| Oct 2024 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | 2024 Hyundai Palisade Driving at city speeds the sunroof exploded. It was so loud, sounded like a gun was shot inside the vehicle. The local law enforcement was contacted and inspected the damage. Sunroof was taped and a bag was placed over the glass and taped to be able to drive to the local dealership. Hyundai determined the sunroof was defective and replaced it. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2024 | SERVICE BRAKES | The car fails to completely brake when going slowly over uneven pavement. The car, steering wheel and brakes shake before stopping and coming to a complete stop. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2024 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,EXTERIOR LIGHTING,ENGINE | Multiple problems since purchasing brand new 2024 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy Edition last November. Within the first 2 weeks we experienced electrical problems and the entire dashboard add monitor had to be replaced. 2nd- recall on the engine and was replaced, recall issued in February and was never notified, only found out in August when taken in for complimentary service oil change. 3rd- engine light came on 1 week later. 4. Paint was damaged and mirror was cracked while at dealership. 5. Condensation in both headlights. 6. 2nd cracked windshield since purchase. 6. The driver side window does not roll up all the way. I absolutely do not feel safe in this car with my children and elderly parents. First and Last Hyundai. Nothing but constant problems. The dealership was fraudulent in the mileage the brand new car had- 500. Was not given any purchase paperwork and we paid cash for car. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2024 | SEAT BELTS | In the past couple months the drivers side seatbelt retractor has failed twice requiring it to be fully replaced in both circumstances. In these situations the seatbelt becomes fully loose and can’t be safely used. They blame it on over extending the seatbelt which makes no sense as the retractor should not even fail in an accident. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2024 | SERVICE BRAKES | In the last two weeks my car has experienced issues with braking a total of 5 times. The issue seems to happen when there may be an uneven road, pothole, or gravel. On 3 of the 5 occurrences, I was at a 4-way intersection with a car full of children. I was going no more than 10-15 mph at most because its a residential street and had ample time to stop. Upon pressing the brakes, my car slowed down a bit but then the brakes failed and I rolled through the interesection, having to blare my horn to warn others I could not stop. This could have been a deadly event had I needed to stop at a major intersection or to avoid a collision. I will be contacting the dealership today, however I have noticed there are multiple complaints regarding this issue and many lawyers discussing building a class action lawsuit as Hyundai fails to address the issues. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2024 | SEAT BELTS | With less than 2,000-miles on the vehicle, the second-row driver's side seatbelt came unfastened from the lower anchor point of the vehicle. There was no indication that this would be an issue until a passenger sat in the seat and tried to buckle up, only to find the seat belt was hanging loose. Fortunately there was no injury associated to this failure but it is concerning as a critical safety device failed due to what can only be imagined as careless oversight in assembly. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2024 | SERVICE BRAKES | I was driving on a bit uneven surface, a temporary bridge, at low speed ~25mph. I pressed brakes to stop but the car started shaking and didnt stop as the brakes completely froze. I could have rammed into the car in front. I quickly released the brakes and pressed again with full force in fraction of a second and it somehow worked this time. It was a very scary experience with me and my family in car. This bridge was on a river and could have had catastrophic results for me any my family. This is a very serious safety issue. I see a lot of complaints from Palisade owners facing this issue online. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2024 | SERVICE BRAKES | Multiple times approaching a crosswalk and stop sign at my kid’s school going about 15 mph and started to apply the brakes as we went over some slightly uneven ground The car lurched forward repeatedly as the brakes were applied, bouncing forward in spurts rather while I applied the brakes with great force, the car took twice as long to stop than it should have. I went well past the crosswalk and stop sign despite beginning to brake with plenty of time to stop. This is so far from how an ABS system is supposed to work and something that is potentially dangerous. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2024 | SERVICE BRAKES | The ABS starting shaking and skipping the car while braking when I wasn’t even in a situation where ABS needed to be used. It is available for inspection. When this happened it caused braking to be worse and less responsive than what would have happened with normal braking. The car is currently at the dealership being looked over. As this is unsafe when I have a baby in the car. No warning lights or anything. Which is also concerning since the ABS light should be triggered when the ABS system is in use. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2024 | SERVICE BRAKES | When the brakes are applied on uneven road at slow speeds, the brake pulse violently but does not stop. This creates a very dangerous situation. This happened several times and when my daughter was driving the car, came within an inch of rear ending someone. I had a 2021 Palisades Calligraphy which we drove on the same roads and this was never an issue. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2024 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE | Engine fire caused by AC compressor. On 09/28/24, at 1700 miles and in the parking lot of a restaurant, smoke suddenly began filling the cabin and when I looked out the window the entire car's front was engulfed in a gray smoke. The overpowering smell was of burning wire insulation, plastic, and rubber. I immediately shut the car off, popped the hood, and was ready to run into the restaurant for a fire extinguisher when I noticed the large cloud of smoke was dissipating, but the heat was still incredibly extreme and a good amount of smoke was still pouring from the engine. My sister-in-law entered the car to retrieve her purse, and her eyes instantly started watering and she had a headache for several days. She is still complaining of her chest burning. After calling roadside, the AAA driver stated the car really smelled badly burned, and hauled the car off to the dealer of purchase. The fire was on 09/28/24 (a Saturday), and on Monday, 09/30/24, I submitted what took place to Hyundai. This is when the fraud started and Hyundai, with the help of the dealer, have purposely done everything possible to conceal the fire. I have full details of this fraud, and it's simply shocking. I am awaiting information regarding the restaurant's video recordings. | Crash: No Fire: Yes Injuries: 1 | Unknown |
| Oct 2024 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | We were driving on a highway between two towns with no other cars on either side of the highway and our sunroof exploded. We pulled to the side of the road thinking there was a gunshot or a tire exploded to discover the shattered sunroof. Thankfully we had the slide closed and it contained the glass pieces. The sunroof class was pointed upward. No rocks were bouncing around and nothing hit our windshield. The dealership warranty manager says it was a road hazard but there was no hazard to be had around us. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2024 | SERVICE BRAKES | I bought a 24 Palisade Ltd Few month into ownership, I was approaching a stop light going 10 mph and started to apply the brakes as I passed over some slightly bumpy ground. The car lurched forward repeatedly as the brakes were applied, bouncing forward in spurts rather than stopping and taking twice as long to stop than it should have; I was one foot from rear-ending a biker and a car in front of me despite beginning to break with plenty of time to stop - this is so far from how an ABS system is supposed to work and something that will get you in a wreck), Hyundai dealership has told me that, they dont see a problem and fixed nothing. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2024 | WHEELS,UNKNOWN OR OTHER,SERVICE BRAKES | While braking at a stop, and encountering a pothole (has occurred even without a pothole on straight surfaces), it feels like the is ABS kicking in to avoid wheel lockup, and apparent slowing which rapidly mimics activities that could cause hard braking. Similar to when the car is on ice/snow and the car pulses to stop. Unsafe, as the vehicle does not top when intended and forces the vehicle to take longer to stop with the potential to involuntarily enter an intersection. I have had this occur multiple times. I am fearful that I will potentially have an accident with my grandchildren in the car. Dealership is aware of multiple issues, but cannot duplicate and thus will not resolve. No warning lights, or notifications occurred. Has been discussed on 2024 Palisade Calligraphy forums. Review other reviews on reddit where other models have been affected. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2024 | SERVICE BRAKES | After I purchased within a month I was approaching a parking spot and I applied brakes. They wouldn’t press down and the car start jumping forward. I pressed hard and the car would not stop and I hit a curb and it finally stopped. Second time: Approaching a stop sign I went over an un even are in the asphalt and the car jumped forward and I applied brakes and it jumped around and would not stop. I took to purchasing dealership and told them and showed them online issues others were having. They gave a rental for a week and called and said to come and get the car they could not duplicate the issue. I told them I was afraid and didn’t want to hit someone or a person. They said unless they could duplicate there was nothing they could do. I changed dealerships and plan to take to them for the issue. It has happened to me on a dirt road approaching the entrance to make a turn. I am making sure before I take back that I can have someone ride with me and show them. I don’t want them telling me they cannot duplicate again. It is very scary and if a pedestrian was in front of me I have no control of the car when this happens. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2024 | SERVICE BRAKES | Whenever the car goes over bumps in the road at low speeds the ABS system activates. You can feel a “grinding” sensation emanating from the brake pedal. When it happens, if you try to engage the brakes, they don’t engage for several seconds. It happened to me recently with my kids in the car and we almost rolled into a busy intersection and could have been seriously injured. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2024 | SERVICE BRAKES | This happened many times, almost causing an accident once. When driving at a slow speed over a small bump in the road, and braking, the ABS system goes haywire and the vehicle fails to stop. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2024 | SERVICE BRAKES | When stopping on uneven roadway the vehicle shakes violently for a several seconds as the vehicle continues forward. There have been times the vehicle almost impacted another vehicle or traveled forward into an intersection. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2024 | SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC | The contact owns a 2024 Hyundai Palisade. The contact stated while driving 10 MPH and attempting to stop the vehicle, the brake pedal was depressed, and the vehicle failed to respond as needed. The contact stated that the ABS warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 8,000. | Crash: No Fire: No | 8,000 |
| Sep 2024 | SERVICE BRAKES | What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? When braking at low speeds, breaks start to shake (almost as if the ABS kicked in) while going over uneven ground or a bump. Almost as though the brakes skip making it so the car won't come to a stop. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? Car felt like it wasn't going to stop or took longer to stop in a situation where the ABS did not need to kick on. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes, but they say all the cars do it but I see it as a problem since it prevents the car from stopping normally. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? No Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No warning lights or messages when it happens, it just randomly happens. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2024 | SERVICE BRAKES | When braking while going over bumps/railroad tracks/rough roads, the brakes rattle/pump as if the ABS has kicked in and the car doesn’t slow down/stop. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2024 | SERVICE BRAKES | The brakes in this car have a major safety issue. Many others besides me have experienced this issue I have discovered through reddit and youtube. Under very specific conditions the brakes fail to work properly. At slow speeds over uneven surfaces when you hit the brakes occasionally the car will fail to stop and continue on an addition 10-16 feet before finally the brakes kick in and stop. It's a helpless feeling as you press down as hard as possible on the brakes but the car continues to move. This can be difficult to recreate because it does not happen every time, I have found this happens most often driving over train tracks slowly while applying brakes but its also happened in other instances like hit a pothole at slow speeds while applying the brakes. This has probably happened at least a dozen times since Ive had this car about 8 months. I would guess the speed it happens at is about 5-15 mph, never at high speeds thankfully. I feel nervous driving with my babies in the car, I am extra cautious knowing about this issue to attempt to stop much earlier than I normally would. This problem would most likely cause a fender bender with the car stopped ahead of me but what if there's uneven surface while Im stopping at a red light and I end up sliding out into traffic? Please please thoroughly investigate this issue before my family or another family has a tragic problem! Thank you | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2024 | SERVICE BRAKES | In Easton, on a sunny dry day in the 70s. Coming to a stop sign at the bottom of a 30ish degree decline. As I approached the stop sign the brakes at around 10mph started to lock. It felt like ABS kicking in on ice. I skidded past the stop sign. There was nothing I could do to stop it. Luckily no one was in front of me, I would have hit them. I have already reported one very similar incident. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2024 | SERVICE BRAKES | In north Attleboro, on a sunny dry day in the 70s. Coming to a stop sign at the bottom of a 20ish degree decline. As I approached the stop sign the brakes at around 10mph started to lock. It felt like ABS kicking in on ice. I skidded past the stop sign. There was nothing I could do to stop it. Luckily no one was in front of me, I would have hit them. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2024 | SERVICE BRAKES | While driving at low speeds, turning, and braking simultaneously causes the brakes to alternately pulse and the steering wheel to shake left and right violently. It only stops when the brake pedal is released and the car is driving straight. Difficult to replicate but has happened multiple times | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
