Feb 2022 VISIBILITY/WIPER The contact owns a 2020 Hyundai Palisade. The contact stated while driving in inclement weather at an undisclosed speed, the front windshield wipers became inoperable causing a visibility hazard while driving. The contact veered to the side of the road and cleared the snow from the windshield and waited approximately 45 minutes before the windshield wiper regained normal function. While driving back to the residence the failure recurred. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to a local dealer who inspected the vehicle but could not duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

Feb 2022 STEERING The roads were icy and my son pulled over to wait out the storm. Our car was parked. Another car slid on the ice and stuck our Hyundai Palisade in the rear. It was a minor impact, no airbags deployed and nobody was injured. The steering column sheered off and the steering wheel was cut loose from the column. Hyundai has an open recall campaign on a similar model (NHTSA campaign #18V118000) for this exact problem of steering wheels sheering from the column. Hyundai sent an investigator to check the car and reports to me that there is no defect with my car. The insurance company is planning to repair the car, including the steering assembly, and return it to me. It is hard to believe that this incident, which occurred on a car built just a few months after the models that were recalled, could be a coincidence. There was no prior warning. The car is now at body repair shop and is available for inspection.

Jan 2022 VISIBILITY/WIPER Front wipers stop unexpectedly operating when in moderate snow conditions. Wipers will not operate again for 3-4 minutes, leaving driver stranded on roadway. The dealer, after consultation with Hyundai tech support, says it appears the motor overheats but replacing it with a new motor will not solve the problem. The have not replaced it to verify that position. As the owner, this is a scary and dangerous situation when it occurs and appears that the motor overheats prematurely and then requires time to cool off. Problem has occurred 4 times. The fact that neither the dealer nor the manufacturer have responded with a solution

Jan 2022 SUSPENSION at 30K miles, the car started to make loud noises when driving over speed bumps, the smallest of road variations. Dealer detected the issue until Hyundai executives were contacted. Then, the dealer changed their story and confirmed the shocks on the car need to be redesigned in reinstalled and it's becoimg a national/ international problem. They are talking about the rear shocks only and not including the front . The issue with the shocks are wide spread and being discussed on the multiple forums. Very concerned about potential and major damage to the tires/car that can cause major accidents. .

Jan 2022 VISIBILITY/WIPER Windshield cracks easily. It is a known issue and Hyundai has yet to recall it. Will have had to replace my windshield twice in two years for incidents that should have resulted in no crack or a small crack. Kia has addressed the issue on the Palisade's sister vehicle, the Telluride but Hyundai has not even offered to replace them for free or reimburse owner costs when they have made a faulty part. It's hazardous and costly and should have been recalled immediately for the safety of their drivers.

Dec 2021 STRUCTURE While on highway or driving over 30MPH, there begins a whistling noise that can get pretty loud on the highway. It seems as though the seal of the door is not properly molded around the door allowing the wind to get in and create a very annoying noise while driving.

Nov 2021 VISIBILITY/WIPER A few days ago a small pebble was thrown up from a car in front of me while traveling from work which led to a small 1" spider crack in the windshield. By the next morning, this spider had grown to about 1' long. And now by the end of this week it has grown to more than 2' long.

Nov 2021 VISIBILITY/WIPER 2020 Hyundai Palisade purchased in May, 2020, amid COVID shutdown, and not driven as much as normal until September, 2020. In February, 2021 was driving along a 4-lane parkway (speed limit 55) and something struck the windshield. All other vehicles were at least 2 car lengths away and the sound of the strike sounded like an insect hitting the windshield. What resulted was a nickel sized, spidery crack on the passenger side, about a third of the way from the top. When Safelite attempted to repair this, it immediately spread out as they applied pressure while installing their equipment. Windshield had to be replaced (Hyundai glass used). August, 2021 car was being driven on 6-lane interstate (65mph) when a large rock struck the lower part of the passenger side of windshield. Large crack resulted which immediately spread across windshield, necessitating another windshield replacement (3rd party glass used). A week later, on 4-lane highway, while 2+ car lengths behind a semi, it sounded as if the car was being sprayed by sand followed by a loud pop. What resulted was a small crack at the edge of the passenger side which quickly spread horizontally until making an upward turn which slowed its progress. After waiting 6 weeks for a replacement (Hyundai glass) to come in, windshield was replaced for 3rd time on 11/2/21. Less than 24 hours later, while driving in traffic on 10-lane section of interstate (60mph), a loud pop occurred resulting in a nickel-sized, spidery chip in about the same location as the first instance. If history holds true, this will probably necessitate another windshield replacement. Having driven all of these same roads for 25+ years, prior to this vehicle, I have only had 2 other windshield chips, both which were repairable. 4 windshield replacements within 9 months is indicative of a design flaw.

Oct 2021 VISIBILITY The contact owns a 2020 Hyundai Palisade. The contact stated that while driving 20 MPH, an explosion was heard. Later, the sounds of marbles rolling around the vehicle were heard. When the contact opened the sunroof, she noticed the sunroof glass had detached. There was no impact on the sunroof that could have caused it to shatter. The contact did not sustain any injuries. The dealer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that the next available appointment would be in November. The contact contacted an independent mechanic and was able to schedule an upcoming appointment. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact they would call back. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.

Oct 2021 BACK OVER PREVENTION Car was purchased new in May of 2020 and all systems worked as expected. After approx 3 months and 2000 miles the rear backup camera began to pixilate and then failed resulting in a blue screen. Went to a different dealer and they advised replacement of the camera. Returned vehicle to another dealer and they replaced the camera and it worked for about a month then pixilated and failed again. Took the car to a different dealer who checked the connections and cable and advised that the camera needed replacement again. This will be 4 Hyundai dealers that have looked at the car and camera now has a blue screen.

Sep 2021 VISIBILITY/WIPER Windshield crack appeared near the roof line just to the drivers side of the rear view mirror and traveled immediately ~18 inches diagonally towards the passenger wiper blade. There appears to be a very tiny nick where the crack started, but if something hit the windshield it was so small we never heard it and the crack traveled instantly across the windshield. The car was hand washed the day prior and no cracks/chips were evident.

Aug 2021 VISIBILITY/WIPER I walked out to my vehicle in the driveway this morning and the windshield was cracked for no apparent reason. There were no visible chips near the crack. Crack extended from lower Driver's side corner upwards and across to almost the center-line. I also had to previously repair two chips in the windshield that did not appear to be from debris damage. It would appear that the windshield is defective as installed at the factory.

Aug 2021 UNKNOWN OR OTHER,ENGINE While driving in heavy rains , check engine light comes up and vehicle starts vibrating. Once the vehicle is stopped and restarted the light & vibration goes away. This happened twice in 2 months ( July & aug 2021) and while driving in Interstate. I did report to the dealer/service manager after the first time and they were not able to pull up any logs/codes from the vehicle computers. The second time, it happened, I took the photo of the same. First time it occured when I had about 17500 miles on the vehicle. Second time it was 19643 miles. Both times it was raining heavily and speed was between 40- 50 miles/hour

Jul 2021 VISIBILITY/WIPER On interstate highway in South Dakota in September 2020, a small pebble came off the road surface creating a small chip on front windshield. Within one hour the windshield had a crack horizontally covering the entire windshield. This caused a complete one day delay on our vacation trip as the windshield had to be replaced at a local Safelite location. Certainly the delay was an inconvenience but more important we are concerned about our safety. This occurred when vehicle was less than 2 months old. Now it is July, 2021 and on another interstate a small pebble came off the road and caused a small chip in the lower left windshield. Next day the small crack started to run requiring a compete windshield repair AGAIN. If a small pebble can do this immediate damage, I fear the entire windshield could shatter causing a major accident or at worst a fatality. Safelite and Travelers Insurance have all documentation regarding the two incidents.

Jun 2021 VISIBILITY/WIPER The auto glass must all be restored. It’s essential that the windows/ windshield be in good condition at all times. Driving with a chipped or cracked windshield may put me and my passengers at risk for injury in the event of a rollover or collision. I do not feel safe with this windshield as the crack spread halfway within 24hours.
