Feb 2026 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,BACK OVER PREVENTION The contact's daughter owns a 2020 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that while his daughter was driving at an undisclosed speed, several unknown warning lights illuminated. The contact attempted to inspect the vehicle but could not determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where the contact was informed by the technician that the failure might be from the wiring connected to the rearview camera. The contact declined to pay for a diagnostic test. The contact attempted to repair and realign the rearview camera; however, the part needed to realign the camera could not be purchased and could only be serviced at a Honda dealer. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000.

Crash: No Fire: No Unknown
Feb 2026 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE the front monocular camera is defective causing the safety features (adaptive cruise control, collision warning, lane shift warning, auto brights, auto braking) to not function at all. This seems to be a known issue with many honda owners. The warnings show every time I start the van. This issue has been verified and the repair is costly.

Feb 2026 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE Multiple Honda Sensing safety systems (collision mitigation, lane keeping, road departure, adaptive cruise, and auto high‑beam) disabled suddenly on 2020 Honda Odyssey EX‑L around 76,000 mi. Dealer and two independent diagnostics confirmed DTC U3000‑49, internal electronic failure of the forward recognition camera. The fault disables all automatic braking and lane‑keeping functions. Battery voltage and calibration verified OK; component failure is internal. Honda quoted ~$2,000 repair. This is a significant safety risk since all advertised crash‑avoidance functions stop working.

Jan 2026 LANE DEPARTURE,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE After purchasing my 2020 Honda Odyssey EX-L in July 2025 (had approximately 58,000 miles), in January 2026 (current mileage approximately 66,000 miles), it suddenly displayed multiple indicators on the dash, including 'ACC', 'LKAS', 'Brake System', 'Auto High Beam Problem', and 'Collision Mitigation'. My local mechanic indicated the cause was the collision radar system, but it needed to be calibrated at a Honda dealership. My local Honda dealership indicated the problem code as 'U3000-49 Internal Camera Malfunction', necessitating that the multi-purpose camera be replaced. The total repair cost was $2,104.99. Online research shows that this is a common issue with this model year. If the cause is due to a camera malfunction or disrepair, and it impacts the safety of myself and others in the vehicle, why is this not considered a valid reason for a recall? I shouldn't be responsible for a costly repair that didn't result from any mechanical issue or mistreatment on my part. Because of the safety implications, this should be a Honda recall, and I should be reimbursed for the repair cost.

Jan 2026 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE,LANE DEPARTURE Went to pull into parking lot, ADAS system starting going crazy. Throws transmission malfunction error. Headlights won’t work - they turn on and off or go extremely dim. Van keeps jerking and losing power. Code reader showed U3000-49 electronic failure. Van drove normal, no issues until this code popped up. Issue started 01/08/2026.

Jan 2026 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE,LANE DEPARTURE The Multipurpose Camera Unit has failed resulting in loss of Adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, Automatic braking and other features related to the MCU. There are approximately 6 warnings when starting the car of features not working, and 3 lights that remain lit on the dash including "Brake System". This is the second time this issue has arise. The first time was replaced by the dealer under warranty.

Jan 2026 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE I am submitting this complaint to report a serious safety defect involving my Honda Odyssey equipped with Honda Sensing technology. During normal operation and without any accident, impact, windshield damage, repair, or environmental event, all Honda Sensing safety systems suddenly and simultaneously stopped working. The disabled systems include Collision Mitigation Braking System, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist, Road Departure Mitigation, Forward Collision Warning, and related camera- and radar-based features. Multiple warning messages appeared, and the vehicle effectively lost all advanced driver-assistance and collision-avoidance capabilities at once. This occurred without warning and without any action on my part. This failure is extremely concerning because Honda Sensing features are marketed and relied upon as critical active safety systems intended to help prevent or mitigate crashes. A sudden, total loss of these systems materially reduces vehicle safety and places occupants and other road users at increased risk. A safety system that can fail entirely and unexpectedly—absent any triggering event—indicates a potential systemic defect, not routine maintenance or wear. I am concerned this issue may affect other Honda vehicles equipped with Honda Sensing and may be related to a common failure in cameras, radar units, software, or vehicle electronics. I respectfully request that NHTSA review and log this complaint, investigate this failure pattern, and determine whether a defect investigation, service bulletin, or recall is warranted in the interest of public safety. Vehicle details: Make: Honda Model: Odyssey Model Year: 2020 Mileage: 87000 VIN: [XXX] Thank you for your attention to this serious safety matter. Jan 2026 STRUCTURE,LANE DEPARTURE All of my ADAS systems were disabled due to a water leak. The repair required the dealership to hire a "leak doctor" and then replace a module in the rear tailgate. My vehicle showed an alert on the dash that each of the ADAS features were disabled, auto high beams were disabled, and I could not turn the vehicle off by pushing the start/stop button once, I had to use a procedure that forced the vehicle to shut down. My interior dash lights flickered, I'm not sure if the headlights worked. As the interior dried out, the flickering occurred less frequently. I was able to drive the vehicle to a Honda dealer for repairs.

Jan 2026 SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE Multiple warning lights, all for the safety system: ACC, automatic emergency braking, etc. I am told by the dealer that this is due to a faulty forward camera. Looking at the NHTSA site and other forums, this is a VERY common issue and should be addressed.

Jan 2026 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE,LANE DEPARTURE Upon start up my 2020 Honda Odyssey EX-L throws a slew of pop-up’s on the dash (collision mitigation problem, auto high beam problem, adaptive cruise control problem, lane keep assist problem, road departure mitigation problem). It's been doing this for months, but when it started, I had just gotten an oil change 2 weeks prior and knew my mechanic would've caught this if it was something major. Last week I took it back in for another oil change and asked them to check these errors. They checked the battery and it’s fine (under 2 years old), but they confirmed it's the adaptive cruise control camera. They said not many places work on those cameras and I'll have to have the dealer do the repair. Well upon searching, it seems pretty consistent that this repair is costing owners $1700 because the camera has to be recalibrated with the software after it's replaced. I'm also seeing this problem appears to be widespread for Honda owners. Honda needs to do something to make this right for their customers. A $1700 repair for a camera that randomly dies by no fault of the owner is insane, and considering how many driver assistance systems to improve safety are affected, Honda should be held accountable. Jan 2026 STRUCTURE The contact owns a 2020 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that the passenger’s and driver's side sliding doors were frequently not opening or closing as designed or intended. The contact had noticed the failure approximately 2 years prior; however, the failure was intermittent but had since gradually become more frequent. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed, and it was determined that the pinch sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was no longer using the sliding doors out of concerns that the doors would remain open. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and referred the contact to a dealer for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 55,000.

Jan 2026 POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL Upon starting the vehicle, it failed to engage in reverse. Although the backup camera activated, the vehicle remained stationary. After multiple ignition cycles, the vehicle eventually engaged in reverse and then moved forward in Drive. However, shortly after, the vehicle experienced a sudden loss of power and entered "limp mode," restricting speed to approximately 15–20 mph regardless of throttle input. The engine revved excessively high without corresponding acceleration, and a severe burning/heat smell emanated from the transmission/engine compartment. This failure occurred without any prior warning; notably, no dashboard warning lights or "Check Engine" indicators illuminated to alert the driver of a mechanical or electronic fault. The sudden, un-signaled drop in speed on a public roadway created a significant safety hazard for following traffic and risked a rear-end collision. The vehicle was towed to a certified Honda dealership where the Transmission Control Module (TCM) was diagnosed as failed. The TCM is currently being replaced under the Honda Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) warranty. We do not know what else requires replacement and repairs. The dealership will not cover the replacement of the transmission fluid, or engine fluid, despite the fluid being subjected to extreme heat and potential damage during the failure and subsequent limp mode.

Dec 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,STRUCTURE This is now the second time that we are having a rear hatch failure. with about 37,000 miles on this van, the control module shorted out due to water getting into it due to a bad seam (according to other Odyssey owners who are suing Honda for this). We could not get the hatch to open or close, so I paid the dealer to fix it. Honda did give us a check after the fact to cover some of the bill. Now, with less than 51,000 miles, it has happened again. The hatch will not open or close. In the event of an emergency, this is a major safety issue, to be potentially stuck inside the cabin. The hatch started going up and down randomly, and we could not control it. Now, it won't go up or down. This van is is a mess. Not only does it have this issues, but the rear back up camera still does not work, even though it was recalled...they would not honor their recall, and the brakes occasionally come on without cause, when going around a corner and there is oncoming traffic. It thinks that we are headed for a collision, and it's another safety problem here in the northeast. Honda needs to own up to their quality problems relative to these three safety issues.

Dec 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE FEDERAL SAFETY RECALL 23V-431 FAILED AFTER FOUR REPAIR ATTEMPTS - MULTIPLE SAFETY SYSTEMS NOW NON-FUNCTIONAL My Honda was subject to Federal Safety Recall 23V-431 (MOST Communication Cable causing backup camera failure). After FOUR repair attempts, the original defect persists AND multiple additional safety-critical systems are now failing. REPAIR HISTORY: August 7, 2023 (30,749 miles) - Honda San Carlos performed recall repair 23V-431. Dealer claimed issue resolved. October 5, 2024 - Original backup camera/infotainment failure returned. I documented with photo evidence but problem was intermittent. September 29, 2025 (48,038 miles) - Returned to Honda San Carlos. Same backup camera failure. Dealer attempted repair. November 18, 2025 (48,928 miles) - Returned to Honda San Carlos. Problem persists. Dealer claimed repair complete. December 20, 2025 - Returned to Honda San Carlos. Original problem PLUS multiple NEW safety system failures now appearing: Backup camera (original recall issue) - STILL FAILING Adaptive Cruise Control - ERROR Collision Mitigation System - ERROR Lane Keep Assist System - ERROR Auto High Beam System - ERROR Front camera - ERROR DEALER RESPONSE: Honda San Carlos now claims new failures are "unrelated" to recall 23V-431 and proposes $2,900 for front camera replacement. I declined as all failing systems communicate via the MOST network that was subject to the original recall. SAFETY CONCERN: I now have a vehicle with MULTIPLE non-functional federally-mandated and safety-critical systems due to what appears to be the same MOST communication defect that recall 23V-431 was supposed to fix. The recall remedy has demonstrably failed and the problem is worsening. Honda's recall remedy is inadequate and has resulted in cascading safety system failures. Vehicle is unsafe to operate with non-functional collision mitigation, lane keep assist, and camera systems.

Dec 2025 SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE Multi-Purpose camera has failed according to Honda dealership. No safety features work in the car. You pay for the car to have these features and then they fail after only 3 years? Have been dealing with this issue for almost 2 years now. Honda wants $1,800 for the new camera. This is a safety issue that Honda should be responsible for fixing. No adaptive cruise control, no lane keeping assist, no auto headlights, no collision mitigation, no blind spot alarms.

Dec 2025 LANE DEPARTURE 2020 Honda Odyssey EX LKAS, Collision Avoidance, Auto High Beam etc. warning lights to cycle continuously. Had my Honda mechanic check problem and Camera Monocular, forward facing camera causing issues and requires replacement. This is only a 5 year old vehicle with 60,000 miles on it! Honda and many used auto parts want upwards of $850 for camera and then as much as $1500 to replace. This is a serious safety issue. None of this vehicles Safety assist items work without this camera.

Dec 2025 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE,LANE DEPARTURE In December, out of the blue suddenly had rotating list of warning on dash panel (Lane Keeping Assist problem, Collision mitigation system, departure mitigation system problem, auto high-beam problem, Adaptive cruise control problem) plus Brake Warning system light is on constantly and brake hold not working. At first this was intermittent but now on constantly when starting and driving car. Only 55k miles on my Odyssey. Dealer said he had 3 of these in the last three months. Said it was Multi Purpose front camera failure. Cost over $1500. Since huge safety issue putting not only my family but other cars/people at risk, we are paying to repair, however we just found hundreds of people complaining about this same issue. This should be a Honda Recall. We did nothing wrong to cause this safety issue and this part should NOT fail in 5 years. I don't have the final invoice yet but I can upload later if required
