Date Component Summary Severity Mileage
Feb 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,EXTERIOR LIGHTING The component that is malfunctioning is the LCD dash screen that contains all of the dash indicators (Speed, RPM, gear indicator, etc.). The issue is that without warning, different colored lines flash across the screen. It is distracting and I am quite worried that if the screen goes out, I will not know how fast I am going, and I won't be able to see any of the dash indicators related to the system status. It is getting worse every day that I have the vehicle, and now the whole screen is flickering. I purchased the vehicle approximately 3 days ago and the issue has recurred every single day and I have taken a video every time it occurs (as of this report I have 7 videos). The vehicle has not been confirmed by the dealer or others because the dealer will not let me bring it in until their next available appointment on 3 March 2025. There are no warning lamps or messages that come up. Typically the symptoms appear after the vehicle is fully warmed up, or if the heater has been running for a while.

Jan 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM While driving, the screen in front of the driver (dash) which displays information such as speed, transmission gear, parking brake, and other important information, will flicker and/or be distorted. This results in driver distraction and may prevent the driver from seeing safety-related information such as vehicle speed while operating the vehicle. The issue is intermittent, but typically resets when the vehicle is powered off and back on.

Jan 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM Every day at random when I drive to work I notice in what seems milliseconds that the digital gauge cluster screen will shut off and back on almost instantly, but slow enough that I notice it. It is always random and I have no way of replicating it. I noticed it after about 2,000 miles on this brand new truck.

Jan 2025 FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM Purchased vehicle on [XXX]. The vehicle was brand new and had 12 miles on it. I drove the vehicle home. My family and I went out to dinner and returned home and the vehicle remained in our garage. In the morning, I drove the vehicle to the gym. the vehicle was at that location for approximately two hours. I then drove it to my workplace. When I pulled into the parking lot I noticed some smoke from the hood. I turned off the vehicle and popped the hood. I then tried to open the hood, but realized that the vehicle was on fire. I backed away from the vehicle and called 911. The vehicle was ablaze within 1 minute of me exiting the vehicle. Firefighters responded approximately 8 minutes later and put out the fire. I do have videos of the fire happening INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Jan 2025 POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM My 2024 Ford F-150 Raptor V6, a brand-new vehicle purchased on [XXX], has accumulated 767 miles. On the evening of [XXX] in Orange County, California, while driving on the freeway at approximately 75 miles per hour, I experienced an unexpected issue. Everything appeared normal, and there were no warning lights on the instrument cluster indicating any problems with the truck. However, a few miles before exiting the freeway, I received a message through the Ford Pass App, accompanied by a warning on the instrument cluster that read, “Drivetrain malfunction, reduced power.” Despite the warning, I continued driving cautiously until I reached my home. Upon pulling into my driveway, I scanned my vehicle for error codes, which revealed the following: P0929-77 Gear Shift Lock Solenoid/Actuator Circuit "A" Range/Performance U211B-87 Control Module Message Authentication B1578-89 Digital Park Assist Camera Vision System U023A-00 Lost Communication With Image Processing Module A U0415-00 Invalid Data Received from Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) Control Module "A" U102F-00 Invalid Internal Control Module Monitoring Data Received From All Wheel Drive Control Module The code that triggered the check engine light, as indicated by my vehicle’s scanning app, is P0929-77. On December 31st, I took the vehicle to Caruso Ford in Long Beach, California, for diagnosis. Unfortunately, Caruso Ford is currently unable to pinpoint the fault. The tech who examined my vehicle believes it’s an electrical issue rather than mechanical. I hope to receive an update on my vehicle by Tuesday, January 7th. Dec 2024 STEERING,SUSPENSION,WHEELS I purchased a new 2024 Ford F-150 on August 31, 2024, and just six weeks later, on October 19, 2024, the entire left front suspension failed while I was driving at 50-55 MPH. The truck suddenly and unexpectedly took a hard left and I nearly lost control of the vehicle. It was incredibly difficult to maintain control of the truck as it swerved dangerously, but I managed to guide it to the shoulder and called for a tow to the dealership where I bought it. I discovered the left front tire and rim had detached and the entire front suspension pulled out of the truck. The left front tire was positioned sideways under the truck. My concern is there's potential issues stemming from what appears to be a failure to properly torque the top control arm at the factory that are being covered up. I was told that Ford recalled some Rangers and Broncos after it was discovered the nut on the left upper control arm was either missing or not properly torqued in the plant. To my knowledge there has not been a recall on the F150 models. If the incident had occurred on the interstate or while meeting an oncoming vehicle, I have no doubt there would have been serious injuries or fatalities involved. The were no warning signs or symptoms prior to the incident occurring. The truck remained at the dealership in repair until November 20th.

Aug 2024 AIR BAGS At approximately 6:20 PM on Friday, July 26, 2024 airbags exploded on a Ford F-150 while it was on the assembly line (Chassis Line 5) at Ford Motor Company's Dearborn Truck Plant (DTP). Two hourly employees, one of them in the driver's seat, were working on the truck at the time and both were sent to an area hospital for treatment. The line was stopped, but only for about 30-40 minutes. By 7 PM it was running again until the conclusion of our scheduled ten-hour day, which occurred at 4:30 AM. The truck could not be removed from the line where the explosion had happened, so it had to be run all the way to the end of Chassis Line 7, where it was pushed off. Employees were extremely angry, to put it mildly, and concerned about another occurrence. I reported this to the Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration (MIOSHA) on Monday, July 29, 2024. Their complaint number is 2193285.

Jul 2024 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM Not 5 minutes ago I reported an issue to NHTSA regarding a 2024 Ford F-150 V6 Raptor. Just as I was submitting the form, I got an alert that remote features are disabled to preserve battery. The error texted to my phone states: “Don't worry though, nothing is wrong. This happens automatically when you haven't started your vehicle for a period of time.” I am not understanding why an error related to not driving recently would appear, I just drove about 70 miles round trip and have been home less than 30 minutes.

Jul 2024 SERVICE BRAKES Twice when opening the drivers door, my 2024 Ford F-150 Raptor V6 has chimed and then displayed “Brake System Failure”. Starting the truck, shutting off the motor and locking/unlocking the drivers door appears to clear the message. The local Ford dealership updated the software and believed it corrected the issue. Today, I drove approximately 30 miles, shut off the engine, locked the door and had lunch. When entering the truck again, I got an alert chime and the dashboard had an error reading “Parking Brake Failure”.

Jun 2024 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE The contact leases a 2024 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the vehicle was under a trial subscription for the driver assistance system BlueCruise, which included the driver-attention system. The contact stated that while driving at night and wearing his medical eyeglasses, the BlueCruise driver-attention system failed to see through the contact's eyeglasses and could not determine that the contact was awake, which caused the vehicle to jerk several times. Additionally, the messages "Watch the Road" and "Resume Control" were displayed, and the hazard lights were engaged. The contact stated that the BlueCruise system then disengaged independently, causing the Adaptive Cruise Control, the Lake Keep Assist, and the Lane Centering Assist to disengage. The contact stated that the failure had been recurring while driving. The contact stated that the BlueCruise system automatically engaged when the Adaptive Cruise Control mode was engaged and could not be overridden. The dealer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the manufacturer for assistance. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the dealer for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 100.
