After 3 months of no answer from corporate case closed and Chrysler not paying for repairs. I have checked with dealers In Illinois, Missouri, and Colorado. They all had multiple vehicles with same problem. After numerous attempts to contact anyone at dealership finnaly got a call from Mr Bettenhausen. Mr Bettenhausen stated he had same damage on his personal vehicle and door latches were faulty and ended conversation with me. Vehicle has not been inspected by anyone other then Bettenhausen Chrysler dodge. I feel if door latches are faulty it puts me and anyone else who is on roads as well.

Dec 2023 UNKNOWN OR OTHER The vehicle is equipped with an Auto Start/stop that turns the vehicle off when in the Drive position if the vehicle is sitting still for a period of time. This kicks on at every stoplight and every time the vehicle is sitting still with my foot on the break for longer than about 10 seconds. The vehicle will turn off but will not restart. It will try until the battery is drained to the point the low battery indicator comes on. In the instance that the vehicle does start it chugs along for 15-20 feet and then dies again. This has pushed me into the middle of intersections and then died. It has done it to me while making a left hand turn which puts me directly into oncoming traffic. It has done this while emergency vehicles are behind me and prevents me from getting out of the way. It has done it to me while merging onto the highway. I have had the vehicle in the shop 4 times in the last month and a half and even after the issue is “corrected” it malfunctions again. The Star Engineers from Chrysler have had the vehicle under diagnostics for over a month and still can’t pinpoint the problem. The dealership has informed me the issue is not fixable, and Ram has told me that they are not taking ownership of the problem and that I should be patient for it to be fixed. We will now be escalating this to a legal issue. I’d like it noted that I have multiple videos of the vehicle malfunctioning and how it locks the truck up.

Nov 2023 SUSPENSION On the morning of 10/31/2023 I was on my way to work. I had the cruise set at 75 MPH, and I heard what sounded like an explosion/ loud bang. The truck immediately veered off to the left, hit a drainage culvert, and went airborne. With the front tire folded in, no steering was available to use. Upon inspection, while at the tow yard, the lower control arm snapped in half, as well as the CV joint (half shaft), so this was obviously the cause of the loud explosion/ bang sound that I heard. This lower control arm is made of aluminum, not steel. I could have been killed if I would have hit the culvert more square, as the truck missed the steel barrier cable posts by only a few feet, which was evident upon re-visiting the accident site two days later... the truck narrowly avoided being impaled by the barrier posts. It us unknown weather the police or insurance company inspected the vehicle when the body shop performed the repair assessment. There was no warning, just a catastrophic failure of the lower control arm.

Nov 2023 STEERING,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE While driving on the freeway at speeds of approximately 65-70 mph, the vehicle unexpectedly locked the steering wheel, depriving the driver of the ability to maneuver or control the vehicle safely. It required significant effort for the driver to manually turn the wheel enough to guide the truck to the side of the freeway. This was an extremely dangerous situation, as we no longer had full control of the truck while at highway speeds. Had this occurred during a turn, the truck would have continued in a straight line, crossing into oncoming traffic. Concurrently, all lights on the dashboard began flashing while random error messages sequenced through the display, all without an apparent cause. After maneuvering the truck to the side of the road, we turned off the engine. However, all the lights on the dashboard continued flashing. I called to arrange for a tow truck just as a police officer arrived who provided us with assistance. We were able to restart the truck only after the battery was fully discharged, and we jump-started the truck with the officer's vehicle. Once operational again, the dashboard and screen displayed normally. After taking my truck to the local dealership for analysis, I was told that no cause for this potentially deadly malfunction could be found. I feel that the company has no interest in resolving the issue. In addition to this experience on the freeway, another issue which may be related is associated with the auto start-stop feature of the vehicle. Over the past year, the reliability of this function has deteriorated. Frequently, when the vehicle comes to a stop at a traffic light, it autonomously engages the park, activates the emergency brake, and proceeds to switch off the engine. To resume normal operation, the driver must manually disengage the emergency brake, restart the engine, and shift back into drive. The dashboard displays the message "Stop/Start Restart Required." I have videos of the dash after we pulled over if needed.

Nov 2023 ENGINE Vehicle engine stalls at stop and start condition. This has occurred several times without warning. When this happens the emergency brake comes on and the dash warning lights come on. The vehicle ignition must then be turned completely off and wait for ten seconds before restarting which clears the issue. The emergency brake must be released also. Taken to two different Dodge Ram dealers who could not diagnose and correct the issue. Both dealers reported that they could not see any error codes in the computer. This vehicle is not safe to drive, the stalling has occurred when taking off from a stop condition and stalling in an intersection. I am afraid to drive this vehicle. I have had this issue since almost new, 2022. It now has 55k miles. I paid $75K for this vehicle and am scared to drive it. I have contacted Ram Customer Service and they offer no support other than take the vehicle to another dealer. Please issue a recall, someone is going to get hurt with these vehicles.

Nov 2023 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE While coming to a stop less than a half mile from my house the engine died. I had remote started the engine before leaving for work, so the engine had run for a few minutes before leaving my house. I was able to start the truck and continue driving. A few miles later I got a battery warning so at my next stop, I shut the truck off and opened and closed the driver's door. The truck restarted and everything was running normal.

Nov 2023 ENGINE This Ram 1500 is a known problem all over the internet for randomly stalling. This truck stall for no reason. This is a safety issue and RAM refuses to recall the vehicle or buy it back. You could be driving 20mph or 65 mph and it could stall. Then the car need to be stopped and put in park in order to restart it. I refuse to subject me or my family to this safety hazard driving on the road

Nov 2023 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,SERVICE BRAKES,ENGINE Vehicle shut down while driving slowly after a stop sign. Occurred on first trip of the morning, cooler weather, at a slow speed within neighborhood. After stopping at a stop sign, and pressing the gas pedal, the vehicle shut down. I had to steer it (power steering off at this point) to the right and barely was out of the intersection. It went into park, emergency brake engaged itself. It took several minutes to get the vehicle operational again after following the on-dash instructions to disengage the emergency brake and start the vehicle. It started after 1 failed start attempt. The 2nd attempt is what allowed me to get the vehicle operational again. Whole situation might had been around 2 minutes. 2022 RAM Limited e-torque, 22,596 miles

Nov 2023 UNKNOWN OR OTHER Unknown to me what the issue is but here is my best assessment of the incidents that have occurred. While driving today, the vehicle suddenly stopped accelerating as if I had suddenly put the truck into park, but I was still on drive. The vehicle screen indicated to me that I had to press the brakes and press the push start to start the vehicle again, but I never turned the vehicle off on my own in the first place. I was stopped in the middle of the lane and had to put my hazards on to try and figure out what was happening. I switched the gear into park and pressed my brakes to press the push start to start the truck back up again and everything was fine. There was another incident with this vehicle that happened probably close to a year ago where I was driving on the freeway and suddenly the vehicle would no longer accelerate and started to slowly decrease in speed and thankfully, I was able to move over 3 lanes and stop the vehicle on the shoulder. I turned off the engine and push started the car again and everything was fine. Both times, I could have easily been hit by another vehicle. There were no warnings beforehand when either of these incidents happened and the truck has never been inspected for these issues.

Oct 2023 POWER TRAIN,ENGINE At random times the truck when coming to a stop under 10 mph will stall and shut itself off and engage the emergency brake. It shifts itself into park and to start again you have to push on brake, release emergency brake, press ignition switch and put car back into drive. This happens sometimes multiple times a day or once every couple days, whenever it happens we nearly get rear ended because it stops the truck so suddenly. The truck also has engaged the emergency brake at 60 mph, jolted the vehicle and we had to coast to the side of the road. At this time it did not stop the truck instantly and thank God no one was right behind us. We have taken it in twice already to get it fixed and we were told they couldn’t replicate the problem along with they updated the computer so we wouldn’t have any further problems yet we still are. This truck is going to get either us hurt or someone else hurt and it’s the only vehicle we have to use! I’ve seen several other complaints online and whole heartedly believe this truck is a lemon with a big safety concern of creating an accident due to the sudden stall and shutdown of the truck at random times.

Oct 2023 STEERING,WHEELS,UNKNOWN OR OTHER While driving down a straight road going approximately 20 mph my truck pulled me hard to the left and I was unable to control it. The assembly for my front left wheel completely came apart, and my truck was stranded in the middle of the road, without me being able to move it forward or backwards. The dealer stated that the ball joints to the upper and lower control arms both popped out at the same time. The dealer stated that they were unsure why this happened, and that there was no damage or wear to the ball joints. Upon doing my own research, I was able to find an online thread with many other consumers who had the same exact problem as me. Many people stated that it is an issue with the stock upper and lower control arms, and that because of how the truck sits, it puts the ball joints at their limits Increasing the chances of them popping out. Now, my truck is sitting at the dealership with no estimated time of repair due to them being unable to get any parts. My fear is that my safety would have been impacted if this happened at a higher rate of speed on a busier road, such as a highway. There were no warnings or indications that anything was wrong with my truck, and it was driving completely normal up until the incident. I also fear of this happening again since they are replacing the damage parts with stock parts, as well as me being unsure, if this will happen to the other side of my vehicle as well.
