| Mar 2024 | STRUCTURE,UNKNOWN OR OTHER | 2020 Ford Escape. Front driver door made a lot of creaking noise, hard to open and close, couldn't roll window down because hinge had broken was loose in door. Discussed with Mel Hamilton Ford, Wichita KS, while it was there getting another issue addressed. Said it was not covered under warranty. Just a couple thousand over 36,000. Door popping and creaking began before the 36,000 mile warranty had expired. It was in and out of shop to get another issued figured out. Took to Lubber Ford in Cheney KS and they said the weld was broken took hinge out of door. I took to a body shop, said it can't be fixed needs entire door replaced for $3000.00. Ford knows it's a problem, they offered to pay $1200 of a $3,000 fix. Ford needs to replace door at full cost since they issued a Technical Service Bulletin in Sept. 2021. My Escape was still under warranty and had been at the dealership many many times for other issues and no one mentioned the door problem until I had it at Lubbers. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Mar 2024 | FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | I stopped to refuel. I turned off the engine. After filling the tank the car would not start. I contacted the service department of my dealer and they knew immediately what the problem was, a faulty purge valve. They said it is a common problem with Escapes. The service department entered my mileage as 53, 308 which was an error as the actual mileage was 33335. The dealer refused to correct this error. The repair cost me $494.00 | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Mar 2024 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER | Replaced AWD Module at 49,134 miles - four months after purchasing from a Ford Dealer. It is obviously a faulty module with all the complaints online. Individuals shouldn't have to spend a fortune when Ford knows there is/was a problem with the part, and failed to recall it and perform its due diligence. Ford makes the money and individuals keep going into debt. They need to be held accountable. Multiple repairs shops are aware of the problem! The safety of drivers/passengers is at risk. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |

| Mar 2024 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | Driver's side door weld broke. Took to Ford dealership (Future Ford of Concord). Was told on first appointment it was a known issue and that Ford would not cover repair, but a door replacement was needed. Door was unable to be ordered per service tech and car was returned to me. Rescheduled second appointment so they could order the door. Car was with dealer for a week, door was not shipped to parts department because of memo stating door issue is known, but no recall has been issued. Called Ford's customer service line and was told this is a known issue and they are awaiting a recall in May or June, but don't know how to resolve the issue so can't issue the recall yet. Meanwhile, my door is in operable (window cannot go up and down) the hinge weld is broken and makes a severe popping sound. Additionally, when Future Ford looked at door they broke the aesthetic cover on the interior of the door and there is a huge bulge near the window where you can now see the interior of the door. Ford stated I need to wait for the recall and no parts will be sent to the dealer to fix. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |

| Mar 2024 | PARKING BRAKE,POWER TRAIN | The contact owns a 2020 Ford Escape. The contact stated that while the vehicle was in reverse, the vehicle made a howling noise coming from the rear end of the vehicle. The vehicle was also emitting a clicking noise when the brake pedal was depressed to shift out of park(P). The failure was intermittent. The contact's spouse, an independent mechanic, stated that it seemed as though there might have been a failure with the parking brake. The vehicle was taken to the dealer however, the dealer was unable to determine the cause of the howling noise while the vehicle was shifted into reverse due to not being able to duplicate the sound. The dealer stated that the clicking noise while depressing the brake pedal was diagnosed as a parking brake failure. The vehicle had not been repaired due to not being covered under recall or warranty. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure where it was confirmed that the repairs were not covered by a recall or warranty. The failure mileage was unknown. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Mar 2024 | STRUCTURE | after dealing with the loud popping of my door for one day, now my window will not roll down and when i open and close my door there is no tension at all. making me believe that the entire inside of my door panel fell apart. it’s scary because i’m worried i may not be able to open or close my door soon, or that it will stop latching. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |

After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Action Number: PE23013 (Structure). The manufacturer was notified of the failure but provided no assistance. | Mar 2024 | SEATS | The driver's seat has something protruding (seat heater?) into your tailbone which causes pain and discomfort. The constant adjusting to get comfortable (grabbing the steering wheel to pull myself forward) and slower reaction due to pain and numbness is a hazard waiting to happen. I have not addressed this with my local dealership as they had my car for 7 weeks and only fixed the recall issue (window switch) and none of the other 5 issues I took it in for. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Mar 2024 | STRUCTURE | the door pops when opening and closing. sometimes gets stuck while opening or closing. looks like the door panel is coming undone from the door. arm break check. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Mar 2024 | STRUCTURE | Drivers side door was creaking and now the window will not go down. Reading other complaints seems like a weld issue on the door catch. I do not want this to open while I am driving. I have 41k miles so my basic warranty is not in play. Please let me know if there are other warranties that will cover this. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |

| Mar 2024 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | The door welds broke and the driver door sounds like it is going to fall off. It affects how the door opens and closes. Also the evap system has caused my car to die out and have issues due to it being messed up. Ford did nothing when I told them just said it was because I needed to buy the most expensive gas. So I did so and it didn’t make a difference. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |

| Feb 2024 | STRUCTURE | My driver’s door started making a loud noise. Then it popped real loud and now it has no spring. It will not stay open for me to get out of the car. You have to hold it open. The window will only go down about an inch. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Feb 2024 | STRUCTURE | The driver door starting making a loud popping sound. I found out the check arm/hinge broke. Now the door has 3 holes in it, the window will not roll up or down, and the popping sound is still present. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Feb 2024 | STRUCTURE | I have a bad weld on the driver's side door of my 2020 Titanium Escape and I am told this is a known issue. The window in the door doesn't work anymore and my door is basically falling off and from what I have read this can happen at any time even while driving. They say the door can fly open even while driving because of the bad weld. I have spoken with Ford and they will only pay a fraction of the bill. This requires a fix of a new door. They are expecting me to pay over $1300 for the repair and they will pay $980. To fix on my own is $3300. Why is there no recall. Do I have to get injured or die to be taken seriously?? | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
