Oct 2023 ENGINE Engine stalls and shuts off at speeds between 50-60mph and requires you to shift to neutral or park to restart. No check engine light or any other sort of warning light is on after restarting the vehicle. Happened four times in a two mile stretch after having been driven to, and around town approximately 20 miles.

Oct 2023 VISIBILITY/WIPER HVAC problem when Defrosting windshield. When selected 100% Defrost. 85% airflow to feet and 15% to windshield. This does not clear the windshield creating a dangerous situation. I have even had the Defrost during heavy rain, it blows humid air onto my windshield fogging the windshield, then the a/c kicks in and dries the windshield and then the a/c shuts off and the windshield gets all fogged back up again. It keeps doing this in a cycle. I just picked up my truck from the dealer, they say it’s normal. It is NOT normal to not be able to see clearly out your windshield.

Oct 2023 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE While pulling out of a stop light, my 2022 Ram 1500 stalled, and the parking brake engaged while I was in the middle of the intersection. After getting the truck restarted and safely getting through the intersection, the battery indicator warning light came on and the voltage gage dropped dramatically. When I took the truck to the dealer I was told they could not replicate therefore it was in safe operating condition. My truck is one year old with only 7400 miles. Also the dealer disputes the active recall on my truck.

Oct 2023 ENGINE After stopping at a stop sign. Started to go through and my engine shut off . I had to release the emergency brake for some reason to get the engine started. It also happened 2 other times while turning left or right. If someone were close to me they wouldn’t have had the time to stop. It was a dangerous situation. Thank you

Oct 2023 ENGINE In September of this year (2023), while driving, the engine stalled. Information on the Driver Information Center said to put foot on brake and press "start" to start engine. Note that I was rolling along at about 30 mph in heavy bumper-to-bumper traffic in a middle lane of a multi-lane interstate during rush hour while towing a trailer at the time. I was completely blocked in by traffic, and there was no way to safely pull over to the shoulder. I tried lightly stepping on the brake and pressing start to see if it would restart while moving. This didn't work. I shifted to neutral and tried again. The engine still would not start. Eventually the truck slowed to a few miles per hour when the emergency brake came on, bringing the truck and trailer to an abrupt stop in the middle of heavy interstate traffic. Once stopped, I was able to shift to Park, step on the brake and press Start. The engine started. I was then able to shift to Drive, release the parking brake, and accelerate. After the restart, everything worked normally and I continued my trip from Chicago to North Carolina without incident. This is the second time this has happened. This exact same scenario also happened in the spring of this year (2023). I was not towing a trailer at that time.

YOU HAVE TO THEN PUT IN PARK DISENGAGE PARKING BRAKE RESTART AND HOPE YOU CAN GO, SOMETIMES TAKES 2 OR 3 TRIES. I SEE THIS COMPLAINT EVERYWHERE ON FORUMS. Sep 2023 UNKNOWN OR OTHER I purchased this vehicle on May 4, 2023. On 8/5/23, the vehicle did an over the air software upgrade to T25.48. After it did the upgrade a few of my safety features were erased/eliminated. The side cameras stop working. I brought the truck to Stewart Dodge Dealership in Colma Ca. on 8/7/23 so they can reflash the system. The mechanic said that my truck wouldn’t accept the reflash. It appears my system got corrupted from the software upgrade. After the reflash, my hands free text messages thru the radio stopped working. The mechanic told me that there is a TSB case # S238A000041 about a potential problem after doing this software upgrade. Since then, a Dodge Customer Service representative contacted me, Beth J. and told me that I have a Star case # now. My Star Case # is [XXXXXX] In my opinion, this software upgrade made my truck a safety hazard to me and the public. Stewart Dodge Dealership is saying I have to wait for any repairs since a software enhancement is expected in the 4th quarter 2023. They will not change the radio or throw parts at it. Sep 2023 FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM The fuel system issue at RAM has been known for months and still there is no "fix". I have been trying to trade my vehicle since summer (2023) and I am completely stuck because of the issue. Dealers will not take it because they cannot resell it. The value it at auction price which has devalued my vehicle from the ~$81K sticker price to now they say I can buy a new vehicle (same) for ~$69k. They have literally stuck me in the corner without having remedy. Are they even working on it? The OEM's seemingly reluctance to act, in // with accelerating the devaluation of my vehicle, feels like a class action lawsuit waiting to happen. Can NHTSA apply some pressure here on behalf of consumers everywhere? Also sorry but the email links in your website do not work so this was the only way I could find to get a message through. So sorry and thanks.

Sep 2023 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM I am having issues with the Uconnnect radio screen freezing and a loud buzzing coming from the speakers for 10-15 seconds until the radio reboots itself. This issue has occurred on vehicle start, putting vehicle into drive/reverse and while driving down the road. If in reverse the backup camera will also freeze. Both the rear camera freezing and loud buzzing can cause driver distraction. While backing up having the camera freeze is a big safety issue as children could be right behind you outside of rear view mirror view and when the freeze of the camera happens while backing up could cause driver to hit person/objects. Vehicle goes to shop soon to be diagnosed. No error messages are displayed while or after the screen freezes/reboots. I have video of this issue.

Sep 2023 FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM After coming to a full stop at a stop sign. I proceeded to hit the gas to enter the intersection. The vehicle left the stop sign fine but when I got into the middle of the intersection, the vehicle died. Had to be put in park and restarted. This is the 2nd time this has happened to me. Seems it possibly cause an accident if there was ever traffic coming from the opposite direction. Vehicle only has 10k miles on it and no check engine light is on.

Aug 2023 TIRES P275 / 65r 18 The passenger front tire had a side wall blow out that just about took me off the road. Luckily I regained control of my truck before getting in an accident. The service center closest to where I was located somehow patched the sidewalk which I don't think they are legally supposed to do. In addition, these tires have very little tread left after only 30,000 miles. I'm extremely disappointed with the fact that I have to buy new tires already and the fact that without any explanation from the service center about the possible cause of the sidewall blow out, they were reluctant to speculate.

Aug 2023 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER The back up camera is not working, there is only a blue screen when I put my truck in reverse. The error message says camera system unavailable. Took it to the dealership to get it fixed and they had it for a week and did not give me a loaner I had to pay for a rental car out of pocket I am severely irritated with my local Chrysler Jeep Dodge ram service center they are not catering to me as a customer and it's really ridiculous because we're talking about a safety issue if I can't use my backup camera to hook up my trailer for work.

Aug 2023 VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE Driving on wet road, braking system acting strange. Slowed down, dashboard lit up, tried to get off freeway and ended up spinning into wall. Drove home 30 miles on back roads, then slowed down at intersection, dashboard lit up again, parking brake engaged, vehicle locked up, dash kept flashing, could not start vehicle or put in neutral. Dealer states there were multiple failed brake system alerts and had to reset module. Had to tow. Filed a case with FCA in June, have not had a call from case worker, been without a vehicle for almost 3 months because FCA has stated this vehicle may not be safe to drive and that I should not start collision work yet.

Aug 2023 ENGINE Engine stopped while driving down a mountain road. Dash said put your foot on brake and push start button. Car emergency brake engaged. No check engine lights or codes. Truck has stopped again about a month later same thing. Took to dealer on July 19th 2023 they couldn’t have it happen while they drove it. No codes. Aug. 25 th 2023 while going through an automatic car wash the same thing happened again same messages still no codes.

Aug 2023 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE The system is supposed to alert then activate the brakes if a collision is going to occur. It is supposed to be a safety feature that’s adds an additional layer of safety to the vehicle which I paid more for. There seems to be no solution from Chrysler

Aug 2023 VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,SERVICE BRAKES,ENGINE While driving at a slow rate of speed, the engine turned off, the emergency brake engaged itself automatically, and the truck came to a sudden stop--very unexpectedly. There was a message that came on the screen telling me to put the truck in park to turn the vehicle on.

Aug 2023 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE The contact owns a 2022 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the Forward Collision Avoidance sensor failed to function as designed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was taken to a second dealer, Byers Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram (465 S Hamilton Rd, Columbus, OH 43213) and the dealer was unable to retrieve a fault code. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 5,000.

Aug 2023 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM The contact owns a 2022 Ram 1500. The contact stated that on two separate occasions while driving at various speeds, the vehicle lost motive power. The vehicle was steered into a parking lot, turned off, and restarted after several minutes. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer but was not yet diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 13,000.

Aug 2023 UNKNOWN OR OTHER,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM After a cold start, I drove 0.5 miles to an intersection. The engine stalled, the vehicle applied the electric parking brake, and would not move. The dash indicated a shift to park was required. The shift was completed and the vehicle was restarted, but in an unsafe state. The hybrid starter/generator was not charging the battery, and service was required. I have had this truck to the dealer several times for this safety problem but they can't duplicate or fix it. I believe it is the same as 23V-265, but they have not included 2022 models.
