| Jul 2023 | ENGINE | Check engine warnings 2 times with less than 4300 miles on the car. First one, called a dealer and was told a recall due to wrong software loaded into the car. Back to the shop today for the same warning. Waiting for results. Since the first warning, maybe 20% of the time, very rough engine start when the gas motor engages. Dealer said was fine the first time. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jul 2023 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER,SERVICE BRAKES | My car's emergency brake failed to work and my car's rear slid downhill into a 90 degree angle. The front passenger bumper of my car hit the front driver bumper of the car parked behind me. This happened while I was parallel parking in front of my home, which is on right side of a street with an uphill incline. I turned my car's front wheels away from the curb, which is why my car's rear spun into a 90 degree angle. There is a small driveway between my car and the car behind me, which is why my car had the space to spin and slide into 90 degree angle in the middle of the street. I could have sworn my car was shifted to park, but it's possible that I was shifted to reverse or neutral. I almost 100% sure that I initiated my emergency parking break and that it failed to turn on. I had started to exit the driver side door and my legs were outside of the car already when I noticed the car to slide backwards. I panicked and I tried to get back into the car, but I couldn't. My legs were dragged across the street. I have some minor injuries such as bumps, cuts and bruises. My car stopped from sliding when it hit the car behind me. I could have been seriously injured. There should have been some "fail safe" to prevent me from exiting the car when it's possible it could start to move. I'm considering selling my car because of this issue. | Crash: No Fire: No Injuries: 1 | Unknown |
| Jul 2023 | LANE DEPARTURE | Blindspot indicators are blinking on and off and they do no longer make a noise when there is a car near your blind spot | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jul 2023 | VISIBILITY/WIPER | Driver's side mirror glass vibrates at highway speeds since purchase of the vehicle. Impedes visibility and could cause dizziness. Multiple complaints relating to this issue already submitted on NHTSA. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jul 2023 | STRUCTURE | The contact owns a 2023 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while attempting to close the liftgate with the key fob, the liftgate independently reopened. After attempting several times to close the liftgate with the key fob, the liftgate was manually closed by force. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the liftgate door need to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 4,275. | Crash: No Fire: No | 4,275 |
| Jul 2023 | POWER TRAIN,ENGINE | At approximately 9:30pm CST Saturday June 17th my 2023 Honda CRV Sport Touring has a rapid loss of power while travelling on the I-55 expressway in Illinois before the Weber Rd exit. Received critical engine failure error message and transmission failure error message. Final error was emission system error. Engine block was shaking severely - car could not move. Car towed to dealership where purchased, Valley Honda in Aurora IL. Has been with their service since then. They said piston was misfiring. They were talking about breaking down the engine but moved in a different engine. May need fuel injectors replaced - but shortage of those. Waiting for update, next step may be for me to meet with sales (hopefully for refund or buyback). Please contact me if you need additional information. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jul 2023 | VISIBILITY/WIPER | Driver’s side mirror vibrates when the car is going at highway speeds. The passenger side mirror is unaffected. The vibration makes the mirror difficult to use at higher speeds. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jul 2023 | STRUCTURE | The hood on my 2023 Honda CRV moves up and down when traveling over the speed of 60 mph. I called my Honda dealership several times and have been told each time not to bring it in because it would be a waste of my time, and this is normal on this model to have a vibrating hood, due to design and use of light weighted metals. They went on to say, there is nothing Honda will do for this. It reminds me of seeing a sewing machine needle move up and down. Not only is it distraction, but I am concerned that one day the hood might pop open while driving, therefore creating multiple hazards. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jun 2023 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | Vehicle began hard braking using the collision avoidance system when there were no other vehicles or obstacles on the road. Then the vehicle safety systems (adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, collision mitigation braking system and road departure mitigation system and brake system) all began displaying warning messages. The car only has 1600 miles. The dealer inspected and states that the safety systems are not functioning because the camera failed. A replacement part will not be available for six weeks and the dealer indicated the vehicle was safe to drive with the error messages, but that in an accident none of the safety features would function. The dealer is unable to provide a reason for the failure, but suggested it could be due to heat. The dealer indicated there was the same vehicle type that experienced the same failure a few days earlier. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jun 2023 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,LANE DEPARTURE | Within two hours of picking new CRV up, Auto Stop Idle Problem - see your Dealer" message popped up. Two weeks later, 12 error messages popped up on dash. Took vehicle in 5 times for repairs after error messages popped up after each repair. Front grill, battery sensor, battery and entire harness were replaced. I don't feel confident I can trust the safety of this vehicle. In addition, this vehicle does not have blind spot warning. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jun 2023 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | A new 2023 CRV Honda than in less than two months it’s sunroof shattered while I was driving in the freeway. It was a very scary and dangerous situation because it sounded like an explosion and several pieces of glass hit my face, my passenger and my little dog. No object hit the sunroof. I took my new vehicle to the Honda dealer to replace the glass. Honda denied my claim. It’s infuriating that Honda states that sunroofs are not part of the warranty because this glass comes from another manufacturer. I ended up paying for a defective glass and I feel that it might happen again and Honda is not doing anything to take care of this defective sunroof glass!! Very frustrated! | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jun 2023 | STRUCTURE | After 6 months and 12000 miles of ownership I’m starting to notice dents forming along the Left side and right side of the roof rail from the front to the back of the vehicle. This issue verified be a dealership as a manufacturing issue. I was quoted a price for repairs which would be added to my car fax. There might be an issue with frame or metal used for this vehicle | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jun 2023 | STRUCTURE | The Honda 2023 CRV Hybrid Sport experiences significant hood flexing / movement at high speeds, giving the indicator that the hood may suddenly open while driving (should the latch break). This happens ALWAYS at speeds of 60mph+ or during high wind circumstances and the movement gets far worse the higher in speed or the higher the wind conditions. The hood is confirmed closed each time before it starts and this happens with consistency. I have made an appointment to speak with the dealer about this on this upcoming Friday, but I have read online of many other individuals experiencing this issue and wanted to report it to ensure others are not impacted dangerously by this issue. No warning messages, symptoms, or lights appear. The issue has been confirmed. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2023 | STEERING | I bought a brand new 2023 CRV Hybrid Sport and am having issues with the steering. When at speeds greater than 20 mph , the steering becomes stiff and hard to maneuver. It makes it impossible to swerve out of the way of a dangerous life threatening situation in front of a driver Significant force and two hand driving is needed to steer left and right at higher speeds The vehicle is brand new, only 44 miles on it so far | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2023 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | The contact owns a 2023 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 30 MPH, several warning lights would flash on the instrument panel as the speedometer would fail to operate. The contact stated that the speedometer would read 0 MPH while the vehicle was in motion. The contact notified the dealer after the failure and had the vehicle towed to their location. The contact was informed that the soft set connection wires were loose and needed repair. The vehicle was repaired and the vehicle was returned to the contact; however, the failure returned a few days later upon start of the vehicle. The vehicle was then towed to Burns Honda(325 NJ-73, Marlton, NJ 08053) where a diagnostic determined a defect with the dash harness. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired and remained in the possession of the dealer. The failure mileage was 1,188. | Crash: No Fire: No | 1,188 |
| May 2023 | VISIBILITY | The contact owns a 2023 Honda CR-V. The contact stated while driving approximately 60 MPH, the driver's side mirror started to vibrate, making the rear-view image blurry. The contact stated that the passenger’s side mirror was not shaking and provided a steady image while driving. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a local dealer or independent mechanic to have the vehicle diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The contact researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V174000 (Visibility). The failure mileage was approximately 20. | Crash: No Fire: No | 20 |
| May 2023 | VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,SERVICE BRAKES | I was pulling up to the Subway sandwich shop to pick up my lunch. I was approaching from their back ally (coming from Walgreens next door) so I could not have been going faster than a few miles per hour. As I approached the parking space the car started speeding up so I turned right to keep from going through the building and drove in circles to keep from hitting the buildings. I could not go onto the street because traffic was heavy. I kept pumping the brakes and the car did not stop until I hit a parked car and pushed that car into another car. All airbags deployed. My 16 year old grandson and I were injured, but no individuals were in the parked cars. | Crash: Yes Fire: No Injuries: 2 Towed Medical attention | Unknown |
| Mar 2023 | VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL | I was pulling into a parking place and the had a sudden unintended acceleration. I was not applying pressure to the gas pedal and was easing into the parking spot. When I applied pressure to the brakes, they were extremely hard to push like they were locked up. The car jumped the concrete barrier, took out a pole fence and jumped a sidewalk the fence stopped it short of hitting thee building. | Crash: Yes Fire: No Towed | Unknown |
| Mar 2023 | SEATS | Seat back collapsed backwards on to the back seat after rear impact accident. Driver slid out under the fastened seatbelt and landed in center of backseat with both feet tangled in the seatbelt. | Crash: Yes Fire: No Injuries: 1 Towed Medical attention | Unknown |
| Mar 2023 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | The Automatic Emergency Braking abruptly stopped while traveling 50 mph without any obstructions in front of me almost causing a rear end collision from the car behind me. In addition the stop caused minor whiplash. | Crash: No Fire: No Injuries: 1 | Unknown |
| Mar 2023 | LANE DEPARTURE,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | On highway this Honda CR-V was hit by another vehicle 2013 doge at right rear side. Other car was sliding on the road , crossing the lanes and hitting the CR-V. Side airbags were deployed immediately during primary collision. CR-V didn’t stop after that. It turned left from right most lane and hit the median heavily. Lane keeping assistance, frontal collision system, automatic emergency braking did not work properly. It hit the median and all front airbags were deployed. Honda should improve the safety features when it was hit by other car in rear, Honda CR-V should not twist and turn left & make secondary collision. | Crash: Yes Fire: No Towed | Unknown |
| Mar 2023 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | On 2/11/23, after having my car less than a month and having fewer than 1000 miles on it, I got a critical warning light that told me to stop driving as soon as possible because my 12 volt battery wasn’t charging and my vehicle was not safe to drive. My car had to be towed to the dealership and the power control unit needs to be replaced. I had no clues that I was going to get this warning so it came as a total shock to me that my car was no longer drivable. Luckily I was in a location where I was able to stop driving very quickly and was not on the highway. I was told this part is like the alternator on a non-hybrid car, so like it’s brain. Had I been in a place where it wasn’t safe to pull over, my car could have stopped abruptly causing a major accident. The vehicle has been inspected at the dealership and a part has been ordered. The earliest it may arrive is 3/14/23. This means my car will be at the dealership for more than 30 days. I thought this would qualify my car as a lemon under the lemon law but the dealer is telling me this is not the case because they have ordered the part and it is back ordered. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Feb 2023 | BACK OVER PREVENTION | System does not alert until a vehicle is directly behind our vehicle or does not alert at all. Vehicle was purchased 3 days ago. The front assist does not work or will work after you pull too far forward and already tapped the curb. We stood in front of and side of vehicle and alarm did not sound at all. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Dec 2022 | SEATS | The back two bolts in the driver seat were never installed at the factory, thus the back of the seat is not attached to the car. The dealership did not notice on the PDI. I drive it for a month before I noticed it. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
