| Feb 2026 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | The heater on our 4 x e stopped working and would not defrost front window or heat the car in sub zero weather we have been having lately. I have had this car in 2 times already for the same issue. I fear for my wife's safety while driving this car as it can not defrost the front window due to heat not working. I have an apt on 2/16/2026 for a computer dump and fear another $370 bill for something that appears can not be fixed. I re-booted the computer as it recommended on the internet, but it only worked a small time. I have 3 Grand Cherokees and am very disappointed with this one as the other 2 have over 280,000 miles on them. Regretfully, [XXX] [XXX] . | Feb 2026 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | I own a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe that is currently subject to an active safety recall involving a fire hazard. I have been advised that the vehicle should not be parked in a residential garage due to risk of fire. At this time, no permanent repair or remedy has been made available. This significantly limits safe residential use of the vehicle. I previously notified the manufacturer, FCA US LLC, via certified mail requesting guidance or resolution regarding the unresolved recall and safety risk. FCA received the correspondence but did not respond. The vehicle remains under recall with no remedy available, and the manufacturer has been non-responsive. I am concerned about ongoing fire risk, lack of interim safety measures, and inability to safely use or store the vehicle as intended. I am requesting NHTSA review of the unresolved recall remedy and manufacturer response related to this safety issue. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Feb 2026 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | I am reporting a serious safety issue involving my 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee hybrid. The vehicle has experienced repeated stalling and loss of propulsion while driving, including in active traffic and in a school pickup line. The vehicle has unexpectedly failed to accelerate or start, creating dangerous situations for myself, my passengers, and surrounding vehicles. The vehicle has stalled in traffic and at low speeds without warning. On multiple occasions, it lost propulsion while driving, requiring me to stop unexpectedly. One incident occurred in a school pickup line, causing traffic disruption and creating a safety risk with children present. In addition, the vehicle is subject to a high-voltage battery safety recall due to fire risk. I have been advised that the vehicle is unsafe to park in a garage, and I am concerned about the risk of fire. At this time, there is no permanent repair available for the recall. Despite reporting these issues and seeking service, the safety defects remain unresolved. The combination of stalling, loss of propulsion, and fire risk makes the vehicle unsafe to operate and unsafe to park. I am requesting that NHTSA review this matter as a safety defect involving loss of power, stalling, and fire risk. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Feb 2026 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | The contact leased a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact received notifications of NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 25V766000 (Engine) and 25V741000 (Electrical System). The local dealer was contacted and completed the recall repair under NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V741000 (Electrical System); however, the second recall repair was still pending. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The contact had not experienced a failure. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2026 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | A vehicle safety recall was issued however, there is no solution readily available. After I was finally able to schedule an appointment to have the recall addressed I was told the HV battery needed to be replaced but there was no timeline to complete the repair. This delay is primarily due to a lack of parts and a larger than expected number of issues with this vehicle type. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2026 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | My 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle is subject to multiple NHTSA safety recalls involving loss of propulsion and vehicle fire risk. These defects have created ongoing safety hazards and extended loss of use. Safety Recall 73C (NHTSA 25V-576) addresses a Hybrid Control Processor software defect that may cause sudden and unexpected loss of drive power without warning, increasing the risk of a crash. Safety Recall 78C (NHTSA 25V-766) involves potential contamination of the 2.0L engine from the casting process, which may result in catastrophic engine failure, vehicle fire, and unrecoverable loss of drive power. For an extended period, no remedy was available. Safety Recall 68C (NHTSA 25V-741) involves a High Voltage Battery defect that may lead to a vehicle fire. FCA instructed owners not to recharge the vehicle and to park away from structures or other vehicles. I have been unable to safely charge the vehicle for over six months and have been restricted from using my assigned covered parking due to fire risk. Despite multiple dealership visits for recall-related service, the vehicle has not been fully restored to safe, normal operation. No loaner or substitute transportation has been provided during safety-related repairs. These conditions significantly impair the safety, use, and value of the vehicle and create ongoing risk to occupants and surrounding property. I am submitting this complaint to document the safety issues and extended lack of an effective remedy. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2026 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | The heat does not work in my Jeep on electric or hybrid and it’s a coolant system failure. The parts fail and Jeep hasn’t been able to fix the problem after two attempts in service. It is frigid and the temperatures have plummeted and there is no heat working in the vehicle. The check engine light has come on indicating that there is an issue and the dealer resets it, but heat not fixed. Yes, a warning light has come on indicating heat does not work in electric mode. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2026 | POWER TRAIN | Vehicle was charged to full overnight. Vehicle was warming up in the garage on the charger in EV mode for approx 20 minutes. Vehicle cabin was warm when unplugged and put in reverse. Vehicle struggled to get through minor snow until traction control was turned off even with being set to "snow" mode (excessive slip). Outside temperature was -1 at the time (well above cold weather operating temperature) when EV powertrain immediately ceased. The vehicle then went into a limp mode. After 20 minutes or so the gas engine functioned normally and the vehicle was on the road without any EV power (regenerative braking was restoring additional battery). Stopped at dealership on my way to work to have a DTC code analyzed from when this event occurred and it was TCM-P1D97-00 Incorrect Gear Ration: Clutch A or D Defective. The vehicle has exhibited transmission hiccups and been reported, so this appears to be a symptom of a consistent problem. At some point I recall the vehicle engaging the parking brake automatically, and the shifter demanded I put the vehicle into P to select my gear. It took a brief moment to understand what the car was doing, but I still have no idea WHY it did it. I followed the standard procedures of press brake while in park, push parking break lever/button until it disengages, but it put itself back into park a couple times before finally driving. I turned the vehicle off and on a couple times during this event as that is what Stellantis has said to do when the vehicle isn't fully operable. It was just a weird scenario of me doing the same steps to engage drive while the vehicle went back to parking brake mode until it finally stopped fighting me. The ensuing drive to work seemed normal. I did not hear or feel anything abnormal other than the complete lack of EV power. Thankfully the event occurred in my subdivision where no other cars were impacted by my vehicle's lack of mobility or determination to stop in its tracks. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2026 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | Traveling 66 miles an hour, using cruise control, car shutdown completely lost power. Went from 60 to 0 very fast. Stuck on the side of the expressway. early morning freeway. Little to know traffic. Was able to maneuver thru 3 lanes to make it to the shoulder before going 0. Message displayed to park vehicle, wait until vehicle can restart. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2026 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | Our Jeep has a nation wide battery recall (2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe) and we brought it in to be fixed. They said that it will take 6 weeks - months (they dont know) when the updated battery will be ready. They are saying we need to rent our own car as we wait, and we shouldn't take it home to drive because it's too unsafe and a liability. We have spent hours on the phone with Chrysler, Jeep, etc. to address this and they keep just bouncing us around or hanging up on us. In addition, we received a notice from Chrysler a few weeks ago that asked to ensure we had updated our deductibles and coverage specific to fire. It is clear that they are trying to cover their end of the liability of this massive safety recall that needs to be addressed. The dangers of driving our children in this car, along with the lack of trying to help resolve this issue is unacceptable and an example of corporate malfeasance. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2026 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | There were no warning or check engine lights prior to the incidents below. Car was just serviced Nov 3rd 2025 for safety recall 25v-472 and 25v-576. 1st incident Dec 21, 2025: Driving 70mph on major busy interstate in MA and all of a sudden vehicle lost ALL power. It shut off completely. No lights, No warning. Had to coast over to R shoulder and wait several min before power restored. This was Very scary as traffic was heavy. 2nd incident occurred Jan 19, 2026 and was terrifying: I was driving on a curvy mountain 2 lane road at night. This road does not have much lighting. There are no shoulders or pull over lanes due to guardrails. Out of nowhere with no warning. Vehicle lost ALL power (including steering and ALL lights). Could not get out of road as everything shut off and steering locked. I had NO Lights (both internal and external) I Finally got flashers to work after a minute or so but had to sit there dead in the middle of the road on a curve praying no cars came around curve. Was able to restart after about a minute and a half! Called dealership today and they said there is no recall for “loss of power” and we will be taking it in for a $200 diagnostics test. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2026 | SEAT BELTS | The right side back seat belt became jammed and tighten around child's body. With no release button or no way to untangle the seatbelt, the belt had to be cut to prevent further tightening around child's body and to prevent suffocation. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2026 | VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL | While merging onto RT684 I went to accelerate and the car was non-responsive to me pushing on the gas. The car continued to not respond to the accellerator and then the "Service 4wD" light came on the dashboard. This was a safety issue because I had no notice that there was an issue until after the issue took place, a car was very close behind me and almost hit me from behind while I had my 2yr old son and newborn in the back seat. This vehicle has had a number of safety related issues: did not respond to the break on 12/24/24, has been in the jeep dealership service center for over 115 days since my lease began May 2023. The most recent incident was on 12/20/2025 where it did not accellerate while merging onto the highway. The was in the shop from 12/20/25 - 12/30/25 upon return the car had very stiff steering and the car felt jumpy on 1/6/26 the "service 4wD" light went on again and has been in the shop from 1/6/26- until present. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2026 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE | Engine shut off while driving on the highway. I was able to pull over onto the emergency lane. Headlights went off (night driving) along with the heated seat and steering wheel, but the radio remained on. After stopping I notice the emergency park break was on. Once I shut the off the emergency brake I was able to resume driving. The dealership was not able to duplicate or find the problem. They hope the update for a current recall problem will fix it. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2026 | FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | For the second winter (2 out of 2) this vehicle has entered FORM mode - Fuel Oil Refresh - and fails to operate as a hybrid car until- if last year was the indicator - Spring and warmer weather. Ostensibly due to running in electric mode for too long, FORM is an engine and fuel safety measure. Since this vehicle was under recall 68C until earlier this week and had not been operable in electric mode at all since September, this excuse fails demonstrably. It has been in FORM since the recall was completed. Having a Jeep in winter that is not operable in electric mode in snow and ice when the potential exists that gas mode doesn't function and the 24 "reserve" miles are not available in electric mode, poses a significant risk. Secondarily, in last winter and this, hybrid use is unavailable for months. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2026 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact initially received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V741000 (Electrical System). After the parts became available, the contact took the vehicle to the dealer for the recall repair. Upon returning the vehicle, the contact discovered that the battery charge had been reduced to 80% after sitting idle from a full charge. The contact fully recharged the battery the following day; however, the battery was drained to 0% two days after sitting idle. The contact spoke to the dealer, who suggested that the contact leave the battery charger connected to the vehicle until ready to drive the vehicle. The contact stated that the dealer's suggestion could lead to future safety failures. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The failure mileage was 7,803. | Crash: No Fire: No | 7,803 |
| Jan 2026 | WHEELS | When turning the wheel it makes a clicking noise . | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2026 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | There has been a recall issued on the vehicles battery/electrical system for over three months and Jeep has yet to correct the issue. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
