| Feb 2025 | AIR BAGS | The contact owns a 2021 Honda Pilot. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V064000 (AIR BAGS); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The dealer was made aware of the issue. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. | Feb 2025 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | My push start is not starting the car. Then while driving the car will shut off on parkway, at a light and won't start. This has been going on since I purchased the vehicle 9/23 I have warranty and th auto dealership keep acting like they fixed it yet the haven't. This is the most dangerous issue. We can die getting hit from behind or the car can catch fire keep pushing start button and not turning on | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Feb 2025 | SEATS | I would like to present an issue with the third row seat headrest in my 2021 Honda Pilot. After stowing the third row seat to utilize the rear storage area the third row driver side head rest on the seat would not return to the upright position. After a few attempts to fold the seat/reset the position of the seat and still the headrest not folding up - took to dealership and upon their inspection determined the seat folding mechanism (which also folds the headrest) needed to be replaced. This was not covered by the factory warranty nor the extended warranty company which the dealership uses. As such, the mechanism needed to be replaced by the dealership (the third row in my vehicle is used everyday for occupants). | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Feb 2025 | FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | On two occasions my car has stalled out and would not start. The engine turns over but it seems to not be getting fuel. There is still a quarter of a tank of gas in the car. After adding additional fuel and clearing the code P0087. The car runs. I brought the car to the dealership but they said there were no codes and there is nothing they can do. There are recalls for fuel related problems on Honda Pilots 2015-2020 this was issued 12/17/2023. There was a more recent recall on Honda Pilots 2022-2025 for fuel related problems on 1/22/2025. My Pilot is a 2021 the only Pilot not recalled in the past 10 years for fuel related issues. Please recall the 2021 Pilot. I tried reaching out to American Honda and they were no help. They told me they do the recalls and to reach out to you. Please help I am afraid the car will stall out at high speeds and cause harm to me and my family | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2025 | AIR BAGS | The contact owns a 2021 Honda Pilot. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V064000 (Air Bags); however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The dealer was contacted and inquired if there was air bag warning light illuminated. The dealer confirmed that the warning light was not illuminated and informed that parts would not be available until December 2025. The contact called another dealer, Honda of Annapolis (1736 West St, Annapolis, MD 21401); who confirmed that parts were not yet available. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and opened a case. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2025 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,WHEELS,ENGINE | I have had numerous issues with the car stalling while in idle- it will shut off but still display all the warning lights on the dash. It would require the car engine to be restarted. Has happened at stop signs, stop lights, carpool lights. This has happened at least 10 times over 3.5 years. Last week I had a similar issue but this time it was much scarier- it did that same shut off but completely shut off the engine. All systems were black and the start button did not trigger a response for at least a minute. Once it finally restarted it displayed a “lost power” message on the screen. More similar issues to report. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2025 | SEATS | Third row seat headrest on passenger side will not stay up, so actually does make the seat unusable. Numberous complaints have been posted on line as a manufacturing defect, and a service bulletin was issued. I do not think it has ever worked I purchased the car in March of 24 with only 27,000 miles still under Honda Warranty. Discovered the issue when trying to use the third row seat. Dealer said there are no parts to fix it. Another dealer said they can fix it $650.00. Should not be responsible for paying for this to be fixed. On line states there is a recall number Y7Y. Honda Customer Service can not find anything. I bought a Honda because it is a Honda. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2025 | AIR BAGS | The contact owns a 2021 Honda Pilot. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V064000 (Air Bags); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2025 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | This issue has to do with the Auto Engine Idle Shut Off feature. While the issue does not happen all the time, but when it starts to happen, I have to turn the Auto Engine Idle Shut Off feature off. I have not found a way to reproduce the issue on demand, which is why I have not taken the vehicle into Honda. It would be a waste of time and money. I bought the vehicle used and the battery was new when we bought it. The first time it happened, we were traveling to the beach. We had already driven about 1.5 hours on the interstate without stopping and then we got into a lot of stop and go traffic due to an accident. The Engine would cut off like normal after coming to a complete stop and having my foot on the break. When I took my foot off of the break, the engine sounded like the vehicle was trying to start, but was sluggish. It sounded like it was a bad battery issue. I had to place the vehicle in park, then press the start/stop button to turn the vehicle off with my foot on the brake, then press the start/stop button to start the vehicle. The vehicle did not have any issues starting. After a few times of this, I replaced the battery even though Advanced Auto Parts said it tested fine. I did not have the issue for 4 or 5 months after that. Then it started happening on occasion again. I have taken it back to Advanced Auto Parts and the battery tested fine. Another scenario was just today where I had been driving for about an hour on the interstate. I got off the interstate and shortly after getting off the interstate I was stopped at traffic light. The Auto Engine Idle Shut Off feature activated. When the light turned green, I took my foot off the brake and the vehicle would not even attempt to start and the shifter changed to neutral automatically. I tried to start the car and it would not even start. I had to put the vehicle into Park, then I was able to start the vehicle without any issues. I plan to take the vehicle in to test the battery, but have not yet. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2025 | FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | my vehicle had died on the road, i had it towed to the local independent shop that does most of my repairs needed on our vehicles, it was diagnosed with a fuel pump issue, the shop checked for recalls on our 2021 Honda pilot and showed no recalls, i had them replace the fuel pump and repaired the issue, i kept possession of the old fuel pump and when i got the car home and started looking into the issues we were having, i found that there was a fuel pump recall on certain 2021 Honda pilots but our vin # was not listed in that recall, i searched the NHTSA web site and found the recall report on the fuel pumps that were affected and showed all the part numbers associated with that recall, (part 573 safety recall report 23V-858) the fuel pump that was in our Honda had one of the recalled fuel pumps in it,(part #17708-Tz5-A11-M1). Honda will not help with this issue because our vin# was not listed or included in the recall. not sure what the next step is other than filing a complaint here. | Crash: No Fire: No | 53,591 |
| Jan 2025 | AIR BAGS | Approximately 12 months ago (01/2024), we received a notice that the airbags have been recalled. We've attempted to have the car serviced many times but the Honda Dealerships keep saying they do not have the part in stock. In October, we ramped up our calls (called approximately 8 times) to have it resolved to a specific dealership in Countryside Illinois and continuously they say they do not have the part in stock and to call back in 2 weeks. Then it turns into to call after the new year and we've called twice this year and still no inventory. They inform us that the part is coming from Honda USA and they are only sending a few to select dealers. They do not offer to inspect, take our information or offer any options with this risk. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2025 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,AIR BAGS,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | After contacting the dealer several times, I’ve been told the parts for the recall are unavailable and it has been more than 6 months. The recall is over air bags that may not deploy correctly. Additionally, the electrical panel is periodically going out, the electrical on the seat isn’t working, and the car charger isn’t working. Finally, the car hesitates when going from reverse to drive. It won’t go and then I have to press the accelerator hard and then the car jumps. This is after I’ve had the radio fixed for incessant crackling from a different recall. The car seems unsafe. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2025 | TIRES | Size of tires: 245/59 R 20, 102H DOT serial #: [XXX] The 2021 Honda Pilot came equipped with the tires in this discussion. At 30,000 mile check up at dealership, we were informed the 3 tires with this DOT number had “dry rot” and needed replacing. A fourth tire with a different number is in excellent shape. These tires are NOT on a recall list. Many of the Continental tires of this type have been recalled. Obviously since 3/4 tires are falling apart, it is not environmental or from road conditions or driving. These tires should be included in a recall. They are not safe and should last much longer than 30,000 miles of wear. We are going to have to replace them as soon as possible so they are not available for inspection. If they had failed, we could have crashed. There were no warning messages or lamps. I noticed they looked odd but it was just confirmed last week during the service visit that they had “dry rot” and needed replacing. | Jan 2025 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | Autostart failed several times then starter ultimately failed. Taken to dealer and repaired at my cost. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2025 | SEATS | My car is showing no signs of having any problems. I do however use this car for my business and have not been able to use it because of this recall. It has been a little over a year since it got recalled and I call every week just to get rejected time and time again. This car has been out of service in my business since I am not allowed to use it when any recalls are pending. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2025 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,LANE DEPARTURE,BACK OVER PREVENTION | The sensors stopped working when the infotainment screen went out. It goes out all the time. Honda knows of this issue but does nothing to repair. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2025 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | None of the safety sensors were working. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2025 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | Brake system light on, Adaptive Cruise Control problem and Road Departure mitigation system problem error messages. Brakes light turn on randomly, even when car is off. This intermittently causes issues with acceleration pedal not responding while driving as well as being able to start vehicle without depressing brake pedal which is a major danger if kids are inside and pushes the button. Unable to accelerate when needed also causes problem that can lead to a crash. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2025 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER | While driving at freeway speed the gauge cluster including speedometer, gear selection, and navigation system shut off. The speedometer area was blank and the navigation screen said "network connection lost" No MOST network. It began to come back on a minute or 2 later. The MOST cable recall work has been done. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |

| Dec 2024 | AIR BAGS,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL | The contact owned a 2021 Honda Pilot. The contact stated while driving at 30 MPH and while attempting to stop depressing the brake pedal, the vehicle accelerated independently. The contact confirmed that the accelerator pedal was not depressed accidentally. No air bags deployed. The contact crashed into unknown private property in a parking lot. No injuries were sustained. No police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where the diagnosis was unknown. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, offered no assistance, and referred to the NHTSA Hotline. The approximate failure mileage was 47,395. | Crash: Yes Fire: No Towed | 47,395 |
| Dec 2024 | ENGINE | So on Oct 25, 2024 I took my car to get an oil change at the moss bros Honda dealership. I always get all maintenance done there. Then a week later on Nov 3, 2024 my suv pilot broke down on the freeway it just started jerking and the screen kept glitching then right after the engine light went on. I was not aware of any signs for it to happen but Luckily there was a cop and a tow truck close by because who knows what would have happened. After that I took to the dealership on Tuesday and they inspected it then they come and tell me that my engine is done. So they were trying to charge me $8792 for a used engine. I just think is so weird that how everything happened knowing that is a semi new car and I been taking care of the maintenance so for this to happen I find it sketchy. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
