Jan 2023 SEAT BELTS What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? -The rear driver side seatbelt does not click in and does not function. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? - The rear passenger is unable to buckle. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? -No Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? -No Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? -No I recently purchased this vehicle on December 10th, 2022. During the test drive the salesman sat in that seat. He did not bring to my attention during the test drive. The following day I realized this issue and the dealer had stated that since I did not mention it during my visit that they would not fix it for free. This was at a dealer in Illinois, I am now back in Iowa and would like the get it fixed here. The car seems to be in a rear end accident, although the dealer did not specifically disclose where it was in an accident.

Dec 2022 SEAT BELTS A few days after purchasing this car we noticed the front seatbelts weren’t retracting after unbuckling. After pulling out the seatbelt shoulder strap and inspecting it, it was cut and frayed, which was catching and not allowing it to retract. The front driver and passenger shoulder belts were both like this. We took the vehicle into a jeep dealer and had it checked out and had the seatbelts replaced for obvious safety reasons. The gentleman who worked on our Jeep said he had seen this on other Chrysler models as well.

Nov 2022 UNKNOWN OR OTHER In June 2022, Recall Z48/NHTSA 22V-426 was announced. The recall impacts the 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland we purchased in September 2022. At the time of purchase, a remedy for the recall was anticipated "soon" and "in a timely manner," according to both the manufacturer and dealership. Nearly 6 months since the recall was announced, there is no remedy. Our business prohibits use of any vehicle with an open recall. Efforts to use the vehicle for other purposes, including rental services (such as Turo, among others) have failed due to the open recall. We have incurred significant financial loss of income as a direct result. The manufacturer refuses to offer a replacement vehicle, refuses return and will not compensate for losses incurred. The manufacturer and dealership both confirm there is "no remedy expected in the immediate future". The vehicle is financed through the dealership, and ongoing payments are expected from the finance company, even as we cannot use the vehicle for its primary purpose. A remedy has not been provided as required "in a timely manner," and the manufacturer's refusal to compensate or accept a return of the vehicle egregious.

Nov 2022 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,EXTERIOR LIGHTING,SERVICE BRAKES Outstanding recall Z-48. This recall was first identified in June 2022. The dealers cannot fix the problem because Chrysler Corp. has not provided a solution. This is affecting the operation of the vehicle and probably reducing the resale value. Five months seems to me too long a time not to have a solution. Can the government give them an ultimatum of either provide the fix in the next 30 / 60 days or provide a cash discount on trading in the vehicle.

Nov 2022 UNKNOWN OR OTHER Power rear liftgate top attachment stud holding the power drive to the body of the vehicle sheared off, causing the very heavy liftgate to come crashing down. Fortunately I was able to jump back. The liftgate probably weighs about 150 pounds. It seem that a small 1/4" stud that holding this in place is not adequate for the load. There does seem to be some Internet discussion of this happening to others. This vehicle only has 40,000 miles on it.

Sep 2022 UNKNOWN OR OTHER,BACK OVER PREVENTION The infotainment screen is faulty, it is delaminating and causing a lot of distracting and dangerous driving issues: - Rear camera and warnings do not work correctly - Screen flickers, and changes screen which is very distracting while driving. - Screen will randomly turn on or off and change settings. It has been ongoing since December 2021, I took it to the dealer who told me it was just a software issue and it would update and fix it. It never did. I took it back (now out of warranty) told me they would fix it and ordered the part. After trying to contact them, 6 weeks later, they are now refusing to fix it. Jeep are telling me the same thing.
