Nov 2024 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE,LANE DEPARTURE Just started, while driving in high winds: electrical power steering problem, vehicle stability assist problem, hill start assist problem, trailer stability assist problem, road departure mitigation system problem, emissions system problem. Brake system warning light is also on. I don’t have a towing system installed- so that’s odd to get a warning for trailer stability. I had an oil change @ 101076 miles, on 19 November 2024, and my tires were rotated at that time. This issue repeated itself today, 21 November 2024.

Nov 2024 ENGINE I was driving on the interstate when the entire dashboard of my 2019 Honda Pilot Elite with 76,014 miles on it lit up with every light / warning possible. The vehicle began to sputter and stall. I was forced to pull off to the shoulder of a busy highway. I was able to slow sputter to the next exit while traveling on the shoulder to get myself off the busy highway. After getting 3 diagnostic testings completed… it was determined that the problem was within the engine. Specifically the cam shaft and cam shaft sensor. The sensor was scratched / scrapped due to “play” in the cam shaft. It was explained to me that this has been a common occurrence with Honda Pilots, particularly 2019. It cost a total of $3,657.94 for the repairs with labor included. They provided me with the parts that were replaced because they felt that eventually a recall would be announced due to the problem being so wide spread.

Nov 2024 FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM My car has the following recall #23V-858. I am aware that Honda has issues with sourcing the replacement part. I called when receiving the first notification in Feb 2024 and was told this. I checked again when receiving the 2nd notification in May 2024 and was told the same, difficulty sourcing the required part. I recently have started to notice issues with the car which point to this problem, hesitation and uneven fuel supply. I contacted the local Honda Dealer, Ron Bouchards Honda Store, Lancaster, MA and after escalating the issue with customer service they scheduled an appointment to address the issue. When scheduling they informed me that they would charge $180 service fee. The reason I escalated this issue was that it is not a service issue but a recall issue. Can NHTSA help in addressing this issue? It makes no sense that a recall must be paid for by a consumer when the problem exists for the owner. Thank you for you assistance. Nov 2024 POWER TRAIN Honda Pilot has a known issue covered by American Honda TSB Technical Service Bulletin of "Judder" from the transmission. This issue is identified by a extreme and unsafe surging of the powertrain/transmission at all speeds and in all driving conditions. The event happened to us with this vehicle and makes for unsafe operation as the "Judder" presents as a lack of acceleration or lack of control. In heavy or light traffic this is not a desirable attribute of a vehicle to have sudden acceleration or deceleration without input from the driver. It is as if the vehicle has a mind of its own. This is covered by numerous Technical Service Bulletins and identified by our local Honda Dealer as TSB/Judder. The correct fix is a Triple Flush of the Transmission and Reprograming of the Transmission with more frequent transmission flushes than are recommended by the owners manual. NOT ALL VIN numbers are covered by the TSB for Judder and Honda pretends that not all Honda Pilots similarly equipped are affected by this dangerous condition. Instead the Honda dealership service department representatives identify the problem, admit it is a problem and then admit they know the solution and it is a known TSB, they then pretend some VIN are not included as if they are "safe" when they know that they are not "safe". NHTSA should investigate and force American Honda to recall or TSB all VIN for this Judder issue. It is unsafe and unsettling.

Nov 2024 UNKNOWN OR OTHER UNKNOWN. In August 2023, I've noticed a noise, not sure where it was coming from- the wheels, engine etc. Brought my 2019 Honda Pilot into the dealership to get it checked out but the problem couldn't be replicated. The noise is still occurring as of this writing Nov. 12, 2024 and I'm still very concerned for my safety as it maybe possibly linked to the connecting rod bearing failure issue, which my vehicle was not included in the recall list. Sincerely, Concerned Valued Honda Customer

Nov 2024 ENGINE we have been dealing with the engine going into limp mode for over two years. it has been to two different dealers with about $10,000 spent to replace parts that were on recalls but supposedly this vin# was not part of the recalls even though its the same issue with the same parts being replaced! who do i hold responsible when my wife and kids are killed on the freeway when it goes into limp mode next time? NHTSB or Honda? Who is reimbursing me for parts like fuel injectors that were recalled on all honda pilot elites except for ours? I know about the engine recall but have not heard from honda or the NHTSB? Limp mode is very scary at freeway speeds between sacramento and stockton on [XXX] !!!! Nov 2024 FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM Problem: Emissions System Problem-I am reaching out to request an expansion of the coverage provided by Service Bulletin 21-010 to include vehicles of the same model year, trim level, and similar specifications—even if they fall outside the currently specified VIN range. I believe this case is reason for Honda to consider expanding the coverage due to the potential for this issue to affect additional vehicles beyond the initially designated VINs. 1. Defects Are Not Always VIN-Specific Manufacturing flaws can affect an entire batch of production, not just a specific VIN range. Issues related to parts, assembly processes, or design flaws found within the currently affected VIN range could very well extend to vehicles produced around the same time, even if they lie outside the VIN specifications. By limiting coverage strictly to the designated VIN range, Honda may inadvertently overlook other vehicles that share the same defect. 2. Shared Components and Engineering Design While variations in parts and tolerances are expected, vehicles with the same model year and trim level often share critical components and similar engineering specifications. This makes it likely that other vehicles outside the specified VIN range could also be affected by the same defect. Given that design, assembly processes, and parts are often consistent across a model year, expanding the coverage could better account for possible common manufacturing issues. 11-9-24 - Honda ran their analysis determined the following issue: P0430 (FRONT BANK CATALYST SYSTEM EFFICIENCY BELOW THRESHOLD [BANK 2]) BULLETIN OUT FOR FUEL INJECTORS REPLACEMENT FIRST. PERFORMED CYLINDER AF TEST AND FAILDER NUMBER 1 AND 6. REPLACE FUEL INJECTORS AND PERFORM AF TEST AGAIN. MAY NEED CAT. CONVERTER FRONT. On 11-8-24 Honda Customer Support refused to include this car in the recall. Vehicles with the same year, model, and trim level should be included in the service bulletin, based on the systemic nature of the defect.

Nov 2024 POWER TRAIN,ENGINE Said 2019 Honda Pilot, maintained per Honda recommended maintenance schedule, experienced engine knock and internal damage at 100k miles. Investigation by Honda Certified Maintenance (dealership) identified a misfire diagnostic code for cylinder #2, and observed visible metallic debris in the engine oil indicative of bearing failure. Honda Certified Maintenance suggested internal engine damage and recommended engine/motor replacement. This is premature failure of 2019 Honda Pilot engine, presumably "not included" in the "affected VIN" population of Honda Service Bulletin #24-001.

Oct 2024 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM When car is stopped at light/stop sign, etc, the car automatically shifts into neutral and battery light comes on, car will not shift out of neutral or turn on. Car has to be shut off which involves pushing start button several times before it will shut off. Wait a few seconds and then it will reset and drive. This is a safety issue as cars behind do not realize my car won’t move. This has been a recurring issue with the start/stop function since I bought the car where the car engages the start/stop and the. The car won’t turn on and go when I release the brake. I have gone to the dealership several times. They have replaced the battery and says nothing is wrong and they can’t recreate problem. Previous case #14132776 with Honda on this issue.
