May 2024 SUSPENSION Initially noticed a creaking noise from the rear of the vehicle when going at low speeds and over bumps. The moose got progressively worse over time. The vehicle was first serviced for this issue in September 2023. The Hyundai service center confirmed rear shock shock absorbers and mounts needed replacement. The issue was resolved, but then occured again in March 2024, once again the Hyundai service center confirmed rear shocks were leaking. The left rear shock absorber was replaced again. The same issue occured again in April 2024 and May 2024. The Hyundai service center replaced both rear shock absorbers and insulators in April and replaced passenger rear shock absorber in May. The issue is still persisting after replacement.

May 2024 STEERING,POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM I was driving down a road with 50mph speed limit when a few of my dash lights began to come on and then go off. Then about 2minutes later, all the dash lights came on, my display screen went black, my power steering wheel froze up. I safely pulled over to a parking lot. Turned the car off. And it wouldn't start back up. I took it to the Jim Click Hyundai in Tucson to get it diagnosed. The alternator was diagnosed as faulty, therefore killing my battery. This is an extremely unsafe circumstance for my 2 year old car to be going through. I cannot believe that this happend. I had to pay for a new battery at the dealership. Now not even 2 months later... my car wouldn't start. I waited 10minutes, it turned on, but it looked like it did a factory reset. I will be contacting the dealership...again. But this must be looked into further. I can't believe a 2 year old car would be having these types of problems.

Apr 2024 UNKNOWN OR OTHER On April 19, 2024, while driving my 2022 Hyundai Palisade around 10:00 am (82 degrees outside) at a speed of 70 mph with no traffic ahead or behind me, my sunroof exploded. A very loud noise that startled my wife and me while driving. With no traffic on the road i was able to safely pull over and inspect the sunroof/damage. It left a semi round hole of shattered missing glass approximately twelve (12) inches in diameter. I then drove immediately to the nearest Hyundai dealer (Hyundai North - Covington LA). There service tech inspected it and said this issue has been happening often, but it is not covered under warranty, therefore, I would need to file an insurance claim to fix it.

Apr 2024 VISIBILITY/WIPER I had the driver-side wiper replaced in November 2023 due to a recall and have had an issue 3x since then. Twice, snow had accumulated under the wiper arm while driving and caused the wiper motor to stop. That is the exact reason for the recall but it continues to happen regardless. Then the other night while driving 70 on a freeway in heavy rain with wipers on full speed, the driver wiper started hitting the left edge of the windshield a few swipes, slowed down for a few swipes, then stopped completely in the lower position. Had to get off at the next exit as all attempts wouldn't get them working again. Two days later I was able to get into the dealership for a quick "tightening of the bolt" to get the wipers functioning again. The dealership said they knew exactly what the problem was due to so many people having this issue with needing the bolt tightened because it must have worked its way loose. The motor must be too weak and the replacement wiper arm has not remedied the occurrence, leading to some very hazardous situations.

Mar 2024 POWER TRAIN The car had no warnings, inspection not due anytime soon but suddenly it started having blockage while driving(when it switches from one gear to next). It basically became non-drivable at any speed. Upon calling Hyundai service center, initially they were giving appointment 1 month away. Finally, they gave an appointment earlier, took the car and they suspect it’s a transmission problem and they have cars with same problems coming in and that there is difficulty in getting this part due to shortage and lot of similar complaints. This looks like a problem with the newest model as well with 10k miles on it and it can take even 3 months for us to get back our car. The point being it’s a new car, parts not available from manufacturer, and service center unable to provide an ETA on when it will be fixed. Any help is greatly appreciated.

The contact stated that pieces of the sunroof glass fell the on roadway and inside the vehicle. The contact sustained a cut on his leg but did not seek medical attention. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, who determined that a stone had hit the sunroof; however, the contact stated that there was no external cause of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was opened, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 43,000.

Feb 2024 SEAT BELTS The second-row passenger-side seatbelt does not stay in the locked position. We will push the tongue (male end) in completely and then seconds later the tongue disconnects from the buckle (female end) on its own. It takes multiple attempts (3-5 times) every time to keep it in the locked position. Sometimes the tongue will come undone when driving for an hour out of nowhere. We have tried sweeping out the buckle section and made sure the tongue end is clean and not disfigured. This has been happening for 9+ months. We thought it was a user error but it continues to happen to multiple passengers.

Jan 2024 UNKNOWN OR OTHER,ENGINE On January 21, 2024, I was driving the Palisade about 80 miles away from home when I got Engine Overheated message multiple times. The temperature gage would go up and to max then goes down multiple times. Finally it was discovered that the coolant was leaking. The vehicle had about 31,000 miles. It was supposedly inspected when after 30,000 on December 28, 2023. The car was towed to a nearby dealer. Since it was Sunday, I had to rent a car and went home. next day I called the dealer and was told the car would not be checked for another month at least. I was told to find other dealer in the area that can handle the inspection and fix if I wanted the car any sooner. I complained vehemently. I gave up and called other dealers in the area. Finally the same dealer called back and said that they have looked at the car it turned out there is technical bulletin for the issue. I was told to come down and get a loaner. I traveled to that location next day and picked up a loaner as my car is the only car we have. I talked to the dealer where the car was inspected last December and was told that service departments do not loo at TBS unless the owner raises an issue. I do not have access to TBS to check what's out there. This issue should not happen to consumers. Bulletins and recalls should be available publicly to all consumers to be aware of issues. I'm not sure where to go get TBS for my car. I found Hyundai's site for recalls. Nothing else. This should be addressed at the national level. Attached is a file that contains pictures of the coolant reservoir, at the beginning, after adding more coolant, then at end when it became clear coolant level is coming down.

Jan 2024 SEAT BELTS the second row seat belts come disengaged while driving. We will buckle in our child, double check it is locked by pulling on seat belt and a couple minutes later it will disengage from the buckle and come undone. This is happening on a regular basis with our Palisade and the dealer/corporate office has no notes on this issue. If you search online you will see numerous reports about others experiencing this issue. It also sounds a lot like Hyundai's Recall #160 on the sonata.
