| Jul 2023 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER,EQUIPMENT | I was driving down the highway and a loud pop followed by a very high pitched static noise came out of my speakers. I had to unhook a battery terminal to get it to stop. This is the 3rd time this has happened and the dealership won’t do anything as it’s extremely difficult to replicate. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jun 2023 | SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC,AIR BAGS | The contact owns a 2022 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the accelerator pedal was depressed and released. The contact then depressed the brake pedal; however, the brakes failed to stop the vehicle immediately, and the transmission failed to shift into neutral (N). The vehicle coasted to the side of the roadway and was able to come to a complete stop. The dealer was made aware of the failure but confirmed that they would not be able to duplicate the failure without a check engine warning light illuminated. The dealer advised the contact to drive the vehicle until the check engine warning light illuminates to diagnose the vehicle. The contact stated that the following week, the failure recurred while making a left turn into the gas station. The vehicle experienced unintended acceleration at 42 MPH, and the brakes failed to stop the vehicle immediately. The "Sudden Acceleration, Sudden Braking" message was displayed. The vehicle crashed into a gas station, injuring the cashier and a customer. One of the injured people received medical attention. The contact did not sustain any injuries, but medical attention was received. No air bags were deployed upon impact. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to the police department, where a police investigator accessed the EDR. The vehicle was then towed to the dealer. The contact related the failure to a stuck throttle; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired and remained at the dealer. Greene Ford Company (2365 Browns Bridge Rd., Gainesville, GA 30504) was also made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the manufacturer. The vehicle was not deemed totaled by the insurance company. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that he was driving with both feet depressing the accelerator and brake pedals at the same time, which the contact stated was incorrect. The failure mileage was approximately 22,000. | Crash: Yes Fire: No Injuries: 2 Towed Medical attention | 22,000 |
| Jun 2023 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | On 2 seperate occasions the audio system has malfunctioned. The truck has the B and O "Unleashed" sound system. The first time was December 2022. I started the vehicle and the sound system blasted at full volume and scared the heck out of me. The system would not respond in any way, blank display on the dash. The second time was May 2023. I started the truck and there was a loud "explosion" sound and the display was again totally blank and not responding. Drove to the dealership and was told they had no idea what was wrong. Very dangerous situation that is not safe. Truck has had 2 recalls and only has less than 2000 miles. Purchased new at Harold Ford 6/29/22. Assembled at Dearborn Truck. Currently waiting on axle parts at dealership. LEMON would be being kind. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jun 2023 | VISIBILITY | The contact owns a 2022 Ford F-150. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V842000 (Visibility) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated while driving 30 MPH in the rain, the windshield wipers stopped working. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact veered to the side of the road, where he remained until the vehicle was safe to drive. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where the windshield wiper motor terminals were cleaned, and the motor was reinstalled. The windshield wipers became operable however, the failure recurred three days later. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the failure was related to the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the dealer for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 7,000. Parts distribution disconnect. | Crash: No Fire: No | 7,000 |
| Jun 2023 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER,VISIBILITY/WIPER | Following automatic install of Ford Power-Up 4.2.4 on 6/9/23 center 12” infotainment display has been experiencing freeze ups, audio glitches, and video delays. This occurs most often when the rear back up camera is active. At times the rear backup camera video freezes or blanks out entirely. I have not yet contacted the automaker because they’ve not released any sort of update or comments dealing with the issue. The malfunction could pose a risk of collision as the rear camera becomes briefly unusable even while in motion. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jun 2023 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER,ENGINE | The contact owned a 2022 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving approximately 3-4 MPH going up a sandy rocky hill while towing a trailer, he noticed smoke and flames coming from the driver's and passenger's side engine compartments. The contact was able to stop and exit the vehicle. There were no warning lights illuminated before the fire. The vehicle was burned to the ground when the fire department arrived on the scene. There were no reported injuries. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a tow lot. The insurance company deemed the vehicle a total loss. The Insurance provider had the vehicle inspected by a Fire Origin Specialist however, the contact was not provided a report of any findings. The contact called the local dealer but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted but no additional assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 4,000. | Crash: No Fire: Yes Towed | 4,000 |
| Jun 2023 | VISIBILITY/WIPER | Since first taking delivery of the vehicle, the front windshield has exhibited poor visibility and significant glare, especially in rain during the evening/night, due to what appears to be a film of some sort. The windshield impairs visibility to the extent that it scares me to drive in rain, producing a sort of cataract effect on your vision. My local Ford dealer in Louisiana attempted to address by replacing the windshield wipers and cleaning the windshield on at least three separate occasions over the course of six months, yet the issue persists. Like another complainant with the same issue (NHTSA ID no. 11524402), Ford stored my truck for months while awaiting chips to finish the vehicle. As of 6/21/23, my local dealer is communicating with corporate Ford regarding windshield replacement. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |

| Jun 2023 | POWER TRAIN | There is a bolt on the rear axle shaft that hold on the hub. The one on my right rear axle sheared off. I have discovered by online research that this has been an issue with the HD Towing a le on this model truck. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jun 2023 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | Brakes completely failed without warning or any indication that something was wrong. Lost brakes completely, and dash lit up saying ABS Fault, service advanced traction, hill start assist unavailable, pre Collison assist not available. Luckily i was able to slow down by downshifting in M and throwing it into park before it even came to a stop. Had it towed to dealer and repaired. Dealer failed to give me documentation of what was replaced and/or repaired. Luckily I just exited the highway. I could have been seriously hurt or killed. As well as someone else could obviously had been killed or hurt. I live in Colorado and 75% of my driving is down steep mountain grades. This could have ended catastrophically. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jun 2023 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | The SYNC4 system has been glitching lately everytime I engage reverse or click the button to display the cameras. Typically the glitch is minimal and nothing to be concerned about as the system resumes operation after 2 - 3 seconds. However the other day my family and I were traveling home towing our travel trailer and the SYNC4 system decided to reboot itself mid-drive at highway speeds (No buttons were pressed at this time). Upon resuming normal operation the truck felt as if it was working harder to stop us and the trailer. This is when I noticed that the SYNC4 reboot had caused the trailer brake controller to forget my camper profile and revert to default. This left the trailer applying less braking power than if my camper profile were properly engaged. I was able to recall the camper profile and complete the trip so no injuries to report but this could leave drivers unaware of the change. The truck stayed in its tow/haul mode but there were not visual indicators to alert the driver the trailer brake settings had reverted back to default. I reached out to Ford customer service and they have stated they have not heard this issue to date. I have not taken the truck to the dealer yet but I plan on having them inspect the system. I still face the glitching when pressing the camera button but have not re-produced the trailer brake reset as of now. I am also unsure if the two behaviors are related but they are both controlled by the SYNC system. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2023 | VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,ENGINE | The contact owns a 2022 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the computer needed to be programmed. The vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred. While driving approximately 50 MPH with the cruise control activated, the vehicle unintendedly accelerated to approximately 70 MPH. The brakes failed to respond while depressing the brake pedal. The failure was self-corrected. The vehicle was taken back to the local dealer who documented the failure but was unable to duplicate the failure. The manufacturer was contacted, and the contact was referred to another dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 10,600. | Crash: No Fire: No | 10,600 |
| May 2023 | VISIBILITY/WIPER | I ordered an f150 in march of 2022 The build date was April of 2022 It was apparently stored in a harsh environment for 10.5 months It was January 31 of 2023 before I received the truck The windshield was pitted and visibility was diminished, especially with early or late sun There were also apparently chemicals on the inside of windshield that were difficult to remove even after 10+ attempts at cleaning. Complaint was filed through the MN attorney general office to ford motor and nothing was done. I brought back to dealer on 4/24/23 Windshield was finally changed on 5/19/23 Visibility was definitely hindered and I feel all vehicles made and stored by ford in this manner should be recalled and inspected. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2023 | POWER TRAIN | I recently took a trip home to Pennsylvania (I live in Alabama) to visit family. A few days into my trip I noticed a rattle sound coming from my rear passenger side wheel. It was only noticeable at low speeds but it sounded like the wheel hub may have been lose or perhaps a stone had made it inside the center hub. I take immaculate care of my vehicle and it is still under the manufacturer new vehicle warranty. Upon further inspection, I removed the wheel hub and noticed that the axle spline bolt had sheered off with the washer and was actually rolling around like a wash machine inside the hub. At high speeds the centrifugal force was enough to keep the bolt against the outer wall of the wheel hub. When slowing down the force was no longer great enough and the bolt would fall down and then tumble around as the speed went down. I was supposed to leave for home at 3am, but now due to this issue, the vehicle is not safe to drive. Ford has not offered a solution other than to let the local dealer look at it (700 miles from home). They have verbally told me they will reimburse a rental car and get my truck shipped home to me after the repair, but none of this has been made in writing. This is a known issue for Ford. There are hundreds of documented cases online and my local selling dealer in Alabama knew of the issue when I called to report it. They have had 4 cases recently of the same issue. Ford MUST issue a recall IMMEDIATELY! This is a major safety issue and could cause the axle to "fall out" of the wheel hub at speed and could cause a major accident and almost certain death if this were to occur at high speeds. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2023 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER | Loud popping from the speakers and static noise. Sounded like a explosion inside the cab | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2023 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | Extremely loud popping and screeching sound coming from speaker. So loud it made me pull over and exit truck. This is the third time this has occurred. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2023 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | On 05-07-2023. I started my vehicle and suddenly through the radio speakers there was an extremely loud and painful Pop and static noise through my radio speakers at full volume. I was not able to turn it down or off by turning the radio controls, It was so loud it scared me and my family. Forced us to get off the highway and I turned the truck on and off several times which did nothing, the unbearable noise continued with the vehicle off. I rolled down all the windows and drove 5 miles home whete it continued to make the noisefor about a half hour before finally shutting off. After a while i restarted the truck and the noise has not come back. This is the second time this has happened, but this was the most sever. My pregnant daughter was 2 weeks from delivery and if a newborn would have been in the car it could have easily permantely damanged an infants hearing. My family's ears rang for a day with headaches. My truck has the B & O unleashed sound system. I have read where others have experienced this same issue and Ford has not acknowledged a problem. I called my local Ford dealer and they were not aware of the issue and gave me no guidance. I do not know if this a radio or electrical issue - but something was very very wrong. I believe that my safety and the safety of any children especially young children would be at sever risk. Very paintful experience. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2023 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | Extremely loud pop/bang from the speakers out of the blue. Very startling as I thought I had hit something or had something catastrophically fail. Fortunately was on an empty street because the sound was so bad I slammed on the brakes. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2023 | VISIBILITY/WIPER | Ford dealership, Soul Lake Ford, in Sour Lake Texas states that they will not order or make entry to fix a recall notice from Ford due to no parts available. So they stated wiper motor fails while in service they will repair as priority need. I stated the recall states failure can cause potential crash risk. They refused to put me on a repair call list. I call customer complaints at Ford and they didn’t resolve. So no to take care of recall. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2023 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,EQUIPMENT | Sound system randomly stops working and makes an extremely load cracking and popping sounds. Usually happens a few minutes after start up | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2023 | STEERING,SERVICE BRAKES | The contact owns a 2022 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 5 MPH the braking system and power steering suddenly failed causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle and crash into a concrete light pole pillar. During the incident, the vehicle was severely damaged. The driver sustained a right-hand laceration and chest and leg injuries. The front passenger sustained both leg injuries. Both occupants required medical treatment. The cause of the failures was not determined. A police report was taken at the scene and the vehicle was towed to an undisclosed location. The contact indicated that the failures had also occurred prior to the crash. The local dealer was notified of the failure. The manufacturer was not yet contacted regarding the incident. The failure mileage was 10,100. | Crash: Yes Fire: No Injuries: 2 Towed Medical attention | 10,100 |
| Apr 2023 | STRUCTURE,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | Issue #1. Forward collision sensors not working warnings keep appearing and flashing on dash. Vehicle has 12000 miles. 2. Hood popped open at speed of 90 MPH without a warning or manual operation of lever. Hood was not opened during a 500 Mile trip so operator error is ruled out. The safety latch was able to secured the hood temporarily. It was communicated to Ford Motor Co Under Incident # CAS#42214521. Phone number : 1-866 637 3788 X 79752 | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Mar 2023 | EQUIPMENT | Upon starting the vehicle there was an extremely loud electrical static/popping sound coming from all speakers. Sound was extremely loud, in the hearing damage range - estimate over 100db. After a few seconds the sound stopped. I have seen reports online that this is happening to multiple customers driving late model Ford F150 with the B&O speaker system. If this had happened while driving it would be extremely startling and could lead to accidents. The sound is so loud it could cause hearing damage. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Mar 2023 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,EQUIPMENT | On multiple occassions the speaker system has had a deafening blast of static noise that actually made my ears hurt. luckily my daughter wasn't in the car on either occassion but the sound was so loud that I actually had ringing in my ears after I figured out how to make it stop. I told ford about it but they said there's no fix and they don't know when one will be coming out. I have dash cam video of both incidents that I uploaded to youtube: first incident https://youtu.be/rtBawsLdca0 2nd incident - short pops of static at :25 and 1:15 in the video https://youtu.be/rWSP5E-XXCM | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Mar 2023 | SEAT BELTS | I need to address a safety concern! On 3/13, I was driving back home. my 3 year old daughter was sitting in her car seat (behind the driver seat). She pulled the seatbelt from the middle seat and wrapped it around her neck choking herself. I had just got home and thank god I did because this would have been a totally different story. I pulled up to my mailbox to get my mail. I happen to look back and saw she was purple on the verge of blue. I had no scissors in my car to cut the belt. I drove up my long driveway ran into the house came out with scissors and cut the belt as it was locked and there is no emergency unlock button. Her neck was very red and has broken blood vessels. I have pictures to prove this! No where on the belts does it say “choking hazard” I thought seatbelts were supposed to SAVE LIVES! My seatbelt can be replaced however, my daughter life cannot! Thankfully, is ok!! I called a ford dealer to get the belt fixed. Was told it was $1,000!!!!! | Crash: No Fire: No Injuries: 1 | Unknown |
