Feb 2025 ENGINE While slowing down to a stop, my engine would stall. The truck would go from Drive to Park, engages the Emergency Brake, and stalls out. There is still power to the truck. This has happened 4 occasion already and I have brought it into the dealership. The have updated software, changed camshaft and now waiting on "alternator" component. This is a safety issue that I'm very concerned about. Doesn't look like they know the exact problem.

Feb 2025 POWER TRAIN Engine will stall and autoshift in to park and apply emergency parking brake. Happens when trying to accelerate away from a stop. Very dangerous when trying to pull out into traffic. No warning lights or messages on dash.

Feb 2025 ENGINE On two occasions the engine has stalled while trying to accelerate from a stop sign. Both instances were not complete stops and when I tried to accelerate, a warning chime sounded and the engine shut off. I shifted the vehicle into park and it applied the parking break. When restarted the battery light was on and the voltage going to the battery was low. About half of what it normally is. I shut off the vehicle and opened the driver door to "reset" the system and then started the truck. Once I did this there were no issues on my 25 minute drive to work. The engine was not completely up to operating temperature quite yet but was more than halfway there. On another occasion this winter I was stopped at a stop light at the engine shut off as it noramlly would with the E-torque system. When the light turned green I released the brake pedal and went to accelerate and the engine never restarted. I went through a similar procedure to get the truck started again although it did take longer than this morning.

Jan 2025 UNKNOWN OR OTHER I am writing to file a complaint regarding a serious safety issue with the backup camera system in my Ram 1500.Issue: Since [Date of Issue], the backup camera display on the 12.1-inch screen has been significantly reduced in size. It now occupies only half of the screen, with vehicle controls (climate, audio, etc.) occupying the lower portion. This unexpected change in functionality occurred without any prior notification or explanation. Safety Hazards: Reduced Rearward Visibility: The diminished camera display size severely compromises rearward visibility while backing up. This significantly increases the risk of collisions with pedestrians, cyclists, and other vehicles, particularly children and low-lying objects. Driver Distraction: The presence of vehicle controls within the camera view creates a significant distraction for the driver during a critical maneuver. This distraction further increases the risk of accidents. Obstructed View: The smaller camera view may obstruct crucial areas behind the vehicle, potentially obscuring children, pets, or other obstacles from the driver's view. Widespread Issue: Research on online forums, including the Ram Forum, indicates that this issue is not isolated and affects multiple Ram 1500 owners with the 12.1-inch display. This suggests a potential systemic software or hardware issue. Dealership Inability to Resolve: I have visited the dealership on [01/17/2025] to address this issue, but they have been unable to resolve it. Requested Action: I request that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) thoroughly investigate this serious safety issue. I urge NHTSA to determine whether this constitutes a safety defect in the Ram 1500 and, if necessary, initiate a recall to address this issue and ensure the safety of all Ram 1500 drivers.

Jan 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE **DANGEROUS STALL OUT ISSUE** RAM 1500. Typically 2-4 minutes into driving on random mornings after warming truck up for 5-10 minutes, I go to give it gas and the engine stalls out in the middle of an intersection, sometimes with oncoming traffic. No check engine light at all. Autobrake engages. Put it in park and restart. No issues the rest of the day…until the next morning. Has happened multiple times. Took it to ram/mopar service. They couldn’t find any issues. Replaced the eTorque alternator. Still having the same issue.

Jan 2025 POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL The truck repeatedly while turning a corner. Will stall and engage the barking brake. The engine will not always start up immediately following the stall. If the engine does start, you can disengage the parking brake and continue on. However, the battery light will come on as well as an engine light. If you do not pull over and completely shut the vehicle down. While, the battery light is on. Then eventually, what will happen Is it will drain the battery And the truck will just stall and not run at all. The vehicle has been in to the dealership. Multiple times they are unable to recreate the issue. I have brought the vehicle in muliple times. With out and With all of the lights on and we have proven that once you shut down the truck down and restart it, all codes will delete themselves from the memory. The scariest episode, where the truck stalled, was where I was turning left off a major highway and the vehicle stalled across 2 lanes of traffic and would not start. I know that this is an ongoing issue west. D type of engine that I have, and it happens to these truck years 2019-2022. If you call FCA Canada, they will say they're not aware. However, I've been dealing with this problem since I purchased the truck. The first stall happened two weeks after I bought it. There is also a section on the Dodge forum. For this exact issue and multiple complaints in the better business bureau for this issue.

Jan 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE ON 12/31/2024 I was turning right onto a street and my vehicle shut off. There was no power steering or power brakes. The battery light came on and some warning about battery saver emitted. The vehicle would not restart so I had it towed to Larson Dodge in Puyallup, WA. I have a gas, 5.7 L E-torgue engine. Also, the left turn blinker does not always cancel itself and the vehicle was in the shop previously for this, but they could not replicate the issue. Both issues are a safety issue. The dealership stated they were unable to resolve the matter so they contacted their engineers. Its alleged that they are sending some type of module which will not be here until 1/28/25.

Jan 2025 POWER TRAIN I was stopped at a red light and the auto start/stop shut off my engine normally. When the light changed to green, I took my foot off the brake and the engine would not re-start. The transmission shifted to Neutral and the electric parking brake engaged. I had to shift the transmission to Park, and press the start button to re-start the engine.

Jan 2025 STRUCTURE,UNKNOWN OR OTHER On Saturday December 29th, while driving on a smaller regional highway I heard noise which seemed to be coming from the truck. As I looked into the rear view mirror I watched in horror the tonneau cover take flight and slam into the roadway behind me. Thankful, the cars noted to my right were not directly behind me, as it would have certainly caused a serious accident. I did circle back to locate the remains of the tonneau cover and still have it in my possession for evaluation. I contacted the dealer inquiring if there had been any recalls or safety issues or concerns regarding the tonneau cover that came with the 2022 custom build RAM truck. In that email I also who I should be in contact with to discuss the replacement of the cover and repairs to my truck for the failure of the cover. In my email to the dealership, I attached photos of the cover, damage and the odometer for documentation. To date yet to hear back from the dealer by phone or email I emailed the general sales manager at the dealership on Janurary 8th.

Jan 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE Jun 13, 2024 2022 Rebel GT FIRST INCIDENT: while making a right hand turn from a stop light, the truck lost acceleration, rolled for a few feet and locked up into ebrake engagement and: >low voltage warning>red battery symbol>clicking lights>complete shut off!! Gave me the follwing messages in the display "key not in vehicle, place in park to start, low volatge." When i finally got it restarted it didnt give me full acceleration power. it limped down the road until i could safely pull off the road. Continued to show low voltage. I limped it home and conitued to have low volatge issues. i took it to the dealer next day and they was unable to recreate or resolve the issue. They reset the battery but It happened again... Well today while at 75MPH on the freeway, attempting to pass a semi my 2022 Rebel GT 24k miles lost acceleration and shut off, same as the times before. >low voltage warning>red battery symbol>clicking lights>complete shut off!! I was ready for the whole truck to lock up right there on the freeway becuase it usually engages the ebrake! After a few seconds it re started itself!! while at 75mph!!! then the transmission slips like its going to lock up-im assuming because of the e-brake engagement it usually does and the fact that i was going 75mph?!! It then engaged to "normal operation" with a 13.1 voltage, so I sped back up and I got my as* to the dealership that was fortunately only 2 miles down the road trying not to panic. My service lady came out and hooked it up for codes, what did she find?.... "nothing but B233C00 which is a random code" she said. Which means (as we all should be l familiar with by now) that they cannot do anything without data. I noticed that there has been an investigation opened and I wanted to add to the complaints

Dec 2024 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE The vehicle stalls while driving. I’ve had 6 occurrences all intermittent. The truck is in motion and at any speed. It happened in a roundabout, uphill at 45 mph, while doing a Detroit left, while coasting when approaching a stop light at 30 mph, while turning left into my neighborhood and on the highway with the cruise control on. When it happens I lose steering and power brakes. It terrifying. I’ve been to the dealer and they couldn’t replicate the issue. They are going to put a monitor on. I have read that it may be connected to a faulty electric motor in the drive system. It can happen at any speed in any conditions.

Dec 2024 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,SERVICE BRAKES,ENGINE I was driving my Ram up to a red light and was slowing down to come to a stop. Upon my attempt to slow down to the approaching redlight the vehicle abruptly jerked and stopped, the vehicle pretty much felt like it jumped into park on its own. The battery light came on, the brake light came on and the auto start symbol came on with this symbol (A!) The engine felt like it was going to stall, however, it didnt. Then engine was sort of racing and slowing down a few times. The truck would not move and did not stall. With my foot on the brake I could not shift the vehicle into any gear. I hit the stop start button with my foot on the brake and the vehicle would not shut off, it kind of raced the engine a little bit. I attempted hitting the start stop button a sechond time with my foot on the brake, all dashboard lights went off and the truck went into normal driving mode. I was able to continue home that evening and the lights have not been on since. I contacted my dealer and made an appointment for them to check on the vehicle, apt is on Jan 3rd. It was a little bit alarming when this happened and if someone was behind me it may have caused them to run into the back of my vehicle. This took place on December 22nd. I continued to research this problem online and found an article associated to this problem and several reports to NHTSA about this issue. The article indicated I should report this issue, which I am doing. I also immediatley received a notification on my RAM app which I will supply. Thank you

Dec 2024 POWER TRAIN,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,UNKNOWN OR OTHER I was making a left turn and the vehicle abruptly stopped blocking both lanes of an arterial highway. The emergency brake came on . The vehicle would not shift into neutral so I couldn’t move it off the road. The vehicle was towed in. Had this happened on the expressway or at higher speed both my family and I could have been badly hurt.

Dec 2024 FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE The contact owns a 2022 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, the contact became aware of a puddle of fuel on the ground underneath the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed with the fuel pump failure. The contact was informed that the fuel pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. In addition, the contact was informed that the previous dealer who had performed an unknown recall repair, in which the fuel pump was replaced, had stripped the screws attached to the fuel pump. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. The contact stated that the manufacturer confirmed that the recall repair was performed on 08/23/2024. The failure mileage was approximately 23,700.

Dec 2024 POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE Vehicle stopped at stop light when start/stop system activated. When acceleration attempted, turning right, vehicle stalled, activated the parking brake and displayed a battery warning. Restarted vehicle and showed a low voltage condition for the battery. Pulled over and turned off the truck and restarted which cleared the issue and voltage returned to normal. This is the third stall over 66k miles, the first with a new battery, which doesn’t seem to be the problem.

Dec 2024 POWER TRAIN,ENGINE the truck was at a stoplight and the auto start/stop system shuts off the engine to conserve fuel. The engine will not turn back on. the truck autoshift corrects the transmission to park. The shifter then can not be used. the truck has to be restarted. The restart can happen on the first try or the third. After the restart the engine is running rough and bucking and the acceleration is not consistent for a about 5 minutes. This problem has happened on at least 5 different occasions. the first in April 2022 with 4410 miles, 2nd March of 2023 with 22085, 3rd November 2023. After each of the first three incidents the truck was brought to the dealer and they were unable to replicate the problem. No error codes registered even thought a got a powertrain alert in the app that I pay for. The fourth time was sometime in the spring of 2024 and the last one was Dec 13th 2024. The truck has not been brought to the dealer after the last two problems. What is the sense when they can't find anything wrong.
