May 2025 LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES The contact owns a 2023 Toyota Camry. The contact stated that while attempting to use the key fob to lock the vehicle, the doors failed to lock as needed. The passenger’s side rear doors were unable to be locked automatically or by using the buttons inside the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed and determined that the lock actuators on the rear doors were inoperable and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and opened a case. The failure mileage was approximately 37,500.

Apr 2025 POWER TRAIN This 2023 was bought brand new and has been driven for 2.5 years. At just over 60000 miles the transmission failed. I have had this car serviced regularly with no indications or warnings of any problems until it just stopped shifting normally one day. Took it to toyota and they ran a diagnostic indeed stating the transmission has to be replaced entirely. And because I am just over 60000 miles they will not honor a warranty on it. Transmissions should not go out at 62000 miles. This is a defect.

Apr 2025 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE The vehicle ADAS system (pre-collision, ABS, RSA, adaptive cruise control) malfunctioned (due to no physical or external fault) and sent messages to be brought to the dealer. Upon being brought to the dealer they’re telling me that the car’s physical battery (low amperage) is responsible for disabling the vehicles factory safety settings. Aside from having an open dispute with this dealer at the moment to cover the problem under my platinum warranty, this is a major defect in Toyota motor corps factory vehicle settings. At the moment the car is a safety liability because of a “battery”

Jan 2025 SERVICE BRAKES When pressing the brake pedal a clicking vibrating sound comes from the brake pedal area. Per the manufacturer it is coming from abs system and is common for all the toyota camry 2023. This noise is definitely not normal and need to be assessed if there can be hazards related to this.

Dec 2024 ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM On multiple occasion's the vehicle takes longer than usual to start and it suddenly starts misfiring and running poorly when I'm driving it. At one point I was turning into a busy intersection and I thought the vehicle was going to stall. I have taken the vehicle to the dealership and they have confirmed there is problem with the fuel injectors. When the vehicle runs poorly, multiple warning lights appear on the dash and several of the safety systems are disabled. The vehicle is presently at the dealership for repairs, it only has 11,000 miles on it.

Nov 2024 UNKNOWN OR OTHER My 2023 Camry has 'floormat-hold-down-clips' on the drivers side only. The passenger side has none and without them it allows the mat to roll up. Aside from being annoying, it is also a tripping hazard. My wife and I are both in our mid seventies and broken bones are a real concern. I contacted Toyota customer service and their solution was NOT to anchor the loose floor mat down but to give me a replacement mat ----fixing nothing.

Oct 2024 UNKNOWN OR OTHER,LANE DEPARTURE,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE The smart stop system, the vehicle stability control system, the electrical power steering system, the blind spot monitoring system, the secondary collision brake system, and the lane keeping assistance all malfunctioned while traveling home one night. My made a really loud continuous beeping sound as I was driving the vehicle sensed it was departing its lane and the lane keeping assistance over steered left. This caused my vehicle to scrape the curb, causing cosmetic damage, mess up the wheel alignment , and crack front drivers side rim, because I physically tried to turn away to prevent any impact with the curb. I also had this vehicle stop in the middle of the road MULTIPLE TIMES DETECTING an object or obstruction was in the road when nothing was there! This almost caused rear end collisions multiple times when it happened. I actually turned this feature down to the lowest possible setting to prevent it from happening. If you are asking is it available for inspection by me it is not. This vehicle had an extremely high monthly car note. Once I took it to the dealership for inspection, they were not willing to honor my new car warranty. Even though I brought this car with 10 miles on the odometer. The dealership was negligent, & as was Toyota corporation. when I called to have it inspected and got their upper management involved. They sent out a 3rd party inspector to look at my car at Jerry’s Toyota inc, located in Baltimore Maryland where it was purchased. Upon inspection nothing was said or noted at all about any of the malfunctioned systems to my vehicle, they used it having exterior damage from impacting the curb to say, the problem was my fault & to get insurance to fix it because it’s not their problem. Yes my safety and other safety were put at risk because of this vehicle. Yes it was inspected by a 3rd party inspector Toyota hired to look at the vehicle. It has since been repossessed because I could not drive it safely. No their were no warning lamps prior

Jun 2024 TIRES 235/45R 18 94V Tires emit very loud road noise at various speeds. I have rotated tires every 5,000 miles. I have aligned the front end 2x to correct problem. Tires swerve/jerk in a turn. Problems began at about 25,000 miles. It just rolled over 35,000 miles. Toyota dealership has examined the problem, driven the car, and declare there is no warranty.

May 2024 VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL On April [XXX] at about [XXX] a.m., upon returning from exercising at the Peter Blum YMCA in Boca Raton, I was very slowly parking my car in the garage. The car was half way in when it suddenly accelerated forwards, impacting two bicycles standing on their racks at the end of the garage, the washing machine, the dryer, the water heater and through them, the garage back wall, where cracks were created. I applied the brakes as hard as I could but the car just kept going. It finally stopped, after hitting the bicycles and the appliances. Astonished by what was happening, I put the car in park and then very carefully, I went backwards to review the damage. All of a sudden, the car accelerated backwards until it hit some bushes across the street from my house. It is a street with foot traffic by neighbors holding their small kids and dogs. Cars are usually parked on the side walk. Miraculously, nobody was injured and no car was parked. I authorized inspection by Toyota. My insurance company GEICO only inspected body damages to the car. There were no warnings. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Apr 2024 TIRES:SIDEWALL 235/45R18 94V. Hankook Kinergy GT While driving at 40-50 mph driver rear tire split between the sidewall and the treads, completely. It split was most of the way around (240 degrees) and there was no connection left between the sidewall and the treads. Needless to say pressure wax zero. Car does monitor tire pressure and prior to the deflation no indication of a problem was noted. The car is only 10 months old with about 16000 miles on them, and the tires were supposed to be rotated by the dealer every 5-6,000 miles, which we requested.

Apr 2024 ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM With the car on, and wanting to take off, I pressed the accelerator pedal and there was a several second delayed reaction in throttle response/car movement. The car eventually started to move. This is the 3rd time I have went to push the gas pedal and the car did not immediately respond. There are no check engine or other warning lights on the dashboard. This is a huge safety issue as one time I went to pull out and the car acceleration did not respond almost causing an accident. I have not yet taken the car to the dealership but plan to soon. The last time I took the car to the dealer they said they would charge me, even if the vehicle is in warranty period, if they did not find anything therefore discouraging such items from being reported/further investigated. The first event was quite some time ago but the last 2 have happended in the last 30 days with the 3rd being 4.13.24.

Mar 2024 TIRES I bought this set of tires new from Sams Club on 10/28/2023. On 12/16/2023 a TPMS warning light came on so I added air. Then three days the light came on and I added air again, and so on, and so on until 12/28/2023 I took it back to Sams Club and they replaced the tire with another tire of the same brand and type, and said it was a manufacturing defect. About a month later on 1/31/2024 the TPMS light came back on, so I added air and took it back to Sams Club to have it checked. They said it had a "hole" and they fixed it and put it back on. Then on 2/27/2024 the TPMS light came on and I added air and soaped all the tires and the same tire was leaking around the rim, and another tire on the rear driver side was bubbling around the rim. I compared the pictures to verify that the leaks were on different locations on the wheel, but the same location on the tire. In total, I've had three of these tires leak around the rim; two from the set I purchased on 10/28/2023, and one that they put on 12/28/2023 to replace the first tire that leaked. I spoke with a manager at Sams Club this morning and they're replacing the set with a different brand that matches what came with the car from the factory. I have pictures of all three leaks, and the last two tire codes.
