Date Component Summary Severity Mileage
Sep 2025 SEATS What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? While driving, the passenger seat side airbag deployed unexpectedly. I was moving slowly, just starting to cross an intersection after a traffic light turned green, when the airbag in the passenger seat “exploded” without warning. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The sudden loud noise startled me. This caused me to panic while in an active intersection. When I saw the seat airbag deploy, I became extremely concerned that my own seat could also explode, potentially causing injury to my back. The fear and distraction while driving put both my safety and that of surrounding drivers at risk. Were there any warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No. There were no warning lamps, messages, sounds, or any other symptoms before the airbag deployed. The failure occurred suddenly without any prior indication.

Sep 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM The contact leased a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving 25-30 MPH, the vehicle stalled. The vehicle failed to restart for approximately one hour. The contact stated that upon using the key to start the vehicle, the vehicle was able to start for approximately 10 seconds and shut off after pulling to the side of the road. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed, and determined that a fuse was incorrectly installed by the factory. The dealer performed the repair. The contact stated that after the repair, the hybrid system became inoperable. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle stalled while driving on another occasion. The vehicle was towed to the service center; however, the dealer informed the contact that the vehicle was not in the parking lot. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 13,200.

Sep 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,UNKNOWN OR OTHER I started with the 95B recall when car owners were instructed to not plug in their vehicles or park near any other structures for about 4 months until a fix was released. Then my car experienced multiple SERVICE HYBRID SYSYTEM errors. The car physically shut down on two separate occasions, both while I was transporting my child, putting us at extreme risk for an accident. It has been at the dealership since July 2025 with the mechanic receiving a DIGITAL CRASH CODE. His attempts to talk with someone at Jeep/Stelantis have gone unanswered. The vehicle is currently located at the Jeep dealership in Los Cabos, Baja California Sur, Mexico and is available for inspection upon request.

Sep 2025 POWER TRAIN,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM Backing into a parking space in reverse the vehicle all of a sudden begins to accelerate forward with the gear selector showing "R" illuminated almost causing me to hit 2 cars parked in front of me. After putting the vehicle in park and reverse again i was able to park and then the vehicle gave a "service hybrid system" warning and then stalled out. I had no issues prior to this and it seems the 95B recall had something to do with it as I had this performed a week prior. It has a stored code for " digital input crash " according to the dealer but they said it is deemed safe to drive. I don't think so.

Sep 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE This vehicle continues to have electrical issues which effects the drivability. For the current service visit, the vehicle was taken in due to “shut down” or “shudder off” as if the car had completely been downshifted and lost power while in full drive mode causing a driving interruption. This driving interruption causes a concern for safety. As of today, the vehicle has been in the service department for 56 days. Red wrench appears each time with "Service Hybrid System", check engine light. Discussions with service department: "No definitive fix" ..•B273C-00 Meaning: (one of the codes) The code specifically points to an issue with the digital crash input, meaning the vehicle's computer is detecting a "crash" event, even when one hasn't occurred. •4xe Specific: This code is frequently seen on Jeep 4xe models, likely due to the complexity of the hybrid system and its interaction with the ORC.

Sep 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM I was driving my Jeep grand Cherokee 2023 at night on the 580 freeway in Northern California. Was traveling about 65 MPH. When the vehicle lost all power. I was barely able to pull off to the right shoulder still was partially in the right most lane. After multiple attempts of Restart the vehicle, it did restart after about 10 minutes. I’ve taken the vehicle in to the nearest dealership on a flatbed truck. It has been there since the beginning of June. Jeep is unable to repair the vehicle sighting a software update needed for the hybrid system that they have not released yet. This problem will apply to any 4XE vehicle by Jeep. Vehicle is not safe to operate on public roads. Jeep does not seem interested in accelerating the fix. I’ve been waiting nearly 3 1/2 months.

Next day EV charge down to 85% lost 15%. Car sits 3 days down to 1% EV charge. Discharging for no reason. 3. Took to dealer, check for codes. No Fix available. Dealership, took car and put me into rental. I was told unsafe to drive and told may be 2 to 3 months before fix will be available. Currently dealership has 3 other cars taken off the road. One has been there since June. All recalls had been done!

Aug 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER In February I had the 95b recall completed and a short time afterwards started getting a service hybrid vehicle system light and even a check engine light at one point. One of those instances with the service hybrid vehicle system light my car just turned off while I was driving it with my children in the back seat and cars behind me. I lost all control of the steering and vehicles power except it switched to the accessory. I tried to restart but it would not. I had to come to a complete stop, place in park, turn off the accessory and then restart the vehicle. The vehicle was seen promptly following the incident where I was told to drive it on esave and they would try ordering a part that could possibly be a fix. While waiting for the part the vehicle was seen at another dealership that recommended not replacing that part that there was no issue with the vehicle and to drive it on e save or make sure the battery had a charge while driving in hybrid mode. Which is not a solution. Since then I have had several instances of the service hybrid vehicle system warning lights and that includes while driving it on e save which is gas only. Unfortunately the warning comes and goes quickly while driving so it’s not always easy to take a photo while driving although I do have a few to attach.

Aug 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM I took my 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4XE in last month (July) to have the hybrid battery recall fixed. Since then, i have had the ‘service hybrid electrical vehicle system vehicle system’ with the red wrench pop up at least 3 times but would disappear after 10-15 seconds. Last Thursday (Aug 21), I was on the highway driving 70mph passing a semi when the same message came onto the screen & my vehicle shut completely off. I was able to safely get off the roadway & I turned it & back on & it cleared out. I dropped it off at the dealership this past Monday (Aug 25) & was called today & told the tech can’t get the vehicle to do it so he is unable to pull a code so they’re releasing the vehicle back to me. This is terrifying.

Aug 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM Vehicle started displaying a red wrench icon with the Service Hybrid Electric Vehicle System warning on the dash and then brought up the turtle/limp mode and the vehicle would not function. This only started happening after the 95B recall fix was performed on the vehicle. The vehicle is now at the dealership and they have informed me that there will not be a fix to the issue until approx. November of this year. Service Tech scan codes indicate "Digital Crash".

Aug 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,HYBRID PROPULSION SYSTEM The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle hesitated. Additionally, while driving at slower speeds, the braking system independently engaged, and the vehicle came to a complete stop. The “Service Hybrid System” warning light illuminated. A dealer was contacted. The vehicle was taken to a dealer to be diagnosed; however, the diagnostic result was not provided. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and opened a case. The approximate failure mileage was 18,000.

Aug 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,ENGINE As I was driving in a parking lot, the service hybrid error popped up and then suddenly the vehicle was showing to press brake & hit start button. The vehicle began slowing down and even while pressing the gas the vehicle wouldn’t do anything. I was able to coast into an empty part of the parking lot. The vehicle then wouldn’t go into park. The emergency brake engaged without me doing anything. Then it kept telling me to press brake & hit start button but it wouldn’t do anything. The veg hole seemed to be on. But acted as if it was off. I sat disabled in the parking lot for 5-10 minutes before it would turn back on and let me resume normal activities.

Aug 2025 SUSPENSION The contact owned a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving at slow speeds in the driveway, there was an abnormal metallic sound coming from underneath the vehicle. After a visual inspection, the contact became aware that an unknown part had detached. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the rear coil spring. The contact was informed that the rear coil spring had detached. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V413000 (Suspension). The VIN was included; however, the vehicle was repaired by the dealer on December 6, 2023, 17 days before the failure occurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, a case was opened, and the contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 9,000.

Aug 2025 POWER TRAIN My 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee has a persistent, intermittent grinding or rumbling noise during moderate acceleration, most often under load such as going uphill. The noise has been documented over seven service visits and confirmed in writing by two separate Jeep dealerships, yet Jeep claims they cannot replicate it consistently. In 2024, my husband experienced violent jerking during upshifts at highway speeds, forcing him to restart the vehicle to restore normal operation. While that specific event has not repeated, the grinding/drivetrain issue continues, with no warning lights or diagnostic codes. The defect has persisted for more than a year, despite extensive service attempts, and raises serious safety concerns — particularly if the drivetrain locks up or loses power while driving. Jeep has not resolved the issue and is attempting to close my case without a fix. Case No. 93653073 is on file with Jeep/Stellantis Customer Care. Dates of service visits: Repair History 6/12/24 (1 day) – Rhythm Jeep – Unable to replicate 6/19–7/23/24 (35 days) – Rhythm Jeep – Replaced faulty resonator 8/1–8/2/24 (2 days) – Rhythm Jeep – Replaced exhaust assembly 9/21–10/2/24 (12 days) – Rhythm Jeep – PCM update, cam/crank relearn, STAR Case S2309000002; noise confirmed 10/30–11/11/24 (13 days) – Rhythm Jeep – Replaced motor mounts; vibration noted 11/27–12/17/24 (21 days) – Rhythm Jeep – TCM reprogrammed and quick learn 7/12–7/15/25 (4 days) – Freeland Jeep – Transmission tech assigned; grinding confirmed Total days out of service: 88. Aug 2025 SUSPENSION,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE In February 2025, my jeep would flash a “Service Hybrid System” code that would last about 3-5 seconds and disappear. This happened about 4-5 times over the next few months, code would not stay up and vehicle seemed unaffected. On June 10, I was driving with son on a highway about 60 mph when my car completely shut off, no power to engine, no power steering- absolutely nothing. We experienced a very aggressive jerk when this happened and I limped the vehicle off to the shoulder- we live in a remote area and I had no cell service. I was able to restart my car and drove it in “e-save” mode home. The next day, I drove my car again and had my son and daughter in the vehicle and the same exact thing happened. I was driving about 55mph around a corner with a large semi coming at me in the oncoming lane and my vehicle shut off and lost power and power steering. I was terrified that I would veer into that truck and there was not a shoulder readily available. We had to yet again limp the vehicle a few yards around the corner to pull off and I did not have service. So I had to walk to call my husband to pick my children up. The car has been at the dealership since then and told there is a digital crash code showing with no eta on a fix. Stellantis has denied a buyback yet my car has 26,000 miles on it and is under warranty with no eta on fix. Vehicle is unsafe to drive and unfixable for 60 days now.
