Aug 2023 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM I have a 2022 Nissan Pathfinder, If this model year runs out of gas or stalls in traffic with the engine inoperative the vehicle cannot be moved out of the lane of traffic. It has an electronic transmission therefore the vehicle has to stay in the lane of traffic until towed. All wheel vehicle would be very criticle. Three dealers have verbally confirmed there is no remedy at this time.

Aug 2023 UNKNOWN OR OTHER 2022 NISSAN PATHFINDER SL AWD UNDER WARRANTY. WIFE AND CHILD APPROACHED CAR, THE PROXIMITY UNLOCK DIDN'T WHEN TOUCHING THE DOOR HANDLE. WIFE PULLED OUT KEY FOB AND HIT UNLOCK BUTTON. THEN PLACED CHILD IN CAR SEAT BEHIND DRIVER. THE KEY FOB WAS INSIDE OF DIAPER BAG ON FLOOR BOARD DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF CHILD SEAT AND BEHIND DRIVER SEAT. WIFE NEVER INITIATED A DOOR LOCK NOR HEARD ANY AUDIBLE LOCK MECHANISM. SHE THEN CLOSED THE BACK DOOR AND WENT TO OPEN THE DRIVERS DOOR. THE DOOR WAS LOCKED AND POLICE AND EMS VIA 911 WERE CALLED TO FORCIBLY ENTER CAR SINCE IT WAS NEAR 100 DEGREES OUTSIDE. LATER THAT DAY THE LOCAL NISSAN DEALER SERVICE SAID THAT NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE AND SAID NOTHING COULD BE DONE. I TRIED MULTIPLE TIMES TO DUPLICATE THE DOOR LOCK WITH FOB INSIDE LAST NIGHT AND COULD NOT GET IT TO DUPLICATE WHAT HAPPENED YESTERDAY. MY NINE MONTH OLD SON WAS SEEN BY URGENT CARE AND EMS PERSONNEL BUT NOT POLICE REPORT WAS FILED SINCE THERE WAS NO ACCIDENT AND MY SON DID NOT REQUIRE IMMEDIATE EMERGENCY CARE, JUST CAUTIOUS HEAT IMPACT CARE AT LOCAL URGENT CARE CLINIC. UPON FURTHER RESEARCH APPEARS THIS ISSUE WITH NISSAN KEY DEFECTS GOES BACK MULTIPLE YEAR S AND VEHICLES AND HAD MULTIPLE NHTSA COMPLAINTS. Aug 2023 SERVICE BRAKES My name is [XXX] and I have been a Nissan Consumer for over 10 years, and this is the second time I have had major issues with my breaks. Unfortunately, I did not send an email when the 1st occurrence happened but, in my brand, new Rouge around 2017, my front and back breaks went completely out and had to be replaced at 6 months, but I continued to patronize your company. This occurrence I am sending an email regarding my 2022 Nissan Pathfinder I purchased from Passport Nissan, Marlowe Heights. I called the consumer customer service number on 8/12 and was provided case # [XXX}. Nissan Consumer line says, oh, there is nothing we can do because your vehicle is not under warranty and there has not been a recall! I brought my truck in for an oil change and tire rotation (which is part of the extended warranty when I purchased my truck) on July 11, 2003, and was not informed that my brakes needed any attention. The week of 8/7/2023 I noticed my brakes were really loud when I went in reverse so I looked up when should a car/truck need new brakes seeing as though I have only had this vehicle for just a year in July. It should brake should not be needed for at least 30-60,000 miles, here I am at 12, 483 miles. I called the dealership and was informed this is likely wear and tear and that I would be responsible for the cost of new breaks if needed. I am baffled because the point of me leasing a new vehicle is an attempt to avoid major costs such as brake and engine concerns before my 3-year lease is up. Yes, I leased 3 years prior to this lease a year ago! I make an appointment and take my truck to Nissan of Marlow Heights and informed the worker of my concern and he immediately tells me, oh, it’s just a noise your bakes make early in the morning, my Toyota does the same thing in the mornings. Aug 2023 UNKNOWN OR OTHER I purchased this car with 6miles on the odometer. Shortly after my purchase, the sunroof started making noises. I have been in contact with my local dealership (not the one I got it from) with making sure that when the regular service has been completed to check the sunroof. They “say” that they make sure that the drain is completely good. I have allowed them to “fix” the problem with the noise but nothing changed. Tonight my roof was leaking water from everywhere. I want something done about this! There has to be a way to fix it. Please advise.

Jul 2023 SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC The contact owns a 2022 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated while depressing the brake pedal, the brakes failed to respond as needed, causing the braking distance to be extended. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer and was informed that the rear brake pads had failed and needed to be replaced. The contact learned that the rear brake pads was worn from 8mm to 3mm within 3,400; while the front brake pads only showed wear from 7mm to 6mm. The contact was concerned about the excessive wear on the rear brake pads. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 11,000.

Jul 2023 SEATS I own a 2022 Nissan Pathfinder. The front passenger seat is far too low. I am 6' it's feels extremely low and I feel I can hit my head on the dash. However, for people at or under 5'2", it is downright dangerous, resulting in striking heads on the dashboard. the NHTSA needs to look into this poorly designed front passenger seat issue before people get hurt. The current controls do not adjust the seat to go up on the front passenger except for the front driver side. Nissan has not done this except for the 2023 models have the front passenger seat adjust. This is a safety issue that needs to be investigated and corrected immediately.

Jul 2023 UNKNOWN OR OTHER Hearing a gurgle or sloshing noise coming from front right passenger windshield drain hose areas. The condition presents itself after a rain soak/car wash and or when it is raining, and when driving approximately 50-70 mph. The dealer has not been able to locate the issue and say all drain lines are not clogged and I explained to them that the drain lines/hoses need to be extended because it sounds like air is getting in the drain hose end while water is coming out and it starts to make a gurgling/sloshing noise.

Jun 2023 POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,SERVICE BRAKES Electrical: Stereo display and infotainment system often freezes, lags, or has performance issues that cause delays in Camera system from functioning, radio functionality, and connected audio sources from functioning. Has already been replaced, and replacement now has severe backlighting issues, sound quality is reduced. Transmission: transmission often jerks or “clunks” when shifting. Issue occurs when at a complete stop to Drive, or Park to Reverse. Severe delay when shifting. Transmission “reprogram” and “patch/update” was performed but only provided slight improvement. Brakes: Upon warming up, brakes sound like grinding, wobble, and sounds like metal against metal. Car has been in repair numerous times since purchase without proper repair.

Issue is not "covered" under manufacture warranty due to the items being classified as a wear and tear item per manufacturer even though it’s a defect.

Apr 2023 SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC The contact owns a 2022 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated while driving at various speeds and depressing the brake pedal, the brake rotors shuddered violently and the vehicle hesitated to respond, causing a 50 ft. stopping distance delay. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who informed the contact that the rotors were corroded; however, the mechanic could not duplicate the failure. The failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where the same information was provided. The contact stated while driving 55-60 MPH and depressing the brake pedal, the failure reoccurred, and the vehicle nearly crashed into a vehicle that was at a 2ft. distance. The driver assist mode engaged and the steering wheel started shuddering. The contact was able to prevent the vehicle from crashing and continuously applied tremendous pressure to the brake pedal until the vehicle stopped. There was a 100ft. stopping distance delay. The contact was able to continue driving. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the brake rotors were extremely worn, and the brake pads and rotors needed to be replaced; however, the parts were on a national backorder. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was filed. The manufacturer later informed the contact that no assistance would be provided. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 4,400.

Mar 2023 POWER TRAIN The contact owns a 2022 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated while driving 75 MPH, the vehicle inadvertently decelerated to 30 MPH. Additionally, the transmission intermittently failed to shift to reverse and inadvertently to park(P) while driving at slow speeds. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The dealer replaced the brakes and the front and rear bumper sensors; however, the failure recurred. Feb 2023 UNKNOWN OR OTHER I was stopped at an intersection red light. One vehicle was in front of me. I had the Auto Hold activated. After stopping, I removed my foot from the brake pedal. The light was still red when my vehicle suddenly lunged forward (I did NOT put my foot on the gas pedal) and hit the vehicle in front of me. Fortunately, it was a truck with a hitch on the rear. There was no damage to the other vehicle, but the hitch went into the lower grill of my vehicle, causing damage to the grill and to the sensor located behind the grill. I reported the incident to Nissan and they sent a rep to run diagnostic tests on my vehicle. I requested a copy of the report and am NOT at all satisfied with what I received or was told. The person that I have been in touch with about this has not been willing to proceed with any further explanation of the report. Her name is [XXX] and the case is #[XXX]. I am concerned that this incident is a safety hazard. Please let me know what step(s) I can proceed with now. Thank you. Jan 2023 SEATS The drivers and passenger seats in front are extremely low and can barely see over dash. Drivers side is at its highest with controls. Passenger seat does not adjust. Seems that it is a safety issue if in accident. Head would hit dash. These seats should be raised up.

Nov 2022 SUSPENSION,WHEELS I was driving down a newly built road at 48 mph and all of a sudden it sounded like something was coming apart at the front right end of my vehicle. Everything sloped that way and then I was jerked to the right straight into a curb and then I hear a big boom. My psi went to 0 in my right front tire and I tried to steer left but I couldn't. My back end went into the air about 2-3 feet. I finally came to a stop on the side of the road about .3 miles from where the issue started. I was lucky I did not veer into traffic because I could not control my vehicle. After gathering myself and calling the police I got out of my vehicle to find that my front right wheel assembly fell apart. The officer and I searched thoroughly to find that I did not hit anything. The bolt was missing from one of my control arms. My wheel was turned sideways going east and west instead of North and South. I had the vehicle towed to a Nissan dealer and it has been a nightmare. The tech that is not certified or does not have the devices to make the call if it was a technical failure says that he has been told by the regional corp rep to let him no if he can locate a part that seems to be the issue. The dealer tech couldn't see anything so the regional corp tech will not come and take a look at my vehicle. My insurance has deemed it a mechanical failure and they are waiting for the results of Nissans diagnostic test which is not happening because the regional rep won't come and take a look at the car. There is no body damage except for where the front right wheel was pushed into the front right quarter panel.

Oct 2022 LANE DEPARTURE Using Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC), and when entering a highway curve, the lane keeping assistance did not kick in. Car began to swerve out of lane. My hands were on the steering wheel and I was able to maintain control of the vehicle, but had there been cars or trucks in either right or left lanes (I was in the middle lane), there could have been a major accident and/or loss of life.
