| Sep 2024 | ENGINE | I purchased the car used 3 weeks ago, still under full Nissan Warranty. 10 days ago, while driving, unexpectedly, engine started knocking loudly and then shut down. My granddaughter was driving, and was unable to restart. The Nissan dealer had performed a "health check" of the car a week prior and noted no concerns. And the dealer who sold me the car did the same, before selling it to me. Car was towed to the Nissan dealership. The engine is completely blown and there were metal chips in the oil pan. The Nissan dealership is awaiting authorization from Nissan to replace the engine and any other system impacted. It's going to take weeks to repair. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2024 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | The rear windshield of my Nissan Rogue exploded out. The car was off and parked. While I was drive, prior to incident, I had the defroster on. After I heard the loud “pop” sound, I walked over to car and heard the glass sizzling! There was a huge hole and some small holes, as well as cracks along the edge of the entire rear windshield. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |

| Aug 2024 | ENGINE | The contact owns a 2023 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated while driving approximately 30 MPH, there was white smoke entering inside the cabin of the vehicle from the exhaust pipes. No warning lights were illuminated. The contact pulled over to the shoulder of the roadway and exited the vehicle safely. In addition, the vehicle would not crank or restart. The vehicle was towed to a local dealer where it was diagnosed but the cause of the failure could not be determined. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 24,850. | Crash: No Fire: No Towed | 24,850 |
| Aug 2024 | POWER TRAIN,UNKNOWN OR OTHER,ENGINE | At 8:00 PM, driving 70 MPH on [XXX] from Dallas to Houston, Texas, multiple warning lights and messages illuminated on the dash. Other than a low fuel warning, there were no other warnings or messages at the time of the incident. The warnings and messages displayed were "AWD Error", AEB system OFF, RAB system OFF, slip indicator or VDC OFF, master warning light, and "Engine Malfunction Power reduced Service now." When this occurred, the vehicle began decelerating, and I was unable to accelerate and return to highway speeds. I was driving in the left lane and had to make my way to the shoulder on the right of the highway. Fortunately, I came to a stop approximately two miles from the [XXX] exit for Centerville, Texas. It would have been extremely dangerous to remain on the shoulder, especially after sunset, so after reading the owner's manual, I decided to travel the shoulder at the very reduced speed my vehicle allowed. After exiting to a safe location and refueling, I called 24/7 Nissan roadside assistance at 8:50 PM. I was told a tow truck would arrive around 10:20 PM, and I would receive text messages with status updates. I called three more times, at 9:32, 11:28, and 11:54 PM. I never received a text message because no towing providers were ever located and dispatched to my location. On the final call at 11:54, I was told they would try again at 8:00 AM. Centerville, Texas is a small town with a population under 1,000 people. I was left stranded nearly 150 miles from home in a non-major metropolitan city without ample resources such as uber to take me to the nearest hotel. Furthermore, had I not called back, no one from Nissan was going to inform me that I would not receive a tow. | Jul 2024 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | My forward collision sensor/alert disables after driving 2-3 miles. This problem began at 5500 miles and reoccurs every time driven. I visited the dealership who explained this is a known issue and there is no fix yet available. Nissan will likely issue a recall once the issue is fixed. The technician explained the issue could be a sensor issue or a software issue with this model. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jun 2024 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | While driving at highway speeds, either in cruise control mode or not I get a sound notification and my dashboard shows a Malfunction message and all safety features have become disabled including cruise control. This has occurred at 389 miles, 3223 miles, 4835 miles, 5047 miles, 6860 miles and 8319 miles. Each time I brought it back to the Nissan dealer. They replaced camera assy-lane keep at 7487 miles and distance sensor at 8727 miles. I feel that I am at risk in that it happens at highway speeds (60-70) mph and suddenly cruise control and forward collision warning become disabled. This occurred on Oct. 24, 2023, Jan. 21, Feb 28, Feb 29, April 3 and June 2 of 2024 | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jun 2024 | SEAT BELTS | I received notice late April from Nissan about this recall. I promptly scheduled an appointment to bring my vehicle in for repair. I was told parts were back ordered and would arrive early June. I have contacted the dealership (Vision Nissan of Greece, NY) and Nissan HQ to inquire and was told parts were on back order. I asked when parts would be available and was given no time estimate. I have to drive my vehicle from New York State to Texas for a move (over 2,000 miles) starting June 25 and I have serious concerns for my and my family's safety in the vehicle due to the recall. I would appreciate any assistance possible in getting this resolved. Thank you. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jun 2024 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER | The contact owns a 2023 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that she noticed that in the spare trunk compartment, a tear gas device was installed and welded into the vehicle by the FBI. The owner placed foil over the device. Additionally, a device containing sarin gas was placed in the vehicle by an unknown source. The contact stated that she had experienced a nosebleed and dizziness due to the devices, and medical attention was provided. The contact stated that an outside source deflated the tires and was able to shut down and accelerate the vehicle using a chip in the key fob, causing her to crash into the sidewalk. A police report was filed. There was no reported fire or air bag deployment. The local dealer was contacted, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 10,000. | Crash: Yes Fire: No Injuries: 1 Medical attention | 10,000 |
| May 2024 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | I was parked safely in a parking space with no vehicles around me and the car was clean when my front collision alert went off again and the malfunction warning light came on. Distance sensor was replaced. My vehicle is less than 2 years old and I continue to have faulty sensor issues. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2024 | ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | While driving severe shuddering and knocking of the engine occurred rendering vehicle undriveable. Car was towed to Nissan dealership resulting in the entire engine and turbocharger needing to be replaced. Technician reported needing excessive force to move the crankshaft, high gasoline scent from oil, and metal/bearing in oil pan. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2024 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE | While I was driving out of state on [XXX], 2024, the engine light came on and stated "engine malfunction power reduced." Immediately the acceleration to the car was out. I was barely able to go 50 or 60 mph on the highway where everyone else was going 70 or 80 mph. Additionally the AWD light came on saying it was disabled as well. We were able to make it to safety, get a rental car, and then take my car to the nearest Nissan dealership in LaCrosse WI. I left my car there and waited to hear back about what was needed to repair the car. After talking to the service manager, Mike, he indicated he would talk to Nissan Corporate and let me know. Nissan Corporate advise the service team to clean the part in the car (the actuator?) and put it back in and that would fix it. This did not work because as I was driving back home to Mankato MN from LaCrosse WI, the same engine light came on while I was on the same highway going in 70 mph traffic. Again the car would barely go 50 to 60 mph, but we made it to a nearby gas station and called Nissan Roadside assistance. They towed my vehicle to the closest Nissan dealership in Rochester and it's been there since [XXX], 2024. Today's date is May 24, 2024. This dealership service shop has now replaced 3 parts (sensors?) and they were bringing my car back to me today Friday May 24, 2024. They were scheduled to arrive before 11:00am CST. At 11:42pm, I received a text from the service person I've been working with stating that: My car "had the issue again. We call Nissan and they told us to tow it back to our shop, as of right now stay in the rental but will be towed back today." I called the Rochester dealership around 2:00pm to see if they had any updates but they were still waiting for the car to get towed back and they had no other information. There were no other warning or error messages prior to this happening on [XXX], 2024. I've maintained regular maintenance on the car since purchasing the car from the dealer - Dec 2022 INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6) | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2024 | Other/I am not sure | I am a CPST Instructor and was performing a car seat check. The choices offered for the model of child safety seat did not include the seat I'm checking. Specifically, the seat is a Graco TrioGrow SL, Model 2087507, Manufactured 07/19/2023. My issue is with the possibility of a missing part. This seat model name has SL at the end. In my experience, this indicates that the seat has a lock-off; the manufacturer refers to it as a SnugLoc. When I was examining the CSS, I noted that there was an oblong cavity in the back of the CSS and a metal bar at the top of the cavity, behind the seat pad. This would be the location of the lock-off for a forward-facing installation. My question is, is this seat missing that part and the stickers that indicate it's use? The contact stated he corresponded with Graco and found that the lock-off is not missing. The lock off was for rear facing and the lock-off has to be lifted/rotated to the forward-facing position. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2024 | ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | I can smell fuel inside my vehicle after my vehicle idles for 15-20 minutes. No visible leak on the ground, but fumes permeate my vehicle and have caused headaches to begin with my vehicle occupants and myself. I have noticed after driving and I park inside my garage, I can smell fuel as well, but no visible leak anywhere. The smell lasts for a good while after being parked, but eventually goes away. I made an appointment for December 22nd, 2023 to have it looked at, showed up Riverside Auto Mall of Marquette, MI and was turned away because if the vehicle isn't replicating what I am experiencing, they could not do anything about it because they don't know why its happening. I was told by the service manager to contact her if anyone began experiencing headaches. We did experience headaches at a later date this happened, had an appointment scheduled for April 1, 2024, and was called the same morning of the appointment to have it cancelled due to their "Nissan Technician" not being able to work on it since he was out of town. I was told I would receive a call back to reschedule, and to this day, May 20, 2024, I have not received a call. I have not made another appointment because I have a feeling I will be given the run around again, but I continue to smell fuel intermittently while idling. Not sure what else to do at this point because it is a leased vehicle. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2024 | ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | Owned the car since 1/23. Within a few months car died on the interstate due to a hole in the fuel tank. Nissan repaired. Prior to that I took the car in because it always smells of gas. Especially when the car is running. You could smell inside and outside of cabin. People walking by noticed. Dealership couldn’t figure it out. Googled this myself and there are multiple complaints of the gas smell. On 5/2/24, I wasn’t able to start my car. Had it towed. Took Nissan one week to run diagnostics. On 5/9 they confirmed there was coolant in my oil and cylinders. Covered by warranty. They told me parts would be in this week but they wouldn’t be able to repair the car for another 2 to 3 weeks. Said they were down personnel. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2024 | SUSPENSION | Since purchase of the car. When driving on interstate speeds and when you hit bumps the ride seems to jolt a little seem like it’s going lose control. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2024 | SERVICE BRAKES | Electronic parking system warning light is ON on four separate dates(12/29/2023, 03/20/2024, 03/28/2024, 04/17/2024). I have video recording as evidence that the warning light is ON. It is a safety risk because it is suppose to be an emergency brake. Took it to the delearship to be inspected multiple times and as of right now, there has been NO resolution. Even the engineer still can’t find a solution to fix it. The manufacturer has been informed. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2024 | SEAT BELTS | Began a Dollar Rental Car rental on April 15th through April 25th. Around April 25th, I attempted to extend the rental. Error message on Dollar site said "... the location requires you to return the car to the renting location or to any corporately owned location on the agree to drop off date for technical inspection." Upon searching the vin - the car was under active recall, and the recall had not been remedied. I only found out because of the online web search on the NHTSA site. It appears the recall was issued Feb 28th, 2024, and then car was rented out prior to repairs. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |

| Apr 2024 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE | The vehicle had a no-start case. It wouldn't catch while turning over. It tried, it had sufficient battery and all operations were done properly like putting break pedal all the way down. Let car sit, opened the door, shut it and hit some other stuff and it started fine. Other people online seem to report similar cases where just leaving the vehicle makes it start. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2024 | POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE | Twice while driving my Rogue it has gone into a limp mode. First time car was towed to Ted Russell Nissan and they found no code for problem ,an update was installed. Second time I drove car to same dealership and again no code was found. The have now had my car for 8 days and can’t get car to duplicate problem. I have to take grandchildren to daycare and pick them up. Both times the problem occurred I had just dropped off 1 year old. My safety was impacted because of the amount of traffic in the hours of dropping off and picking them up. The only ones who have checked vehicle is the dealership. There were no warning or any indication it was going to happen. The first date was [XXX] and the second was [XXX]. Car is still in shop. | Apr 2024 | TIRES | On [XXX], I bought a 2023 Nissan Rogue Platinum from Car Max, East Haven, CT with 15,500 miles on it, original tires. We noticed the Dunlap GrandTrek PT20 235/55R19 101V treads were warn for only 15,500 miles. Took the car on [XXX] to Town Fair Tire, Milford, CT to measure treads and they agreed that they were too warn for 15,500 miles. Their report showed remaining tread life FL-1, FR-1, RL-1, RR-1 and suggested I had one month left. I then took it to Paul Miller Nissan, Black Rock, CT [XXX] where their report showed "May require future attention" LF 5, RF 5, LR 4, RR 4 and said I WILL need tires before winter. Contacted Good Year claim number [XXX] and had the tires inspected by Jordan of Modern Tires, Shelton, CT who contacted Good Year after inspection. He got a response of tires not covered, too bad for you from Good Year. I'm [XXX] now because how can a 1 year old car with 15,500 miles need new tires?
