Jun 2026 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL Warnings Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assistance, Collision Warning Systems, Brake System showed up while driving the vehicle, upon further search it was found there is a common issue with Honda Odyssey's multipurpose camera, and the dealer is charging 2000$ to fix it. This is a common problem in all the Honda Odyssey. I request NHTSA to look further into this issue and perform a recall or a free of charge installation. The official Honda Odyssey Forum online has countless complaints on the same issue without resolution by Honda. Honda has acted in bad-faith towards their customers since this defect impacts the vehicle's advanced safety features for which buyers incur additional expenses, endangering the lives of passengers. Honda designed a system that requires continuous and substantial expenditures without resolution because it is an engineering problem, i.e., the placement of the radar behind the large, thick plastic H emblem obstructs the radar. I hereby ask that the NHTSA investigate this issue and order Honda to offer a solution in the form of a RECALL that permanent addresses the problem

Jun 2026 STRUCTURE:BODY While operating the left power sliding door of my 2019 Honda Odyssey, the door came off its tracks during normal use. As the door disengaged, the rear-side glass shattered. The failure required replacement of the power sliding door drive motor, center roller, center roller rail assembly, and rear glass. Broken glass was scattered inside and outside the vehicle, and I sustained a small cut on my hand while cleaning up the shattered glass. The vehicle had approximately 78,000 miles. I believe a power sliding door should not come off its track during normal operation, and this created a safety hazard to due the shattered glass and potential for occupant injury. After the door came off its track and the glass shattered, I was unable to close or secure the sliding door. The vehicle could not be safely operated with the door in that condition, creating an additional safety concern. I had to take the vehicle around the corner to the closest car repair shop for help with getting the door to shut- they couldn't get the door to shut without cutting the cord.

Jun 2026 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL The DTC U300-49 suddenly failed which affects many of the security systems on the 2019 Honda Odyssey. Upon research, this is very common on the Honda Odyssey caused by it overheating which seems like it should be a dangerous part. It is such an expensive part that we as the consumer have to replace and it should be Honda replacing it if it is their fault that this part fails often. I haven't replaced it as we don't have the funds to replace it, so hopefully it won't pose a safety threat as there are 5 warnings showing on my screen daily.

Jun 2026 LANE DEPARTURE: WARNING The camera located behind the rearview mirror is faulty. In hot weather locations (like mine in Florida) it stops working. And that means all electronically assisted driving systems LKAS (like cruise control, auto high beam, lane departure, auto distance monitor/collision warning, etc.) malfunction, giving flashing messages about all non-working features. This is due to CMOS image sensor degradation caused by heat exposure. Many people have expressed concerns about this on different Honda forums online. I took it to a Honda dealer and after paying a fee for diagnosis, the service manager said that when the temperature outside gets hot, they get a lot of this kind of service request. They want over $2,300 to replace the camera. They were actually puzzled why Honda does not recall this item. Honda needs to address this since it is actually safety related and indeed a faulty item. There should be no reason for people to pay this outrageous price for something that is clearly a manufacturing problem.

Jun 2026 FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM Fuel pump injector needs to be replaced at approximately 68,000 miles. Honda issued an extended warranty on fuel pump injectors for 2018-2019 models but refuses to cover replace it. Check engine light came on due to injector failure. This poses an extreme safety risk.

Jun 2026 AIR BAGS The contact owns a 2019 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that vehicle was serviced by dealer under NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V227000 (Air Bags): but dealer stated that the TCM failed to communicate, and the dealer was unable to update the module unless the contact paid out-of-pocket to service the TCM. The contact stated the manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced failure.

Jun 2026 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM While waiting at a stoplight, the auto idle system engaged and turned off the vehicle's engine. When attempting to continue through the intersection, the vehicle failed to start again. The only way to restart the engine was to place the car in park and push the stop/start button again. This caused a safety issue because I was in the middle of traffic at an intersection, and was expected to move. Thankfully the vehicle restarted without requiring any further intervention, and as a result the vehicle was not inspected by police or insurance representatives. This exact problem was previously addressed by Honda under a recall. During that time, they performed the software update as necessary, however that obviously did not remedy the problem. After returning my vehicle to the dealer, Honda has verified that my vehicle did experience this event and now says that it will need a new starter at a significant cost to me. I am dismayed by the fact that Honda Technical Service Bulletin 23-009 addresses this exact problem, including a warranty extension for a starter replacement, and yet is not applicable to the Odyssey model. There was no warning or indication that this incident was going to occur, and until the starter can be replaced, the only advice given by Honda was to disable to auto idle system (which must be done each and every time the vehicle is turned off/on).

Jun 2026 ENGINE The vehicle engine developed a rod knock at around 105,000 miles. Failing connecting rod bearing(s) has been diagnosed as the source of the sound by several different mechanics independently, including the Honda dealership, and engine replacement has been recommended. This first occurred while I was away for an extended period on military orders. My wife, not realizing what the sound was, continued driving on it for 1-2 weeks. Fortunately, no accident occurred, but at any moment the engine could have seized, causing serious bodily harm or death. Leading up to this issue, there had never been any check engine lights, low oil or low oil pressure warnings, or any such notifications that this issue was developing. Oil changes were performed regularly without any concerning oil quality findings. There is a known connecting rod/bearing safety recall involving my make, model, year of vehicle, but Honda is telling me the manufacturing date is not applicable. Despite my formal requests, Honda has been unwilling to acknowledge and help rectify the issue. I submit that the defect in manufacturing is more widespread than they are owning up to.

Jun 2026 LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES The contact owns a 2019 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that while his wife was attempting to exit the vehicle, the passenger-side sliding door failed to open after several attempts. The contact referenced NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V795000 (Latches/Locks/Linkages); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The dealer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 75,000.

Jun 2026 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING All ADAS functions stopped working on my 2019 Odyssey during a 6 hour drive to the beach with my family of four. It appears that the multipurpose camera has failed. Some reading online suggests that this is a known thermal defect, and Honda has yet to remedy the issue. Instead opting to let the consumer replace these units at $3k per.

Jun 2026 STRUCTURE:BODY The front camera behind the rear view mirror comes up with code and the cruise control will not work and the lane departure system and the forward Collision system and adaptive cruise control. The front camera issue can only be repaired by replacing the camera between 800 and 1500 cost to purchase the camera plus a 5 to $700 Adas aiming at the dealership and I don't feel that that's correct being that almost every single Honda Odyssey I've touched in my repair shop from 2018 till current has this code coming up. Sometimes I can put a scan tool on the vehicle and clear out the code and do a dynamic aim and the vehicle will correct itself but it will come back relatively quickly and sometimes it's impossible and the camera needs to be changed before anything can be done and all of those systems are deactivated until the front forward facing camera has been replaced. I am a mechanic I service a lot of these Honda Odysseys I have a list of items that I find almost every single one has a problem with this particular vehicle I'm sending in about is my personal vehicle and it has had numerous issues that had nothing to do with the operators of the vehicle solely to do with quality of the vehicle front camera is one the sliding door cable housing collapsing too the rear shocks snapping apart at under 50,000 miles front strut mounts going bad at 60,000 miles. There's also an issue with the driver's seat belts fraying in my car in particular frayed in under 12,000 miles More troubling is that every customer I send to the dealer to get things repaired under warranty comes back weather repaired or not without a single item being recorded by the dealer invariably what ends up happening is the dealer will reset some parameter and make the message or error go away. They will then return the car without any documentation stating anything. Once the customer brings it back after warranty is up the dealer charges to replace a repair because the customer has no proof of prior complaint

Jun 2026 STRUCTURE My vehicle previously received Safety Recall 20V-437 related to the sliding door handle cable assembly. After the recall repair was completed, the driver's side power sliding door has again begun exhibiting abnormal behavior. The driver's side sliding door does not consistently open fully and has failed to close properly on more than 20 occasions. The problem is reproducible and has become increasingly frequent. On multiple occasions, the power sliding door has also begun closing while children were entering the vehicle, requiring intervention to prevent contact. This condition creates a safety concern because occupants may believe the door has opened or closed properly when it has not. It also creates a risk of injury when the door unexpectedly changes direction or begins closing during entry or exit. The affected component appears to be the driver's side power sliding door system and related latching/closing mechanism. The vehicle has not yet been inspected for this recurrence because Honda advised that a dealer diagnosis is required to determine whether the current condition is related to the prior recall repair. There were no warning lights or dashboard messages associated with the condition. Because this vehicle previously received a safety recall repair addressing sliding door operation and latching concerns, I am reporting the recurrence of similar symptoms for review.

Jun 2026 VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL I own a 2019 Honda Odyssey equipped with Honda Sensing. The vehicle has repeatedly displayed multiple driver-assistance system failure warnings, including “Adaptive Cruise Control Problem,” “Lane Keeping Assist Problem,” “Collision Mitigation Braking System Problem,” “Road Departure Mitigation System Problem,” and “Auto High Beam Problem.” The warnings initially appeared intermittently and then began recurring. In some cases, the warnings appeared at startup and remained active while driving. When the warnings are present, multiple Honda Sensing safety features are disabled simultaneously. To address a possible low-voltage condition, I replaced the vehicle’s battery with a new battery. After replacement and normal driving, the warnings continued to occur. The issue therefore does not appear to be solely related to battery condition. I also observed clouding and dark spotting within the front Honda emblem that covers the forward radar sensor. The discoloration appears to be inside the emblem assembly rather than on the exterior surface. Because the radar sensor is located behind this emblem, I am concerned that deterioration of the emblem or radar assembly may be affecting the operation of critical safety systems. This failure impacts several safety-related functions, including adaptive cruise control, collision mitigation braking, lane keeping assistance, road departure mitigation, and automatic high beams. The loss of multiple advanced driver-assistance systems creates a potential safety risk because the vehicle’s collision avoidance and lane assistance features become unavailable without warning. I am submitting this complaint to document a recurring failure affecting multiple Honda Sensing safety systems on my 2019 Honda Odyssey. There are numerous YouTube and social media posts on the same failure for same vehicle. It seems to be an issue for 2019 year

Jun 2026 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM  The contact owns a 2019 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated when driving 45 MPH, when depressing the accelerator pedal the vehicle merged independently to right side of traffic and then minutes later began to work a intended. Several warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the battery needed to be replaced. The contact mention this failure has occurred on two different occasions. The vehicle was repaired twice for the same failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate mileage was 66,500.

Jun 2026 VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,ENGINE,LANE DEPARTURE I was driving on a highway and all of a sudden, I see three warnings appearing on my dashboard - "Emission System Problem", "Blind Spot Info System Problem", "Transmission System Problem". I continued driving but then my vehicle started behaving weird. It started shaking while driving. Luckily, I was close to my exit and l somehow managed to take the exit but I wasn't able to move forward when the road was uphill. I somehow managed to park next to a house and walked back home. It was a really scare drive from the time those errors showed up to when I parked. This all happened few minutes ago. Here below is a thread where I can see others having this problem. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle crashed into a pothole and the front driver side, front passenger side, and side curtain air bags deployed. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the air bags needed to be replaced however, the dealer stated that the manufacturer ordered them to discontinue the repairs and wanted the contact to speak to them directly. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 94,195.

Jun 2026 FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM The fuel injectors failed for the exact same reason as other VINs that Honda issued an extended warranty for. The fuel injectors failed without warning and went into limp mode. The vehicle barely moved in rush hour in an unfamiliar city with very busy traffic. I reached out to Honda and they could not provide an explanation as to why the warranty wasn't extended for the fuel injectors like they were for other VINs. In my opinion, Honda knows there is an issue, but has decided not to do anything about it. Hopefully, NHTSA can help with this potential safety issue. The dealer replaced the fuel injectors due them failing and the injectors are available for inspection.

May 2026 POWER TRAIN The vehicle is experiencing a dangerous hesitation during acceleration at low speeds, immediately followed by a sudden, violent forward lunging motion. When attempting to accelerate from a complete stop, or when rolling at low speeds (such as yielding at a roundabout, turning through an intersection, or merging into slow-moving traffic), the vehicle suffers from a distinct **lag or complete failure to accelerate** for several critical seconds. In an attempt to get the vehicle to move out of harm's way, the driver naturally applies more pressure to the gas pedal. The vehicle's transmission then randomly responds after a few seconds with a violent lunge forward, spinning the tires and causing the vehicle to surge unpredictably. This unpredictable behavior creates an immediate and severe safety risk to the occupants of my vehicle and others on the road: 1. Intersection Collisions: The sudden lag leaves the vehicle stranded in oncoming traffic during turns, while the subsequent lunge threatens to overshoot the intended lane. 2. Pedestrian Hazards: The sudden, uncontrollable lunging makes low-speed maneuvers in school zones, crosswalks, and parking lots incredibly hazardous. 3. Drivers behind behind me do not expect a vehicle to suddenly stop accelerating after it has begun to move forward. I have taken the vehicle to the dealership we're we were able to reproduce the issue and Honda would not offer a fix. I thought I was going to get my entire family killed the other day when I pulled out at a stop the van hesitated in the middle of the highway for a few seconds before lunging forward. This is an intermittent issueand the severity varies each time, but is commonly cited online.
