled with the tow cable up the ramp. Another thing I have noticed as of the last 68c update is that when in electric mode and merging onto a freeway for example, it gets really sluggish at about 65mph and the gas engine won't kick in like it used to before the update. It doesn't go above 65 and slows down to about 62 even if my foot is pedal to the floor before ice kicks in. Makes it pretty dangerous to be merging with traffic going 70+. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2026 | STEERING,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,ENGINE | Started car and check engine light was on. Started to drive it and the battery and other lights came on. Engine sounded funny and electric motor was not available. As I was trying I needed to pull off because it was not moving smoothly and was jerky. I pulled over into a parking lot and put in park and the lights indicated it was in charging mode. After repeated attempts to turn the vehicle completely off I was able to. When I was able to finally turn it back on it the engine was very loud. While driving the car would accelerate when I did not have my foot on the brake and was getting warm inside the cabin. At random times the battery light and a red turtle would appear saying the speed was being limited. This happened repeatedly. The following day on the way to try to bring it to the dealership to fix it the speed was increasing while on flat ground unless I had foot on break and then the red turtle would come back on. I determined it was unsafe to drive and requested a tow to the dealership. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
