| Feb 2023 | STEERING,POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | On multiple occasions, as my Wife and two children 8 and 3 were on their way home from school the steering column locked up and my wife couldn't do anything but coast into a ditch. When the steering wheel locks up, each time it throws messages of loss of communication to the steering wheel, loss communication of the shifter, and loss communication to the brakes. This problem has happened three different times after the dealerships service department has put on multiple parts to try to fix the issue with no resolution. This is a huge safety issue, and we are terrified that this problem will continue to happen. The biggest concern is, what happens if the steering wheel locks up and we cannot avoid a serious accident that could harm our family or other motorists on the road. The manufacturer has recommended we put on abs control module, PCM, and Lower gear box. We have reached out to the dealership and to Jeep about this issue with no help given other than to pay out of our own pocket to fix the problem. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Feb 2023 | STEERING,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE | While driving with no warning the fuse array went bad causing the Jeep to lose all power including power steering and started jerk and pulsate. Everything turned off and left the vehicle stranded for several minutes in the middle of a dark street at night. Hazard lights did not work as well during this time. After continuously pushing the start button it started back up with the dashboard showing all different warnings with the clearest one in the middle of the dash reading “stop safely the vehicle will shut off soon” the vehicle was taken to the local dealership where it did the same thing for them. Later it was confirmed by them it was the fuse array. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Feb 2023 | STEERING,SUSPENSION | I have experienced the death wobble 4-5 times. The dealer says they have already replaced the steering damper once already. I am concerned there are more issues with the steering system on this Jeep. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Feb 2023 | STEERING | While driving, the steering wheel power steering intermittently goes out. It does not matter whether the car has been warmed up or not. When turning or shifting lanes, it is very difficult to turn the steering wheel. On the highway this has almost caused an accident. The incident has been reported to one dealership once and to another dealership twice. Neither has experienced the issue while driving but I have encountered it lots of times. Without them experiencing the issue, they are unaware of any repairs required and none have been performed yet besides flushing the power steering fluid, which did not resolve the issue. This is definitely a safety issue. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2023 | STEERING,SUSPENSION | Vehicle's front end violently shakes harmonically side to side when driving over 50 mph upon hitting uneven surfaces on highway and interested. When this occurs, the driver loses the ability to safely steer and must brake which is also unsafe to do on the highway or interstate. The harmonic vibration resonates until the speed is reduced to approximately 35 mph. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2023 | SUSPENSION | I have been experiencing the death wobble ever since I bought the Jeep. I’ve brought it back to the dealer 2 times and they just told me to get different tires. I spent 1,500 on new tires and still experience the same thing. When I go over bumps or bridge seams on the freeway, my entire front end wobble out of control almost causing me to crash every time. My kids are terrified to drive in the jeep, and I keep asking for it to be fixed before someone gets hurt. Date of incident would be from Aug 30, 2021 to today Feb 31, 2023. It’s every time I drive on the freeway. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2023 | SUSPENSION | No warning. Driving down the road at 45 or above taking a curve and hitting a bump in the road the jeep starts bouncing and the steering starts jerking. I have been informed that there is a law suit stating that this is because of front suspension steering damper. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2023 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE | Service shifter light, EVERYTHING ON THE DASH BORD LIGHTS, UP, THE WHEEL LOCKS , NO EMERGENCY LIGHTS CAN BE TURN ON, WHEN THE SERVICE SHIFTER LIGHTS UP, OR PARK. THIS IS A MANUFACTURER HAZARD, ANY ONE CAN BE HURT. THIS HAPPEN TO ME IN THE RAIN , MULTIPLE TIMES, EXITING FROM FWY . I WAS NOT ABLE TO TURN ON THE EMEGENCY LIGHTS , I HAD MY NEWBORN IN THE CAR. I HAD TO STAND OUTSIDE IN THE RAIN WITH MY HANDS UP, LETTING THE TRAFFIC GO SOMEWHERE ELSE | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2023 | STEERING,SUSPENSION | At any speed over 55 mph any bump or irregularity on the road causes the front tires to rapidly bounce up and down from the left side wheel to the right side wheel. There's almost zero steering control. Emergency braking to under 20 mph is necessary to stop the vibration and regain steering control. Sometimes a complete stop in the travel lane of a highway is necessary. The vehicle was purchased used with 18K miles. After 5K miles a vibration was felt at the front wheels anytime driving over bridge or overpass. At 30K miles the vibration/bounce occasionally required emergency braking. The closest dealer was booked during the Holidays and it was over 30 days for an appointment. During the appointment was told it was the steering dampener, a "known issue" but, the parts are on backorder, no ETA provided. The vehicle is currently unable to drive over 50 mph over any surface. Found almost 500 related posts online for this model vehicle going back to 1980. Why is there not a recall on this failing part? | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2023 | SUSPENSION | Bought a used 2019 Jeep Wrangler with approx 17000 miles. At speeds between 60-75 mph on highway roads that have small bumps and or divots, the front axle begins a divergent shudder and wobble side to side that is uncontrollable. It has happened now 7 times. In traffic I have almost caused accidents because the vehicle is not controllable with the steering wheel. At highway speeds, the only way to make the divergent wobble decrease and go away is to immediately step on the brakes in an emergency mode, hope you don't get rear ended and pull off the road. The vehicle has been inspected in detail by two different organizations. I have had the alignment checked, it's perfect. Shocks are perfect. Everything is fine, accept, when the perfect harmonic is reached on a bump at highway speeds, the front axle goes ballistic and makes the vehicle uncontrollable. This is a safety issue that has/will kill people. There are no warning lamps or caution lights. The vehicle is in perfect condition. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2023 | STEERING,UNKNOWN OR OTHER | This jeep has an awful steering issue. Keeping it in the lane im driving in is extremely hard. This vehicle has been looked at for this issue several times and jeep says do this or this and the jeep dealer still hasn't fixed the issue it has been a nightmare to drive i feel like im putting myself and others in danger because the steering issue on this 2019 jeep is extremely loose causing this vehicle to move all over the road. This vehicle is definitely dangerous to drive. If I break suddenly it's pulls majorly to the left and does a dip down if that makes any sense.im super careful not to break fast but in some instances its unavoidable. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2023 | STEERING | Service Shifter warning showed up in center of dash and Check Engine light illuminated coming home from work on a Friday. Parked the car for the weekend, drove it to work Monday morning and there were no lights or warnings. Went to grab lunch 5 minutes away and on the way back, Service Shifter light pops up again (no CEL this time) and complete loss of power steering IN a two lane jughandle to cross a highway putting everyone in that jughandle and on the highway at the intersection at risk. Thankfully the light turned red so I could stop the vehicle. I shut it down, restarted it, and made it back to work. Took it to the dealership after work. 17 times the warning light flashed and chimed during the 30 minute drive to the dealership. They saw no warnings in the computer system and couldn't find a solution after examining the vehicle for almost two weeks. Service Shifter warning still on dash and I'm just waiting until it kills me, I guess? | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2023 | STEERING | I purchased this car, jeep sahara 2019 last Wednesday, and the steering wheel locked while is I was turning to the right! and it happens again around five minutes after! And I I couldn’t moved it to the left or to the right! Almost get to an accident l! I’m very concerned because we paid $44,000 dollars for this used vehicle and I honestly lost my trust and confidence on this vehicle because this kind of incidents can ended up in catastrophic accidents!! | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Dec 2022 | STEERING | Lost all steering while driving on highway coming up to a corner, extreme safety risk. Jeep repair facility can not diagnose and repair my vehicle and it has been out of service for over 6 months this year and its at repair facility unable to be repaired-STARS has been involved. Loss of steering while driving my 6 year old granddaughter, we almost crashed into another vehicle, could have been deadly for both of us, she now won't ride in any car feeling she will get in accident. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Dec 2022 | POWER TRAIN | I have had both w12 & y07 recalls done and didn't have any problems with my clutch before then, now my clutch is making a strange noise and slipping. A software update to degrade power to my engine doesn't fix a clutch problem. Recalls are suppose to fix problems, not create more. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Dec 2022 | VISIBILITY/WIPER | The passenger side visor just fell off while the vehicle was in motion. The visor's pivoting rod dropped out of the support bracket. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Dec 2022 | POWER TRAIN | while in the middle of an intersection vehicle locked up in park, check engine light came on,had to be towed to dealer ship, code given was pid95-00-tcm clutch failure-cause undetermined, they charged $172.58, even though i have a mopar extended warranty it was not covered | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Dec 2022 | STEERING,SUSPENSION | Death wobble where the Jeep shakes so violently that you can lose control. It has done this since new. I take it back to the dealer and they say Jeep is aware of the problem and they are working on a fix. Jeeps fix is a replacement steering damper. When I reported it to the dealer, I was told I had to wait until a fix was released. finally at 2125 miles they replaced the first damper. On the way home it death wobbled again. I had to wait again; at 2285 miles they replaced the track bar. The Jeep didn't handle or feel right but it didn't death wobble until Thanksgiving 2022 250 miles from home. I brought it back in and they replaced the steering damper again at 14668 miles. I was told by the service department there are over 6000 dampers on back order. This needs to be a recall since it affects thousands of Jeep Wranglers. My wife refuses to drive the Jeep. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Dec 2022 | POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,SERVICE BRAKES | While driving my vehicle on a major highway several lights came on and I was notified that the antilock break system had been disengaged while driving. I was terrified driving this vehicle down a major highway but manage to make it home after pulling over several times when the vehicle seamed loose control. Once the vehicle was started the next day the following malfunction were emailed to me. The vehicle would not turn off for several hours, windshield wipers were running while in the off position, and the screen indicated that the vehicle was a rubicon, despite it being a Sahara. It was incredibly alarming not being able to turn this vehicle off after several attempts. The vehicle eventually turned off but upon restarting the vehicle the malfunctions would occur in addition to not being able to shift gears. 2) Powertrain Malfunction Indicator Light Electronic Throttle Control (1) Brakes & Suspension Antilock Brake System (1) Safety Air Bags | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |

| Nov 2022 | STEERING,SUSPENSION | “Death wobble” is happening on Highway when going over 65mph. Took it to the dealership and said there is nothing wrong with the Jeep. Steering wheel shakes violently causing entire vehicle to rattle. Very scary and hard to control | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Nov 2022 | STEERING,SUSPENSION,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | My Jeep is experiencing the death wobble when driving in the highway. Which causes the jeep to violently shake the right side of the front wheel. I have taken it to two jeep dealerships and was told that it can be due to the suspension or differential. I have not drove this jeep on rough terrain or 4 by 4. The dealership is looking into the suspension system for the death wobble problem. The jeep currently stands at 40,000 miles. I also have a warning lamp that shows to service the axle locker system. According to the dealer, the axle locker system is an electrical issue and not a mechanical one. I wanted to report this problem as it is a safety issue and it is dangerous to drive in this condition. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Nov 2022 | STEERING | Highway speeds going over a bump in the road the front end/steering wheel will begin to shake violently. The only way to stop it is to release gas and slow down. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Nov 2022 | POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | Back in July 2022, I went to turn on my Wrangler and the light show began. Took it to the dealership where they identified over 50 error codes. Some of the main ones I was able to see in the instrument cluster were "Service Shifter", "Service Antilock Break System", "Service 4WD", "Traction control Failure" and "Emergency Break" light on when E-Break was not engaged. Four (4) Months later and over 10 back and forth visits to the dealership, the problem still persists after being told "we test drove it 50+ miles and we see no problem". They have since replaced three (3) Body Control Modules. Why am I writing this report? Because in the situation when those warning lamps turn on and I am actively driving the vehicle, I've experienced the following concerns: 1.) Stopped at a stop light and the engine shut off. Then it takes a few frantic tries to turn the vehicle back on - this happened twice. 2.) Drove on the highway when the gears stopped shifting causing the engine to rev incredibly fast - this happened once. 3.) Increased resistance from steering wheel while steering while on highway speeds. 4.) Gear shifter locks - happens often, but typically only when I initially turn on the vehicle; Doesn't allow to move the shifter out of Park. As you'll see by my answers on the form, my vehicle has low miles and is kept in prestine condition. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Nov 2022 | SUSPENSION,WHEELS | Death wobble same as my 2008 wrangler that I traded in for a newer model and same problem! Someone will die, it's terrible!!! It happened 3 times in 1 day. I can't take it on the expressway at all. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
