| Jul 2025 | VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,SERVICE BRAKES,ENGINE | Since purchasing this vehicle new i have had several issues : - While driving on the highway the engine will switch into neutral -One time while pulling out of my drive way I got stuck in the middle of the road because it placed me in park for no known reason. - Sunroof Leaks, - Most recently at 93,000 miles my engine failed and I needed a full engine replacement. They didnt cover this replacement and left it in me to pay for the full replacement. (over $10K) - The Breaks needed to be fully replaced before $20,000. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jun 2025 | SERVICE BRAKES | Front brake calipers get hot and started smoking. During simple highway travel No hard bracing and cruise control set. I’m not sure if the issue is with the two front calipers themselves or with the master cylinder or some other components that would cause both front brake calipers do this at the same time! | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jun 2025 | STRUCTURE | My vehicle has experienced recurring water intrusion due to a clogged sunroof drain, causing significant moisture buildup, mold growth, and persistent odors inside the cabin. I purchased the vehicle in February 2024 and brought it in for this issue three times during the warranty period a few months later, where fixes were proposed each time. The fourth visit, five months past the warranty period in May 2025, still revolves around the same poor sunroof drainage system, which the dealership claims works fine, and they will perform repairs but refuse to cover them under warranty, offering only to clear the drain lines without a more in-depth repair or remediation for the mold and odor. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2025 | SERVICE BRAKES | The rear brake pads as well as the rear brake caliber on these model vehicles and brakes keeps going bad extremely fast. This car is only 2 1/2 years old and I’ve already had to spend $1100 on parts for brake calibers. It is a known fact that the manufacturer Does not have the parts in stock. They are back order for 2 to 3 weeks. This is extreme safety issue and can prevent for cars from operating and stopping safely it’s smoothly I’ve had to replace my rear brake pad four times within a year. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2025 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER,ENGINE | The engine would shift out of drive into neutral while driving on the road. It one time shifted into park while pulling out of my driveway and left me stuck in the middle of the road for several seconds before it would allow me to shift back to drive. This has been continuous throughout. I reported to Nissan with no action from them. Sunroof leaks At 93,000 miles and regular maintenance (at home) the engine seized and they are saying sludge. I know it has been maintained so there has to be a separate cause. We had routine maintenance, the report from Nissan all along provided no engine issues or no oil pressure issues. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2025 | STRUCTURE,SERVICE BRAKES,BACK OVER PREVENTION | brake pads wearing prematurely, too many rattle noises in side cabin, moonroof water leak, hit and miss rear cross traffic alert, frequent infotainment system reboots, transmission shift to nutral while try to speed up. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2025 | VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL | Gas Pedal broke completely off while accelerating to merge. Took it to the dealership and they ordered a new gas pedal and made the repair. There was no prior warning of anything wrong. This could have caused us to have a wreck when we were accelerating to merge and all of the sudden the gas pedal just busted off and the car dramatically slows down. Definitely a safety issue. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Mar 2025 | POWER TRAIN | Transmission started slipping when I was getting on the Interstate. It was revving very loud but car would not move. I almost got hit from behind. This car is not even 3 years old. I am very concerned for my safety. I should still be in warranty for this issue. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Mar 2025 | ENGINE | vehicle shut down mid intersection turn. Had to be towed away to the dealership. 5 days later after having "issues" with diagnosing they said it has oil sludge and the engine seized due to this. The vehicle has been maintained and has less than 100,000 miles. I find this very concerning and believe there is an issue with the quality of the engine | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Mar 2025 | SERVICE BRAKES | At 42,000 my rear breaks failed. Needing to replace all components of my rear breaks. Now there is a national back order on parts which shouldn’t be a problem for this new of a vehicle. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2025 | SEAT BELTS | The contact owns a 2022 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated that the seat belt alert system failed to operate as needed. The contact stated that even though all the occupants in the vehicle were wearing their seat belts, the system indicated that the seat belts were not in use, causing an audible warning chime to sound throughout the driving trip. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where it was purchased; Dimmitt Chevrolet (25485 US Hwy 19 N, Clearwater, FL 33763), and the contact was informed that the repair would not be covered under the warranty purchased by the contact through the dealer and was provided an estimate for the repair. The vehicle was then taken to another dealer; Crown Nissan (5151 34th St N, St. Petersburg, FL 33714); where a diagnostic test was performed on the vehicle, and it was believed that the failure might have started after removing the third-row seat. The vehicle remained in the possession of the dealer unrepaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 32,400. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2025 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,STRUCTURE,UNKNOWN OR OTHER | Sunroof leak- causing issues throughout the car. Mold which is very serious and dangerous. This HAS to be addressed. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2025 | POWER TRAIN | I was driving and all of a sudden my car flipped into neutral mid drive. I couldn’t put it in park. I couldn’t put it in drive and I couldn’t put it in reverse. I had to sit on the road with my foot on the pedal until someone could tow it. My kids and were stuck in the dark on dangerous corner of a windy road. This is a serious safety deficit. We are still covered under warranty. We got it home and turned it off. Then we turned the car back on and we were able to put it in gear and park it, but the check engine light stayed on. The next day when I turned it on to take it to the dealership, the check engine light was off. The technician took it for a test drive and it did the same thing to him. The technician can’t figure out what is wrong or why it’s doing what it is doing, but that it is unsafe to drive. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Dec 2024 | SEATS | The front passenger seat in my 2022 Nissan Pathfinder is too low making the seat uncomfortable to sit in. Nissan told me to call the safety board to start a recall. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Nov 2024 | STRUCTURE,SEATS | Heated seats appear to be on, but do not heat up. The door lock sensors on the exterior door handles do not work consistently. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Nov 2024 | VISIBILITY/WIPER | My sunroof exploded going down the road, no object hit it. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Nov 2024 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | On Sunday September 8 2024 at 3:01 pm while driving my car down the road my car suddenly started flashing the Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection system warning light. The warning started flashing then the engine shut down. The engine shut down for about five minutes then I was able to start it again. But My check engine light was on. My Nissan Connect sent me a message via email that my "PATHFINDER's engine may have an emission control system malfunction." I moved the car from the middle of the street to a parking lot and initially called for a tow truck. However, after sitting in the car for about 40 minutes waiting for a tow truck I started the vehicle again and it started and the check engine light was off. I subsequently took my vehicle to two Nissan dealerships and they could not find an issue or a resolution to the problem. Today, November 17 2023, at 4:23pm I was on my way home driving west and my car began to flash the same indications that I received during the initial incident. The common thread between both incidences was that I was driving west during dusk and the sun was shining brightly in my direction. I believe that the brightness of the sun is causing the AEB system to malfunction and can cause the vehicle to shut down while driving. This is definitely a hazard if driving. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2024 | WHEELS,SERVICE BRAKES | The rear breaks wore off really fast at around 10,000 miles as well as all the tires. It was inspected and the mechanic said that it’s normal for the breaks in these cars to wear off quickly. I never recieved any warning lamps about the breaks needing to be changed. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2024 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER,SERVICE BRAKES,ENGINE | My car jerks violently into first gear often. Slow acceleration. Exclamation mark inside a triangle warning light came on and my car wouldn't accelerate over tha 2 miles per hrs. When in park or at a stop light it idles roughly. Rear brakes have been prematurely expired. I have since replaced them | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2024 | SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | the car is burning through brakes first brakes was repaired under warranty from nissan at 15k miles now the car needed | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2024 | POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE | My 2022 Pathfinder had 34,725 miles on it when I left for the grocery store, on the way while driving on the highway I got an alert on my dash saying "check shift level position", which that seemed normal & fine, and vehicle was still driving normally at this point. That alert then went away as I was driving a moment or two later ( however I did get a photo of it). A very few moments later, I was driving along and the vehicle suddenly shifted into N(eutral)! I pulled over, shifted into park, turned off the car, restarted it, and the check engine light was on. However I shifted the car into D(rive) and proceeded to try to get back home, car seemed to be driving normally, but then no, it began again, the car suddenly shifted into N again as I was driving. I tried pulling over and restarting the vehicle again, but the same thing happened again. I decided to have my passenger take a video of our drive home so that it could be easily shown to the dealer what was happening, that way there would be no question of if the dealer could replicate the issue or not. During our aprox 6:07 minute trip home, it happened another 5 times! Once I was home I found that I had a email from MyNissan saying that there may possibly be an issue with my vehicle emmisions system. My husband has a code reader and he plugged into it and it showed a code of P0742, which is ("torque converter clutch circuit stuck on"). So the next morning 10/01/24 I called my dealership and spoke to service and let them know what was going on and that it needed to come in, I explained however that I would not be loaded my 3 kids in the car and making that hour + trip up there driving the car as this is a HUGE safety hazard. I had the vehicle towed to the dealership. The next day the dealer did reach out to me and tell me they plugged into it, saw the P0742 code, but "didn't know what to do with that", so they were calling the Nissan "TechLine". | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2024 | POWER TRAIN,ENGINE | While driving my son to school, traffic began slowing and then accelerating in front of me. I was driving approximately 40 mph when I took my foot off the accelerator to slow down. Before I had a chance to press the brake, the vehicle shifted into neutral on it own without the shift level being touch and a steady Malfunction Indicator Light came on. At this point the traffic began speeding up and I was unable to accelerate until I manually shifted the vehicle back into drive. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2024 | AIR BAGS,SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | The contact owns a 2022 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated that while the wife was driving approximately 60 MPH and attempting the stop, the braking system malfunctioned and the vehicle did not stop or reduce speed while the brake pedal was being pressed causing the vehicle to crash into the rear of a second vehicle. During the crash, the collision avoidance system did not activate and the air bag did not deploy. No injuries were reported. A police report was taken at the scene and the vehicle was towed away. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The local dealer and manufacturer were not yet contacted. The failure mileage was 38,600. | Crash: Yes Fire: No Towed | 38,600 |
| Aug 2024 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER,VISIBILITY/WIPER | The car ac doesn't work after 2 years, drivers side heated seats not working, computer for stereo and car will randomly shut down | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jul 2024 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER | When attempting to put my vehicle in park by pressing the park button on the gear shift, a large red alert popped up on the dash that said "when parked, use emergency brake", and instead of shifting into park, shifted into neutral, where the car then rolled until I applied pressure on the brake. At this time, the car nearly rolled over my young child as it was not expected for the vehicle to roll after being put into park. There were no warning lights or messages prior to this occurring. It was then found that there has been a service bulletin out regarding a shifter issue with this model vehicle. I took the vehicle to a Nissan dealership where I paid $230 for diagnostics, where they confirmed that the issue was directly related to the service bulletin, but that they would not repair the vehicle as my car was out of warranty, even though it is only two years old. They suggested I reach out to Nissan North America Consumer Affairs to request payment outside of a manufacturer warranty, where they opened a case, and ultimately denied any assistance in repairing the defect that has been found to be known about for nearly a decade, yet they keep making vehicles with the same defective issue. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
