The contact stated that there was traffic behind, and the vehicle decelerated to 10 MPH. The contact stated that drivers were honking their horns for her to speed up. Dec 2023 ENGINE As I was accelerating to merge onto the toll way from 45 mph to 70 mph, I switched to sports mode and reached almost 74 mph. At that point white smoke started coming from the exhaust and the engine started to severely knock. After a few minutes the check engine, oil and high temperature lights came on, on the dash. The vehicle indicated that I pull over and stopped driving. After towing into the dealership, I was told the engine and turbo system had to be changed. After 2 business days I was informed the engine is on back order and I have been on a loaner for a month as of this report. I escalated the issue to Nissan but I have not got any resolution yet. I drove the vehicle for around 12000 miles for since April this year. Glad it is still under warranty. I asked for a replacement vehicle but nissan said it is not an option and I will have to deal with the base model loaner which is not what I purchased(SV with all upgrades). Any assistance to resolve my situation would be greatly appreciated.

Dec 2023 FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM Check light comes on. Vehicle unexpectedly looses engine power while driving. Very dangerous situation as you don’t have time to pull over. Vehicle restarts then it happens again. Nissan dealership has no fix for the problem and gave us the car back. The vehicle has been to the dealership twice already. This is urgent and very dangerous.

Dec 2023 ENGINE Vehicle just turned 11,000 miles. As I was accelerating up a hill, the RPM’s were extremely high and then I heard an awful noise in the engine. The car immediately shut down and overheated. It was determined the turbo chip blew apart causing catastrophic damage to the engine. I ended up needing to hire a lemon law attorney and Nissan bought the vehicle back from me. Nissan refused to compensate me for any inconveniences I incurred during the time. I had to pay out of pocket for a tow truck to come get the vehicle off the road because I was stuck on a dangerous corner and the police officers said the car needed to be moved ASAP. I had a trip planned with the vehicle in 2 weeks and ended up having to buy plane tickets instead because the loaner vehicle I had to fight the dealership for said the loaner couldn’t leave New York State. It took me a week to fight the dealership to give me a loaner vehicle. Nissan corporate was terrible to deal with. When I went to turn the vehicle in for the buy back process, the dealership told me they are up to 4 vehicles with the same issue now. It’s the new engine in the 2023 Nissans. This needs to be looked into and Nissan needs to be held accountable.

Dec 2023 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE In the 5mph stop and go traffic of leaving a sloped parking garage, the brakes did not respond to repeated attempts to stop the Rogue. The brakes did not work with pumping them, hard pressure or light pressure. No collision warning alerts activated. (No beeping, lights or camera occurred as it usually does when an object is close to the vehicle.) No emergency braking activated. The only thing that stopped the Rogue was the impact with the vehicle in front of me. There is damage to the front bumper as well as the rear bumper of the car I hit. I turned off the car for 2 minutes and turned it back on to move it out of the way of the traffic behind me. The brake function returned as normal as did the collision warning alerts. The Rogue was taken to the Nissan dealership from which I purchased it. They state that they are waiting for a Nissan representative specialist to come to the location to attempt to reproduce the issue and fix the problem. There have been zero previous incidents of any kind with this vehicle. I purchased it new in March, 2023. The insurance claim has been filed but no body repairs have been scheduled because the priority is the brake system failure.

Dec 2023 ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM I bought my first brand new 2023 Nissan Rogue SV Oct 29th 2022. I noticed a weird acceleration at times. Nissan said nothing wrong. Then I believe in spring time.. maybe April that I started noticing my garage smell of gas, the inside of car smells like gas. Nissan fixes it and said part is on backorder but they were going to use a temporary fix that may or may not hold up. October 30 2023 I brought it back in to have same issued fixed. Week of Nov 27 2023 my garage smelt the worst it has ever smelt. Like gas was spilled all over. It was that strong. Inside of car smelt of gas. I had a headache all week. My son did for 3 days. Id come out of work and I could smell the gas before I even got to my vehicle that has been sitting outside all day. I called Burnsville Nissan and asked for another appt. Went today and said couldn't smell it but replaced tube (same as other 2 times) it's a known problem with 2021-23 Nissan Rogues. I see there are plenty of lawsuits and Nissan is well aware and has been aware of this issue. This issue will cause engine failure. It's unsafe. I have 2 young kids. I'm a single mom. What if my engine fails on a freeway out of nowhere with my kids. This is unacceptable for Nissan and needs to be addressed.

Nov 2023 ENGINE At about 17900 miles on my 2023 Rogue I got a engine malfunction warning the vehicle speed was reduced to 10pm on the freeway. Luckily I was able to pull over immediately. I had it towed to the Nissan dealer. They informed me it was a foot pedal issue and said the car was fixed. I drove it home fine however the following day the vehicle engine started to smoke and there was smoke coming out of the exhaust. I had the vehicle towed to the dealership and it needs a new engine and turbo. They are trying not to assume responsibility saying lack of maintenance. I had the full service done literally 3 weeks before the incident. There seems to be several people dealing with the same issue.

Sep 2023 FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM At 700 miles I started the vehicle and tried to drive when vehicle lost power and had no acceleration. I shut off the car and restarted and it was fine. It has happened several times since then including while driving. The dash shows engine malfunction reduced power service now. When it occurs the vehicles power is reduced to an idle. It’s been to the dealer and hasn’t been able to be duplicated. The manufacturer has been notified but seem not to care. It has happened on the street while driving and all I can do is pull over. If this were to happen on the freeway it could be very dangerous.

Sep 2023 UNKNOWN OR OTHER The "Engine Malfunction Power Reduced" light came on while I was driving on a highway during a traffic slow down in Houston, TX on September 9, 2023. After the light came on, I stepped on the accelerator and the vehicle was moving very slowly. I quickly turned on the emergency lights to alert other drivers on the highway and pulled slowly towards the right shoulder. I drove on the right shoulder very slowly even by stepping all the way on the accelerator and exited the driveway. I stopped at a nearly gas station and turned off the engine. I let the engine turned off for 3 to 5 minutes and restarted the vehicle. The "Engine Malfunction Power Reduced" went off and it drove fine after that. It could be a very dangerous situation if this was not happened during a traffic slow down. Fortunately, I was able to get out of the highway safely. This happen when the vehicle total mileage was only at about 9872 miles. I drove the vehicle back to Round Rock, TX and ordered a maintenance service at the Nissan dealership on 9/11/2023. I left the vehicle with the service department for 3 days. After 3 days, the service department told me it was the battery issue and they replaced the battery. I was told the issued was fixed. However, after about a week or two after the service, the "Engine Malfunction Power Reduced" light came on again on 9/22/2023 while starting at a parking lot. I turned off the engine for a few minutes and restarted the vehicle and the light went off. The second time this happen when the vehicle total mileage was at about 10,316 miles. The service department told me the issue was fixed but the issue appears to be still there. I will bring the vehicle back to service but I have totally lost confident in driving the vehicle.

Sep 2023 ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM On July 21,2023 while driving at highway speeds the engine started to sputter. Multiple engine failure lights came on. The engine died and I had 1-2 seconds to get the vehicle out of the highway onto the shoulder. I was told the by the dealer that part of the fuel injector may have come loose and damaged the cylinder. The vehicle had only 562 miles on it. I do not have any paperwork on it because almost 2 months later the car is still at the dealer. Today I was informed the new engine they installed also failed because of a bad cylinder.
