| Apr 2024 | ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | My 2019 odyssey has occasionally stalled while at lights. We had received the safety recall in the mail months ago. Though it states they currently have NO FIX for this dangerous issue and that you have an increased risk of crash or injury. And that it wont be able to pass emissions. TODAY my vehicle stalled out while in motion. While transporting my four small children. By the grace of God it didnt result in an accident. I contacted my local honda dealer who told me to contact America Honda since they have no fix per honda for the recall at this time. I did so and they told me they cant do anything about it and to contact my dealer. They do not provide loaners for any reason no matter the safety concern. The check engine light it also on due to the issue and wont be able to pass emissions later on, and america honda says oh well, contact your local dealer. They should have an answer. They have stated to me that america honda hasn’t relayed information to them and dont know what to do at this point. My family’s safety is in danger because Honda cant find a fix. What do I do? | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2024 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | After getting vehicle serviced twice in the past 6 months for 2 different recalls, the alarm has been randomly going off in the middle of night. Then today when trying to start the vehicle the engine clicked nonstop and all the dashboard lights and headlights flickered uncontrollably. When researching this issue it sounds like its an internal failure within the keyless access/TPMS control unit, which also appears to be a frequent issue with this vehicle. If this is such a frequent issue with so many cards how is this not a recall? | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2024 | ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | My check engine light came on along with an "Emissions System Problem" error around 68,000 miles. Upon checking out the car, my local Honda dealer found error code P219-B which indicates that the fuel injectors need to be replaced. The dealership stated that this is a known issue with multiple Honda TSB service bulletins regarding regarding problem. Honda has extended the warranty for fuel injectors to 150,000 miles, but only for a certain VIN range, from which my vehicle is excluded. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2024 | AIR BAGS | While operating the vehicle on a highway, under normal weather conditions the vehicle was traveling at a normal rate of speed while Side airbag curtains on both, drivers and passengers side, spontaneously deployed. There was no collision with any vehicle or object to cause deployment. Side airbags caused temporary visual and hearing impairment from deployment making vehicle operation on highway extremely dangerous to safely navigate to shoulder of highway to a place of safety. The side curtain airbags blocked side mirrors and all side widows. Unable to see out of vehicle to navigate to shoulder of highway. There is no external damage to vehicle. There were no indication lights warning of an airbag system issue. Vehicle is currently at a Honda service center awaiting appointment to assess vehicle. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2024 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,LANE DEPARTURE,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | Received several error messages with collision avoidance, braking, lane keeping, front collision avoidance. I took it into the dealership and they quoted me 3k to fix it. I had code DTC U3000-49 multipurpose camera unit/ millimeter wave radar internal failure. They could not explain why it would come back on and work for a while and indicated both systems have to be replaced because of their software. I took the vehicle to dealership two months earlier for loss of acceleration and engine not accelerating when pressing pedal. Alternator replace. Upon searching the internet, this seems to be a common issue with the Odyssey dating as far back as 5 years. My errors are the following: -ACC issue -LKAS issue -collision mitigation system -auto high beam problem. I am beyond frustrated because these are all safety related systems. A close friend and master mechanic believes that it is an electrical/ software and not a component issue since the components seem to be functioning at times. I am not sure why all of these systems are failing at once. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2024 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | The car essentially stalls and the gas pedal becomes unresponsive at times. It is mostly from if the car is stopped or if you are growing slower and then try to go faster I.e. turning on a stop sign into a road. I continue to press the gas pedal and then it will peel out once the car comes to. It is terrifying because I feel like I cannot trust the vehicle and it carries my children. I am terrified it will stall out and I will get hit. We have fixed all the recalls and brought it into a Honda dealership but they said they could not find any issues. The person we had was not helpful and we escalated to the manager. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2024 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE,LANE DEPARTURE | Multiple safety system error codes began popping up while driving, transmitted, drive gear "D" on dash was flashing and when I pushed the park shift button it went to neutral for a few seconds before going into park, honda is not sure why error codes won't go away after clearing, | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2024 | ENGINE | Engine made a clicking sound, I complained about it for nearly 10 months to dealership and other mechanics until I forced a mechanic to drive around with me. They first found metal shavings in my oil pan, found that rod bearings 2/6 are fully scorched and it now needs a new engine. Engine stopped twice on the road similar to eco mode, but wouldn’t turn back on the same way. Nearly causing collisions. No warnings whatsoever, vehicle had regular maintenance per its light warnings. Complete failure on Hondas part to correct this. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2024 | FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE | The contact owns a 2019 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that while accelerating from a complete stop, the vehicle failed to respond. The contact stated that upon depressing the accelerator pedal down to the floorboard, the vehicle lurched forward while shifting into gear. There was no warning light illuminated. Additionally, the contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle started losing motive power. The contact stated that upon depressing the accelerator pedal down to the floorboard, the vehicle lurched forward while shifting into gear. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an unknown dealer, where it was determined that the failure was related to the transmission. The vehicle was then taken to a transmission specialist, where a transmission flush was performed; however, the failure persisted. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V858000 (Fuel System, Gasoline) which the contact related to the failure; however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. An unknown local dealer was contacted. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 53,000. Parts distribution disconnect. | Crash: No Fire: No | 53,000 |
| Apr 2024 | FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | The Car hesitates when I press on the gas to go forward, making turns, and pull off from stop signs, or traffic lights. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2024 | POWER TRAIN | Prior to this recall, we had noticed an acceleration issue with the car. One day, during our travels, we encountered a severe stall, which could have been a dangerous event. Just as we were grappling with this situation, news of a recall reached us, but unfortunately, the fuel pump required for the fix was unavailable. It was only when the HondaLink app suggested that the dealer could replace the fuel pump that we found a glimmer of hope. Immediately, I secured a reservation for March 15th, 2024. However, upon reaching the dealership, we were informed that the required part was not in stock. Frustrated, I lodged a complaint with Honda, outlining our predicament. Today, on April 4th, 2024, I received a response from them, stating that they would address the issue once the part became available. However, this leaves me in a precarious position. Who will be held accountable if an accident were to occur due to this fault? Neither Honda nor the dealer seems willing to shoulder responsibility. Certainly: In their response, Honda has essentially washed their hands of the matter, stating that it is up to me to pursue further action. They suggested that I could either escalate the issue with the NHTSA or explore legal avenues. Despite this, they have chosen to close my query, leaving me feeling abandoned and unsupported in this ordeal. Feeling increasingly uneasy about driving a car with a known faulty component, I am left with no choice but to consider reporting this matter to the NHTSA for serious intervention. I implore Honda to take decisive action, whether it involves replacing the vehicle or compensating for the trauma we've endured during this time. Each time I get behind the wheel of this car, I am acutely aware of the risk posed by the defective fuel pump. It is imperative that this issue is addressed promptly and responsibly. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Mar 2024 | FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE | The contact owns a 2019 Honda Odyssey. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V858000 (Fuel System, Gasoline) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The dealer was made aware of the issue. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the repair. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Mar 2024 | VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL | The contact owns a 2019 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated while at a stop sign, the accelerator pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle did not move forward. The contact depressed the accelerator pedal several times before the vehicle responded. The contact was notified of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V858000 (Fuel System, Gasoline). The dealer was contacted, and the contact was informed that the parts were not yet available. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 51,000. | Crash: No Fire: No | 51,000 |
| Mar 2024 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | Rear tailgate will occasionally pop open while driving for no reason. Often times when parked rear tailgate latch will not open it. Takes several attempts to get it open, sometimes have to open another door to get it to work. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Mar 2024 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE,LANE DEPARTURE | My dash displays errors dealing with the Honda sensing. I took it into the dealership and they quoted me 3k to fix it. Upon searching the internet for a solution, this seems to be a common issue with Hondas, dating as far back as 5 years. My errors are the following: -ACC issue -LKAS issue -collision mitigation system -auto high beam problem While some complaints date back to five years, it’s very clear the issue is ongoing in Honda odyssey models, as owners, including myself, are still posting to see if there is a fix. Honda’s resolution is to pay them 3k which I find appalling, since it’s very clear that their models are continuing this issue - along with the fact that it is being reported that owners are experiencing issues still. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Mar 2024 | FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE | The contact owns a 2019 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle would hesitate upon depression of the accelerator pedal without warning. The contact then received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V858000 (Fuel System, Gasoline). The dealer had been notified about the recall but informed the contact that parts were not yet available. The manufacturer had been notified of the recall. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Mar 2024 | LANE DEPARTURE,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | The van suddenly started randomly throwing up a series of 5 different codes, all relating to the forward camera system. It will appear and disappear at random, showing lane keeping assist, forward collision system, adaptive cruise control, automatic dimming headlights and lane departure system failed. There are tons of issues with the car having bad cables/terminals for the rear camera, A/V systems, and SXM antenna, but Honda refuses to admit that the front camera issue is related. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Mar 2024 | FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE,ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING | See attached document for complaint | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Mar 2024 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | Random extreme sudden braking (activation of the Cmbs) while driving on the freeway, without any vehicle in reasonable proximity tothe front or to either side. Creates hazardous situation resulting in collision with a car following behind or loss of control. Daytime driving, dry pavement, both sunny and cloudy. Full visibility. This has been ocurring for the last three years, frequently. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Mar 2024 | ENGINE | When I came to a stop at a red light, my auto engine idle engaged. When I tried to go by pressing on the gas, the engine would not turn on. The lights flickered and I had to wait a couple minutes to restart the car. This is not the first time it happened but it happened most recently on March 8, 2024. I have called Honda in two locations multiple times and they say they have no parts. When I told them I am experiencing problems they said they can try to expedite the parts but they don’t know when they will receive them. I am supposed to go in on Monday but they could not guarantee the problem would be fixed since they don’t have the parts. My safety was put at risk because I was driving and blocked traffic at a light which turned green. I had the car inspected in December for a different recall but they could not fix this open recall because they didn’t have parts. They knew I was experiencing problems with the engine not starting in December. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Mar 2024 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | My Honda odyssey 2019 started with issues turning all bunch of light in the dash, the brake system light, the road departure mitigation system light, keyless remote not working properly had to press 2 times to turn on or off, battery will drain and not work properly. The keyless fob will not unlock the car, the back sliding doors would not open at all. My car left me 2 times and I had to call geico for road assistance. I took it to the closest dealer to get it checked they tought it was the battery so we had warranty on it and they replaced it. They tought the problem was fix but again all lights came back again. This happened 3 times in the nissan dealer. This past month and a half I have being dealing with my vehicle. So this weekend we decided to take it to the Honda dealer that's 1hr away from my home, with all the lights on again, scare that she would turn off on the highway. No turn light signals working, no hazard lights working either. Finally today I got an answer from the dealer they said that the cars tailgate left side factory seal, that's like a rubber its falling off little by little and it messed up the computer that's next to the back left panel of the driver side. They say that this is wear but I have heard of too many vehicles being damage on the same spot and it starts with the tailgate. They want to charge me $673.89 to replace the tailgate control unit and that if that didn't fix the problem that I had to rewired the vehicle again and that was going to be be $4790.78. I would love to see Honda to do a recall on this, this is something that has to do with factory issue,I don't think owners should pay for something wrong they are doing while building this mini vans. I have warranty on the vehicle and they are saying that would not cover the repair because its a water damage. This keeps happening to almost all the Honda mini vans. Pls do the search and you will see many people complaining about it. Thank you! | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Mar 2024 | POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | Sudden Loss of Acceleration/Unpredictable Acceleration: Pressed accelerator to enter highway from rolling stop going around 10-20mph. ZF 9-Speed transmission hesitated, attempted to downshift & vehicle suddenly lost transmission & possibly went into neutral and/or transmission failed on highway. Dashboard indicated Emissions System Problem" & "Transmission Problem" Vehicle would not shift back into gear & vehicle was subsequently towed. Prior to this event, vehicle had occasional 0.5 - 2 second hesitations when downshifting & exhibited rare occasional metal clanking sounds when downshifting beginning around 70,000 miles. Additionally. transmission had unpredictable significantly delayed shifts that resulted in subsequent surges of power that were enough to screech the tires on acceleration. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Feb 2024 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER,BACK OVER PREVENTION | As from the year of 2019 to 2024, I was received a lot of this vehicle safety recall, I went to the Honda service dealer to repair my vehicle but unfortunately they refused and respond repaired service on my vehicle at all times for a reasons is no parts, up to now my vehicle is still not recovered any safety recall service from Honda dealers. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Feb 2024 | SUSPENSION | The contact owns a 2019 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated while driving 40 MPH, the vehicle drove over a bump in the roadway and the rear end started shaking abnormally. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that he was able to drive the vehicle however, after driving over a bump in the roadway, the rear end bounced several times. The contact stated that a friend drove the vehicle and confirmed that there was an issue with the rear end of the vehicle. The vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed the failure as rusted rear struts on the passenger’s and driver’s side as well as one of the struts had fractured. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure however, the contact was unaware if a case was opened.
