| May 2026 | STEERING,SUSPENSION,WHEELS | My wheels will not stay aligned. I’ve had all the property services done to the car, and extra, by a Honda Dealer. I have 8 repair records to alignment on a new car, in under 18 months. Under my state of Virginia laws, only three safety fixes on a car authorize the car as a ‘dud’ and should be a buy back. Honda Corp has in their possession all documents and all notices needed under the law, since November 2025. Honda Corp is not responding. Hello, who holds them to the law? Who is above Honda? It’s been since months since I notified Honda and they won’t follow the law. Who overseas Honda? Hello? | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2026 | STEERING,SUSPENSION,WHEELS | Suspension and wheels do not stay aligned even after 7 attempts by Honda dealers to reset and realign. Suspension always jumps out of alignment. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2026 | STRUCTURE | I own a 2024 Honda HR-V. During the second winter of ownership, the windshield cracked under normal conditions without any known impact, collision, or external force. The vehicle was taken to an authorized Honda dealership for inspection. The dealership did not document any cause of the crack and did not identify any impact damage. Instead, they only provided an estimate for replacement. Despite the lack of documented external cause, the manufacturer has classified the damage as “external” and declined responsibility. I am concerned that this may indicate a potential defect in the windshield or structural stress issue, as the crack occurred without any identifiable external trigger. I am submitting this report to ensure this issue is documented in case similar incidents occur with other vehicles. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2026 | VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | The contact owns a 2024 Honda HR-V. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the instrument cluster went black. The contact stated that the failure had occurred while the cruise control was activated while driving in the rain or whenever the weather was dry. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent, and there was a message that several undisclosed safety features were disabled. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer on several occasions; however, the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 29,853. | Crash: No Fire: No | 29,853 |
| Apr 2026 | STEERING | On March 8th 2026 I noticed a shudder or vibration from my steering wheel while pulling up into my parking spot, this does not happen when the vehicle is moving faster. I even turned my steering wheel fully to the right and left when I am parked and the vibration is there. I took the car to Future Honda at Citrus Heights CA and the first time they’ve told me the car was perfectly fine. Before I got off from work that day I asked the service manager if it was possible for the Shop Foreman to sit with me inside the car so I could show him and address the issue since nothing like that was happening while the car was moving and as stated by them over the phone. Shop Foreman finally got to see what I was talking about and service advisor asked me to leave the car for another day. Next day service advisor came back to me with a quote of $4,597 for a replacement of the steering rack. Recall 24V-744 states those related issues with the steering components. I was denied a full repair on my vehicle from Honda Corporate even when I stated the NHTSA 24V-744 recall. The dealer said the recall was done on November 13, 2024 and nothing else was needed to be done. The report from the dealer even states that they found a vibration on sharp turns which I know it does not happen to me at all, so I don’t think they are being completely accurate on their report. I have all that paperwork if needed and also Honda Corporate. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Mar 2026 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER,SERVICE BRAKES,ENGINE | I WAS GOING UP A STEEP NARROW ROAD, A BIG TRUCK WAS COMING DOWN SO I STOPPED AND HONKED SO HE WOULD BACK UP. WHEN HE DID, I WAS UNABLE TO MOVE MY SUV. IT FROOZE ENTIRELY, WOULDNT GO UP, WOULDNT GO IN REVERSE, JUST STAYED ON BUT WOULD NOT MOVE. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS I WAS ABLE TO GO BACK A LITTLE AND MOVE TO A SIDE AND THEN I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE UP THE ROAD. THIS WAS THE 2ND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED SO I ASKED THE SERVICE SHOP AT THE DEALER TO CHECK IN DRIVING THE SAME ROAD. THE SITUATION DID NOT REPLICATE, THEREFORE THEY SAY THERES NOTHING THEY CAN DO OR CHECK, ALTHOUGH I HAVE READ THAT THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN KNOW TO DO THIS, BUT THEY DID NOT EVEN LOOK AT THE PRINTED EVIDENCE I TOOK TO THEM.. THERE WERE SUGGESTIONS ON WHAT HAD TO BE CHECKED BUT THE MANAGER REFUSED TO EVEN READ THE INFORMATION. THE MECHANIC SUGGESTED I STEP ON THE GAS UP TO THE END, ALTHOUGH THE MANUAL SAYS YOU SHOULD HIT GAS SLOWLY WHEN STOPING ON A HILL. EITHER WAY I TRIED BOTH WAYS....IT STILL FREEZES. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Mar 2026 | STEERING | I own a 2024 Honda HR-V. The vehicle developed a steering problem where the steering wheel becomes unusually stiff and difficult to control. Honda issued NHTSA Recall 24V-744 for defective steering gearbox components affecting 2023-2025 Honda HR-V vehicles. My vehicle was manufactured during the same production period referenced in the recall. However, my VIN is not included in the recall even though the symptoms match the defect described by Honda. A Honda dealership inspected the vehicle and indicated the steering system requires repair estimated at approximately $4,000. Because the defect matches the steering gearbox issue described in Recall 24V-744, I believe my vehicle may have the same safety defect but was excluded from the recall. This creates a potential safety risk because steering control can be affected while driving. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Feb 2026 | SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | The contact owns a 2024 Honda HR-V. The contact stated that while the contact's daughter was driving at 42 mph with the cruise control engaged, the collision mitigation sensor independently activated. The contact's daughter noticed that the steering wheel had almost seized, and the vehicle's speed abruptly decreased. The vehicle stopped in the middle of the road. Another vehicle was making a turn and crashed into the contact's vehicle. In addition, the "Brake" message was illuminated. The vehicle was driven to the contact's residence. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The contact mentioned that the failure was a known failure with the vehicle. The contact's daughter was taken to the local medical center. The contact's daughter sustained muscle pain in the back, neck, both shoulders, both jaws, and severe headaches. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 61,000. | Crash: Yes Fire: No Injuries: 1 Medical attention | 61,000 |
| Feb 2026 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,AIR BAGS,SEAT BELTS | I have had a Supplement Restraint Problem light on since I bought they vehicle. It was on and off intermittently for the past year or so, however now it will not go off. Upon inspection the wiring is damaged and there is not cover to the ground according to the honda mechanic that looked at my vehicle. I have not had any service work done in the area where the SRS box is located and they did not perform any further inspection on the system. Again, this was on when I bought my 2024 honda HR-V. The dealer was made aware and they advised me that it should be covered under warranty however nobody will fix the issue at this time. Please review and look into this issue as it has been noted in prior service bulletins for the SRS system light to have issues. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2026 | SERVICE BRAKES | 12/7/2025 at about 7:20pm and about 17518 miles: grandparent were driving home and brakes failed as grandpa was parking in the driveway. He said after applying the brakes the car keep rolling forward and hit the garage door then rolled backwards, brake did not stop backward movement for over a minute. No injuries. Inspection from insurance and collisions repair center found no cause for brake failure. 01/4/2026 at about 8:16pm and approximately 18122 miles: as my mom was approaching a main road with 55 mph traffic to turn left the brakes failed to bring the car to a complete stop at the intersection causing the car to roll into on coming traffic. She said when she applied the brakes they seem to engage at the start and slowed the vehicle a little bit but did not seem to apply “full braking” to actually stop the car. Oncoming traffic did manage to swerve around car as mom maneuvered it into the middle lane, while it continued to coast down the road for a short distance the brakes failed did come back enough to drive home. Will be sending to Honda deal for though inspection. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2026 | STEERING,WHEELS | i hit a curb going about 10mph the axel bent and the whole wheel pop off with the shock and everything. it totaled the car i’ve tried to report to honda no reply | Crash: Yes Fire: No Towed | Unknown |
| Nov 2025 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,VISIBILITY,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | The contact owns a 2024 Honda HR-V. The contact stated while driving approximately 60 MPH, the Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) warning light illuminated, and the vehicle independently decelerated. Several unknown warning lights were illuminated. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle warned the driver of the vehicle proximity to another vehicle, or of driving out of the intended lane erroneously. The contact stated that while attempting to roll down the passenger’s side window, the window failed to respond as intended. The vehicle was taken to an unknown local dealer on several occasions and was diagnosed with an engine oil leak, debris in the window module, and the battery needed to be replaced. No additional information was available. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 10,000. | Crash: No Fire: No Towed | 10,000 |
| Oct 2025 | VISIBILITY/WIPER | The driver side wiper does not spray fluid through the top of the blade only the nozzles at the bottom spray deicer/fluid. On highway driving especially in frost freeze conditions this limits the drivers ability to see forward as road dirt and frost/ice are not able to be removed. That the fluid only comes out the bottom means that the part of the windshield the driver needs to see out of is not completely cleaned or de-iced limiting specifically the drivers vision to the front. This has caused multiple near misses on highway and around town driving especially at night. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2025 | SEAT BELTS | I am filing a safety complaint regarding my 2024 Honda HR-V Sport (VIN: [XXX] , mileage: 45,000). The driver’s seat lowers unexpectedly while driving. This happens without warning and creates a serious safety hazard, especially when operating the vehicle on highways. I commute daily in New Jersey (Elizabeth to Union City, approx. 40 minutes on highways), and this defect places me and other drivers at risk. Despite multiple visits to Honda of Route 22 and Honda Service Center (Hillside, NJ), Honda has refused to repair or replace the defective seat under warranty. A technician even admitted this is a known issue with this model. Honda has denied coverage and left me driving a dangerous vehicle. This unresolved defect is a direct safety concern and I request NHTSA / NJDCA intervention to investigate and compel Honda to act. Case reference with Honda: #[XXX] (filed September 12, 2025). | Sep 2025 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | AC System Failed. AC Will Not Turn On, Changed All Fuses Related To AC Related Issues, Still Wont Blow At All. Maybe Blower Motor Or Resistor Which Should Not Be Broken After Just 1 Year. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Aug 2025 | VISIBILITY/WIPER | Two cracked have mysteriously appeared on my FRONT windshield. My vehicle was not involved in any accidents, nor have it been hit by any objects. The cracks are not on the outside, if you feel the windshield it is from the INSIDE, which indicates a factory defect since I'm the only driver of this vehicle, I can state this with 100% certainty. I purchased this vehicle brand new. It's barely one year since I've purchased it. 2024 Honda HR-V. I've seen 3 other Honda HR-V in my neighborhood with similar FRONT windshield cracks in the same area as mines. Their vehicles are similar models, except one is a sport HR-V. This is not a coincidence. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Aug 2025 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER,SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | I was driving normally, and a car was coming up to a stop sign from my right side on a completely different road and the car jerked and the brakes automatically applied to the car and the dash blinked “BRAKE” for a brief moment. I’ve had the car for awhile and it has never done anything like that. Some days the blind spot doesn’t work either, when I know there is a car next to me the light on the mirrors and the beeping does not activate. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jul 2025 | VISIBILITY/WIPER | Front windshield cracking. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jul 2025 | EXTERIOR LIGHTING,SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | On several occasions the automatic brights have turned on when there were cars at crossroads, and when cars were within sight. The regular lights of the car are repeatedly interfering with visibility of other drivers, as the lights are much too bright and angled right in other driver's eyes. We avoid driving at night due to blinding other vehicles and preventing crashes. We are flashed constantly. The automatic braking has turned on when there were no objects, pedestrians, or cars in front of the vehicle - nearly causing us to get rear-ended by the vehicle behind us. The brakes because sticky after only 16 months of use. The steering is sticky as well. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jun 2025 | FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | My vehicle has the check engine light on due to problems in the fuel tank emissions system. I have taken the vehicle to the dealer on more than 7 occasions and they have not provided a solution. The vehicle is expelling gases through the fuel tank cap and has an excessively bad smell of gasoline. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2025 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER,VISIBILITY/WIPER | Vehicle was parked in the driveway and the rear passenger side window exploded. No projectiles, no prior damage. Windows were all rolled up, vehicle was locked. Weather was a high of 92 and the vehicle was partly shaded. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2025 | SERVICE BRAKES | I have brought the vehicle into the dealership multiple times due to dangerous behavior involving the Honda Sensing system. The vehicle has attempted to steer out of lanes, and shown repeated safety warnings related to the Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), and Road Departure Mitigation (RDM). Despite these serious issues, the dealership repeatedly tells me that “no codes were found” and refuses to provide full diagnostic records or confirmation that proper factory scan tools (HDS/i-HDS) were used. I suspect they may be clearing codes or failing to document the issues appropriately. The problem is intermittent but dangerous, and I am very concerned it may lead to a crash or serious injury. Honda has not resolved this, and I believe this is a widespread safety defect that deserves further investigation. Most recently, while driving on the highway, the vehicle suddenly applied the brakes without any obstacle or warning, creating a highly dangerous situation. This incident was alarming and could have resulted in a serious accident.
Since that event, the vehicle has continued, from time to time, to display warning messages related to the Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) and Road Departure Mitigation (RDM). These alerts occur sporadically and do not appear to be triggered by any identifiable driving condition. The dealership does not want to look at the car again for this problem and is trying to tell me I have to deal with Honda directly who is not escalating the issue even after multiple request as I fear for my safety and that of anyone in the vicinity of the vehicle. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2025 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER | Front Window- The front window malfunctioned and will all of a sudden go up and down several times. I am making a report with the dealership but, this is a huge risk since someone can unknowly get themselves stuck. Doors & Trunk lock- The doors and trunk will lock without being prompted to. I have a child that has been unable to get out of the vehicle. The trunk gets stuck as well and will not open. Even after shutting and restarting the vehicle. This will also be reported to the dealership. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2025 | STEERING | The contact owns a 2024 Honda HR-V. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V744000 (Steering); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated while reversing, the steering wheel seized. The contact stated that upon turning off and restarting the vehicle, the steering wheel operated as needed. There was no warning light illuminated. The local dealer was contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown. Parts distribution disconnect. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2025 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | While driving, the car did an automatic hard brake for no reason. Traffic was accelerating after being stopped at a red light. The car in front of me was not braking and was accelerating away from me when suddenly the car hard brakes with no warning beforehand. It braked hard enough to throw me forward and cause traffic behind me to have to hard brake in order to keep from rear-ending me. There was an on ramp coming in near me but again that traffic was not in my lane. I have not complained to the dealership yet so it has not been reviewed and I have no reports since an accident did not happen. There were no warning lamps or messages before the event; although the brake light came on when the hard brake occurred, but not before. This was the first time it has occurred since purchasing the car about a year and a half ago. It was terrifying. It’s an hour later and I’m still shook up. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
