Nov 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE,VISIBILITY/WIPER Is cutting out when going, camera is failing, heated mirrors are not working, 10 codes are showing up on mechanics scan tool. Took to ford dealership they disregarded my concern and only changed differential fluid for a weird sound concern that is already on a recall but didn’t include this vin and didn’t check for any other diagnosis. Been to 3 shops nobody is figuring it out.

Nov 2025 POWER TRAIN Around 80,000 miles it started shuddering and jerking at lower speeds. It has progressively gotten worse, there is a service bulletin for it but no recall. This happened after my extended warranty was up. Quoted $9,300 for torque converter and refab transmission.

Oct 2025 POWER TRAIN,ENGINE With no warning signs, I put my 2020 Ford Edge into Drive, but it didn't move; so, I put it into Reverse and it wouldn't move. After a minute, I was able to drive it. The next day, I was able to drive it ~1/4 mile when this sandy, gritty noise happened and the Wrench light came up on the dashboard. I pulled over, then the Check Engine Light came on, so I turned off the car. I turned it back on, and when I put it in Drive, it didn't move, so I put it in Reverse and it didn't move. I had the car towed to a Ford Dealer, who after diagnosis, told me the transmission needed to be repaired @ $8600. My car had 136,000 miles on it when this happened; I always maintained it, including a tune up, with full fluid flush, per the recommended maintenance @ 100,000 miles. I was told by the mechanic that the planetary broke up and went through the entire system, ruining it.

Oct 2025 POWER TRAIN These transmissions fail prematurely. I have experienced major slippage on the highway, particularly when changing lanes in traffic or merging and needing to accelerate quickly. Most of the time it does, but occasionally the car just doesn't move with faster traffic quickly closing the gap. It is VERY scary when this happens, and there have been near misses! In another instance, the car would not go into reverse and ACTUALLY TRIED TO MOVE FORWARD WHILE IN REVERSE!!! I have found posts on forums where others have experienced this issue as well. Ford needs to be forced to issue a safety recall on these cars to have their transmissions repaired.

Oct 2025 POWER TRAIN In February 2025 a dash light came on when the vehicle was studdering at 20-40 mph. Firestone said the code was a PRV, so they replaced it (approx $450), had 80k miles. Six months later it's doing the same thing and firestone said it has no codes and it could be alot of things but suspects maybe fuel pump or torque converter as they have seen it alot on the 2020 edge. A week later, I took to another mechanic when a different noise was coming during turns, and they said it was the rear differential for sure and the studdering could be several things. Thye replaced the real differential, $2500, and I replaced the plugs/egition coils which they suggested could be causing it. They also mentioned the torque converter as being a big issue in premature failing for the 2020 edge. The new real differential stopped the turning grind, and the new plugs/coils may be making it run a little better, BUT the studder is still here. A 90k mile vehicle should not be having these major safety issues! Torque converter, says transmission to me, so please investigate. I called a ford dealer because I bought the platinum extra warranty and it was expired. I asked about trade in and they said $6500 because they know the vehicle is a lemon--I still owe $23K!! Feeling stuck and worried about driving on the interstate or at speed anywhere too far from home as it could lock up and create an accident. I feel the industry knows about these failures and Ford does too and should do something.

Oct 2025 POWER TRAIN I own a 2020 Ford Edge 2.0 Platinum AWD (VIN: [XXX] ). At just over 50,000 miles, the vehicle developed a noticeable shutter in the front area, which was diagnosed as a faulty torque converter in the transmission. This required replacement at a reduced cost of $1,350. Shortly after, around 52,000 miles, the vehicle developed a loud grinding noise in the rear differential area. Initially, the differential lock motor was replaced for $675, but this did not fully resolve the issue. Ultimately, the entire rear differential had to be replaced at a reduced cost of approximately $2,750, including fluids and recalibration. Ford acknowledges that there are known issues with the AWD systems in Ford Edge vehicles, yet refuses to take responsibility or offer assistance. It is unacceptable that a 5-year-old vehicle with only 52,000 miles would require thousands of dollars in repairs to remain safe and drivable. These failures pose a serious safety concern and financial burden, and I urge NHTSA to investigate this recurring issue. Oct 2025 POWER TRAIN Edge is shuttering on slow takeoff. Dealership said it needs a new torque convertor to fix the problem. Parts and labor 2300.00 and then that might not fix the problem. This is why I purchased a Ford cause I wanted a quality vehicle. Have had nothing but ford's in the past. A recall needs to be done on these vehicles. A 5 year old edge shouldn't need this. I had a mustang that had over 250 thousand miles on it and it is still going. Please let me know if a recall is being done on this. This is a Ford titanium. Thanks

Oct 2025 POWER TRAIN My vehicle transmission gear selector went out I believe. While having my mechanic try to see if something was happening with transmission, the vehicle was placed into neutral and the tires started spinning as if it were in drive. The vehicle does not do the appropriate action when the gear is selected. In addition, it will not reverse when selected. When the mechanic was looking at transmission and wheels began to spin while in neutral, he was under car near front tire and injured his hand due to the vehicle not doing the appropriate action. The vehicle is available for inspection if requested. There was a prior recall on the same issue for model year up to 2019 however mine is a 2020. I have seen numerous complaints of the same issue in many online forums but ford has offered no help. They have not offered anything more on this issue except for an astronomical quote to have it tested and no actual idea on how to fix it. There were zero lights that came on regarding the issue and I had no warning while driving my vehicle that stopped and would not proceed to drive when it was driving perfectly fine right before.

Sep 2025 POWER TRAIN The contact owns a 2020 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while driving 40 MPH, the transmission unintendedly downshifted before slamming into gear. In addition, the transmission upshifted independently before slamming into gear. There was an abnormal booming sound coming from the transmission. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the transmission was malfunctioning. While the contact was driving back to the residence after picking up the vehicle from the dealer, the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer. The contact stated that adjustments were made to the transmission. The contact stated that on a separate occasion, while depressing the brake pedal, the transmission made a revving sound, and the vehicle lunged forward. The contact used force while the brake pedal was depressed to stop the vehicle. The vehicle was not yet diagnosed by the dealer. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 86,000.

Sep 2025 POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM 10/2022 2yrs owning and around 50,000 miles the all wheel drive went out due to a sensor thats not protected from the elements and of course not covered under the warranty and $900.00 dollars later they install a new one that wasn't updated in order to prevent this from happening again. 9/2/2025 3yrs later and 88,000 miles now the torque converter is going out which i was told by the ford technician that they have been seeing this alot. Of course my warranty is gone even the extended one that I purchased when I purchased this car new. So to fix this manufacturer's issue will now cost me $4,000 dollars to fix. But I was told the torque converter has been updated so I shouldn't have this issue again. So they know this is a problem which i assume is the reason for the updated converter so why isn't this a recall.

Sep 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM The contact owns a 2020 Ford Edge. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle was jerking erratically. No warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated that it was a safety hazard while taking the kids to school and picking up the kids from school. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. The contact referenced a Technical Services Bulletin with a similar failure. The contact was advised to pay for a software update. The contact declined and stated that he should not have to pay to correct the issue. The contact was advised to contact the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.

Sep 2025 POWER TRAIN The transmission is bad. Ford dealership states it needs a new torque converter and that this is a very common issue among the edges. Also have been informed by many ford mechanics that replacing the torque converter is simply a band aid to the issue and will likely need a whole new transmission even if i replace the torque converter. I feel this is a safety issue to myself and others simply bc the transmission can fail at any moment. There were no warning lights on the dash or codes that come up related to the transmission prior to the issue occuring. When hooked up to a scan tool after the issue started there are still no warning lights or codes displayed related to the issue. I have had it at the ford dealership as well as a few other mechanics have looked at it. Nobody other than the ford dealer could tell me what was wrong with it. It stutters really bad between 20-40mph as well as above 60mph when traveling at highway speeds.

Sep 2025 POWER TRAIN I financed a 2020 Ford edge 2.0L AWD from West Alabama wholesale in Tuscaloosa over a year ago. It was jurking when I first bought it, so they replaced the clutches in the rear drive shafts. So some months later it started back to doing the same thing jerking when I accelerate. I took it back and they said it was the transmission going out. My extended warranty had worn off by then. So I just feel that there should have been a recall on this year Ford edge transmission and rear transfer case. I still have 4 years left to pay for this vehicle and I can't even hardly drive this vehicle. I feel that this vehicle was a lemon vehicle and that the dealership that sold this vehicle to me knew that it had all these problems without making me aware. My complaint is that this vehicle should be repaired as a courtesy to me being a Ford customer and the fact that many other Ford owners of this same vehicle has the same problems with this vehicle jerking when changing gears. All records as to attempted repairs are recorded with West Alabama wholesale in Tuscaloosa Alabama.

Sep 2025 POWER TRAIN The contact owns a 2020 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while shifting into gear, or while driving approximately 40 MPH, the engine sputtered. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed, and the contact was informed that the torque converter needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact referenced Technical Service Bulletin: 21-2389; as a possible cause for the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 90,000.

Sep 2025 VISIBILITY,BACK OVER PREVENTION The contact owns a 2020 Ford Edge. The contact stated that upon shifting into reverse(R), the rearview camera image displayed a white image on the screen. The contact called a dealer and was informed that the VIN was not under recall. The vehicle was not repaired. Upon investigation, the contact linked the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V575000 (Visibility, Back Over Prevention). The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. Sep 2025 POWER TRAIN,WHEELS,UNKNOWN OR OTHER Gear change struggles and shudders during 2nd to 4th gear (18-39 mph) when pressing the gas pedal. Driving in sport mode does help but not for long. This problem disappears when cruise control is activated. Went to workshop and had to replace the torque converter. Several owners report similar problems. I bought this car with a mileage of 103,000 miles and it seems to already have some jerking during gear changes but not as bad. It got worse around 120,000 miles. The safety was not of a concern, but the driving dynamics was concerning since the whole vehicle was shaking during gear changes. I checked the NHTSA website and it this vehicle did not have any recalls so far. Another slightly minor but inconvenient issue is the TPMS sensor malfunction. Most of the time the sensors seem to be working perfectly but every time I drive above 50 mph for at least half an hour the dashboard shows TPMS sensor malfunctioning. After I turned off the engine for at least 15 to 30 minutes and I turn on the engine again. The problem seems to disappear temporarily
