Jul 2026 SEATS While parked my 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee WK (VIN:[XXX]), BOTH the driver and front passenger Active Head Restraints (AHR) spontaneously and violently deployed forward within a couple weeks from each other. There was absolutely NO vehicle collision, crash impact, or structural trauma to trigger a safety sensor deployment. Upon physical inspection of the deployed internal mechanisms, both factory-installed units carry legacy Mopar part number 68058539AD and sequential assembly serial numbers [XXX] and [XXX]. The internal structural plastic pins pinning back the high-tension loaded safety springs degraded, fatigued, and snapped completely on their own. altering the front occupants' driving posture, obstructing clear sightlines, and rendering the whiplash dynamic safety equipment entirely non-functional. The vehicle manufacturer (Stellantis / Jeep) is actively refusing to service or replace this failed safety equipment under the known 10-year AHR component warranty extension (Mopar Warranty Bulletin #23-018-20), citing a localized family ownership transfer. This represents a severe unaddressed occupant safety restraint hazard. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6) Crash: No Fire: No Unknown
Jul 2026 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM Unknown On XXX, our 2022 Certified Pre-Owned Jeep Cherokee Hybrid was brought to the West Plains location for a factory safety recall or recalls and the check engine light on. During the software installation, the technician improperly executed the procedure, took the Integrated Dual Charger Module (IDCM) offline, and completely disabled the vehicle. The West Plains Repair Order explicitly states: "Caused by codes for IDCM and module offline, will not come back online, and has disabled vehicle." Because the vehicle was rendered completely undriveable, it had to be flatbed-towed 90 miles to James River Jeep in [XXX] to resolve the corrupted modules. The Ozark service department confirmed the vehicle arrived disabled due to West Plains' improper procedure and required a new battery to restore system diagnostics. The West Plains General Manager, [XXX], flatly refused to cover the resulting $1,100+ invoice for the battery ($638.71) and towing fees. Mr. [XXX] used intimidating tactics, completely dismissed our concerns, and claimed his dealership 'chooses not to work on hybrid batteries' to evade financial responsibility. This claim is demonstrably false; on October 23, 2025, this exact same location successfully accepted and completed Federal Safety Recall 73C to reprogram our vehicle's Hybrid Control Processor software. A franchise dealership cannot choose to opt out of federal recall obligations on a whim, nor should a consumer be subjected to hostile intimidation when a dealer damages their property. Due to the absolute lack of cooperation locally, the vehicle currently sits unpaid at the Ozark dealership. Formal complaints have been filed with the Missouri Attorney General's Consumer Protection Divisionand the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) using Jeep Case #XXX. We are requesting that Corporate Management review this case immediately and coordinate a direct dealer-to-dealer credit to James River Jeep to resolve this INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6) Crash: No Fire: No Unknown

Jun 2026 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM On approximately January 21st 2026 my vehicle was brought in to Brickell Jeep for the required recall software update. On January 23rd, I was notified that all recalls were complete and that I should come pick up the vehicle. After about a week, I realized that the high voltage battery would not hold a charge and would start to deplete after being fully charged and still plugged in. On February 6th, the vehicle was brought back in for repair. On March 22nd I was told that all was repaired and vehicle was delivered to my home. After about 10 days it one again would not hold a charge. On April 8th, the vehicle was brought back to the dealership. On June 11th I received a call from Stellantis Jeep customer care to inform me that currently, there is no fix for my vehicle and to pick it up and keep it plugged in or it will fail.

Jun 2026 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM This complaint involves a violation of safety recall obligations for Jeep Recall 68C (NHTSA Campaign 25V741000) concerning a high-voltage hybrid battery fire hazard. On Friday, May 29, 2026, the vehicle was brought to Carman Chrysler Jeep Dodge (New Castle, DE) for mandatory recall testing. The vehicle failed the manufacturer's diagnostic analysis due to a critical internal cell separator defect. Because of the immediate thermal and fire risk, the dealership service department immediately grounded the vehicle on-site, stating it is completely unsafe to drive or park near structures. Stellantis/FCA has failed to provide a timely remedy or replacement parts, leaving our vehicle stranded on a commercial lot. Furthermore, the manufacturer has refused to provide direct-billed alternative transportation, offering only an out-of-pocket rental reimbursement model. Because parts are delayed for several months, bankrolling thousands of dollars upfront for a rental vehicle is a massive financial burden that is completely unfeasible for our family. The dealership has also failed to provide physical or digital copies of the failed diagnostic paperwork or Repair Order. We are currently left with a grounded vehicle and no viable, safe transportation.

May 2026 POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE I am submitting this complaint regarding a serious safety-related failure involving my 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe. I purchased the vehicle used with approximately 15,000 miles and was informed the previous owners leased it and rarely used it. At approximately 40,000 miles, despite completing all recalls in a timely manner, the vehicle experienced the exact type of hybrid system failure a recall was intended to prevent. The issue began when the hybrid system failed and left the vehicle unsafe to operate. Upon startup, only accessory power activated and the engine would not start. A full power cycle was required before the vehicle started. Immediately afterward, warnings appeared including "Service Hybrid System," "Service Charging System," "EAB Unavailable," "Lane Keep Assist Unavailable," "Pedestrian Braking Unavailable," and "Adaptive Cruise Control Unavailable." The check engine light illuminated and all hybrid modes became unavailable. Shifting became erratic and harsh. Downshifts from 2nd to 1st felt like sudden braking and caused me to hit my head on the steering wheel. During acceleration, the transmission slipped and shifted unpredictably. Fuel economy dropped from approximately 22 MPG in E-Save mode to approximately 10 MPG at highway speeds. Diagnostic code P1E1D was retrieved and I was advised the vehicle was unsafe to drive. While driving to the dealership, the vehicle shut down twice while in motion. During both shutdowns, power steering and braking assistance were lost, posing an extreme risk to myself and others while moving the vehicle off a busy three-lane roadway. Dealership diagnostics determined one or both high-voltage battery systems failed and required replacement. Despite completed recalls, the issue still occurred. Parts were backordered over a month. I believe this failure and recall effectiveness warrant investigation due to the serious safety risks created by loss of propulsion, steering, and braking assistance while driving.

May 2026 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact contact received a recall notification, NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V741000 (Electrical System). The vehicle was taken to the dealer for a service appointment. The contact was informed that the recall would be completed while the vehicle was at the dealer. The contact was informed that the software update rendered the vehicle to be undriveable. The contact stated that the dealer requested that the battery be replaced. In addition, the contact stated that the vehicle was operable prior to the recall being performed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. The contact was informed that the request for the battery replacement was denied. The failure mileage was approximately 24,000.

May 2026 POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE I, [XXX] was driving home from work on Friday, May 1st on [XXX] in [XXX] during heavy traffic when my vehicle suddenly shut off while traveling approximately 65–70 mph. I initially thought I may not have been pressing the accelerator hard enough, but the vehicle would not respond at all. I then looked at the dashboard and saw a message that said “push brake to start.” At that moment I realized the vehicle had shut down completely while I was in active traffic. I had to coast across three lanes of traffic without any propulsion to reach the shoulder. During this time, I was nearly struck twice from behind because I could not maintain speed with surrounding traffic. Once I reached the shoulder, I was able to restart the vehicle. I was extremely shaken and frightened by the incident. I do not feel safe driving this vehicle again. I was very aware that I could have been seriously injured or killed, and I am thankful I was not struck. I am especially concerned about what could have happened if my grandchild had been in the vehicle with me. This incident occurred after a recall repair had already been performed in September 2025 related to powertrain/hybrid system issues. The failure appears to be the same or similar to the condition the recall was intended to correct. After restarting the vehicle, I drove cautiously to my husband’s workplace and left the vehicle parked. Since the incident, I have experienced ongoing anxiety and distress reliving what happened. This vehicle was intended to be a long-term purchase, and it is extremely concerning that it now appears unsafe to operate. This event represents a serious safety hazard. A sudden loss of propulsion at highway speeds without warning creates a high risk of crash, injury, or death. I am requesting that this issue be investigated, as the prior recall repair does not appear to have corrected the problem. I do not feel this vehicle is safe to operate. May 2026 FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM 1st incident: I pulled out from [XXX] onto [XXX] . As I was accelerating to reach the speed limit the gas pedal became unresponsive around 30-40 mph losing all propulsion. I pushed the gas pedal to the floor and it still did not accelerate, slowing the vehicle down with highway traffic approaching from behind. After 5-10 seconds the pedal suddenly became responsive and the car began to accelerate at a bit of a slower rate than typical for the first few seconds then accelerated as it should. 2nd incident: I was turning from [XXX] , into the driveway at my place of employment. The drive way is on an incline and halfway up the incline the gas pedal again became unresponsive. Due to the incline the vehicle did not continue to coast forward and quickly lost speed at which point I hit the brakes to avoid possibly rolling back into the highway traffic. I then tried the gas pedal again and the vehicle accelerated. This could become extremely dangerous if it were to occur during merging onto a busy highway with traffic moving at high speed, as just one example. The two incidents happened about a month apart. The dealership was not able to replicate the issue as it is a very random occurrence with no warning of when it will happen. No warning lights became visible on the dash. Through a quick google search it became apparent this is a known issue, with several possible quick fixes, which I relayed to the dealership when I took the vehicle in for them to fix it. It was not replicated on their test drive and no codes were showing so I was told they couldn’t do anything unless a code would pop up or they were able to replicate the issue, which is very unlikely to happen during a quick test drive. The dealership stated it has performed all recalls to date. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Apr 2026 UNKNOWN OR OTHER This is a major safety risk. While driving in the left lane of the highway the car abruptly turned off and gave a "Service hybrid required" type of message. My husband was almost hit by a truck. Apr 2026 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE Hybrid battery system, still don't have heat after 2 years of car ownership. Not to mention the hybrid battery failure rate, I've driven several times and the vehicle will just have no power. I bring it to the dealership almost monthly and they always have some excuse. The vehicle's lane assist is also a hazard. I'll just be driving down highway and it'll just jerk the wheel randomly.

Apr 2026 ENGINE I am a former Transmission Calibration Engineer at Stellantis, so I know what I'm talking about. I experienced an engine stall event while coasting down in speed. I was in town, driving about 30 mph, and coasting (0% pedal). I lightly applied the brakes and while the vehicle was still in motion (coasting) the engine stalled. The information cluster displayed a message that said "put the vehicle in park and restart the engine." I coasted around a corner, came to a stop, put the transmission in Park, and restarted the engine. No MIL or codes were set. I have a scan tool and confirmed later that no codes were set. I'm fairly certain the engine was in DFSO (decel fuel shutoff) when the issue occurred as the conditions were all correct for DFSO (engine was in normal operating temperature range, gear was 5th or 6th when coasting was initiated, and pedal was 0% for several seconds before the issue occurred). Loss of propulsion is an obvious safety concern as I lost control of the vehicle.

Apr 2026 POWER TRAIN The right PTU has failed out of nowhere causing a very loud pop and then grinding when driven. The vehicle was inspected by the jeep dealership last week to find that that was the issue. There was no warning or symptoms prior to the problem. The safety risk is evident in that it could cause an accident, the vehicle to stop completely, not Transmitting power and or not going into park. All without warning. The replacement is very costly

Apr 2026 POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE I am reporting a safety-related problem involving a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe, VIN [XXX] . Dealership records reflect hybrid / charging-related failure, including a documented “service hybrid system message and vehicle will not charge,” repeated recall-related PHEV / high-voltage service, and later jerking during acceleration and deceleration with stored transmission-related fault code P0734. The records also document a passenger front door condition where the door would not open from the interior or exterior. These issues raise concerns relating to vehicle operation, electrical / hybrid system reliability, and occupant egress. The vehicle has required repeated service and caused loss of use.
