Date Component Summary Severity Mileage
Jan 2026 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM After a little over 3 years, my truck has had issues maintaining its 12v battery putting me at risk of being stranded. The battery was replaced once under warranty. Now that I am out of warranty, the replacement battery is now going bad.
Incident: Jan 2026
Crash: No Fire: No Unknown
Jan 2026 UNKNOWN OR OTHER The vehicle experiences water intrusion into the passenger-side footwell and under-carpet area during rain events. The suspected failure involves the body sealing system, potentially including the windshield cowl area, firewall seams, HVAC intake/cowl drainage, or related body panel seals. The vehicle and all affected components are fully intact and available for inspection upon request. The carpet has been lifted to document standing water and mold growth but has not been replaced or permanently altered. This defect presents multiple safety risks, including: Visible Black Mold contamination inside the passenger compartment, airbag, and throughout HVAC system, creating a health hazard for occupants. Potential electrical system damage due to repeated water exposure. Possible impact on airbag and restraint system wiring, which is located beneath the passenger-side dash and carpet. Increased risk of window fogging and reduced visibility during wet conditions. The vehicle is currently unsafe to occupy during or after rain due to these conditions. The problem is consistently reproducible whenever the vehicle is exposed to rain. The issue has occurred repeatedly over the course of ownership. A Ford dealership has acknowledged the presence of water intrusion but has not performed a full diagnostic inspection, instead requiring a paid inspection fee, claiming they are "fully booked until further notice" and stating they are “unaware” of similar issues, despite widespread owner reports.

Dec 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM Battery in the passenger compartment is charging at 15.2 volts constantly. Ford dealer claims this is not a problem, but the battery life has been shortened, and the battery model number states it should be charged between 13.8 and 14.2 volts. The battery is located under the rear seat, inside the passenger compartment. From my limited understanding of battery technology, over-charging can produce hydrogen into the passenger compartment. My vehicle is now on the third battery, and has only 73,511 miles.

Sep 2025 UNKNOWN OR OTHER HVAC evaporator drain is broken/cracked/clogged at firewall forcing water that should drain to outside of vehicle under the passenger side rubber floor mats, making it unknown to driver for months that this is happening and by the fuse box creating mold, mildew, and electrical issues. This is a known issue with ford trucks. Ford refuses to acknowledge and help with repair requiring removal of dashboard and replacement of moldy floor mats which is a health hazard. Dealership wants several thousand for repairs. This is an engineering design problem and must be recalled due to health hazards, electrical damage to full fuse box being under the carpet that's wet and the fact that ford knows this issue exists but won't correct the design flaw.

Sep 2025 SEAT BELTS I am getting a “rear seat belt monitor fault” warning on my dash accompanied by an air bag warning light. It is also not allowing the auto start stop function to work as the vehicle states it cannot verify the driver seat belt is fastened. I have read in online forums that this is not an isolated issue.

Sep 2025 VISIBILITY/WIPER Never in all my years of driving have I or anyone i know experienced a vehicle with such a sensitive windshield that cracks with even minimal impact. I've owned this Ford maverick for under 3 years with 3 chip repairs and 2 replacements. This is unfair to consumers as often we are not aware of this issue until it is too late to change undo the purchases on these vehicles and have to drive faulty vehicles. It's surprising that there's no recall already assessed for something that causes customers to have higher insurance premiums, constant damage that affects visibility and causes some to drive with these defects to avoid extra costs and wasted money. I am hopeful you can assist us consumers in having Ford rectifying these issues at no cost to us as their choice to use defective windshield glass has cost all of us. This issue is widely known by owners and discussed on social media forums in abundance. Dealers are aware of this issue and offer nothing but an attempt to purchase other vehicles. Minimal research on the internet provides an abundance of evidence. I thank you for your time and assistance in advance for this issue.

Aug 2025 POWER TRAIN,ENGINE,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE I was at a stoplight, when the light turned green I went to press the gas and the whole car lost power and died. The car stalled and would not turn over again. The vehicle had power but would not start the engine. All the alerts were flashing on the dash and the car would not go into neutral, so I was stuck in the middle of the roadway. I followed the procedures to activate the manual override and place the car into neutral and the vehicle would still not move. The electrical brake would not allow the vehicle to move. We tried repeatedly to put the car into neutral to move out of an active roadway and would be able to push the vehicle about an inch before the electrical break would kick in again. The vehicle would not start regardless of what was attempted. We even disconnected the battery in hopes of either getting the vehicle into neutral (which did not work either) or restarting whatever was wrong with the electrical system and be able to start the truck. Nothing worked and the vehicle had to be hoisted by pulley onto a flat bed tow truck. Then required to be "shaken" off of the truck when it arrived at the Ford dealership.

The contact related the failure to a Customer Satisfaction Program: 23B56 (Inspect front door check-arm reinforcement spot welds); however, the VIN was not included in the CSP. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and the contact was informed that there were no recalls on the VIN related to the failure. The failure mileage was 27,000.

Jul 2025 STRUCTURE The contact owns a 2022 Ford Maverick. The contact stated that while opening the front driver's side door, there was an abnormally loud creaking sound coming from the door. The contact stated that the sound became louder over time. There were fractures around the door frame, causing the sound. As a result of the failure, the contact stated that the front, driver side door window would only roll down at approximately an inch. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed; however, the contact was not informed which part needed to be replaced. The dealer stated that a door panel kit was to be sent to the dealer for the repair. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and opened a case. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 72,000.

Jul 2025 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE When in adaptive cruise control the vehicle must of not seen the lines properly and started to steer towards the ditch. Then when trying to steer back onto the road the truck keep trying to steer into the ditch. The truck was fighting the drivers input even though the truck should deactivate the adaptive cruise control when manually taking over. The truck end up in the ditch and ran over a mailbox. The truck was inspected by Ford but they claimed nothing is wrong with it. It says in the manual that adaptive cruise control sometimes doesn't detect lines properly but when taking control the vehicle shouldn't continue to steer into a ditch. The Ford dealership were not able to get the same results because how can they when this problem doesn't happen all the time? The vehicle should not be fighting the driver instead it should of canceled the adaptive cruise control. It's very dangerous and I think needs to be looked into.

Jun 2025 UNKNOWN OR OTHER Phone calls while connected to CarPlay do not come through car on first call. You have to press speaker on your phone twice to get it to come through. Which can lead to distraction while driving. Switching between CarPlay and radio also causes serious sound difference with one being deafening and extremely startling which can be dangerous while driving. Ford will not look into and brushes it off anytime it is mentioned to the dealership service department.
