| Nov 2024 | STEERING,UNKNOWN OR OTHER | Ok , so 4 weeks ago I was driving down Jefferson Avenue here in st. Louis mo. The road is completely redone , no bumps, pothole etc. I was traveling about 35mph when car stared this possible wobble.. got out and notice my drivers side tie rod had snapped in half. Mind you my car only has 44k on it and I take immaculate care of it. I searched all over trying to find a tie rod for it. No one could produce one. Soni called nissan consumer affairs to get involved amd help locate parts to this car. After them towing my car to a dealer it has sat fir weeks now, amd they finally denied any help saying they wasn't responsible. Amd it was going to have to have a whole new steering rack n pion, which is 2500 dollars I don't have. I've looked around amd called and everyone is saying you hardly ever have to replace all of that for a tie rod. Nissan. I know is under investigation for this happening to other people with the rogue. I need something done about this and I can't get any help.from nissan or any nissan dealer, not even the dealerni bought my car at. This is becoming a head ache and I might have to see about starting a Class action lawsuit against them. Not supplying the parts and forcing me to have work dome that doesn't need to be done. Help please if you can!@ | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Nov 2024 | POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE | my gear shifter in my 2021 Rogue was stuck in park. I was stuck in the middle of a 6 lane road. Car would not go into drive or reverse in heavy traffic or neutral. Had waited for police they arrived 15 minutes later car was able to engage drive . Then towed to Nissan of Rockville Center NY. I was informed that liquid was under gear shifer and the electronics were faulty. I had the same issue in 2022 and received 2,500 dollars from Nissan but they never replaced part... Today same issue but life threatening. Water is able to drip down the shifter mechanism and made the CVT light to turned on and the car was stuck in park, Nissan said water got under the shifter. I own the car and never spilled water or accidently spilled water into the gear shifter. I called Nissan consumer affairs case # [XXX] and complained and said " How is this not water proofed as if water can get in this area cause the car to be immobile. stuck in park. I awaited a tow truck from AAA at [XXX] [XXX]... This complaint or defect is serious! I was so scared. But the police surrounded my car from traffic within 3 minutes.. on [XXX], Long Island. This ability for water to go through the shifter and cause this issue is an absolute manufacturers defect and needs to be address to this shifter design. It is the newer style shifter with only forward neutral and park button. this should be a sealed area as the cup holders are 2 inches away from the shifter. I think the issue started 2 years ago and corroded the electronics as nothing has spilt in this area ever! I don't even remember spilling anything in 2022. I asked Nissan if it could of come from below the car.? they said NO. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6) | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2024 | ENGINE | The engine revs a s will not accelerate. I have to stop put car in park and turn it off and on. This has happened many times. Dealership says they can’t do anything unless an engine light or code is present. I even showed them videos. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2024 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | As I was driving my daughter to school suddenly a warning popped up in the dash that there was a forward collision malfunction and the system turned itself off. There were no other vehicles near me or in front of me and the sensors were not blocked by rain (we are in drought conditions) or snow. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2024 | STEERING | The assessment is I was simply driving down [XXX] where I live, and my car started this horrible wobbling in the front end and I couldn't control the steering wheel. I was able to safely get the rogue pulled over to the side of the road. I got out upon looking at the car, I couldn't see anything wrong on the outside. But, upon further examination, I got down and laid down and looked under the car, it revealed that the driver's side inner tie rod had snapped in half. This is not normal being my car only has 46k on it. I called my brother in law who is a mechanic and sent him pictures of it and he confirmed it was the tie rod. So I started googling to find a replacement and low and behold, Nissan is under investigation for this problem happening in the 21 Nissan rogues to ike I have. I called suntrup Nissan where I had purchased the car in May and was basically told by the parts dept there, that there was nothing they could do to help me because they wouldn't even be able to get the part for at least two months. I find that ridiculous. Nissan doesn't even manufacture parts for their own vehicles they sell.. my brother in-law searched until he finally found a place in China that makes them for this model and mwe have one ordered 103.00 for the tie rod. I couldn't find where my car was in the recall but I feel so should be because it's the same problem they are under investigation for. I cannot afford to have my car looked at at a dealership, because I already pay 600. Month. For the car and I don't have extra money laying Round. nd the dealer already basically told me don't know what to tell you cause we wouldn't be able to fix it.. so I need to know what do do to at least be reimbursed for the labor I've had to pay someone to look. At this and for the part and then changing it.. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6) | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2024 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | Navigation system is unreliable and unsafe Nissan verified this and a failure and ordered a new unit 2 years ago and has not arrived and they refuse to fix it it the navigation drops out when driving in the middle of navigation causing a safety hazard and goes blank and I have to do a reset the dealer also has done resets and hasnt fixed it nissan has acknowledged the problem as there are many problems and dont care if its fixed many times ive had to go to my phone as this has display and system has almost got us killed many times.... | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2024 | STRUCTURE | Paint on the front bumper is chipping and bubbling up. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2024 | ENGINE | The engine frequently will not change gears (has happened several times). I have to pull over; turn the engine off, then restart the car in order for the gears to properly change. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2024 | STRUCTURE | On numerous occasions, my roof was leaking right at the A pillar. This water was getting right into the side air bag, as well as where the electronics for speakers are. The vehicle spent almost 13 weeks at the dealership and took lots of trial and error to finally find the issue. It was eventually found to be the service bulletin issue in the roof rail. My concern is silicone sealant could fail, causing this to leak again. Who knows what mold or rust issues may be hiding inside, causing structural concern over time. The fact that these vehicles have this well known issue but have not been recalled yet is concerning. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |

| Sep 2024 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | Since i Financed my car is have been hearing cracking sounds when turning the steering wheel. I reached out to dealership several times and kept being told someone will contact me. Over months and several calls no help was giving. I went to dealership and made someone come out to check my car noise. They made me take it back another day to be fixed they said it was the break back plate turns out I get car back noise stated again. I called again took back again they said it was rear strut part was on backorder so had to wait weeks for part. Took it back on 9/17 as they take the old strut out another piece they claimed crumbled into pieces my car stayed overnight as they had to order part. 9/18 i get a call they fixed it test drove but still hears cracking sounds. Now they saying it's the tire rod on front drivers side where I originally stated I hear the cracking sounds. How can a 2021 rogue with 23k miles when I purchased from Nissan dealership have a bad tire rod. I've done research just now and see my nissan isn't only one. I believe this is something that should be looking into with this yr model nissan. The dealership also should of addressed this issue back when I 1st bought the car and informed them about it. Almost 7 months now driving with a bad tire rod with my family in the car. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2024 | ENGINE | While traveling down the road in drive my vehicle failed to accelerate. I would press on the gas pedal and car wouldn’t go any faster. I had to come to a complete stop on the highway put the car in park then back in drive and then it was fine. This has happened many times and is very unsafe. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2024 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER,LANE DEPARTURE | My backup camera was intermittent and then stopped working. Had extended warranty and got backup camera replaced. Worked for 2 weeks than was intermittent again. Brought back into dealership and was told that it was the wiring harness inside the back tailgate that was the issue. In order to fix the whole back tailgate of my 2021 Rogue SV AWD had to be replaced. Camera only works 2% of the time. Nissan won't take care of the problem. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Aug 2024 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | The forward collision system randomly turns off while driving. Even in clear conditions (I understand that rain or snow may block the sensor) | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Aug 2024 | STEERING,POWER TRAIN | The contact owns a 2022 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving at 25 MPH, there was a popping sound detected. The vehicle veered to the left, lost control, and crashed into an unknown Jeep. The warning system failure message was displayed. The vehicle failed to shift out of gear. The contact noticed that the tire was detached from the vehicle. The contact stated that the failure was related to NHTSA Action Number PE24020 (steering). The vehicle was towed to the local dealer, who determined that the failure was due to the crash and impact. The mechanic diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the front inner tie rod needed to be replaced. The mechanic informed him there was no warranty coverage. A police report was filed. There were no reported injuries, air bag deployment, or fire. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 36,500. | Crash: Yes Fire: No Towed | 36,500 |
| Aug 2024 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | After car is in park and idle for 20+ minutes the car begins to smell like fumes. Caused bad migraines and nausea - having to exit the car and leave the doors open for 30 minutes to remove the smell. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Aug 2024 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER | Nissan is aware of this issue as referenced in TSB 21-097B where the windshield and roof leak water into the vehicle causing damage to the interior of the vehicle, including soaking/staining the headliner and water running down the sides of the interior of the vehicle and potentially causing electrical and safety problems. They have been aware of this issue on 2021-2023 Rogues for several years, put out a technical service bulletin, but have not proactively fixed any of the vehicles. When this happened, my wife experience intermittent connectivity issues with the Rogue. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Aug 2024 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | On or about, July 25, 2024, while standing next to vehicle, I noticed cracking of the windshield rubber (the rubber around the windshield). After further inspection, it’s along the top, where there is also rubber seals (which is now melted into the vehicle). This vehicle is 3 years old with 12,200 miles. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jul 2024 | SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | I was parked then backed up to proceed forward. There was a pole with a cemented base in the corner left as I accelerated I ran in to this pole. Peripherally I don’t know how I missed the pole however I do take accountability for that. What concerns me is my front collision system and forward emergency braking system failed and did not activate or message me in any way. In the past if I’ve come too close to a vehicle or object in front of me my vehicle lets me know messaging me on my screen, side mirrors and my vehicle has even braked itself. I have become reliant on this system and I no longer feel secure or safe knowing this system intermittently works. The dealership Hart Nissan now Victory Nissan I bought my 2021 Rogue from said that certain areas of the front bumper can miss objects. This is not safe and unacceptable. Additionally it is costing me a $2,000 deductible which is unaffordable on my disability income. | Crash: Yes Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jul 2024 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | Right when the summer started to reach 100 degree weather, the air conditioner went out on my car. It jas stopped reading the outside air temperature. Nissan I have gotten two different opinions that vary greatly in price and time. After doing some research, I have noticed this is an ongoing problem with 2021 Nissan Rogues. With Nissan being difficult to work with. Nissan states the whole compressor needs to be replaced. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jun 2024 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | Sunroof spontaneously blew out and shattered while driving down highway. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jun 2024 | AIR BAGS | Had an accident at 40 to 45 mph, Hit a curb and traffic light post caused front passenger side severely damaged and windshield shattered and none of the air bags deployed | Crash: Yes Fire: No Towed | Unknown |
| Jun 2024 | VISIBILITY/WIPER | The contact owns a 2021 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the windshield wiper failed to spray enough wiper fluid on the windshield to clean the windshield, creating a visibility hazard for the driver. The local dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the windshield wiper blades needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 100. | Crash: No Fire: No | 100 |
| Jun 2024 | POWER TRAIN,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | This event has happen 5 times in the last 8 months. While driving (under 30 miles per hr.) car suddenly seems to disengage from the engine . I no longer have acceleration and the engines RPMs increase while stepping on the gas. Stepping off the gas petal will lower the RPMs but the car slows down and eventually will stop. If I brake and reset the car in Drive, will reset and begin to accelerate. Bad thing is there is not engine warning lights or indication of when this will happen. Each episode has been when I have not been going over 30 mph luckily. I never know when this will happen, my biggest fear is the engine will disengage, I will be stuck in the middle of the road and someone will not see me and rear-end me. I have contacted the dealer (January 31, 2024) and had the car looked at but because they could not duplicate the event, they gave it back to me. Attached are pics from the service call where after giving the car back to me they left diagnostic gauges, tape and rusty screwdriver in engine. The last time it happened and I took it to the dealer, they say they test drove it but on the Invoice the mileage remained the same from the Mileage in and out. Hmmm...Did they really test drive it?!!! Or are they just sick of me bringing it to them. Bought the 2021 Nissan Rogue on November 21, 2021 and currently (as of 6/3/24) only have 16315 miles. I am afraid, I have bought a Lemon. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jun 2024 | POWER TRAIN | The contact owns a 2021 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that after shifting into drive(D), the gear shifter independently shifted back to park(P). Additionally, the vehicle sometimes failed to remain in park(P); because of the failure, the parking brake had to be engaged to prevent the vehicle from rolling away. The failure progressed and the vehicle had since failed to start. An unknown warning light was illuminated. The local dealer was contacted, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 71,000. | Crash: No Fire: No | 71,000 |
