Date Component Summary Severity Mileage
Oct 2025 SUSPENSION,WHEELS 2023 Hyundai Tuscon - Very Low Milage approx 6500 Miles - while in a parking lot, The rear passenger Carrier ARM which holds the Control arm fully cracked causing the Control arm to fall off. This product failure is unprecedented as it was a total part manufacture failure. NO impact or under carriage damage was found, even upon Dealer inspection. I as the driver of the vehicle confirm that No impact, accident occurred, and luckily I was not on a highway when it occurred. This was caused ONLY as a result of Product Failure. My concern is that this may occur on the other wheel(s) as a product failure is often NOT a one- product issue, but usually a batch failure. So I am concerned for my safety and the safety of others on the road with this vehicle and product part. Another concern - this vehicle was manufactured during the covid era, and I am concerned about product failures as parts were difficult to get and may have been sourced without proper testing during this time). Kindly advise me on your findings, and if there is an inspection that can be performed to assure me that the car is safe.

Oct 2025 UNKNOWN OR OTHER After using horn on rainy highway driving it stopped working completely. Called dealer with issue and scheduled appointment. After two day they said it is a know issue and horns will take 2-3 business days to order. Took 5. Getting horns replaced today but told by service tech that this is a known safety issue to Hyundai. Horns are a basic piece of equipment. Should be recalled and better designed.

Oct 2025 VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,ENGINE The contact owns a 2023 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 5 MPH in a parking lot and slowing down to park the vehicle, the vehicle independently accelerated. The contact depressed the brake pedal with force and stopped the vehicle, and was able to shift to park(P). The contact stated that the RPM revved up to 8,000 RPM, and the contact turned off the vehicle. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, and the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 19,241.

Sep 2025 VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM My 2023 Hyundai Tuscon has 36000 miles. Started running rough with a slight noise. First noticed on Wed [XXX]. On Thursday [XXX] I went to start my car and it stalled. Finally after letting it sit a few minutes it started but only to have the SGI light flash yellow and stay yellow for the remainder of the drive. That day I made an appt at my local Hyundai Dealership in Brandon Florida. They kept my car. Fast forward, Monday September 15th I was notified that the car had lost a significant amount of oil. Car was inspected and free of any leaks. Tech stated because of the low oil & oil pressure the battery life was significantly impacted. I would need an oil change & new battery. Upon arriving back I came across an article stating that excessive oil consumption is common among these vehicles and the dealer wasn't even going to notify me of this issue. They were not honest and I want to file a formal complaint knowing that this is well known issue. I feel unsafe driving my children around and am upset that a recall has not been issued to fix this. Sep 2025 POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE The contact owns a 2023 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated while driving approximately 45 MPH, the accelerator pedal was depressed while merging onto a highway, but the vehicle lost forward momentum. The contact stated that the message "Limited to 20 MPH" was displayed on the instrument cluster. The contact depressed the accelerator pedal, and the vehicle failed to respond as needed. The contact stated that the engine was not revving. The contact pulled off the highway and into a parking lot. The contact turned the vehicle off and on, and normal driving was resumed. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent and was occurring while accelerating. Additionally, the contact stated that upon starting the vehicle in the morning, the vehicle would jump forward while still in park (P). Additionally, the contact stated that the horn had stopped functioning after the last loss of forward momentum but had returned to normal function a few days later. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, however, the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 26,500.

Sep 2025 STEERING On [XXX], while driving a 2023 Hyundai TUCSON SEL, the steering wheel suddenly and completely detached from the steering column and ended up in the driver's lap. This sudden and absolute loss of steering control is a catastrophic failure of a primary safety system that placed the driver's life and potentially the lives of others in immediate and extreme peril. It was only due to sheer luck that the vehicle was brought to a stop without an accident or injury. Following the incident, due to fear and anxiety, the driver is now in treatment and has been unable to work. The vehicle was transported to Ron Marhofer Hyundai on the same day. The following day, the driver was met with a profound lack of respect and professionalism from the service advisor, Declan McCready. The driver and her mother were implicitly told they did not know what they were talking about and were treated with a profound lack of respect. The service advisor initially asserted there was no warranty coverage for the issue and that it would cost nearly $500.00 to fix. He also claimed his entire shop of mechanics looked at the car and found nothing was broken. However, the very next day, the dealership abruptly reversed their diagnosis and instructed the driver to get a rental car, stating they would now be fixing the vehicle under warranty. The repair order confirms the technician's findings: "verified concern steering column separated stopped bracket bent and separated replaced column housing operating normal". The vehicle had 14,479 miles at the time of the failure. There were no prior warnings or symptoms before the incident. Jul 2025 SERVICE BRAKES I leased a 2023 Hyundai Tucson AWD, and approximately four months after leasing, I began experiencing vibration and shaking when braking, especially at higher speeds and downhill. I brought the issue to a dealership, and while replacing the brake pads temporarily resolved the problem, I am concerned it will return, as many other Tucson owners have reported similar recurring issues even after rotor or pad replacement. This raises concerns about a potential underlying defect in the braking system that may not have been properly addressed. The issue poses a serious safety risk due to reduced control during braking, and I am documenting this in case it recurs. No warning lights appeared, but the problem was physically noticeable and confirmed by the service center. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. I have a video i can send as per request i am not able to attach.

Jun 2025 VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE For the second time in a year, I was pulling into a parking space and when I applied the brake, the car accelerated, seemed to be airborne and lurched forward. Though I firmly had my foot on the break, it would not stop until it hit a brick post about three feet away. This exact same scenario happened in July of last year. Then, I hit a stand of shrubs. Someone said, your foot must have slipped off the break and hit the accelerator. I said, “I don’t think so.” Yet, I took the blame for the accident, for I could not believe it was a car malfunction, nothing close to this had happened to me since I owned the car. Everything was the same in the last crash as in the first. This time, as soon as the car accelerated, I checked, and my foot was firmly on the break. There is definitely a malfunction in the car. The black.box Should be recovered and read by someone not associated with Hyundai. I checked on Hyundai Tucson Owners’ group on Facebook, and my incident has been reported by others.

Jun 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM my 2023 Hyundai Tucson has had the horn replaced twice. the technician indicated this is a common problem due to the location of the horn its susceptible to water damage rendering it useless. The horn is something rarely used and we were not aware it did not work until we tried to use it to alert a car entering our lane of traffic!

Jun 2025 WHEELS,UNKNOWN OR OTHER,SERVICE BRAKES I previously leased my vehicle from Rick Case Hyundai in April 2023, In November i started having issues with my vehicle as i moved to Colorado. My whole vehicle starts to uncontrollably shake going 25 mph and over. Since highway speed limit is 65 that is where i struggle the most with driving and that is the most endangering as well. I have to pump my breaks and hope they don't stop working. I have taken my car to get a diagnostic multiple times at different dealerships and each time i went to another dealership they advised a different problem I can send an email or mail with all attachments of diagnostic reports from Hyundai dealership. Each dealership advised one of these problems, engine, brakes, rotors, tires, etc, although the vehicle was a few months old! I reported lemon l to Hyundai Customer service with 2 different attempts and they denied my lemon law and advised i should pay for anything not under warranty. Although the vehicle has a manufacture defect i will be continuing to attempt different dealerships to help my cause since i am endangering myself and everyone around me. I have done enough research to know i am not the only person with this problem and this should be a recall defect. I need a solution so i can drive in the state i live in ,Colorado, and not be scared for my life that my car will stop working at some point.

Jun 2025 STRUCTURE While on the road, the sunroof just shattered completely. In this instance, nobody was hurt as the cover below the sunroof was open and that caught all the glass pieces. The car is hardly 2 year old and warranty covered the repairs. The complaint is that Hyundai never gave a clear answer as to why this happened and what can be done to prevent it. There is no consideration of the passengers getting hurt and startled by this incident. Also no consideration for the time it took for the repairs, the dealership never gave a loaner and we didn’t know we could rent it and Hyundai would reimburse. I feel Hyundai cannot just say sorry and move on as there has to be a reason for this and we pay extra for having a sunroof. I am not satisfied with Hyundai’s method of dealing with customers who suffered bear of their own manufacturing.

May 2025 FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM Driving on the highway when my car stopped accelerating when pressing down on the gas pedal. It was very risky to be driving on the highway without the ability to accelerate so we put our hazard lights on while we got out the highway ay the nearest exit and parked the car in a nearby parking lot. We were stranded about 100 miles away from home and had to have the car towed back home. Dealership confirmed that it was the fuel injector that was the issue and has been a known common issue for this type of vehicle.

Apr 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM Approximately 2-3 months ago, the horn had failed. This was reported to the dealer and covered under warranty. During the service the dealer advised that this issue was due to a faulty electrical contact and was a “known issue with the supplier of the horn”. Because of this, Hyundai extended the warranty period on the horn. Now, the horn had failed a second time and was discovered during a safety hazard in which I needed to alert another driver. This had the potential to cause serious injury but was avoided.

Apr 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER This week I noticed my low tone horn on my vehicle had stopped working It was replaced under warranty by Hyundai at 41000 miles Only a little while ago at 35000 miles both horns went out and I only learned this when I needed it to help avoid being hit and it wasn’t available Hyundai indicated they are aware of issue but are still replacing horns with the same original part that is prone to shorting out

Apr 2025 VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,ENGINE 2023 Hyundai Tucson with just over 14,000 miles failed to accelerate. After completing a right turn the vehicle seemed like it went into neutral. A green warning light appeared stating limit 20 mph. I now know this is “limp mode”. Turning the vehicle off and back on seemed to resolve the issue. The vehicle was towed to the dealer. They found nothing wrong. I was told to take a picture of the warning next time. I was fortunate to not have caused an accident. This is incredibly dangerous.

Mar 2025 FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM This is the SECOND time the vehicle has lost power and either had the engine die or stopped producing enough power to drive safely. The first time, the engine lost power to the put of not being able to maintain speed on a very busy highway during rush hour, forcing me to pull to the nearest side (left side of road) that had a narrow shoulder next to fastest vehicles. The most recent event (3/25/2025) took place in a parking lot. Engine was VERY rough at idle and when placed in reverse, it died. Could not restart for ~10 minutes, after which time the problem persisted. In both instances a tow truck had to take vehicle to dealership. In both cases the dealer indicated it was the fuel injectors causing the issues. No check engines lights or other dashboard light came on except for an indication to start the vehicle in Neutral. I used the companies app for the vehicle and no error codes came up. This issue resulted in no damage to persons or property, but could have if I wasn't next to shoulder in the first incident.

Feb 2025 AIR BAGS I was driving straight when a vehicle coming from the opposite direction made a left turn without yielding, crossing into my lane. As a result, my vehicle collided with the other car at full speed. However, the airbag in my steering wheel did not deploy upon impact, as it should have. My injuries have been significantly more severe than they would have been had the airbag functioned properly. I reported this issue to the vehicle manufacturer, and they opened a case and conducted an inspection. During their inspection, they found that the airbag had since deployed. However, my vehicle was transported off a steep hill and moved to multiple lots before the inspection, any of which could have triggered a delayed deployment. Despite this, the manufacturer has refused to accept liability. Because the airbag failed to deploy at the time of impact, there was no buffer between me and the steering wheel. This resulted in excessive force against my chest from the seatbelt and direct impact with the steering wheel, leading to more severe injuries. There were no warning lights on in the vehicle before the crash, nor were there any recalls related to this issue at the time of the incident.

Feb 2025 FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM I am on my 3rd fuel injector repair in less than 2 years. asked if they could replace them all and was told they can only replace what is broken. My car was purchased brand new and still under warranty . each time the car was towed to 3 different dealers, i have not received a loaner or a rental car voucher. I have been without my car for upwards of over a week. So what exactly is the warranty good for? I have a friend who has a 2106 acura ilx and to this day when it needs to be repaired, he gets a loaner and they pick the car up from his home. This is so disappointing to have purchased a 2023 car in Dec of 2022 with 13 miles on it and have had it in the shop 3 times as of Feb 2025

Dec 2024 SERVICE BRAKES My vehicle has been in for service 4 times for the front brake rotors warping. The dealer/manufacturer is not able to fix nor diagnose the root cause of the issue. They have replaced the rotors twice and turned/resurfaced the rotors twice - all in 26000 miles. The dealer has all but given up on the issue - and has referred me to Hyundai Customer Care (Corporate) where I have logged a case. In my discussions with the dealer service manager - he stated there are "half a dozen" other cars he is aware of with similar issues. In online Hyundai owners forums this is also a "known" issue that apparently Hyundai either chooses not to fix or cannot determine how to fix.

Nov 2024 FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM (1) [XXX] (14,568 mi): The vehicle had been running normally. My wife was about to switch lanes at an intersection when the vehicle started to shake and vibrate. The entire dashboard lit up and the vehicle quickly died. She tried restarting it and the engine wouldn’t turn over. Anytime there was an attempt to restart, there was a potent odor of gasoline. The car died in the middle of the road. It would sort of start but then it wouldn't move and would just shake and smell of gas. After many minutes of trying to start the vehicle, barely got power but was able to pull to side of road around other cars. Hyundai app reported codes: P030300 and P217800. Had car towed to local dealer. Picked the car up and next day spoke to the service manager who indicated there was a 20%-25% chance this would reoccur. He said there was nothing he could do as Hyundai would only cover the cost for the existing issue. The paperwork from the dealer shows it was a P0303 for cylinder 3 misfire and system too rich caused by leaking fuel injector for cylinder 3 (low pressure). [XXX] (14,702 mi) I was driving the car, in middle of an intersection and the vehicle started to vibrate and all lights on dash lit up (check engine, battery, etc.) and smell of gasoline. Car hesitated and wouldn't move. Died in intersection. Had to have 2 people help push me as I was dead in middle of road with people beeping and passing me. Got to side of road and couldn't get vehicle to start. No error codes on app this time, but all symptoms were exactly the same. Called for tow, different dealership due to location. Dealership indicated they would return it to us safe, but because of Hyundai policies, they can only work on the affected items. This is well documented by Hyundai owners of this problem and going by what the service manager of the first location told me, this is common to spread to other injectors. THIS IS UNSAFE! TWICE IN MIDDLE OF INTERSECTIONS! TWO MORE INJECTORS! SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET HURT! INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
