May 2026 SERVICE BRAKES A braking issue occurred in my vehicle with sudden rapid acceleration when reversing. When depressing the brake, I reverse at a normal speed, then I experience a sudden jerk and surge in acceleration while reversing. I made contact with a pole before I was able to stop my vehicle by pressing firmly on the brake, in which it jerked to a stop. On the following morning a multi-point inspection was completed at my local dealership, and no issues were found besides replacement of the battery and brake fluid. When the incident occurred, the parking lot in which I was reversing was empty. The safety measures such as the rear beeping alert did sound when reversing too close to a pole in which they then blared once contact was made. I did not sustain significant damage to my vehicle though I do want NHTSA to be aware of the issue, in case a potential recall may need to be issued for Rogues or other Nissan models. May 2026 POWER TRAIN,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,ENGINE While driving my 2023 Nissan Rogue on Interstate xxx from [XXX] to [XXX] with my xxx daughter in the vehicle, the vehicle suddenly displayed multiple warnings including collision assist/sensor malfunction warnings, start/stop system failure warnings, and “check owner’s manual” messages. Immediately afterward, the vehicle experienced a sudden loss of power and refusal to accelerate. At the time of failure, I was traveling approximately 78 mph in the fast lane of the interstate. The vehicle rapidly lost speed and dropped into what appeared to be limp mode, eventually slowing into the upper 50 mph range despite pressing the accelerator. I had to fight across multiple lanes of freeway traffic while unable to maintain highway speed. This created an extremely dangerous situation due to surrounding high-speed traffic and limited safe shoulder access in a remote desert area. The vehicle became unsafe to continue driving and required a tow of over 70 miles to the nearest Nissan dealership. The tow expense alone exceeded $600. Prior to this incident, the vehicle had already experienced a separate unexplained no-power/no-start event. At that time, the battery, starter, and alternator reportedly tested normal. The vehicle remains within the manufacturer’s 5 year/60,000 mile powertrain warranty and currently has active recalls associated with the vehicle. A Nissan case has been opened and the vehicle is pending dealer diagnosis and inspection. After posting publicly about this incident in Nissan owner groups, I identified numerous other owners reporting nearly identical symptoms involving warning light cascades, sudden loss of acceleration, limp mode events, and highway safety concerns. This incident created a serious safety hazard involving sudden highway deceleration and loss of motive power during interstate travel. May 2026 ENGINE Component Affected: ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING Description of the Defect & Incident: My 2024 Nissan Rogue equipped with the 1.5L VC-Turbo engine is exhibiting severe progressive mechanical failure, matching the symptoms described in NHTSA Campaign Numbers 26V080000 (Engine Bearing Seizure) and 26V081000 (Throttle Body Gear Failure). The vehicle is currently experiencing excessive engine shaking, a violently rough idle, abnormal mechanical noise from the engine bay, and a dangerous drop in motive power/acceleration. History of the Issue & Dealer Denial: I originally identified and proactively reported an abnormal engine noise to an authorized Nissan dealership in May 2024. The service department issued a "could not duplicate" finding and turned me away. In June 2024, I provided a digital audio/video recording of the symptom at that time. Following the closure of the initial Nissan dealership, I transferred the care and servicing of my 2024 Nissan Rogue to Future Nissan of Roseville. I explicitly reported the recurring, abnormal, loud engine noise and excessive engine shaking with no remedy offered. Following the official February 2026 recall announcements, the symptoms have severely worsened, progressing to violent engine shaking. I returned to the dealership for the recall remedy. The dealership service department is actively denying recall coverage, claiming the current failure is an unrelated "secondary issue" rather than a consequence of the recalled components. Because Nissan's own NHTSA filings explicitly state that these defects are progressive and give advanced warning through "unusual noises or vibration/rough running" before complete engine failure, the dealership's refusal to honor the recall is a violation of federal safety standards. The alleged secondary damage is direct consequential damage from a primary safety defect that I documented within the initial warranty period. Nissan must take responsibility for this failure.

May 2026 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE I purchased a 2023 Nissan Rogue from Bella Nissan in Union City in September 2025. The dealership failed to disclose to me that there was an open recall on my vehicle. Several weeks later, the car shut down on me while I was driving back to work from lunch, which was extremely dangerous as well as frightening. I missed half a day’s pay because I could not return to work. I had to return the car to the dealership where they blew off my concerns and initially did not want to give me a loaner car but I was adamant that they assess my car, fix it and give me a loaner car in the process. A pattern would emerge where they would tell me the engine damage had been fixed, and I would return the loaner only to have to bring the car right back the same day or several days later due to the car engine shutting down, every time while I was driving the car. The last time I had to return the car, I was able to look at the paperwork that was written regarding my car and it said the reason for me bringing back the car was a check engine check light that was on. When I spoke to my service technician to tell him that the writeup was inaccurate, he ignored me. I spoke with the general manager, Muhammad, and requested the dealership put me in another car and he told me he was unable to do that.He promised me that the dealership would fix the engine open recall and then I would not have any more issues. That was not the case because I have returned to the dealership multiple times to get the engine recall fixed; today 5-27-26 being the most recent time. Today my car was making loud noises and there was smoke – none of this has ever happened before and I don’t want the car to catch fire. I was not able to upload my videos of the car shutting down. I shouldn’t have had so many issues with a newly purchased car. I have video but was unable to upload it. I simply ask that Bella Nissan take back this damaged vehicle and put me in another comparable vehicle, which was my initial request. Crash: No Fire: No Unknown

May 2026 VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,UNKNOWN OR OTHER,ENGINE World car Nissan states the issues with the vehicle are not recall related. They blame the defects on a faulty oil temp sensor and engine mount. When the incident occurred signaling for us to take it into the shop, the vehicle slowed down very suddenly and the engine force was limited by the system. Even waiting for the car to cool down, it did not start and work properly. Even a day after the incident, the accelerator was not working. Crash: No Fire: No Unknown

May 2026 UNKNOWN OR OTHER When accelerating, the car fails too move forward. I then place it in neutral while it is still rolling and pump the acceleratior. This then gets the car moving forward again. This has happened about once every 2 to 3 weeks. It is currently at the dealer service department and they have run the diagnostics on it but so far can't find anything wrong. This car is VERY dangerous to drive as is because it will eventually cause an accident. Crash: No Fire: No Unknown
May 2026 ENGINE On 5/9/2026 my 2023 Nissan Rogue overheated, lost all power and was inoperable. No alerts from dash or Nissan Connect app received. Had to be towed to the Nissan Lithia Springs Dealership and was told that a new engine is needed. My family was in the car and my children had to get out on the highway and walk until a bystander offered to assist. The dealership and Nissan Consumer Affairs is not answering any questions or providing any solutions. The service manger Carrissa is also avoiding all calls related to my vehicle. I see there is an active recall on this issue via the internet but not tied to my VIN number. Filed a case with Nissan Consumer Affairs no response

May 2026 ENGINE To Whom It May Concern, I am submitting a formal complaint regarding the handling of an unresolved safety recall involving my vehicle by Nissan, as well as the lack of communication, escalation support, and resolution provided by Nissan Customer Affairs. Despite multiple attempts to resolve an active safety recall, I have not received a follow-up call or any meaningful update regarding the status of the repair. The recall remains unresolved. I was previously informed that the issue may be related to the vehicle being “driven too much,” which I do not find to be an acceptable or relevant explanation in the context of a manufacturer-issued safety recall. Additionally, Nissan Customer Affairs has failed to provide adequate support. I requested escalation to a manager and/or a direct contact number to continue addressing the issue and was refused both. Calls are not returned, and there is no clear or functional escalation path provided. At present, Nissan is still in possession of my vehicle while I am in a loaner vehicle. However, I have not been given a clear timeline, status update, or resolution plan regarding the completion of the recall repair. This ongoing situation leaves me without transparency or assurance regarding the safety or status of my vehicle. Due to the unresolved recall, lack of communication, and inability to obtain proper escalation through internal channels, I am formally escalating this matter and submitting a complaint to the NHTSA for review. I respectfully request: Immediate clarification on the status of the recall repair A confirmed timeline for completion and return of my vehicle Proper escalation to a qualified manager or recall specialist Written documentation outlining next steps and resolution plan This matter involves a potential safety-related defect and requires prompt and appropriate attention.

May 2026 ENGINE I went into the dealorship for an oil change and was told that I had to replace the whole oil pan because it's plastic and breaks. I should not have to worry about replacing the whole oil pan every time I get an oil change or be stranded (since it leaves me no option but to remain at the location until they replace it). This is horrible nissan design and the manufacturer should replace with a metal pan and do a recall. This is very concerning especially in light of the engine recall due to overheating and other parts getting into and damanging the Nissan Rogue engine. Can Nissan guarentee that these plastic pans do not disintegrate over time causing microplastics to destroy my engine and causing my engine to potentially fail while I am driving on the expressway?

May 2026 ENGINE I am the owner of a Nissan Rogue subject to recall campaign R25D1, which addresses a manufacturing defect affecting engine bearings and/or engine components that may progressively fail over time, leading to engine damage and engine failure. I brought my vehicle to Headquarter Nissan in Columbus, GA (the same dealer that issued the recall notice) for diagnosis after experiencing engine problems. The dealer’s diagnostic findings document a complete engine failure consistent with the recall description, including: •EGR valve failure (valve could be opened to 70 degrees with no change in engine performance, when anything over 20 degrees should cause the engine to stall) •Engine overheating •Blown head gasket •Failed EGR cooler •Total coolant loss (vehicle arrived with no coolant; 2 gallons had to be added before fluid registered in the overflow) The dealer’s recommended repair is full replacement of the engine, turbo, catalytic converter, EGR valve, and EGR cooler, along with all gaskets and hardware. The estimate provided is $9,514.72. Despite the failure pattern matching the recall description (progressive component failure leading to engine damage), the dealer is denying recall coverage by attributing the root cause to the EGR cooler rather than the bearings or engine components named in the recall. This causation is also inconsistent with the diagnostic write-up itself, which describes the EGR valve as the initiating failure that led to overheating and subsequent damage to the head gasket and cooler. I am filing this complaint because the dealer’s denial appears to be a reframing of a recall-eligible failure to shift repair costs onto the consumer. I am requesting NHTSA review of how recall R25D1 is being applied at the dealer level and whether failures like mine are being inappropriately excluded.

May 2026 POWER TRAIN,ENGINE on 1/26/26 while driving my car started shaking. I felt unsafe driving and had the car towed to the dealership. They inspected the vehicle and could not notice the shaking but did perform recall service NTB25-05 as well as some additional items on the routine maintenance schedule. They said the recall was just an ECM software update and all should be well. 5 1/2 weeks later while driving out of town, the car suddenly felt like it lost the ability to "shift gears" and could barely make it up hills in an area that was all hills often times with no shoulder to pull off. The engine malfuction light reduce power was on. The Nissan dealer inspected and said admission valve readings were out of spec (second throttle body) and replaced. About an hour after this repair was complete and the car was driven out of the dealership, it again felt like was losing power, couldnt climb hills and service cvt power reduced light was on. (We just had cvt fluid flushed and replaced on 1/26.) Dealer removed and replaced cvt control valve assembly. The car is still rough idling and I am concerned that it will lose power with no notice again while driving putting me and others at risk. I am concerned that the throttle body and cvt issues are connected to the original ECM recall especially since other rogues manufactured in a similar time are having throttle body issues and the fact that the codes related to the CVT issue can potentially be caused by metal shavings debris or even the ECM directly affecting the TCM and damage to the transmission.

May 2026 ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING The contact owns a 2023 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle made an abnormal clicking sound. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where the contact was informed that the VIN was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V080000 (Engine and Engine Cooling), and the dealer agreed to replace the engine free of charge. After the vehicle was returned to the contact, the engine started shuddering while driving at various speeds. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, and the contact was informed that the engine mount was defective and needed to be repaired. The contact was provided an estimate for the repair. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and agreed to cover the cost of the part needed to repair the vehicle; however, the cost of labor was at the owner's expense. The contact was also informed that the vehicle needed to be serviced by an authorized Nissan dealer. A case number was provided. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 64,000.

Apr 2026 POWER TRAIN My vehicle originally underwent an engine replacement performed by the dealership under a manufacturer recall. The engine was replaced at no cost to me. However, only two days after receiving the vehicle back from the dealership, the transmission failed. The dealership has since stated that they cannot determine whether the transmission was already failing or whether damage may have occurred during the engine replacement process. Specifically, they indicated there is uncertainty surrounding whether work performed during the engine installation may have contributed to a wiring harness melting, which may have affected transmission operation. Despite acknowledging that fault cannot be determined, Nissan Corporate has offered to cover only 50% of the transmission replacement cost, leaving me responsible for $3,112. This partial payment offer was communicated through Walker Jones Nissan. I do not believe it is reasonable for me to bear half of this expense under the circumstances for the following reasons: • The transmission failure occurred only two days after a major recall repair performed by the dealership. • Prior to the engine replacement, the vehicle was operating without transmission failure. • The dealership has admitted uncertainty as to whether their repair work contributed to the issue. • I have been without my vehicle for approximately two months while this situation remains unresolved. • During this time, I have continued making loan payments and maintaining insurance coverage despite having no use of the vehicle. Given the timing of the failure immediately following recall service and the dealership’s inability to rule out repair-related causes, I respectfully believe full coverage of the transmission repair is warranted as a matter of fairness and customer responsibility.
