| Jan 2025 | ENGINE | In March of 2024 my 2022 Silverado with the 6.2L V8 suffered a catastrophic main crankshaft bearing failure resulting in the vehicle losing power on a local highway. I was able to coast the vehicle to the side of the road where it would not restart. GM replaced the engine under warranty. 8 months later (november of 2024) the same vehicle suffered a subsequent engine failure with similar symptoms but I haven't yet recieved the exact cause. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2025 | ENGINE | I was driving down I 15 by Mald, Idaho and warning lights came on and the engine died. I had no power a guided the vehicle to.the shoulder. Th truck would.not restart and had to be towed home 80 miles. Since then they have had the vehicle 5 weeks and when I took it home I only got 5 m8les and it did the same thing. They towed it to the dealership and said it blew the engine again. Im.still waiting to hear when it will be fixed. Its very dangerous to drive a vehicle that just stops running in the middle of traffic. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |

| Jan 2025 | ENGINE | GM has issue with Part restriction on the bottom end of the motor and rocker bearings going bad. No recalls on this just TSB. With that being said the motor blew a rod through the block because of the part restriction on the bottom end of the motor. GM wont fix it because it just a TSB. GM states that this is an issue the customer needs to fix and to look out for these issues. Even though the bottom end of the restriction is a catastrophic failure when there motor fails. I was 20 MPH when the rod in the motor went through the block. Now I got a 50000 dollar paper weight I cant drive because GM refuses to fix there issue. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |

Dealer only covered mechanical repairs, not the body damage or any towing. All work has been serviced & inspected by the dealer: Upstate Chevrolet in Attica, NY 14011. No warnings or lights appeared. | Nov 2024 | POWER TRAIN | I have personally been experiencing a terrible cold start in the mornings. I have a 8 speed transmission with the 2.7 L engine. There is a recall on other Silverado and sierras with a (broken reaction carrier ring). I am having issues like, not engaging into drive from park for 20 seconds, once engaging-it will have hard pauses and shifts, yesterday I turned left crossing traffic with my kids in the truck and it stalled before shifting into second. I have been having these issues since about 15k and they’re progressively getting worse. The dealership keeps telling me it’s a normal for an 8 speed transmission. When doing research gmc did a recall for exactly the issues I’m having, however it only included 96 vehicles sierra and silverados. Which is customer satisfaction program N212328090 8 speed reaction Carrier Failure. I would love to chat about it over the phone if more information is needed. I am very unsatisfied with Chevrolets resolution to saying it is normal. It is definitely not normal. | Oct 2024 | POWER TRAIN | I am submitting a complaint regarding recurring transmission issues with my 2022 Chevrolet Silverado (VIN: [XXX] ). These problems have compromised my safety and that of others on the road. Multiple repair attempts and discussions with GM have not resolved the issue. Incident Details: On [XXX], around 9 a.m., I experienced a severe transmission malfunction documented on dash cam. When I shifted out of park, the vehicle lunged forward, forcing me to brake suddenly, despite not applying gas. Minutes later, on an exit ramp, the transmission downshifted without throttle input, causing the rear end to fishtail as it attempted to throttle out and sounded stuck in neutral. Repair History: This issue has led to repeated repairs in January, February, and April of 2023 and 2024, as well as September 2023 and 2024. Despite these efforts, GM released a technical service bulletin classifying this transmission behavior as “normal” and has refused further repairs. Safety Impact: These unpredictable shifts and lack of responsiveness have created hazardous situations. Lunging, uncommanded downshifting, and rear fishtailing make it difficult to maintain control, especially in high-traffic areas. Request for NHTSA Investigation: Given these safety concerns, I urge NHTSA to investigate whether this defect affects other vehicles of this make and model year. An investigation may prevent future incidents and prompt GM to address this dangerous issue. Additional documentation, including dash cam footage, repair records, and communication with GM, is available to support this complaint.
