Sep 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,BACK OVER PREVENTION This vehicle had the recall repaired for the Most Bus cable issue that Honda has. Now they vehicle is back having the same issue and Honda has not done another recall for the issue starting again for the same thing this is a safety issue. You lose all rear warnings cameras and detection. Honda will not repair the recalled issue again. They have not properly fixed it.

Aug 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER,ENGINE It was the same thing as my last three reports. The vehicle stalls in a way that freezes the vehicle where I cannot turn it off or on or engage or remove the parking brake. I cannot put it in gear or in neutral. Last time it stalled me in the middle of a seven lane highway. This time it was in the middle of a hospital entrance. I feel like I am gambling with my life and the dealership won’t listen to me! How many times does this have to happen??

Aug 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM While stopped at a red light with brake engaged but not fully pushed down, the engine remained running while auto start/stop feature was still on. This was not the problem. Suddenly, all electric shut off including the engine. We fully engaged the brake and restarted the vehicle. This vehicle has also given low battery warnings right after engine is turned off but stereo etc remain on before the driver door is opened. The battery is less than a year old. Vehicle is available for inspection, traffic safety was a concern, we have not taken it to a dealer yet, and no one has inspected this yet.

Jul 2025 STRUCTURE Honda has issued a Service Bulletin (SERVICE BULLETIN 22-018 [XXX] ) for the issue stating that "After powering open, the tailgate either slowly sags down or the power tailgate control unit sounds a warning tone before powering the tailgate closed" This is a danger as the liftgate closes aggressively and anyone standing under it can be hit in the head and severely injured. The force required to reverse the closure is significant and requires active attention. If one had opened the liftgate and started removing items from the trunk, as has happened to both my wife and myself, the liftgate can hit very hard. If a child is there the risk is significant. This has happened to us multiple times. This should not be a mere service bulletin which requires out of pocket cost to the consumer, but an active recall for repair INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Jul 2025 FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM There have been several instances where the vehicle’s “Idle-Stop” feature failed to restart the vehicle resulting in a stall. This has happened in heavy traffic including once in the middle of a busy intersection while waiting to make a left turn. My vehicle has not been inspected by the dealer, but this is a known issue with an open investigation.

Jul 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM The contact owns a 2022 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that while attempting to start the vehicle, the vehicle failed to start. The contact used a portable jumpstart kit to jumpstart the vehicle. The contact stated that the failure had occurred on several occasions. The contact stated that the low battery warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that battery was drained due to the electrical system. The battery was replaced, and the vehicle was repaired. The manufacture was notified of the failure but offered no assistance. The approximate failure mileage was 76,000.

Jul 2025 STRUCTURE The tail gate automatically closes on us due to failed strut to support it. This is a repeatable process. When open the tail gate, it will closes automatically - very dangerous when the user (me) is trying to put stuffs in or out of the trunk. It closes on my head a few times. Went to dealership, they said this is a common issue where the strut holding up the tailgate failed and had to be replaced. It is currently not under recall, so I must pay fully for it to be safe.

Jul 2025 VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE Adaptive cruise control unexpectedly disengages. This has happened dozens of times, consistently every time I use the adaptive cruise control on the highway. My speed drops from the set speed (for example, 75 mph) down to 55 or 60 mph, at which point I realize it’s not going to come back on. This is extremely dangerous on the highway, and puts me at risk of being rear-ended by vehicles traveling at high speed.

Jun 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,ENGINE Bought our 2022 Honda Odyssey in November of 2021. Vehicle has the Idle/Stop feature. That feature never worked properly. Always said, warming up or charging and didn't work. Recently, June 7, 2025 my wife driving was at the light with the stop feature activated, she took her foot off the brake for it to start up and it was shifting weird. Happened several times. On June 11, 2025, I was at a light and when I let my foot of the brake for the feature to start the vehicle, the vehicle stalled and I couldn't get it in gear. Eventually it went in gear. I could've gotten into an accident. I called the dealership on June 11, 2025 to make an appointment. After seeing something else on the news about a recall, I decided to look up my issue. I found that there is an investigation and lawsuits about it. I had no idea. I had no idea a letter was sent to owners. I NEVER received it!! I looked at my service records and on February 15, 2024, at an oil change, the dealership fixed a recall per Honda for Auto Start and says UPDATED. My vehicle is still having issues.

May 2025 SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE Vehicle Make/Model/Year: 2022 Honda Odyssey Date of Incident: 5-1-25 Mileage at Incident: 30,000 Summary of Incident: While my 2022 Honda Odyssey was fully stopped in traffic with my foot firmly on the brake pedal, the vehicle unexpectedly lurched forward and struck the car in front of me. Just before or during the lurch, the brake system warning light appeared on the dashboard. I did not have my foot on the accelerator at any time. The road was flat and weather conditions were normal. The Idle Stop system has not been functioning for several months, so the vehicle was operating in normal engine-on mode. Despite this, the car surged forward from a full stop, indicating a possible failure in the brake system, electronic throttle control, or a software/ECU malfunction. This was a dangerous, uncommanded movement of the vehicle while stopped, which resulted in a minor collision. Thankfully, no one was injured, but this poses a serious safety hazard, especially if it were to occur in crosswalks or at intersections. I will report the issue to Honda the dealership and requested a full diagnostic inspection. I am submitting this complaint because this incident could have caused serious injury or worse and may be part of a broader defect affecting brake or throttle systems on this model.

Apr 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER Honda issued a recall of the MOST Bus Network which was done on my vehicle on 7/21/23. However, recently the vehicle started making static noise from the speakers whether the radio was on or not and eventually displayed a "Network Communication error MOST Network Off" error screen on the display temporarily. During these outages the display is completely unavailable and presents a hazard since the rear camera is unavailable. Since the display reboots and only happens intermittently the dealer was unable to reproduce the error and believes the vehicle is "operating to Honda specifications." Despite the fact that we have photos and videos of this issue occurring multiple times! This is a known issue in multiple other year/make/models of Honda vehicles which were eventually recalled. Clearly they have not corrected the issue in the 2022 Honda Odyssey and should be subject to dealer recall and replaced and repaired.

Feb 2025 UNKNOWN OR OTHER The fuel door will not open. It appears the fuel door actuator has failed. This can result in being stranded as not able to fuel. Dealer has confirmed and is charging me to fix. Vehicle only has about 33,000 miles on it and is 44 months in service. There were no warning lights, but interesting enough the driver side sliding door does make a grumbling noise like it needs to be oiled. I am having the dealer review this as well.

Jan 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER I am writing to file a safety complaint about the 2022 Honda Odyssey Elite concerning critical infotainment and electrical system failures that present significant safety risks. These failures include power cycling, freezing, and complete system shutdowns, which impair essential vehicle functions like navigation, climate control, and communication. The random nature of the failures makes it difficult for technicians to replicate the problem, but it occurs intermittently while driving. Normally, the infotainment system just fails, requiring the car to be parked and power cycled, including opening and closing a door. On one occasion, the vehicle catastrophically failed during operation and would not restart. The car had to be towed to the dealer, but when it arrived, it was able to start without any jump-start. The dealer stated they could not replicate the issue so there was nothing that would be done beyond replacing the battery.

Dec 2024 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM The Anti-Theft System on the car randomly looses power. This causes the car's power to cut out when you are slowing down and apply the brakes to stop. Once the power cuts, you have to wait about 30 seconds before the ignition Start button illuminates again to restart the car. Once you restart the car the screen on the center dash (stereo/navigation screen) states the Anti-Theft System lost power and you must push the power button in on the stereo for a few seconds to reset it. When it occurs while at a stop sign, traffic signal or during stop and go traffic, other drivers have to wait for you to reset the car so you can proceed and get out of the way. When it occurs during parking, you get out of the car and when you attempt to lock the car it will not since the system lost power. You have to get back in the car, restart it, reset the Anti-Theft system, stop the car and then get out to lock it. With this issue, the system loosing power while in the flow of traffic is a safety hazard. This issue did not start to occur until after my Honda was serviced and had its system updated for the Auto Start safety recall.

Dec 2024 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM Third row drivers-side power outlet caught on fire while dropping kids off at school. Kids started saying they smelled smoke while driving. Six year old child was sitting in seat right next to the power outlet shouted the van was on fire, everyone exited vehicle Fire extinguisher from school was used to put the fire out. Fire department came, stated the fire seemed electrical in nature; do not have fire department report yet. Plastic and surrounding area are melted from the fire. Vehicle is currently sitting at mechanics lot waiting to hear back from Honda; insurance told us to wait to hear back from Honda before they would do anything. Called the Honda Customer Care on the date of the incident and have still not heard back from them; have called multiple times and they say we are in a queue and there’s nothing they can do until our case reaches the top of the queue. No lights came on leading up to the fire. Incident seems very similar to Safety Recall Report 20V-066.

Nov 2024 UNKNOWN OR OTHER Immediately after picking up my vehicle following the replacement of the front bumper, I noticed the keyless entry system started to malfunction. When I touched the driver’s door handle, it didn’t respond as it should. Instead, I had to use the rear left passenger door handle to unlock the driver’s door. Additionally, the vehicle used to emit a warning buzz if any doors were not properly closed. However, after the repair, this warning sound no longer functions. When the doors are properly closed, the vehicle typically beeps twice in quick succession, but these beeps are sometimes too faint to hear due to background noise. Three days ago, I returned home after dark and unknowingly left my vehicle unlocked in the driveway because I didn’t hear the usual warning sound. That night, a burglar entered the vehicle, ransacked it in search of cash or valuables, and stole my $100 jumpstarter/tire inflator. Alarmingly, my garage door opener was on the sun visor, which could have led to a much worse situation. This malfunction has caused serious concerns, as the lack of clear audible warnings creates opportunities for oversights and security risks. Besides, I talked to the dealership more than three different occasions but I got no help. On one occassion, service technician said to leave my vehicle longer than a day but I was in no situation to accept that offer.

Nov 2024 POWER TRAIN The transmission failed on two separate occasions. The first instance occurred while making a left turn when the gear shifting malfunctioned, causing the vehicle to emit a groaning noise. This happened at a speed of less than 5 mph and lasted only a couple of seconds. The second incident took place while I was waiting at a traffic light. When the light turned green, my vehicle failed to move. I immediately turned on the emergency lights, as I was the first car in the lane. More than half a dozen vehicles passed me before I turned off the engine and restarted it, which allowed me to move just before the light turned red again. This situation was risky, as I could have been rear-ended by cars behind me. This reminded me of a few unfortunate incidents in the past where I was hit from behind by other vehicles, adding to my concern about this experience.

Nov 2024 AIR BAGS While waiting at a traffic light, I began moving as soon as the light turned green. However, I was momentarily blinded by the sun and accidentally hit the curb. The airbag deployed but failed to inflate properly; it just fizzled out and hung limp, like a deflated balloon. Fortunately, I was traveling at less than 5 mph, and no one was injured. However, the situation could have been much worse if the vehicle had been moving at a higher speed.

Nov 2024 ENGINE Engine totally shut down at a stop sign. No indicator lights were on, the van was completely "dead". The van restarted after continuously mashing engine start button for 4 minutes. During the other occurrence, the engine would not restart after a short store stop but some of the lights were on on the dashboard. The van restarted after about a minute. These occurrences happened within 2 weeks of each other and the mileage was between 44,000-46,000mi.
